Morning Star: Astrology for the week of August 13 to August 19, 2018

Monday, August 13, 2018

There isn't much happening “out there” today or the whole of this week, really. AAAHH! YES I MEAN IT!
We have the Moon still active in Virgo all day. But, she doesn't make any major aspects following her trine with Pluto at 7:12 AM this morning. After midnight, she will trine Mars Rx newly in Capricorn before reaching Void status.

So, today is good for launching new initiatives (Moon now waxes) as well as putting together plans and prioritizing. Mars coming in by trine is excellent help with that.
Many are still trying to get their feet back underneath them following the culmination of eclipse season. Today is a great day to get well grounded and back into routine.
The Moon remains Void (following the trine to Mars 00:38 AM EDT in the morning) for only a few minutes. She enters Libra just a few minutes shy of 1 AM.

Tuesday, August 14, 2018

The passage of the Moon through Virgo has been a great chance to “let the dust settle.” Using the last two days to get things back in order would have been the best way to go. Particularly because the Libra Moon is likely to be a little stressed.
For example, we wake up this morning with the Libra Moon in square to Saturn in Capricorn (5:56 AM). We may feel overwhelmed and pressured by the work load we have. Or could be staring down some type of block and think “hey! Somebody needs to do something about that!” But, if under yesterday's Virgo Moon, we put a working and reasonable plan in place; then, when the pressure from the Lunar square to Saturn comes in this morning we still may feel the pressure BUT have a “plan of attack” already in place...which helps. Otherwise, the morning is heavy and likely cumbersome.

By 2:06 PM, things lighten up. We've either made progress or have given up. Libra Moon conjunct Venus is ready to lay down the heavy in favor of airy conversation/socialization or just relaxation.
By 10:10 PM, the brain is busy as the Moon sextiles Mercury Rx in Leo. Due this, there may be a laundry list of things running rampant in our brains as we attempt to sleep. It's not a harsh aspect, though. So, it might blip right by without notice. It can be used to rethink our boundary between self and other, though. If you are afraid to do something or say something because someone else might get upset or something to that effect, it may be time to balance that self/other dynamic out a little and make sure you are hearing your own voice instead of living your life according to what you think everyone else wants you to do.

This morning the Moon is still in Libra. So, many have their steely “I'm fine” face on. Who knows what's really going on behind the facade. But, at 9:52 AM, we could find out as the Moon squares Pluto and “all nice bets are off.”
This kick starts a hunger. So, hopefully folks will just have a candy bar or something and relax. But, we could see some emotional manipulation or malefic use in power in relationships, also.
At 4:23 PM, the Moon and Sun make a nice little sextile which could help to offset any of the negative that came from the Moon/Pluto square. Or, it could actually make it a little worse.
Now this isn't some kind of wild set up. But, if the Moon/Pluto square dredges up unchained ugly; then, the Sun/Moon sextile could dredge up short sightedness, narcissism...ego-centric behavior. You know? Just because it is a softer aspect doesn't prevent folks from being assholes.

So, the best way to use this is to note what the Moon/Pluto square dredges up in the way of want, fear, paranoia...what have you...and stare it down. Ground it out. Then, as this Sun/Moon sextile waxes in look at ways in which you (Sun in Leo) can co-create or cooperate with others (Moon in Libra) so that you can both get a little more close to what it is you want. One of those, you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours kinda deals.
The Moon remains active the rest of the day. In the morning at about 4 AM, she meets Mars Rx by square which is ambiguity and potentially a sense of self-defeat. Then, the Moon is Void until 5 AM on Thursday morning when she enters Scorpio.
Now, this is essentially the same kind of set up energetically that we had with Moon square Pluto. How you handle yourself and your emotional body at the end of the day is going to set you up for how well tomorrow goes. A Scorpio Moon can become seething, resentful, fearful or paranoid. OR, it can focus in on what needs to be done/addressed and get busy doing it.
Good thing about that is Moon in Scorpio is less stressed than Moon in Libra with the exception of her opposition to Uranus (tomorrow at 9:28 AM). However, steered appropriately and the opposition to Uranus can actually help us ground out or rise above shadow and fearful potential an effort to see things a little more clearly. I suggest swinging it that way if you can.

