The symbols
The Full Moon crests on
Monday morning at 4:31 AM EDT
26 Gemini: Winter frost in the
woods.
Frost in the season of Gemini in my
neck of the woods is rare. But, recently we had weather that
represented just about every season in one day except for Summer.
More so than weather with this symbol, I think of things like a
petrified forest or how a seemingly small act of nature can change or
alter a landscape drastically. Either way, petrified or frozen the
scene here is very quiet which is also not so typical of Gemini.
26 Sagittarius: A flag bearer: A
flag bearer has a message that needs no words. This message is
conveyed just by holding up the flag and it's symbols. It heralds the
troop that follows as well as what that troop may stand for. But,
also? When in battle, it was common to look for the location of your
flag or that of your allies on the battlefield as it marked your
troop's progress and very likely the area of the troop's leader. When
the flag bearer falls or the flag itself is lost to the enemy, it's a
sure sign of defeat. This is considered a place of high honor. And,
it is said that if the bearer is fatally wounded in battle they would
wrap themselves in the flag to die rather than allow it to simply
fall to the ground without them.
Jupiter: Tiny children in
sunbonnets. “protected from the Sun” advises Bovee. I see
also casting shade or sheltering from blazing egos. Bovee: “think
of attempting to put something delicate into words. The idea is
communication through Sag 18 is not for everyone. Perhaps you have to
find someone who speaks your language. Perhaps its like belonging to
a club that determines certain matters are only discussed within the
club.”
It can also denote denial of the truth
or metaphorically “burying” your head in the sand. It can mean
having the truth hidden from you or someone's attempt to “protect”
you from the truth. With Jupiter in square to Neptune, it can also be
indicative of a time to listen instead of “pronounce” or to
refrain from boasting...cover your mouth while laughing or just to
remember a good dose of humility never hurt anyone.
This can also be sheltering your more
sensitive parts from public exposure. The energy of now is very
sensitive. As this is a Jupiter ruled Moon and we are also high
stepping into the ecliptic, there may be some deeply catalytic stuff
revealed within the collective or on personal levels. A lot of what
I'm seeing deals with personal trauma in our histories as well as the
re-experiencing of it, triggering in relation to it or even the
personal witnessing of similar occuring to someone else. With that,
it's fine to shelter yourself and your experience as you process the
emotions in regard to it. I think folks who have experienced trauma
have a tendency to forget that part. It's almost as if, at times, we
feel obligated to re-tell our story so that it may be a “light' to
others or help someone else through their experience. But, you can be
supportive and not bare your soul if it pushes you backward or into a
dark place. You are allowed to protect yourself and deal with things
on a level that is comfortable to you while releasing your grip on
any attachment to an obligation to re-open your wounds for public
benefit. IT IS OK TO JUST TAKE CARE OF YOU WHEN YOU ARE IN NEED OF IT
without pressuring yourself even if someone “out” there may
benefit from it. Just setting that boundary for yourself? IS modeling
the most effective form of self care without the need to martyr or
re-victimize yourself in the process. Either way, this is an
indication of protecting the sensitive, vulnerable and potentially
naive from “exposure” even if that entity is you, your sore
spots, “your story” and your inner child.
Some will step forward as “flag
bearers” for a cause or for the purpose of education, assistance or
reform. In that they show us what they stand for without question but
may or may not provide details of the path that led them to that
position. How they “got” there is a personal matter. All the
public needs to know is they now stand for whatever it is their flag
represents.
Mercury: Venetian gondoliers giving
a serenade.
This is a soft song meant to bring
relaxation, comfort and perhaps even catalyze romantic feelings with
the passengers. It is not an overbearing noise but one that lingers
softly like an undertone in the background to set the mood.
Notations
The scene is set. The backdrop is quiet
except for soothing songs in the background. Folks reveal what they
stand for without saying a word. The children are safely sheltered on
this sunny day. The “frost in the woods” is quite picturesque
likely presenting to us some sort of surreal “snapshot” in time
be that for our collective condition or on personal levels.
