Morning Star: Astrology for September 3 and September 4, 2018

Monday, September 3, 2018

The Moon is waning in Gemini and still active this morning (having just passed a square with Neptune at 6:42 AM EDT) as her current ruler, Mercury in Leo, meets Venus in Libra by sextile. Part of the relevance of this sextile is that it occurs just as Venus has entered her retrograde shadow and JUST after Mercury has exited his own. Meaning, we know a little bit about who we are and have a more firm grasp on how it is we wish to express that. But, the heart may change in regard to what we appreciate and how as we move forward. That being said, this is generally a very light and congenial aspect in which we are encouraged to say something supportive, kind and maybe veer away from criticisms in our actions with others. One of those...if you cannot say anything nice then shut your trap, kinda deals. On a low end, this aspect can seek constant validation from others when they are not firmly rooted in an accepting sense of self. But, really...it's best used for spreading joy and not being a jerk.

This the only major aspect of the day. And, though subtle, it is actually pretty major...as time will show us in quite individualized ways.
The Moon in Gemini remains active through the night. She will touch upon both Mercury (2:38 AM) and Venus (1:37 AM) by amicable aspect before reaching Void status. Today is a wonderful day for “paying it forward” because what you put out there with Venus in shadow is quite likely to come back to you in some form. Yet, even with the potential of that, there is so much vitriol out there that little simple acts of kindness go a long way sometimes. You can use this energy to offset that quite a bit. And, the Gemini Moon delights in such lightness of being.

The Moon was briefly Void early this morning. She entered the sign of Cancer at 8:04 AM. Her first aspect is a sextile to Uranus in Taurus (11:52 AM) followed by an opposition to Saturn (12:22 PM). So, there is some pressure here with the Saturn opposition. A forced “holding to goal or task” so to speak. We may feel like we would rather just stay home and in our shells. But, duty calls. However, the sextile coming in from Uranus offers us the brilliance of simplicity and helps us to evolve the way we think about things like security and comfort. It may show us that no amount of traditional security and comfort helps to offset emotional misery. It may show us that the long standing problem we've been dealing with at home requires calling in a professional or a reworking of the foundation. Most likely, the answers are much more simple than we are making them.

The Moon is still waning. We are still shedding. So, this day can be used to ditch cumbersome weight or things that take more from our lives than they return. It's not necessarily a barrel full of monkeys fun...you know? But, the opposition to Saturn can bring blessed boundary and protection to our tender Cancer Moon while the sextile to Uranus can help us ground out or rise above some of the potential “weight” of this...to break free of it. The key in that being 1) recognizing and accepting where you are and how you feel about it and 2) finding the authority you have to do something about it, if necessary and 3) allowing yourself to step back from “what's not right” and look more toward “what is right.” You have permission to change your focus.
