Morning Star: Astrology for the week of June 21 to June 25, 2021

Monday, June 21

Early this morning, our Scorpio Moon made difficult aspects to both Uranus in Taurus (6:02 AM) and Saturn Rx in Aquarius (5:09 AM). This represented both blockage and breakthrough. In the backdrop, Venus softens matters a bit with a blurry trine to Neptune in Pisces at about 10 AM. This trine can be prone to veil any difficulties and soften edges in a way that the tension felt from the Scorpio Moon earlier today dissipates quickly. 12 hours later the Moon joins in this water mix finding Neptune first (10 PM) then reaching over with adoration to Venus in Cancer.

Scorpio and Cancer are a sultry mix with inexplicable depth of connection. With the Moon and Venus in play we can achieve almost an ethereal level of satisfaction if we are able to indulge and appreciate the opportunity to relax and surrender to the flow. The intensity of this potential for healing and restoration deepens as the Moon finds her modern ruler, Pluto, by sextile at 3 AM early on the 22nd. From here, the Moon is Void until entering the sign of Zeus himself, Sagittarius, at about 9 AM tomorrow morning.

Tuesday, June 22

The Moon is void as the Sun rises on the East Coast. But, by 9 AM she has entered Sagittarius and waxes nearly full. Just after noon, she squares off with her ruler who has just turned retrograde in his 2nd domicile of Pisces on Sunday. This is a challenge to beliefs and theory. But, found in mutable signs there is plenty of room for changing our minds and perspective.

Contemplating a change in mindset fits nicely as Mercury stalls and turns direct at just before 6 PM. This initiates us into the third phase of his retrograde cycle which involves him retracing his retrograde degrees until exiting his shadow and breaching new territory on July 7.

At 8 PM, our Moon in Sagittarius meets with ambition, initiative and creative instigation with a fiery trine to Mars in Leo. This can make for difficulty settling down to sleep or the spark that sets aflame the burning of the midnight oil. As the night deepens and the fat Moon shines amongst a blanket of stars, she passes by the South Node at 2 AM. This is a reminder of how things were in comparison to how we desire them to become.

Wednesday, June 23

Dawn breaks and the Moon waxes visionary and socially accountable with a sextile to Saturn Rx in Aquarius at 5:26 AM. The Sun in Cancer joins chimes in with philosophical themes or falters toward egoic ambitions with a trine to Jupiter in Pisces at 6:12 AM. This watery mix brings forth the difference between enabling and empowering behavior between these two signs. Enabling defers to shadow issues of the ego that reflects needs to cling to others by way of creating or fostering a dependence. Whereas empowering defers to the truth of love which will, if necessary, sacrifice self and the need for connection and control in order to assist or allow a person to gain independence, freedom and growth. The line between the two is easy to find when heart is set on a healthy and truly loving perspective. Unfortunately, savior, hero or veiled desires to control can surely cause us to trip over it. Empowerment uplifts. Enabling imprisons.

By 11 AM, the Moon stands off with Mercury newly direct. This is a balance between what we know and what we are learning. In truth, what we know is subject to change while learning is a ever rolling process. As evening falls, Venus in Cancer waxes into opposition with Pluto in Capricorn (7:36 PM). This reveals the shadow aspects of Venus while also pitting her in a power play that could cause her to recognize the ways in which she falls prey to the dynamics of enabling versus empowerment as mentioned above. The answer is to confront and reconcile these demons while recognizing the power play at hand. Attachment can be released here and detrimental habits reformed. However, Venus may have to overcome some lust or fear in order to do so.

Darkness births the Sagittarius Moon's square to Neptune in Pisces which could cause the budding Full Moon to appear as a water color painting or to be shrouded in rain clouds. It's a sleepy mix that can allow us to recoup rest that may have been lost with the Moon's trine to Mars yesterday. Either way, the Moon falls into Void status after this aspect and prior to Saturn Rx's sextile to Chiron in Aries just after midnight. This sextile dispassionately reminds us of the effectiveness of our established coping mechanisms, the need for communal support and measures our maturity against our ability to deal with our perceived shortcomings. The Moon awakens sober and sturdy at 9 AM tomorrow as we head straight into our first Full Moon of summer.

Thursday, June 24

The Moon continues to blossom as she enters the sign of Capricorn at 9 AM this morning. By Noon, she is encouraged and bolstered with empathic perspective through a sextile with Jupiter in Pisces. Our rough edged and rigid Moon may actually cry with compassion or regret here. But the opportunity to illuminate a established action plan or wash away that which burdens us bursts forth with the official culmination of the Full Moon in Capricorn at 2:40 PM.

The Full Moon falls at 3 Capricorn 28 answering to the following Chandra symbol as penned by Elias Lonsdale:

Footprints in the snow.