I hear often that the Full Moon in
Sagittarius is a time to reveal your truth. Which is certainly
applicable on some fronts. It's just, I prefer it to be phrased
“reveal your wisdom” instead. Just because you are proclaiming
the truth or making a statement that does not mean that you are doing
it with wisdom in tow. Wisdom heralds maturity and personal
experience as well as good bit of patience and generosity. That is
the positive swing of Jupiter which is vastly different than how we
experience him “at his worst.” At his worst, he is boastful,
arrogant, knows it all without exception, loud and...even...at times
narcissistic and purely ego driven. His positive swing is gentler,
quieter, calmer, more warm than fire poker hot plus he is
faithfilled, generous and laughs warmly.
Mars sits mid-way between Saturn and
Pluto in opposition at this Full Moon. Mercury is right behind him
preparing to make the same aspects and due to soon enter his
retrograde shadow. There is strain. Hardship. Confusion. Pressure and
deeply seated emotional issues that revolve around the concept of
dealing with things like anger and aggression are emerging. In turn,
it's a good idea to “shelter the children” from the harsher
elements because they literally could be in danger of being
“over-exposed.” Mercury, Mars, NN and Juno still indicate our
commitment, mindset and actions are best shaped around the
co-creation of a kinder, gentler, healthier and more empathic world
for those in the line of its inheritance.
As much as the sign of Sagittarius
speaks of public proclamations, truth, publishing and what have you,
to me, this Full Moon in Sagittarius says “forget everything you
know.” Which fits. I've yet to meet a Sagittarius (or a an Aquarius
for that matter) yet, that doesn't already KNOW everything. But,
here? We all basically know nothing. Plus, not only do we
collectively “Know nothing” we also cannot see that far ahead.
The windshield on the vehicle of life is obscured by rain, fog and
uncertainty. It's one of those times where it's best to slow down so
that you don't “over drive” your headlights or hydroplane. If you
can't see the “bigger picture” accurately, pull in your
perspective to encircle what is clear. Our ability to fully and
physically assert ourselves using the vehicle of life is hindered by
conditions out of our control. Yet, we are still called forth and
compelled to keep going on the journey.
On top of that, even though there is no
real deadline to meet in getting to our destination, we feel rushed.
Our bodies are responding to the uncertainty and fear of that which
we feel we cannot control (as nature's design intended) with that
instinctual visceral response to what is perceived by our other
systems as “dangerous or threatening” thus catalyzing the anxious
“need to rush or run” feel. When I first started catching myself
responding to the “rushed” feeling it was really difficult to
step myself down from it, learn to breathe through it, ground and
then channel what remained into effective creative action. It gets
easier with practice.
Perhaps, though, we lean into that
“false rush” acting upon our initial inclinations. Then, our
initial attempt fails to effectively engage with the circumstances
making us feel even more weak, vulnerable and out of control.
We are being called to heal the ways in
which we engage, initiate, fight, exert our physical prowess or
compensate for lack thereof as well as being called toward healing
the body physical (vehicle of life) through the influence of Chiron
in Aries. The North Node in Cancer calls us to acts of
self-nurturing, learning about what it is we personally need for good
healths all round the board (physical, mental, spiritual, emotional).
Occurring all while we are also being softened by the tremendous
amount of water in the atmosphere being pushed forth by Neptune.
It's change. Better yet, it's the
herald of incoming changes that I've heard MANY pray or wish for!
But, in that change, the individual is not omitted. We have to adopt
and exert the “new” ways and course correct in our own lives to
meet the challenge of the change itself. It can be taken on
incrementally. The more quickly we accept that our familiar ways of
going about things simply are not working anymore the more quickly we
free ourselves up to learn or personally sculpt out a better way.
Welcome to the classroom that is going to “Teach” us. Willing
student or not. Forget everything you know.
No...I don't like it. But, as I've
recently discovered, it really doesn't matter if you like it or not.
It is what it is.
Does that mean we all just lay down and to pacify or couch surf, head in the sand
ostrich or just magically become ok with “this is how things are”
in our lives or risk losing everything in the material sense that you
have acquired in order to give yourself some much needed time off and
space for recovery?
