Libra: A man watches his ideas taking concrete form before his inner
vision
The New Moon in Libra ushers us through
a new lunar cycle gateway on Saturday September 28 at 2:27 PM. At
that gate, we find the energy of the 4 of Coins to guide us. I think
as I walk with you through the next two weeks in this write up, the
relevance of the advice of the 4 will grow. This card advises that we
stabilize our resources. Protect what it is that is valuable. Invest
resources (money, energy, love, attention, etc) wisely into secure
venues with potential for return. Be resourceful. Stash some cookies
safely for yourself. Save some for a rainy day. Ensure that you are
well grounded. Well rooted. That the ground you stand on is solid and
the platform you operate from (core values) sound. Solidify and
protect your sense of self worth. This isn't about running around
greedily to gobble up resources. If we happen across opportunity,
though, this card suggests to snatch it up.
When we think of Libra isn't uncommon
to think of relationships. The concept of “other” or the
influence of energies that are outside of what we know to be our own.
As indicated by the Scales, Libra is also the sign of Justice.
Debate. Equality. Rightfully so as the season is kicked off by way of
bringing the hours of day and night into equal measure. Yet, Libra is
the natural law of cause and effect. Action and subsequent
consequence. The other side of the fence. The mirror image. The Full
Moon that falls in Aries every year during Libra season, reflects
back to us the fruits of the labors that we initiated in Springtime
in the Northern Hemisphere. It puts into full illustration that for
every action there is an opposite and equal reaction as well as
consequence that is incurred. We reap what we have sown both literally
and metaphorically during this harvest season.
So, in the Northern Hemisphere we look
back and contemplate the actions we took at the beginning of the
year. We reflect back upon the effectiveness of our actions and begin
to glean lessons from the passing year's happenings in effort to
apply them to the next planting.
At this Moon, we have several planets
just leaving stressful positions many of which already encountering
“trials by fire” as they traverse the “fiery way” found
between 15 Libra and 15 Scorpio. Specifically, thou, the ruler of
this Moon is not only walking the fiery way but also kind of trapped
in a conflagration of the Gods. We find Venus at an inconjunct with
both Neptune and Lilith. She has just left a Cardinal t-square with
the Nodal axis and Saturn...which definitely injected some
uncomfortable truths and trials that mixed past happenings with
future happenings showing us exactly where we needed to shore things
up. Become a little more disciplined. Those aspects wane now. But,
because they are captured still within orb at this New Moon, any
happenings related to those transits carry a residual impact upon the
cycle of this lunation.
Venus now waxes in square to Pluto.
That tells us that her eventual square to the Dark Lord will impact
how this lunar cycle proceeds. Plus, we also have Venus sextile
Jupiter letting us know that energy carries forward with us too. So,
what that means is that Venus is trapped and being tested as we move
forward.
I'm pointing out Venus because she is
in her domicile in Libra and it is Libra season. She is quite
relevant at this time as ruler of this New Moon. There is nothing
about the position we find her in that is comfortable. That's kind of
big deal to Venus. She is yearning though. She is yearning and
wanting in aspect to Jupiter. Dreaming of broad horizons. Lighter
days of freedom and fun. Yet, just beyond that sunset...lies the
shade. The darkness and temptations that emanate from Pluto. And,
that is the energy that will usher Venus into the sign of depth,
shadow and darkness, Scorpio on October 8. Fun thing being, as Venus
does officially square Pluto...he is also stationing to turn direct.
That station coincides with the Venus square meaning, the alluring,
dark and tempting energy of Pluto is extraordinarily potent at that
square.
