The Micro New Moon in Aries commences
on March 24th at 5:29 AM EDT. Mars, the ruler of this
Moon, has a plan but he's going to have to pitch it to the big guys
in charge before it's approved for launch. And the big guys? All they
care about is the bottom line and what's best for business. In order
to receive the approval and funding he needs for his project, he will
need to frame his pitch to the bosses around the potential for return
on their investment and illustrate to them how his initiatives
support their longer term goals. Aside from delivering his ideas and
projections for the future, he is tasked with presenting himself as
the right man for the job. They aren't going to give funding and or
the green light to someone who has not established their integrity
and ability to follow a plan through.
He's looking to start this project
during the New Moon in his sign. Launching it right as spring starts
to unfurl. He knows that he will not only have to be mindful of
gaining the support of his superiors but he will also have to ensure
that he feels adequate for the job and that, after this thing gets
rolling, he can still manage his responsibilities at home and in
regard to his health.
At the New Moon, he may be questioning
his abilities and diligently attempting to manage that balance
between work and home by reaching out, working with others and
perhaps even hiring or bartering for assistance. This New Moon is
hobbled in a few ways. The ruler of the Sun/Moon, Mars in Capricorn,
is empowered having just began a new cycle with Pluto but the Moon
itself falls “at the bends” marking the midway point between
eclipses.
Lunations at the bends can be sneakily
erratic. Plus, she is also conjunct Chiron and BML. Internally we may
feel super-charged and over-ready or eager to burst into spring; but,
for the most part, these are slow, tedious and tender steps we are
encouraged to take.
This 2 week lunar period introduces us
to Saturn in Aquarius. He moves from Cap to Aqua on 3/22. This is
followed by Mars' entrance to the same on 3/30. Plus, we are
introduced into a period of “all planets direct” that will
sustain until Pluto turns retrograde at the end of April following
the New Moon in Taurus. This forward moving energy is accentuated
after Mercury leaves his Rx shadow on 3/30. He enters Aries on 4/11
just shortly after our Super Full Moon in Libra on 4/7.
Venus rises in importance after we pass
by the Full Moon. She enters her Rx shadow on 4/9 from Gemini after
having entered the sign on 4/3. For the most part, though, from the
New Moon forward the energies center in focus around Mars, Mercury
and Saturn. Jupiter and Pluto are still held in relevance as well.
They meet by conjunction at 25 Cap on 4/4 under an active, nearly
full and fat Virgo Moon.
As Saturn will enter Aquarius prior to
the New Moon, let's talk about that for minute. My Saturn in Gemini
looks at folks with Saturn in Aquarius with admiration. These are
extremely wise folks but there are times in which I wonder if they
have been kind of shocked numb. That can happen with just about
anything in Aquarius.
Saturn, in some instances, can
influence a person's countenance. Their facial expressions and looks.
This can be due to Saturn's aspects to the Sun, Ascendant or house
placement within a chart. For example, I have Capricorn rising. So,
at times, my Saturn shines through in my facial expressions in a nice
stone “resting witch face.” My forehead furrows and my eyes
narrow much like one would expect from a rendition of The Thinker.
But, Saturn in Aquarius, these folks are stone faced. They are not
the folks you want to play poker with because their affect of stone
has no tells. Plus, they are masters of the game. Any game. They know
all the rules and all the ways to get around them. They are, to a
large part, a law unto themselves. Known for being able to call their
own shots.
They know the law and all the ins and
outs of it. That doesn't mean they never break the law. Just that
they know the consequences they are up against if they get caught and
have deemed the risk of that as worthy. They will hire the best
lawyer and likely have a defense prepared that will either find the
loophole in the law that sets them free or be able to frame facts in
a way that supports their logic and justifies their actions. After
all, they will have thought things through and likely even read all
about precedent and what have you. This is not impulsively going
against the rules. This is playing smart while dismissing the
interplay of emotional influence while making their decision. It's
either right or wrong and the evidence supports that or it doesn't.