Ha. Absolutely not. We are just being
called to engage differently in comparison to that which we are
accustomed. Again, forget everything you know. Remain flexible,
curious and willing to learn. Benefit (Venus and Jupiter) is found in
(the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius) personal growth/expansion,
perspective, curiosity, flexibility, friendships, clear
communication and a healthy sense of humor.
The impressions:
Now, I'll tell you, I've written this
blog for the Full Moon 3 times and scrapped it 3 times. It was not a
problem of finding information or messages. It was a problem of SO
MUCH information that I didn't even know where to begin. Finally,
late Saturday evening, after having scrapped the 3rd write
up, I stopped and gave some more thought to the sign of Sagittarius
because my mind mostly wants to drift forward into the ecliptic.
Well...lately my mind (Mercury) and just about everything else in my
chart, has been drifty any way because this 18 degree stuff happening
in the sky creates mutable crosses and Cardinal crosses with my
natal planets and on the inside that feels a whole lot like chaos.
Anyway, Sagittarius is also the story teller. I thought, how
wonderful it would be if I could have a story to tell in the blog for
this Full Moon that captures the essence of what it is all about. It
wasn't 20 minutes or so later and I started getting messages, phone
calls and statements directed in such a Jupiterian manner they were
kind of hard to miss. I didn't get ONE story, I got many. Too many to
succinctly put into any type of form. But, I did jot down the themes
and will share them with you before we get into talking about our
Guide for this lunation.
Celebrity deaths
particularly those we have lost by way of overdose or suicide: Kind
of stands on its own but the “ghosts” of folks who have passed
who held celebrity status are re-appearing with their collective
messages. As a global community, we have got to come together and
find a way to better address things like mental/emotional health as
well as addiction. And...that is just common sense.
Thematic stories of a
“walk down memory lane.” The thing is these have not been
leisurely strolls nor voluntary. There seems to be a “flowing well”
of memorial information that has been unleashed for folks under the
energetic influence of Mercury/Mars in Cancer as well as the Jupiter
and Neptune square. Most of what I'm seeing with this are things
being excavated that many have long forgotten. But, soon,
they realize that the scripts from those memories or the “impression”
the experience left has led to the shaping of the personality and the
behavior in some way. Folks are immersed in these memories in vivid
detail and are coming to a more firm understanding of themselves and
their emotional makeup as a result. Now, this hasn't come without
pain. As a matter of fact if there is pain with a memory then it is
pointing you to a place that needs further healing. The thing being,
sometimes there is guilt, shame and remorse with it. However, this
sky is greatly supportive of acceptance and self-forgiveness. We
don't receive wisdom. We must discover it for ourselves after a
journey that no one can take for us or spare us—Marcel Proust. This
is your walk on the journey of wisdom. Set your own pace and know
what it is delivered out of the memorial sea is meant to help you
heal and grow. The knowledge contained therein is for you and you
alone. It doesn't HAVE to be shared. But, if you feel it may be
worthy to some else there is no rule saying you cannot share what you
find. Just know that you are not obligated to use your experience to
instruct others unless you feel ready. (I kind of get sick and tired
of folks being told they are suffering for the benefit of someone
else who is dealing with the same. You are NOT obligated to re-open
your wounds for the benefit of any one else AND what you experience
MIGHT BE helpful to someone else who goes through similar. But, it's
total bullshit to tell someone that their pain had meaning because it
might benefit someone else. Your experience is for you and sometimes
a painful experience has no other meaning other than sometimes bad
shit happens to good people. Sharing your wisdom and experience is at
your discretion. It is not an obligation.)
KITCHEN ACCIDENTS! I totally almost
missed this and am grateful to the person I was speaking with that
relayed her experience and I'm sure she will heal just fine. But, I'm
not only seeing near misses but real time happenings of cuts and
burns particularly in and around the kitchen and ESPECIALLY the
chance of being distracted by this “drifty” atmosphere thus
incurring injury. This can take place outside of the home, of course
and it relates to Mars and Mercury in near proximity in the sign of
Cancer. Distraction is a thing! Plus, tis the season of lawn mowers,
weed eaters, trimmers and sharp things. Be careful with your
appendages and don't attempt to work with potentially dangerous
machinery if you are not on a focused and even keel emotionally. (I,
personally, nearly whacked off a finger trying to separate ravioli
the other night)
Dreams about and visions of angels. I
participated in conversations about dreams, visions and even an
astrological discussion of how a certain type of “guardian angel”
is represented in a natal chart. In the information world, facts and
happenings are very much skewed. But, the information we are
receiving from “spirit” or in dreams? Has been poignantly
relevant even if we have to sit with the information for a bit for it
to have any clarity.