The main problem being as the Moon in Libra squares Mars...even though better positioned in Capricorn he is still Rx. So, we can have some frustration, ambiguity and a sense of pressure that lingers as the Moon rests in Void status. Then, when she kicks over into Scorpio we have this “do it or die” kind of mentality that meets with the catalytic energy of Uranus shortly thereafter. So, that frustration, ambiguity and frustration can turn into hyper or even OVER focus/obsession that also meets with anxiety. Folks react to anxiety differently. Some fearfully. Some angrily. It all depends. Key to that being...not allowing the anxiety to dictate your actions. And, that's HARD! It involves re-directing the body's fight or flight response to something that becomes useful and manageable. Grounding it out or rising above the initial “angst” is the way to go with that. Plus, Moon/Uranus is not naturally patient. This is something that a native with this energy has to work on. By passing aspect, you don't get much time to figure that out. Let alone how to do it.
Start tomorrow in routine and from a well grounded position. We will likely feel as if we need to rush. But, really...that's just the energy of Uranus. It can be over-come and you can slow the pace to something you can manage more easily.

This morning the Moon wakes up in Scorpio at about 5 AM. Then, she opposes Uranus at about 9:30 AM. As I've mentioned, the best way to engage in this day is to start by touching ground and holding your sense of patience and diligence to you tightly. Remember your long term goals and steer everything toward that end without expecting things to go exactly as planned. If you get frustrated, take a break. Ground. Then, go back to it. Disallow frustration and anxiety to cause you to metaphorically cut your nose off to spite your face.

After the opposition to Uranus, the Moon quickly waxes into sextile with Saturn (10:07 AM) which helps us to stay sober, realistic and goal-oriented. See? The angst from the Moon/Uranus opposition comes but passes quickly and is replaced by sturdy, focused and enduring energy. Don't let the blip of Uranus rip a hole in your whole day.
The rest of the day goes on without major aspect from the Moon. You CAN make diligent and sturdy progress here with a little focus, endurance and a flexible plan.

At 2:19 AM, the Moon squares off with Mercury in Leo. Again, more potential for brain spin, nightmares...maybe a few headaches or sleep disruptions are possible. Be easy with yourself and assess what the brain dredges up for potential shadow interplay and fear. Watch out for folks who are overly focused on “what about me” because there may be some of those. You can be supportive but still allow their wails to be their problem. If you are struggling, this is good time to look at your emotions and attempt to put them into words. If you have worries, get up and write them all down. Get them outside yourself so you can look at them more clearly instead of wrestling with them in your head.

This morning the Moon is still in Scorpio finding Jupiter by conjunction at 9:33 AM EDT and Neptune by trine just a half hour later. As you can tell, the Jupiter/Neptune trine is now waxing strongly. This will perfect shortly after Mercury turns direct on Sunday morning. Mercury turns direct at midnight Sunday morning while Jupiter/Neptune perfects at 3:47 AM.

Now, as the Moon passes through what we have potential for is a feeling of demotivation, fatigue, dreaminess. It can be easily used for resting and relaxing as well as dipping into the creative realms...art, music. But it isn't really ambitious and operates best when you allow yourself to flow from one thing to the next. Trying to force things is really not a good way to go.
As the Jupiter/Neptune trine continues to wax in, I have seen some illnesses which we also did experience with the last trine between these two. So, make sure to double down on keeping your physical barriers up and healthy. The potential for illness can actually rise if you've been pushing yourself to a frazzle under Mars retrograde. So, step back. Dip into some self-care and restoration to help keep yourself healthy. And for goodness sakes...wash your hands.
At 4:12 PM the Moon is sextile Pluto in Capricorn. There is traction to be had here and the ability to potentially manifest some of those “wild dreams” that were developed under the Moon's passage through Jupiter/Neptune.
The rest of the night goes down without much hiccup with the exception of two things. The Sun meets Pluto by minor aspect at midnight. Then, we experience the First Quarter Moon at 3:49 AM pitting the Moon in Scorpio against the Sun in Leo.