Sabian for Venus, ruler
of the New Moon, at Symbol for 18 Libra Two men placed under arrest
Venus officially squares Pluto on
October 1st just after midnight EDT. The Moon is active in
Scorpio at that time meaning emotions likely run deep and shadow
psyche issues could infiltrate how we feel and what we do in response
to getting what it is we want. What are we willing to do for
pleasure, comfort or even how we go about obtaining tangible wealth
such as money or goods. The demons, fears and past relationship
histories that impact our ability to form healthy relationships in
present day all come out to literally and metaphorically haunt us as
we move forward. There could even be actual hauntings or just
feelings of being haunted as the veil continues to thin and these
socially unacceptable Venus demons emerge. When the Moon leaves
Scorpio and enters the sign of Sagittarius on October 2, Pluto
officially moves to turn direct at 10:55 PM EDT at 20 Capricorn 38.
Yet, at this New Moon we are given an
opportunity to get our heads “right” about all that ahead of
time. The New Moon itself is held in opposition to Chiron in Aries
and at an inconjunct to Uranus in Taurus. The opposition to Chiron
strives to pull us out of the more shadowy Libra mentality that has
tendency to blame all it's issues on the illusive “other.” Chiron
says, there are ways in which YOU...yes YOU do things wittingly or
unwittingly to wreck healthy relationship potential and it's probably
echoing in your tangible resources in some way too.
I know that's not what anyone wants to
hear. But, I get too many requests for readings about money, love and
relationships to pretend that finding out there is something you can
take charge of change in effort to build healthier relationships and
amass more personal resource in the future would these things not
considered important by a lot of folks.
The inconjunct to Uranus offers an
opportunity to get more clear about what it is that important to us.
It can also show us what it is we find intolerable and help us to
make wiser decisions in regard to choosing folks to partner with in
the first place. To be sincere, Uranus in Taurus can be quite the
antidote for the influence that Neptune and Lilith are bringing to
Venus by the same type of aspect. It helps us to take a step back. It
gives us an opportunity to take a detached look at matters of value
instead of becoming fully immersed in wants, desires while perhaps
even assisting us in recognizing ways in which we compromise our self
worth and core personal values just to maintain relationships or to
feel secure (which...isn't a good thing, btw).
That energy, though caught through
minor aspect, is quite helpful with Neptune and Lilith's potential
negative side effects upon Venus. Neptune enchants us with fully
immersion into the wiles of Venus. But, Lilith? Whenever she is
around there is a lot of potential for rage. Resentment. Perhaps
dealings with vengefulness and feelings of being rejected. Lilith was
socially unacceptable because she chose to not to do as expected.
Unfortunately, this is not only something that the sign of Libra
struggles with but also something women in general have dealt with
throughout history. If you get sucked in and enchanted by Neptune and
then rejected like Lilith...it hurts. But, the best way to deal with
it is to welcome Lilith's exile. Take your leave and dismiss yourself
from it. I mean, you didn't want to sit at their damn lunch table
anyway, right? Take the exile as an opportunity to step back and look
at matters of relationship from a distance realizing Neptune may give
us no other choice than to get swept away in it. Neptune doesn't know
what it means to allow folks to have a choice. I am of the opinion
that when Neptune hits a planet harshly...folks can fight and claw
and try to cling to shore but eventually Neptune's forces are going
to win out. Which means, he could indeed force us into a feeling of
our own personal kind of exile while he is traveling with Lilith. Add
to that Chiron in Aries' tendency to put the ways in which we deal
malefically in the face of anger (which travels right along with
feelings of resentment, ineffectiveness or as if one even has the
right to exist) along with Uranus in Taurus' tendency to wreck the
whole China shop and it is not hard to see how things could go really
wrong quite quickly.
How we deal with anger and engage with
the folks around us is important as we move forward through this
lunation, too. Mars enters the sign of Libra (a place where he is NOT
comfortable at all) just after midnight on 10/4. That is about 12
hours ahead of the First Quarter Moon in this cycle that very
strongly includes Saturn and the nodal axis. Meaning, Sun is square
Saturn and the Moon is conjunct while ALL that overlays our past (SN)
and our collective future (NN) in a very challenging way. And...where
do we find the outlet for that pressure? Aries. And where is the
ruler of Aries...lol..on his face in Libra right near a big fat black
hole (around 2 Libra) and waxing toward an opposition to Chiron in
Aries (10/8). Plus, Mercury is seething and thought
looping...potentially fixated and obsessed. Shrouded in shadow from
the sign of Scorpio. He enters the sign on 10/3.