If the law in question is convoluted, nonsensical or something that
singles folks out in a way that it is not applicable to all...Saturn
in Aquarius will take action to rectify that by way of the channels
available to change our current laws. Or, they just won't take them
seriously and could be prone to break that law just to make a point
or bring out the fact that it makes no sense or is not equally
applicable. They are not afraid to challenge authority especially in
the face of something they deem as unjust or...goddess
forbid...illogical.
Aquarius cares about being inclusive
and fair to all regardless of race, creed, social status, physical
ability or other distinguishable human difference in
appearance..after all, we each put our astronaut gear on one leg at a
time right? It supports unique human conditions instead of rejecting
or being fearful of them. It's also kind of inclined to take the side
of the underdog, the outcast or the forgotten in society.
Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury.
Mercury is a prankster. A joker, sometimes. But, Aquarius takes
Gemini's trickery and turns it into wizardry effortlessly pulling off
plans of the mastered mind without so much as a flicker of a grin.
The most you'll get from them is a raised eyebrow. These folks just
don't get excited and can become known for their unflappability. They
have thunder at their access should they need it. It's rare that its
deemed by them as “called for.”
Here's the thing though. Saturn in
Aquarius suffers no bullshit. It's natives can achieve unflappability
but the transit of this will mature us in a way that we can more
readily recognize tricks of manipulation such as gaslighting,
misinformation or manipulation of statistics or fact. Don't come to
Saturn in Aquarius with crocodile tears and whimpers or boisterous
conflated claims. He does not care. He wants proof. Evidence. Fact
and your logical and to the point explanation. He's not even going to
listen to you if you cannot control your humanness. Come back when
you can contain yourself and bring a spreadsheet or something.
The impact of that type of wisdom on
collective levels sounds good to me! I think we've been doused with
enough BS to last a lifetime lately. It's time to chill the
anticipated reaction to all those methods of tricky human control.
The transit of Saturn (and soon Mars and Jupiter) through Aquarius
will help us do that to a large degree. And, heaven help you if you
are being selfish or acting only out of self-concern causing
collateral damage to others. Saturn in Aquarius focuses on the “Needs
and welfare of the many...not the few.” Yes, the character of Spock
is a wonderful spokesperson for this energy as well as characters
like Yoda, Obi Wan...even Sheldon Cooper.
The transit of Saturn through Aquarius
in tandem with the transit of Uranus in Taurus will assist us
collectively in the reformation of outdated laws and standards. We
will be able to replace these outdated structures with boundaries of
law and regulation that more fully fit our modern world. Some of the
social constructs in our current systems have long expired and are in
need of an upgrade. Saturn's transit through Aqua will mark the
genesis of those efforts. We will see emergence of new leadership in
official or unofficial capacity and with it, the shaping of
boundaries that will better sustain the future we are collectively
trying to create. What we are experiencing right now is Saturn in
Aquarius just popping his head in to gut check us in our readiness
for his full fledged launch into the sign. This is not just a drill.
At the same time, though, Uranus in
Taurus and Saturn in Aquarius will inspire folks to gather together
in grass roots efforts to deal with specific problems in their
immediate area. These are beginning to stir and kick off right now
though it's not made a lot of noise just yet. There are structures
within our immediate neighborhoods that understand the importance of
the welfare of their community because they live in it and provide
services to the same. Keep an eye open. They are stepping forward
right now. They've identified a potential future need and taken it
upon themselves to initiate a positive and supportive response.
You will see these types of efforts
grow particularly in response to what we experience with Uranus
through Taurus because that transit has a tendency to strip us of our
comfort zones, worldly pleasures, excesses and sometimes even
threatens the basics such as food, shelter, utilities, money, etc.
The push toward holding accountability in our immediate and world
community when we are positioned to be able to will be inspired by
Uranus in Taurus. In 84 years or so, when Uranus comes back to
Taurus, we will be inspired on collective levels to look at the
social structures we will lay foundation for during this transit and
once again be challenged to bring them up to date. It's fairly easy
to predict...just don't tell Uranus that. He doesn't like to be known
as predictable. But, he's the modern ruler of a fixed sign who is
transiting a fixed sign; his unpredictability and defiance are
predictable.
