Morning Star: Astrology for the week of May 28 to June 3, 2018

Monday, May 28, 2018

This morning, the Moon still resides in Scorpio having passed by her ruler, Pluto in Capricorn, by sextile overnight. The big news of the week is, of course, tomorrow morning's Full Moon in Sagittarius. However, following that lunation, what becomes most apparent is the lingering Jupiter/Neptune trine as Venus saunters her way through it. This water trine, if you can tap into it, is some really good stuff folks. It's not overly ambitious, mind you. However, it is wonderfully luxurious for self-care, love/relationships, creativity, romance...just floating around in a water colored dream. If you took vacation this week you have chosen a stellar week for it! The best way to get “into” this set up is to relax. In our production oriented world, that may seem like a guilty pleasure. Though, you might get lucky and run into an elusive beach unicorn like I did on vacation not long ago. These are quite magical waters. The beauty of this trine is not something I suggest missing out on. It runs steadily in the background all week allowing us to dip into it at our leisure.

This morning is likely quiet and subdued as the Moon makes no major aspects until an opposition with Mercury in Taurus at midday (1:25 PM EDT). From here, the Moon is Void until entering Sagittarius at 6:29 PM. The opposition with Mercury brings down to Earth and practical thinking to a Moon who may be looking into things a bit too deeply and missing the simple answers that reside on the surface of the matter. Or, on the converse, someone offers flat and very dry simplistic answers for a personal problem that are rooted much more deeply than they realize. Either way, it can be balanced and likely will not be overly noticeable to most. The key here being what we think and what we feel are in opposition causing, perhaps, a bit of a standoff with various facets of ourselves which could trickle into our external interactions. We are conflicted internally which means that inner conflict could manifest as disagreements in the outside world as well.

The movements of the Moon on her way to culmination this evening are rather interesting. After entering Sagittarius, the Sun (7:32 PM) and the Moon (8:58 AM 5/29) will both officially touch upon the nodes by gentle aspect. This gives us hints toward our own future while begging us to entertain our inner child. The timing of the Sun and Moon's contact with the nodes also frames a trine from the Moon to Chiron in Aries (10:02 PM) and a sextile with Mars in Aquarius (3:20 AM). We gently consider how it is we plan to present ourselves in our own future, role play, assess our limits and entertain a new way to move forward before the Moon delivers unto us the potential of how all that may feel.

The Sun also creates an inconjunct with Saturn which shows us we are packing our maturity and experience with us as we make these personal assessments and plans for future journeys. Surely we are soon to enter the unknown. But, in truth, this is not our first journey into such a space. We've worn the robes of the Fool before and have learned from those experiences. Even if what we have ahead of us is unfamiliar territory, we still have experience to support us on the way. A willingness to continue experiencing and learning is what motivates us to move forward. Meanwhile, Jupiter and Neptune limber up what has been a rather “stuck” sky. Plus, the mutability of the Sun and Moon also limber us even more. Changes can be made consciously, more easily and in the interest of change for our own betterment under this sky. Then, at tomorrow morning's Full Moon, we can release our grasp on old journeys and choose the doorway that leads us to our new adventures.

Happy Full Moon! If you would like to read more about this lunation and learn about what guidance Tarot has to offer for it, you can click here.

The Full Moon pops wide open at 10:20 AM this morning and likely sets the tone for an energetic and upbeat day even though the Jupiter/Neptune trine still runs gently in the background. This offers us an escape hatch to dream, fantasy and relaxation when we may need it.
At 7:49 PM, Mercury leaves the sign of Taurus and enters his home sign of Gemini. It's quick jaunt through his home sign. Mercury leaves Gemini for Cancer in less than two weeks. But, while in his home residence, conversations and thought patterns will be speedy and likely have a trickster or playful tone. Like a breath of fresh air offering curiosities aplenty for our indulgence.
At 2:26 AM, the Moon squares Neptune in Pisces ushering us into an enchanted sleep likely filled with plenty of dreams. Following the square with Neptune, the Moon is Void until entering Capricorn on the morning of 5/31 at 5:27 AM. She is Void all day Wednesday offering the emotional body a chance to rest and recalibrate itself while grounding in routine and mundane matters.

Wednesday, May 30, 2018
The Moon is Void all day today. There are no major aspects save a sextile from Mercury in Gemini to Chiron in Aries at 5:21 PM. Perhaps we receive information or insight into new methods that may help us overcome our limits. Conversations with friends stir inspiration and ideas. Other than that it's a great day for things to run as scheduled so that we can continue winding down or putting finishing touches on the work we began at the genesis of this lunar cycle (New Moon in Taurus).

Thursday, May 31, 2018

This morning, the Moon has entered Capricorn right after Mercury has met Chiron in Aries by sextile. Her first aspect is a beautiful trine with Uranus in Taurus at 7:03 AM. This calls us toward paying homage to simple Earthy blessings and grounds us in the routine of the day.

The rest of morning is colored with minor aspects that fill in personal nuance. Then, at 8:53 PM, the Moon meets with Saturn in a sobering conjunction.
This is steady and well boundaried with the Moon's previous passage in trine to Uranus giving us a prelude of the energy that we will experience when Saturn and Uranus officially meet by trine between the signs of Capricorn and Taurus. That's nothing short of a license to carve your own path and make your own rules, right there. But, for today, we merely get inspiration toward this by way of the Moon.
The conjunction to Saturn has us looking at our past experiences, amassed experience and assessing our future goals and plans with clear eyes and practicality. And, just like that, May is over. We flip the calendar to June and keep marching into the rest of the year.