Mars in Libra can turn love and matters
of relationship into a battlefield. We may find ourselves constantly
at odds or simply aggravated with others. Mercury in Scorpio will
not likely allow us to just forget about it or deny it. Talk about
potential for making a hot mess. Mercury isn't ready to play nice.
If we set our brains from the jump at
this New Moon to realize that “this” is not about anyone else but
ourselves, things go a lot more smoothly. It's not about “he treats
me this way” or “she always does this and it makes me so angry”
or whatever. It's about what you are doing. Or not doing. Realizing
that puts the ball of control back in our court. See, just as Mars in
Libra can cause friction and conflict with others in general, it can
also be employed differently encouraging us to be healthfully
assertive in relationships. Instead of fighting and warring within
relationships we can learn to defend them (when we deem them worthy
of it)...even if, at times, we have to defend them from ourselves.
From our passive aggressive or self-destructive tendencies. Our
angers or rotting resentments. Or, our shadows, fears, past
conditionings, expectations, negative attachments and belief that we
have no control over how our relationships go. Because, we do.
Relationships aren't only about the “other.” Takes two to tango.
The relationship and how it goes is a whole lot about each individual
involved in them including YOU. Not only you. But, without you it is
kind of a moot point, no? Given that's the only part of the
relationship dynamic that we have any control over, that makes this
tenuous time quite rich to learn a thing or two. It could be quite
humbling, actually. As well as healing.
Right after the pressure of this First
Quarter Moon, Mercury in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus on Oct 7 at
2:17 AM under an active Aquarius Moon. Even though the Sun still
waxes to officially square Saturn under this Moon, this is actually a
sweet spot within the lunation cycle. The Aquarius Moon can help us
become more observant and less immersed in matters that stir
emotional energies. An ability to be emotionally observant can help
us monopolize upon the information that is released in the good ol'
“aha!” fashion moments of Mercury opposite Uranus.
AHA! I'm short-changing myself by
letting my fear of intimacy run the show!
AHA! I'm not connecting fully with
folks due to past abuses or misaligned conditioning!
Stuff like that.
Together these two produce energy that
is quite prone to call out the elephant in the room, too. See, this
can translate into having difficult conversations that are long over
due. It supports us in talking to folks we trust about subject matter
we find generally uncomfortable or that we may be personally
struggling with. Yet, at it's root, the happenings of this opposition
operates to catalyze us toward an awareness of how shadowy or fearful
mentalities/thinking patterns and ways of expressing our thoughts and
ideas actually kind of wreck our chances at creating a sense of
self-worth, stability and may even prevent us from aligning with our
own sense of core values. It will be extremely helpful to have plenty
of Air present with this aspect as it waxes in.
After the disciplining of the Sun by
Saturn and the enlightenment of Mercury by Uranus (both on 10/7),
Venus dives into Scorpio (10/8) and the tone of Libra season morphs
and intensifies a little more. We will have previewed themes we will
likely be dealing directly with (personally and collectively) during
Venus' stay in Scorpio while she was in square to Pluto on Oct 1.
Remember, those Venus/Pluto themes echo throughout this lunar period.
Venus' entry into Scorpio coincides
with the traditional ruler of Scorpio, Mars, coming into opposition
with Chiron in the OTHER sign Mars rules...Aries. We are wounded and
we are hungry. How we respond to that is going to tell us a lot. A
LOT. However, we will be tasked with dealing with the emotional
aspect of that before we will really be able to discern our next
steps.