It's wide, but Saturn in Aquarius
influences the New Moon by sextile. Uranus in Taurus creates aspect
too by way of semi-sextile. The energy from Saturn is felt as
supportive helping us take a logical and far reaching view of our
plans. While Uranus by semi-sextile attempts to pull the whole of our
efforts forward toward the future we are trying to create more so
than residing comfortably in the present we find ourselves in. It
adds a restless type of nature that yearns for something different.
And it's that yearning matched with the sober affect of Saturn which
is necessary in framing our intentions at this Moon.
Another deal is, of course, the New
Moon's conjunction to Chiron and BML in Aries. The conjunction to BML
is what dubs this as a “Micro” new moon. It's a new term I just
saw used within this year but if we are going to call Moon's that
fall in opposition to Lilith out as “Super” then we might as well
make reference to the Moon's that fall on the opposite end of that
elliptical path. So, while SUPER Moons open us to access to big Moon
energies. Micro Moon's call us more to a point of distant focus.
We are encouraged toward small steps
(specific, short intention statements) that lend to larger plans
meant to play out over the course of longer time period. At the same
time, we are being made aware of our personal “weak spots.” The
step back and take the long view type of approach to the New Moon is
supported by the “all planets direct” energy that we are also
receiving. With the influence of Aquarius/Uranus, the point we are
working toward is very distant, has many steps and many levels. We
are encouraged to pace ourselves accordingly, learning and
experimenting with the new as we go. We are true pioneers in our
world right now. At this New Moon, we are called to frame our
perspective around that fact while realizing our first steps need to
be small. We may fail from time to time. This is brand new stuff! We
shouldn't expect ourselves to have all the answers about a territory
we are only now putting our first footprints upon. Failure breeds
experience and wisdom. It doesn't mean we stop. We adjust. We
calculate results and probabilities and try again. This is the human
animal reaching forward in development..striving to improve and
evolve. Because, it's just what we do as a species.
Lilith's presence at this New Moon
actually vibes well with everything I described in the last
paragraph. In my experiences, Lilith's presence within a
configuration is a suggestion to step back in a way you can almost
alienate yourself from the situation. Sometimes we get sucked into
things too closely. Stuff feels really personal...as if we are under
attack for merely existing. It becomes hard to see the forest for the
trees. When that occurs, Lilith's energy can represent rage and the
ways in which we deal with the same. Therefore, seeing her hanging
around has become a cue to take a big step back from intense
situations. Those parts of us that are prone to raging in response to
Lilith's influence are hurting. That needs attention more than the
situation at hand. If we feel we may be taking things too personally,
at risk of looking at a situation too closely or feeling sucked into
it, exerting your right to exile is a means of allowing yourself
space and time to consider the situation from a safe distance.
Chiron in Aries is the wounded man.
This points to our hobbled conditions. Chiron's presence indicates
that any thing we initiate now is likely challenged from the start.
It could mean we have personal limitations that we will need to learn
to accommodate or overcome on our paths to bring our vision to
fruition. Some of that could include physical challenges. But, a lot
of it is framed with feelings of self-doubt or an inability to
perceive of how your small and seemingly insignificant personal
exertions could possibly make a difference in response to the vast
issues we are facing on collective levels. These may be initiatives
we undertake that we need assistance with or cannot do alone.
Chiron and Lilith's gatekeeper like
stance next to this New Moon lends to our collection of cues that
advises us to take a step back and heal. Take your time thinking
through what needs to be considered. Heal your angry spots that are
screaming for your attention instead of allowing anger to spread
outward toward others or implode. Regain perspective. From your
distance, mark what networks and resources are around you. Maybe you
cannot do it alone. Perhaps you do not have to. From this point we
are also encouraged to boil our precise overall goals down to a fine
pinpoint. Not unlike distilling a mission or vision statement to
describe the purpose of a multi-service business. Know what you are
trying to do and..be aware of your motivations for best results with
intention setting or launches at this New Moon.
