Morning Star: Daily Astrology for the week of July 5 to July 9, 2021

Monday, July 5

Our deeply waning Moon floated by Neptune this morning at 7:30 EST. She dives into the caverns of Pluto around 1 PM giving us depth, grit, traction and room for recovery. From here, she rests in Void status.

Meanwhile, the Sun is busy trying to wriggle free of oppression and ignorance with a sextile to Uranus at 3:14 PM. Venus blows wish kisses at the North Node before the day is out. Will they matter with a Venus ruled Moon sleeping early? Maybe the shrinking Moon in Gemini will wake up in time to catch them. As darkness scatters across the East Coast, Luna wafts into the sign of the Twins showing us both sides of the story and believing neither.

Overnight, even though the Gemini Moon tries to be light, her wings are dampened with emotional dreams by way of a square to Jupiter struggling to exit Pisces and her ruler's, Mercury, square to Neptune. Sometimes it all comes out of in the wash. Sometimes the stain and its stench remain.

Tuesday, July 6

Tuesday morning's fog slowly lifts. The air lightens a bit as the Gemini Moon dances with Venus in Leo (9:41 AM) allowing sunshine and breezes to briefly rule the sky. Butterflies happen while hope blossoms. Wisdom lights upon her petals as the Moon finds Saturn (9:47 PM) by trine just as Venus is also anchored in opposition (10:36 PM).

Wednesday, July 7

We begin early with good intentions on Wednesday when the Moon tries to get off on a better foot with a sextile to Mars in Leo at daybreak (5:47 AM). She whispers softly, “I think I can. I think we can” only to be drowned again by the waves of Neptune by nightfall (8:12 PM). In the mix of this riptide, Venus gently kisses Chiron with healing or a familiar taste of poison depending on our preference. She's playful but the adage of once bitten, twice shy holds true.

We try to distract ourselves enough to let go. But, the waves keep bringing what we would rather forget back to shore. Mercury walks out of his shadow today. A new story line may be appreciated but some will prefer the Devil they know over the one they've yet to meet.

Thursday, July 8

The Gemini Moon meets up with her ruler, Mercury, in his new territory just as Wednesday ends and Thursday begins (00:24 AM). From here she rests until entering Cancer at 9 AM. Emotions run heavy and deep as the Moon wanes in her domicile. Releasing, purging and preparing for a brand new phase on Friday. She tries to blur it all away and seeks ways to self-nurture and find peace with a trine to Jupiter in Pisces at 1 PM.

But, Venus in Leo grows restless and a bit anxious as she squares Uranus while still under the watchful eyes of Saturn at 3:25 PM. The weight can feel like too much and some will blow apart factions of their lives just to maintain a sense of control over what can't be controlled as the discomfort and anxiety grows. However, the outlet for this fixed t-square falls in Scorpio advising us the answer is to go deep. Suss out the thorns. Uncover the roots. Deal with the difficult that makes us uncomfortable instead of striving to merely create new dramatic scenarios in hopes of burying or denying the older business still waiting for us to take care of it.

Bellies remain unsettled as does our sleep as we continue lumbering through the last days of this dark Moon.

Friday, July 9

Friday dawns under this heavy veil but sends sparks of hope and optimism as the dark Moon in Cancer finds Uranus by sextile at midday. Whispers of the week's eminent end illuminate the mouth of the tunnel. The work week concludes as a new Moon cycle begins. The night is dark and long but gifts us new beginnings (even though vulnerable and tender) with our New Moon in Cancer at 19 degrees just after 9 PM.

Our guide for this lunation is the 2 of Swords advising us to dismiss ourselves momentarily from the choppier emotional waves and to blind ourselves from bias as we choose what paths we will travel from here. It will boil down to mustering of resolve or surrender as our first tasks riding upon the weekend are to wash it all away (Moon trine Neptune 7:11 AM) and scrape off the crust and decay in effort to finalize our decisions (Moon opposite Pluto 12:00 PM) on Saturday. After that, the Moon finally rests for the majority of our daylight hours before entering Leo at 8:21 PM on the 10th.