Fevers and Illness: Yep. With Jupiter
and Neptune along with the influx of Neptune, illness is a thing.
Plus, with so much water and Neptune stationing, our boundaries
against illness are more permeable. Health has risen to such an
important degree under this sky and we are all encouraged to focus
our energies on dealing with any personal health issue FIRST AND
FOREMOST before we go off to try to help or nurse others.
Depression and
mental/emotional illness: Par for the course that this would
be thematic. As physical health issues are exacerbated and memories
are excavated, issues with things like this crop up right along with
them. This will be one factor that grows in importance as we move
forward. Mercury enters his RX shadow around 6/23. He turns Rx
following the NM eclipse in Cancer from the early degrees of Leo.
But, his retrograde path does bring him back into Cancer before he
turns direct. The theme of this Mercury retrograde deals with ALL THE
HEALTHS but will also show us how our way of interpreting and
interacting with emotional/intuitive information, the women (mother
figures in our lives) and our core teaching about emotions feed into
how we choose to express (or suppress) ourselves.
Resistance and Flow: Ah...this thing.
This is a type of feminine energy exertion that I don't really enjoy.
And, that's a thing I've learned recently that has actually been
pretty helpful. I'm the type that thinks “You'll do it and you'll
like it! (Venus sq Saturn)” So, when I figure out how something
works and I don't like I feel like I have failed. It was greatly
freeing to learn..HA! I DON'T HAVE TO LIKE IT! I am hyper-scheduled.
I like to know what I'm doing ahead of time and enjoy my activities
neatly scheduled and wrapped up in a tiny bow. Plus, I'm
hyper-documented. So, if you ask me what I was doing at 1 PM on
2/23/2004 (or whatever) chances are I can flip through my personal
notes/diaries/blog entries and give you a pretty good assessment of
what that was. But with this slurry of stuff? Heh...my ego really
takes a beating because it likes to be in control calling this shots.
This calls for things like surrender, acceptance and a high amount of
faith in the concepts of divine timing. I perceive it as if I were
looking at all my tasks lined up and labeled on pedals (like the
brake, gas, clutch pedals of a car). When you attempt one task and
meet with resistance or feel like you are “spinning your wheels”
let off the pressure on that pedal and push another and another until
you find one that flows forward more easily. Under this system, I've
no freaking idea what I'm doing day to day and it drives me a little
batty. However, this is the best way to make any kind of progress
right now without wasting your time on things in which the “wheels”
grab no traction. Struggles with this type of surrender/flow clashes
with our egos. I gotta big one of those so...yeah, I can do this but
don't like it one little bit.
Ineffectiveness in speech:
There is a dynamic in which certain topics have been discussed and
discussed and brain screwed to death both upon our personal timelines
as well as certain points of collective history. We have granted
loads of mental energy and brain space to these things in discussion
to a degree that it now feels very repetitive and mundane. And you
know, I read a thing the other day was written about the concept of
“nagging” which Cancer/Mom/Females are often accused of. But.
BUT, it goes further to say that in the instance of “nagging”
(which to me not something that women do in a failed manner but
moreso a disconnect with who they are talking to in that they are
being ignored, passed over, misunderstood or having their words
diminished by the listener in some way) there is a sure sign in the
stoppage of it that tells you “she's done talking and asking
because she has gotten to the point that she doesn't care anymore.”
Which is TRUE. BUT, also, if we look at the ideal form of Mother, she
may fatigue herself trying to get her point across. And, in light of
that, instead of talking about it she starts implementing or doing
whatever it is on her own or by alternative means. Plus, the “Mother”
is not really one for lectures. In the best light she tells you the
things you need to hear whether you choose to hear it or not. But she
is less a direct leader and more of a “herder” in that she can
steer and guide without ever saying a word. So, if you are one of
those that feels you are not being heard or that you cannot put your
feelings/thoughts into words...try a medium outside of the verbal.