Our guide at this New Moon is the King
of Pentacles.
There
are few standard deals with King cards that it would benefit us to
discuss. I was watching a television show recently that centered
around a monarchy. Before the young Queen had her coronation,a
matriarch advised her that she would need to take on a new persona
that could be removed from her own in effort to rule fairly and
effectively. It was a way of saying, when you are a supreme ruler
such as royalty, it's not a great idea to always let your own
instincts or opinions to become the law of the day. Instead, you want
to step aside from your personal wants or desires creating a persona
essentially “outside yourself” or even “elevated above
yourself” in effort to rule in an unbiased way that takes into
consideration the sum of its parts and the welfare of its dependents.
“With
great power comes great responsibility,” Advised Peter Parker's
uncle. “Power, it attracts the worst and corrupts the best,” so
sayeth Ragnar. When King's come in as advice it's a nudge to deal
with everything as if you were royalty. That means, you establish
your own style of ruling that is in accordance with the values and
principles of community/leadership which you hold dear. Lead in the
way you think that leadership should lead. Royalty cards are a sign
that you may have power at your disposal and to not allow that fact
to turn you into a tyrant.
King's
have a council to advise them. So, even though the advice of this
card comes with a lot of responsibility and once you get that far up
the ladder it can feel lonely, there are folks you can turn to for
advice. There are resources at your disposal.
At the
same time, people in powerful positions attract scavenger types.
Ensure your council is staffed with folks you trust and keep an ear
tuned in for whispers of treason or a coup. Also know, heavy is the
head that wears the crown, assuredly. Royalty typically cannot emerge
in public without their vision being dotted by camera flashes. Remain
aware that all eyes may be on you or your actions/words. There may
even be pictures or video of the event. Conduct yourself accordingly.
Use your platform with accountability and poised presence.
The
King of Pentacles, still has dirt under his fingernails and a few
splinters in his callused hands. He didn't inherit his kingdom. He
built it. From the ground up and was actively involved in the
entirety of the process from pouring the foundation, hiring of
professionals to the raising of funds. It is a result of a vision he
had a very long time ago. So, he does understand our ideas about
initiatives that create something great in the space where nothing
once held residence. He's practical though. These are not pipe dreams
he advises we invest in. He is looking for a willingness toward true
and intentional labor exerted in the interest of providing not only
for one's self but also for one's longevity and dependents. His
presence is a suggestion toward sobriety, realism and practicality.
It's advice to set long term goals that are broken down into small
incremental steps and to ensure we find value in what it is we are
trying to do.
This
King does the slow walk and is incredibility patient as well as
persistent. Enduring, generous and supportive. His guidance at this
New Moon is suggestive of slow walking it out of the gate more so
than hitting it at a dead run. Set a sustainable pace toward your
goal. Go through all the steps without feeling as if you need to rush
because you don't. You are building something of quality. Remember
the importance of your work and find value and gratitude for the
talents you are able to lend. Respect and admire these things from
others without feeling as if there is need to compete. Replace the
need to compete with a desire to cooperate, network, branch out and
accentuate the efforts toward your cause.
Many of us may find ourselves at the
crossroads of “humble beginnings” at this Moon. That doesn't mean
we won't feel inspired to advance our position. Quite the opposite.
The type of discomfort Uranus in Taurus instigates inspires movement.
The point being to make that movement conscious and purposeful while
maintaining one's own respect and worth graciously.
Taken on the whole, the energies at
hand call us to start small. Boil all the things we want to do or
achieve down to a core essence so that its simple to remember. All
Aries New Moon's are suggestive of intentions framed around “I”
statements. Mean what you say. Say what you mean. Make these concise
and to the point. Delineate as many steps as you can on your way
toward your goal while realizing there will be some unforeseeable
steps that reveal themselves in their own time. Fortify “core”
issues and supply for the anticipated needs of the same first. Then,
seek outward to perceive of the needs of the networks and communities
around you so that you may lend to their fortification as well.