You are following your own footsteps. In the last previous lifetime, you set into motion a very full karmic momentum, which only got to midstream. This time you first recapitulate the previous patterns and then set out where they lead. All of it, every step, feels fated, inevitable. It is an uncannily strong inward impression. Yet in order to permit the soul of this lifetime some measure of autonomy and freedom, this knowledge is held in the super-conscious mind, and you can then cast about as though nothing had happened before. Except that the inward instincts direct you in a predetermined course, and the lessons and the scenes are so very familiar. When individual karma is this strong, the truth is that you must go through what you have set yourself to take on. And inwardly you know it, while outwardly you tread lightly, whistling in the dark, hoping that heavy feeling does not mean what you know it means, for better and for worse.

Our guide for the Full Moon is the 8 of Cups. It's advice bursts forth as follows:

Much has been experienced. Some things are forever lost and yet, new beginnings filled with excitement and, yet, potentials for new beginnings are currently being birthed. Even if you are in the same spot as you were before, you will never be able to perceive of it the same way again.

Turbulence has swelled and now the tides recede revealing dissatisfaction and disappointment. Sorrow and remorse. There are more challenges to come in the future. Life flows with white-capped waves, lulls and storms. Be gentle with your assessments of your performance. Celebrate that you are still standing. But, know at this time, it may be difficult to find reason to celebrate.

The 8 of Cups is not a happy time. It's sensitive. But, it's also positions us with a readiness to move on. This is we you drain the situation of memories, experience and wisdom while bidding it goodbye. We could literally be delivering goodbyes in relationships or jobs that we have outgrown. We may retire roles that we no longer wish to bear or give up on a draining experience or manipulative/abusive situations.

This is suggestive of a sober time in which we may have to confront some hard or difficult feelings. But, beyond that processing and confrontation lies a new and promising day. We are ready to do the emotional labor necessary so that we can move toward it.

Feelings of mourning and lethargy could bear heavy ever presence. In that instance we are encouraged toward rest. Self-care and allowance of emotional processing are integral in the advice of this card. We are vulnerable and deserving of the benefit of our own care. Time to deal with the emotional fall out is essential along with ponderings of forgiveness, acceptance, remorse, guilt or mourning. Don't skip any steps because going through the healing process is what assists the new day to dawn. Delaying care and dealing will only elongate the journey of misery when suffering it is optional!

Music is balm during times such as these. Faith grows into sturdy support. There can be feelings of heaviness but they tend to lessen as time moves forward. Taking the first step toward that new destination is usually the hardest because it requires our acceptance of the fact that something we have invested in is over. Something has died or has ended. Admittance of wasted time or emotional investment is extremely difficult. The next steps are easier but are slow to blossom with enjoyment. This is messy work. We may want to do it in private and are encouraged to take the alone time we may need. Ensure you are not becoming unhealthily withdrawn or avoidant. Seek professional help or support if you need but make sure you let yourself express what you are feeling. What you've been struggling with is over. All that's left to do is incorporating it into memory, dealing with the closure/follow through and, then, head toward the dawn.

Themes: walking away, thanks for the memories, drained, all cried out, over it, exhaustion, giving up, walking away, abandonment, emotional hangover, closure, completion, numb, knowing when to leave, disillusioned, wasted time, ready to be done with suffering or illness, desire for freshness, escapism, stagnation, lost, turning your back on what you care about, unfulfilled or empty promises, leaving vacation for home, irretrievable loss, mourning, hollow, lonely, morose, high tide, desire for improvement, good-byes, sensitive, imagination, dreams, sleep, traveling by night or lucid dreaming, retreat, withdrawal, recluse, acceptance, forgiveness, detoxification, sobriety, depression, sensitivity, codependency, withholding of support, distilling meaning, processing/integrating memories

The Full Moon's vibes invade the rest of our Thursday. The Moon makes no further major aspects until Friday morning.

Friday, June 25

The Moon in Capricorn is challenged with self-doubt as she squares off with Chiron in Aries at 5:44 AM. But, grounded inspiration and the wisdom of common sense finds us as she makes an Earthy trine to Uranus in Taurus at 7:04 AM. This spark of initiative is met with the tidal recession as Neptune stations retrograde at 9 AM. The Sea God pulls back the tides here revealing what has been washed ashore be it treasure or trash. Either way, it's presence is undeniable.

The blurry revelations continue through the day with no major aspects to the Moon until she meets with Neptune just after nightfall. This can be emotional or relaxing depending upon the day's finds. She continues to lumber through Capricorn through the night finding depth of purpose with a conjunction to Pluto in Capricorn early Saturday morning. This is followed by a board meeting over financials and a review of resource investment by way of a stand off with demure Venus in Cancer at 8:50 AM on the 26th.

Here, our industrious Moon is laid to rest before reawakening with a small bag of wisdom and inspiration toward better days in the sign of Aquarius (10 AM) just in time for the weekend to commence.