The Moon enters Pisces on Oct 9. She is
fat. She is sensitive. And, lots of folks probably will be too The
rulers of Pisces (Jupiter and Neptune) are still at odds by square.
Jupiter is busy exposing while Neptune (still retrograde) is pulling
back the tides of delusion and lies. With the Moon ruled by and
within that mix while waxing toward full...it would be super easy to
spin out. The best course of action is to get a place where you deal
with your emotional self safely and healthfully.
The Moon enters Aries at midnight on
10/12. By then, we are ready to walk out of any emotional hangovers
and engage. Yet, emotions are still high as the Moon continues to wax
and the rest of the road toward our Full Hunter's Moon is littered
with triggers and instigators.
The Aries Moon begins her trek on the
morning of the 12th by lighting that Mars/Chiron
opposition up. The Moon in Aquarius was Void when this opposition
culminated. But, the Aries Moon gives it a punch on personal
emotional levels. Yet, the information we receive here is quite
relevant as the Moon's passage through this configuration happens as
Mercury in Scorpio trines the North Node.
At the end of the day on the 12th,
Venus in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus. This is uncomfortable.
Dissatisfying. It could send shock waves through or expose fractures
within things that we care for or want very deeply. It even has
potential to rock global financial markets in some way.
It is also energy that can be used for
toward our own benefit. In terms of relationship themes, this is the
time to decide to break personal malefic relating habits. Could be
things you've done over the course of your relationship history that
you are only now becoming aware of. This energy can catalyze us
toward making changes in these areas that help us steer ourselves
away from such personal pitfalls.
The same is true in areas of money. If
you experience this opposition as a windfall or a wipe out in the
financial department, ways in which you handle your finances will
evolve. It could even be due changes in the financial system that are
out of our control. With an opposition, that's actually fairly
likely. This is where we can increase our personal expertise in
regard to matters of Venus (love/money) type exchanges and uses of
Venus power in an effort to create a sense of personal stability in a
universal time of uncertainty and change. At the very least, it sets
us up for the opportunity to discover what it is that is truly
important to us or provide us with opportunity to create personal
wealth and stability in new ways. Problem with that being...lol...the
Moon is full as it happens and we are nuts.
The blessing/curse in this is exposed
as the Sun in the Libra and Moon in Aries each find Jupiter by
amicable aspect as the Full Moon in Aries culminates on the evening
of 10/13. Jupiter is an energy that can go really good or really bad
fairly quickly. What's key in it is aiming for the more beneficial
attributes of Jupiter. Remember a sense of humility. Maintain your
ability to laugh at yourself. Check yourself for perspective ensuring
you are not looking at something too closely or taking something too
seriously. Jupiter at his best is warm. Generous. Wise. Benevolent.
Optimistic. Knowledgeable. Truthful. Willing to learn and grow. At
his worst he is boastful. Laughs at the expense of others.
Egotistical. Exaggerative. Exploitive. Professes he already knows it
all.
The Full Moon that brings this Lunar
cycle to climax, occurs on 10/13 5:08 PM. It makes a Cardinal
t-square with Pluto. The outlet for that t-square falls in Cancer.
Plus, it all goes down while Hecate stands guard. The Queen of the
witches is found at 27 Libra at the Full Moon in Aries. Her presence
within the mix of all these planetary energies tells us that on
personal and collective levels, we are at an important crossroads. We
have choices. They are important ones. Those who are capable of
dealing with their emotions healthfully, proactively and bravely will
fare the best. But, going in, our guidance says we need to get our
feet underneath us. Check our foundations. Ensure we are standing on
strong and sensible values and investing our resources wisely. The
way ahead does look pressurized and at times shadowy. But, that is
all par for the course at this spooky time of year. The more well
rooted and grounded we are the more able we are to handle what we
need to as we move forward. Plus, if we are supporting ourselves on a
sturdy foundation of solid values, the decisions we may need to make
as we move through this trial by fire and crossroads period come much
more easily.