Identify all possible alliances and resources while consistently
being on the lookout to add to your collection of these. Then, roll
up your sleeves and get your hands dirty in that very first step.
Know as we move forward we may fall back a few steps. Get up. Dust
off your ass. Keep going. Find your bottom line and stand on it.
Reinforce it's foundations and build upward from where you are.
Our Full Moon in Libra in two weeks
comes with the guidance of the Ace of Pentacles. As you are out there
doing what you do, keep your eyes open for opportunity to emerge
between now and then.
Dane Rudhyar's description
of the Sabian Symbols involved at this Moon:
For the Sun/Moon
PHASE 5 (ARIES 5°): A TRIANGLE WITH
WINGS.
KEYNOTE: The capacity for
self-transcending. This is the symbol of the desire to reach a higher
level of existence, of pure aspiration or devotion, of bhakti. What
has emerged in the first phase of the process of differentiation is
becoming aware of the possibility of further up-reachings. The
principle of “levitation” is seen as one of the two essential
factors in evolution. The emergent being glorifies and deifies it,
but it is still only an ideal. At this stage, nevertheless, the whole
being experiences a childlike longing for its eventual realization.
At this point the last and synthesizing stage of the first five-fold
unit in the cyclic process is reached. A NEW DIMENSION of being is
envisioned mobilizing creative endeavors.
For Mars, ruler of the New Moon:
PHASE 296 (CAPRICORN 26°): A NATURE
SPIRIT DANCING IN THE IRIDESCENT MIST OF A WATERFALL.
KEYNOTE: The ability to perceive the
hidden and creative spirit of natural phenomena. The Sabian symbols
make several references to nature spirits Here we are dealing with
the revelation of the spiritual or psychic forces related to the
element water. Water binds all living cells in a wholesome interplay.
It symbolizes the constant flow of vital energies, the fluidity of a
consciousness which finds itself
stimulated by change. The great cycle of water within the earth’s
biosphere (oceans, clouds, rain, river) symbolizes the basic phases
of universal life processes, the ascent and descent of emotional
energies and of love. We can personify these phases and speak of “the
soul of nature,” and at a cosmic level of “the World-Soul,”
anima mundi. Water is the substance of the telluric manifestations of
this soul. It is a magical substance, and modern chemists are
rediscovering in their study of its unusual behavior in certain
situations what old Alchemists in their own way no doubt understood.
This is the first stage of the sixtieth subcycle, and it presents us
with a deep intuition of superphysical energies which at the end of
this five-fold sequence we will see fully mastered (Phase 300). The
consciousness here becomes sensitized to the downward flow of OCCULT
ENERGY in its bountiful natural aspect

FILLED WITH PRECIOUS ORIENTAL RUGS. KEYNOTE: The use of cultural and
artistic processes as means to enhance personal comfort and
appreciation. Corning after the preceding symbol this one brings us
back to the material, yet esthetic, aspect of the benefits a society
can bring its members. A “rug” always implied to some extent
something on which a person stands or sits. It is a foundation for
cultural “under-standing,” and as such it can have a magical or
sacred meaning, as in the case of prayer rugs. The “woman in a
convent” probably knows only the bare floor, because her goal is
one of transcendence, of surrendering comfort as well as cultural
patterns. But to the social elite, or even to the oriental devotee
praying to his god, society offers the relative comfort of beautiful
rugs so he may meet the universe, not merely in terms of the support
the natural soil gives, but protected by and securely established on
the mental-spiritual as well as manual achievements of those who keep
the cultural symbols alive. This is the last symbol in the
fifty-ninth five-fold sequence. It shows the beautiful products of
dedicated and inspired group performance at the level of tradition.
It emphasizes the value of RELIANCE ON TRADITION.