Pictures. Songs. Artistic expression. Or, if you've been lamenting
something over and over verbally with no satisfactory response then
just shut up and figure out how to “do.” Or, if you are “done
talking” get busy doing.
“I can't”---this
is a phrase I'm hearing and seeing pop up quite a bit and to me it
correlates directly to Chiron in Aries. I always think of my own
generation with this placement and how it is we “dealt” on the
whole. My generation had Uranus opposed whereas the generation that
is born in this time will have Uranus leading in semi-sextile. And,
here's the thing...maybe YOU all by yourself can't. My generation
compensated for physical and individual “can'ts” by creating
networks of friends. We lament ourselves as the “forgotten”
generation and many of us experienced the whole latchkey/broken home
scenario as well as the breakdown of traditional relationship roles.
Plus, we were born in a war weary world that largely was DONE with
things like fighting, warring, killing and the more toxic forms of
masculinity. While Chiron is in Aries we are called to personally
detoxify from these things (anger, aggression, basic identity issues),
accept our personal physical limitations and then seek outward for
inventive solution. With Uranus in Taurus those solutions will come
more so from practicality and common sense than any thing else. So, if
you find yourself wrapped up in a wail of “I can't”
then...ok...accept that. But, don't stop there. Look for the common
sense answer and be willing to experiment with new and potentially
untried methods. Plus, many of these “can'ts” become possible
when we pull in our circle of perspective to the places we live and
begin creating grass roots and local networks that meet the needs of
the community without sitting and waiting for the necessary changes
to be made in our government systems...that may or MAY NOT happen
folks. Either way, the issues are still relevant and we can make
gradual and impactful change in our personal communities by way of
networking and gathering together to fulfill a need much more quickly
than something that trickles down from “those at the top.”
Incremental and gradual
daily changes that re-emphasize and illustrate the benefit of self
care: We hear self-care being preached about a lot. Some feel
this is a call to duck in our caves and do nothing but pamper
ourselves. Honestly, if that's what you need at this time and you can
do that, I'd say go for it. BUT, if you are unable to wholly focus
your efforts on this than there are smaller ways you can about it
without it feeling like another “task” on your list that you are
failing to achieve. For example, several years ago I had dedicated
Sunday nights to nail care. It was very routine until my routine of
that time got blown apart. So, I re-implented it recently with foot
soaks/detox and self pampering on Sundays again AS A SPIRITUAL TYPE
OF RITUAL. The routine has held well thus far and has actually
captured a few followers/participants. So...sorry to my husband,
Ox...the “world of nets” is going to know that you can be found
pampering your Ox hooves with me every Sunday night. (I may or may
not tell them I find this adorable as fuck). Little changes make a
big difference folks and it can be incorporated as part of your
Spiritual routine and does NOT have to be complicated.
Ah...conjunct a black
hole: To me this is the most appropriate thing given the
“feel” I have at this Full Moon. It's so..encompassing and, as I
said, it's not that there is a LACK information..it is that there is
so much of it in the external world and the inner world that it
swirls together in a sea of WTF? And, here's the thing...unlike most
culminations at a Full Moon, the emotional energy following this one
really doesn't drop but starts to get even more swirly, confusing and
we remain open and permeable to it as the energy takes its uptick to
the quickening of the eclipses. BECAUSE OF THIS, we use more energy
doing the simple mundane day to day tasks than we normally would. So,
schedule some time off for your inner “super hero” because that
chic is gonna be tired and strained enough just by trying to take
care of the everyday things let alone swooping around out there
saving the world. Do what you can healthfully can and learn to be
alright with that because the thing that is telling you “it's not
enough” is wounding and your flailing ego. In the “real world”
no one really sets, makes or breaks their day in response to what you
are able to manage or not manage within it.