Friday, June 1, 2018

Our first day of June offers plenty of beautiful energy. We are still under the mature and reserved Capricorn Moon as Mercury in Gemini finds Mars in Aquarius by trine. Conversations whip breezily about. Friends encircle one another gently and things feel much more limber than they did during mid-May. I think this will come as a relief to many. Plus, it may also allow us to more freely engage in our plans to move forward with a little less heaviness.

At 10:29 AM, Venus meets Jupiter officially by trine. The Moon moves forward to give this energy “hang time” by way of a sextile to Jupiter at 12:42 and an opposition to Venus at aobut 1 PM before softening and dissolving into a sextile with Neptune at 2:30 PM. This is such deliciousness. We may be prone to over-indulgence, splurging through spending or perhaps even dreamily crossing paths with our hearts desire.
The Capricorn Moon can hold us to accountability so that we do not overdo but gentleness, abundance, plenty of food, the comforts of home, circles of friends and enjoyment are most certainly the themes of the day. Sure the Moon will want to squeeze in some production but a little bit of this goes a long way. Plus the sextile from the Moon to Neptune relaxes us early allowing us to fully sink into the passing pleasures and indulgences that Venus/Jupiter entices us toward.

Today is stellar for lovers, acts of creativity, vacations anything that brings comfort to your heart and, of course, the main thing with Jupiter is to maintain your sense of humility and be open and willing to share your abundances. This is the perfect day for it.
Temptation further entices us as the Moon sinks into a conjunction with Pluto at 11:38 PM. There could certainly be shadow interplay here and subservient measures taken in an effort to get to our chosen “treasures.” However, the cravings and what we are tempted with under this aspect provide quite a bit of information into our own emotional system and psyche. That's useful information if we can hold ourselves to accountability and observance instead of giving the demons full reign.
As the night continues to unravel, Mercury will pass the North Node (3:22 AM) by sextile filling us full of inspiration and ideas about our individually crafted futures. Venus also perfects in trine to Neptune (4:26 AM) which is beautifully relaxing but could also have us idealizing some potentials. But, overall, its a beautiful mix of energies that leads us into what likely turns into a peaceful night and refreshed Saturday morning.

Following the conjunction with Pluto, the Moon is Void until entering Aquarius tomorrow at 6:07 PM. So, we have another long period of a Void Moon to get our feet back underneath us tomorrow.

Saturday, June 2, 2018

The Moon is Void in Capricorn this morning as we likely steep ourselves in sleep in dream a little later than normal this morning. The enchantment of Venus trine Neptune casts a nearly hallucinogenic fog over the day. It's great for leisure activities. It's just not suggested to involve yourself in anything new under the Void Moon. This is for tried and true relaxation efforts as well as leisurely involvement in things we know bring us ease.

The Moon wakes up in Airy Aquarius at 6:07 PM. This brings mental clarity as well as optimism to the emotional body. However, shortly after entering the sign, the Moon squares off with Uranus in Taurus. This is an aspect that wakes us from Venus/Neptune's dreamscape and brings current reality in for a visit. The mixture between the Moon and Uranus is quite dry and dusty. What Uranus is preaching is the genius found in simplicity with a Moon who has tendency to make things more complicated than it has to be. It's like fixing the computer by rebooting it instead of completely disassembling it at the first inkling of a glitch. Look for the simple answers first which are likely going to be the ones that plucks our heads out of the clouds and plants our feet firmly in some common sense. Do know that the square can kick start anxious responses and offer quite a rude awakening from the flowy water trines we have experienced over the last few days.

I do suggest that you monopolize upon the Void Moon this morning and sink into the Venus/Neptune trine as you can. As soon as Uranus rattles us out of that dream world and plunks our feet on the ground, we take off running while our tongues incessantly wag in our Sunday.

Sunday, June 3, 2018

This morning the Moon sparkles away in Aquarius meeting Chiron in Aries having met Chiron in Aries by sextile overnight. As the rooster crows in the day, she is conjunct Mars which ushers in our “get up and go.” Shortly after, the Moon moves across our South Node reminding us of past ventures.

The rest of the day? Pure wind. The Moon moves forward to trine both Mercury and the Sun in Gemini. So these are social, chatty and mobile airs that greet us within this day. It's a time for getting out and about, trying new things, meeting up with friends and acquaintances as well as swapping recent tales of woe, adventure and experience. Windy. That's the best way to put it and the entirety of the day likely seems to pass by in a flash. It can turn a little manic due the busyness of the brain and all the whipping chatter. But, mostly its breezy, light and includes good company. I'm sure few will complain.
At 1:11 AM the Moon is square Jupiter in Scorpio sending us off to unwind into dream for the evening. By the time that occurs, we are likely all talked out and giving what we've learned within the confines of the day some serious consideration. Following the square with Jupiter, the Moon is Void for the whole day on Monday. She reactivates in the sign of Pisces on Tuesday morning at 6:54 AM.