From the “Way of Tarot” by
Alejandro Jodorowsky:
The King of Pentacles speaks, "I
hesitate to call myself 'king.' Having abandoned my palace, I appear
in the midst of Nature. I have swapped my crown for a hat that
protects me from the sun and rain. I look more like a merchant. I do
not have a mind for conquest and conspiracy, nor do I practice
charity; rather I rule by nonaction. It is wisdom I pursue,
represented by a pentacle floating in the sky. My earthly
possessions, represented by the pentacle I am holding in my hand,
have been reduced to a minimum, and I leave them in their rightful
place without wasting them. I compare myself to no one. I live off of
my work. I am in the present. I accept the endless accidents and
changes of material life. I allow myself to be carried away, knowing
that the universe has mysterious purposes and that if I do not know
them, I should obey them without casting doubt on them. The entire
planet is my kingdom. I have neither court nor army; my knowledge
consists of knowing nothing, my power of being unable to do anything,
my being at being nothing. I could be a monk, a Buddha, who mediates
having accepted his body as a temporary vehicle. Or I could be a
captain of industry with his figureheads, serene within his fiscal
paradise."
The King of Pentacles Clad comfortably
and without pomp, no crown but a hat, his throne is set up outside in
the middle of Nature; he has based his power on matter and stays in
contact with the Earth. He could perhaps be an industrialist, a
businessman, or a well-to-do farmer. He knows two forms of wealth:
the pentacle he is holding in his hand represents the money that he
already knows how to earn without excessive efforts and with
pleasure. The pentacle floating in the air that he is looking at
represents his action in the world, virtual money, or already
spiritualized matter.
The King of Pentacles could as easily
be a billionaire as he could be an entirely detached individual who
is living off the miraculous prosperity of the present. His negative
meanings include fraud, dirty money, and stock speculation. He could
also be an arms dealer or a seller of toxic products.
Your “bottom line” is the distilled
essence of what it is you need. Assess your “Kingdom” soberly.
What are your personal needs? In regard to survival or the launching
of your personal initiatives. From personal assessment, move to the
wards of your Kingdom. Your dependents. Those you call family or
friend. What are their needs? Can you anticipate your future needs or
that of your wards? What actions can you take now to provide for
those.
The King of Coins is a provider and
supporter. He not only provides for his own Kingdom but he provides
all the material goods for the all the Kingdoms. He began with a
vision to sustain himself. That grew into a vision to sustain a
Kingdom once his needs were met. Then, as the Kingdom was
established, he commandeered a way of commerce with the surrounding
Kingdoms to further provide for the needs of himself and his wards.
At his best, the King of Coins is a kind, patient, gentle and
generous King. He shares his wealth because he understands if all the
country folk thrive so does his Kingdom and by extension, his
neighboring Kingdoms.
So, if he (or you) finds himself and
his wards in good condition, he will then extend his gaze to these
neighboring Kingdoms in effort to anticipate their needs and seek
ways to barter, trade or provide the materials necessary to keep the
entirety in good supply or to monopolize upon the opportunity of
need. Of course, the way a person does this is dependent upon their
ethics and integrity. We are advised to rule and provide for
ourselves and for others in extension in way that supports our
personal values and is an illustration of what we personally believe
true and sound leadership should look like. In doing this, over the
course of the next two weeks as we make our way to the Full Moon in
Libra, opportunity emerges. A new source of resource be that money or
material goods. A new avenue of creating personal wealth. A new way
to monopolize upon what it is we already have or perhaps even the
funding we needed to expand in the direction we envisioned. When this
King discovers opportunity, he invests it wisely and in the best
interest of the growth of his own Kingdom. While following his
guidance, so shall we.
What is your bottom line? What
resources do you have to share (time, money, skills, supplies)? Is
this enough to meet the needs of your Kingdom? If not, are there
those you could trade or barter with providing them with the needs of
their bottom line and, in exchange, assisting to fulfill the needs of
your Kingdom? Who are your neighbors? How can you work together to
ensure the community of Kingdoms have what it is they need to
function? Should you find all that fulfilled, (#1 be grateful) where
or what do you plan to grow next and what needs must be met in order
for you to do that?