going down the drain:
I picture everything swirling into that massive big black hole,
getting transformed and shot out the other side. This was a poignant
part of the experience that I had attempting to write about this full
moon. It was like trying use a kitchen sieve to strain the ocean...my
vessel is too small to process the entirety of the information
swirling about out there. There is, though, “sinking” feeling
that comes with that. Perhaps an “anxious” response to the sudden
feelings of weightlessness matched against overwhelm as things are
first brought to surface, we are baptized in it and then it's “shed,”
re-incorporated or drained away. But, what is happening is we are
re-inventing our personal stories based on new wisdom and maturity
that we have gleaned in the time that has passed between “memory”
and now. Our perspective changes due maturity and thus so do the
stories that go along with them. It is an alchemical process that is
allowing us to spin gold from the more leaden or cold types of
memory. But, it can be very energetically taxing even though it is
quite a worthy process. Plus, it requires a certain skill set that is
performed by collectively atrophied muscles. These “muscles” are
the ones we use to process and deal healthfully with ourselves on all
levels. The “softer” skills we need to support, nurture, heal and
grow. This is what is getting the true workout here and much of that
work? It's done subsurface in ways that are hard to put into words
but certainly felt and dealt with by our energetic systems. In other
words, we are processing a great deal on the inside and that may, in
turn, effect how much physical energy we have to exert on the
outside. Expenditure of this energy may or may not produce “goods,
wares or services” in the outside and materialistic world. We may
feel as if we are failing our physical production standards. Be easy
on yourself. There's lots swirling out there and we are all more
susceptible to it. Slow down. Set your pace. Deal as you can with
what you can while taking care of you in the process. Step back known
energy “drains” and expenditures reserving what you have for the
things you prioritize. It's much likened to experiencing an undertow,
rip current, or wash out kind of energy when Neptune stations. Not
unlike trying to sprint in knee deep water. The work/healing
happening inside you and your personal health are worthy to make
focus. Anything you accomplish in the outside world above and beyond
that is icing on the cake.

Our guide for the Full
Moon in Sagittarius is the Knight of Cups.
This Knight is rarely
actually seen on the battlefield. He's really not the guy that is
going to stand toe to toe and go all fist to fist with an opponent.
He fights for the Kingdom of Cups which relates to Water. Water
represents the emotional system, love, hydration, irrigation, bodies
of water, imagination, music, art, wine. Water takes the path of
least resistance. There is no strong arming. Imagine water flowing
downhill. As it flows it encounters obstacles. Water does not blast
these obstacles apart with force. It flows around them, over them,
under them...taking whichever path that presents without resistance
first. Now, that is not an indication of being advised to take the
“easy way” out. It does indicate that the way there is not really
a straight line or a direct route. If that water keeps flowing over
the obstacles, then they eventually begin to wear down. Water wins
out with gentle persistence. Moving forward, we may need more
persistence and resistance than physical force. The things we are
trying to achieve may not be able to be completed in a “one and
done” kind of way. It may require several attempts and to the
Knight definitely encourages us to sleep on it and be imaginative and
creative in our response to it. Water, by the way, also does not
argue or debate with the obstacles in its path. This Knight is all
about the language beneath words, nuance, influence, the power of
suggestibility, illusion, coercion, creation, music, magic...no words are
really required. When they ARE required the volume is not loud or
overbearing. This Knight speaks and acts from the heart and his
strength is found in gentleness, persistence, endurance, imagination,
compassion, empathy and intuition and his path to “Victory” can
be a long and curvy, convoluted one.
We know he doesn't fight
hand to hand. He does woo and charm. Soothe and make folks
comfortable offer drink, set the atmosphere to fit his agenda. Plus,
he is quite skilled in the art of avoiding conflict or “sensing”
the potential in the air and then taking indirect action to stop
fighting from ever getting started. He makes peace, forgives,
accepts, loves, empathizes and smooths things over. He also has the
ability to both declare war and rise victorious from it before his
enemy knows there was a war and they've lost. When the Knights
“Undoing” is discovered, there is still an ongoing chaotic
scramble following in attempts to figure out...who? What? Where did
that come from? By that time, this Knight is kicked back in his easy
chair, listening to his favorite music and popping the cork on his
celebratory champagne. See? He's holding his cup up toasting whomever
is just now waking up to their defeat. He certainly does not fear
the storm. He is the storm.