So, what you may have is shadow interplay or fear that wells up with Sun/Pluto. But, with the Moon in Scorpio staring down the Sun in Leo most of what goes on here is likely going to fill you in on your own shadow and what have you. We might think it involves others. But the more important message here is to check yourself first. While maintaining an ability to deal effectively with your own fears or perceived short comings.
It does happen under the cover of darkness. So, yes, there could be nightmares or late night brain things that interrupt our sleep. Plus, First Quarters are notorious for putting challenges in front of us that we must overcome or resolve before we can fully meet our goals. It all goes sour when we allow fear to stop us or rule us. Or when we allow ourselves to become overly self-indulgent, greedy or short-sighted. To deal with it best, all we have to do is face down and accept whatever is in shadow and take one strong sturdy step forward to address the issue that also aligns with our long term goals.
Tomorrow, we will get some help with that as the Moon finds Mars in Capricorn by sextile at midday. But, we kind of have to navigate the First Quarter challenge before we get to that point.

Saturday, August 18, 2018

This morning we wake up with lingering pressure following last night's First Quarter Moon. Yet, that pressure CAN be managed as the Moon makes a sextile to planning and diligent Mars in Capricorn. Feel challenged? Make a plan and do something about it. Keep everything aligned with the “goal.”
We also have a secret little nugget of help coming in here. Venus in Libra and Mercury Rx in Leo meet by sextile. The brain and the heart are on the same page. Not only does this bring the possibility of support and amicable relations. But, there is also a chance for favors to be returned or help to be offered. In the internal sphere, things line up nicely. In the external sphere, friends, conversation and lightening up is a very strong possibility.
Following the sextile with Mars, the Moon is Void until entering Sagittarius just afternoon. So, dig in and get some chores caught up in the early part of the day. Then, reserve the evening time for the pleasure of your choice. Getting out to explore and stretch your legs in the world is a good thing to mark on the calendar for this evening.

It's been...rather chaotic and challenging for over a month now. Go. Let the wind blow gently in your hair a little. And, remember to take your sense of humor with you. Mercury is stationing to turn direct and par for the course with a station point there oculd be misunderstandings, mechanical things that don't work right and maybe some tech or travel bumbles. But, the worst is ending in that regard. This is just the station point and things will settle fairly quickly. Don't take any of it too seriously. Moon in Sagittarius will help with that.
The rest of the evening rolls out without major aspect. At midnight, Mercury stations direct officially. At 3:47 AM Jupiter trines Neptune and things likely get very quiet as we approach Sunday. It's time for rest and relaxation now more than production. Get you a good dose of that.

Sunday, August 19, 2018

Oh. If you can sleep in..do so. Many will be prone to that without me even saying a thing this morning. Jupiter trine Neptune sets us adrift on a very large sea.
At midday, the Moon will trine Mercury (WHO IS NOW DIRECT!!) and sextile Venus adding a bit of sweetness and entertainment to the day. Enjoy that. Alone or with friends. It doesn't matter. This is a beautifully sweet set up that is meant to be enjoyed.

By 7:12 PM, many are sleepy or perhaps meeting with a bit of “OK, that was fun. But, I'm ready for quiet time now” as the Moon squares off with Neptune. This would be the point in the day when you have taken the kids to the theme park and they've had a wonderful time but now they are tired and grouchy or sick at their bellies from indulging in junk and spending too much time on the tilt-a-whirl. You know? So, have fun but pack it in early so you can get some rest ahead of Monday.
Speaking of Monday, the only thing, really, that we have going on that day is a fire trine which can busy but fun. So, yeah. Have a great and relaxing day and prepare to have a little bit more outward fun activity tomorrow. Yup. Even on Monday.
