Morning Star: Astrology for the week of July 23 to July 29, 2018

Monday, July 23, 2018

Today looks a little uncomfortable and perhaps confusing, to me. We begin under the adventurous Sagittarius Moon. Venus in Virgo now begins to leave her sextile with Jupiter. She is waxing into an opposition with Neptune Rx which is due to perfect on Tuesday evening. However, the Moon links this waxing opposition up today creating a mutable t-square which finds outlet in the sign of Gemini.
The Moon squares Venus in Virgo at 11:36 AM. This is the mark of discomfort and perhaps a conflict between want and need. It can even denote friction between concepts of “mother” versus “mate.” Typically the disconnect between Virgo and Sagittarius is simplicity versus the grandiose. Venus in Virgo is just not gregarious. Can't say the same about Moon in Sagittarius. It's can be a rather boisterous (though uplifting and pleasant) energy which often times is “too showy” in terms of Venus in the sign of the Virgin.

The thing about it is, though, under a Sagittarius Moon, one of the things we “need” is truth. This mutable t-square is likely to dump some of that in our laps whether we want it to or not. When I looked at this Neptune opposition coming in to my own Venus in Virgo, I did so with trepidation. My Venus is also square Saturn. So, I'm used to relying on her and Saturn to help me sort out my Neptune Moon confusion. She's typically high and dry. I took one look at Neptune and thought..well, there goes my anchor.
However. What I'm discovering is that with Neptune Rx in opposition to my Venus (which is what we are working on in terms of collective aspects right now) is that more veils have been dropping than newly constructed. I WANT to see how things “really” are. So, even though I'm initially a little deflated when the reality of things are revealed to me, it also comes with a sense of relief. Simply due the fact “ok...well, at least now I know what I'm really dealing with,” right? That's how I choose to look at it anyway.

With Mercury ruling our current Venus while in retrograde shadow AND the outlet for this t-square falling in Gemini, veils that drop under this Venus/Neptune opposition or truths that are dumped in our laps today are likely things that we will collectively discuss from a few different perspectives in our coming weeks. And, you know, for the most part...these are not going to be “comfortable” or welcomed truths, either. At the end of it, though, we will all have a chance to glean a more clear understanding of what we actually are dealing with instead of trying to assess what that is behind the veil of confusion, lies and outright deliberate deception/obscuring of the facts.
The square from the Moon to Neptune occurs at 2:08 PM. So, this semi-sleepy wishy-washy world with rather uncomfortable moments of clarity persists for a big part of the day. Be patient with yourself. Give yourself time to get to a place where you can accept things for how they are revealed to you. The outlet in Gemini says we are allowed to think things over. We are allowed to talk about this stuff with our trusted friends and advisers. We don't have to make a judgment call about it just yet. Take it all in. Give yourself time to process it. Think about it. Then, we can start figuring out what to do about whatever it is that is revealed to us on both personal and collective levels once we've come to a point of acceptance of “it is what it is.”
After the square to Neptune, the Moon remains active until creating a trine with Mercury in Leo at 4:23 AM in the morning. Following this aspect, the Moon is Void until entering Capricorn at 5:50 PM EDT on Tuesday evening. This means the Moon is Void as Venus perfects in opposition (officially) to Neptune Rx tomorrow evening. We'll encounter the emotional impact of it today, though. Then, have plenty of time to think it over under the 13 hour VOC period of the Sagittarius Moon.

Tuesday, July 24, 2018

Today the Moon in Sagittarius is Void for most of the day. She enters the sign of Capricorn at 5:50 PM. Meanwhile, Venus officially opposes Neptune Rx at 3:23 PM at around 16 degrees mutable.
The veils that Venus/Neptune dropped are going to be top priority, most likely, once the Moon flickers back on in Capricorn. We know what we are dealing with now. At this point, all we need is a plan in regard to how to deal with it appropriately. The Capricorn Moon will gear us toward taking charge of the situation. And, she will have PLENTY of help in doing so.

At 10:22 PM, the Moon does square Chiron in Aries reminding us of mistakes of our youth or perhaps the ineffectiveness of having an overly aggressive nature. It's time to find a more effective mode of operation this time around. Thankfully, the Moon also trines Uranus in Taurus at 10:50 PM EDT helping us to come up with an innovative and, yet, brilliantly simplistic way to do so.
At 1:47 AM EDT, the Moon is conjunct Saturn in Capricorn. We accept accountability and soberly construct a plan to deal. Now...mind you....this whole day is a like dull thud in the morning into the late afternoon. Then, when the Moon comes on it's a rather “wet blanket” in terms of measuring how things are going on a “good time” scale. But, it does plunk our feet on the ground. “It is what it is” does not mean you will like what it reveals itself to be. When veils drop around Venus issues we are usually not really pleased about that.
But the sober and sturdy Capricorn Moon is geared perfectly to help us get down to the nitty gritty of the situation so that we can figure our own way out.

Another thing about this day is the timing of all depending on the time zone you live in. See, the aspects of the day come as night falls during EDT. So, last night and tonight may be restless and sleepless. I mean...the energy is jangly already due the fact we have a Lunar Eclipse this week and Mercury stationing retrograde too. You know?
Trying to operate on “normal” 9-5 hours is hard enough when stuff keeps you up at night and you aren't really resting well. However, there's an added caveat to that here when you notice the Sun is also waxing into square with Uranus in Taurus which is due to perfect bright and early Wednesday morning.
Why does that matter? Because people are cranky and anxious when they have had no sleep. Plus, lots of us are going to be dealing with the disappointment in regard to whatever veils are dropped early in the week. When the Sun squares Uranus? All that gets a whole lot worse. A whole lot less tolerable. Folks become impatient, impulsive, reactive...potentially even more anxious. It's going to be crunchy. To put it mildly. And, folks are going to be pushed right to the edge of their tolerance levels. Some will catapult off it...in not so graceful ways. Main thing being, keeping yourself from being in that number who will inevitably succumb to the pressure of this and end up literally or metaphorically blowing themselves and their lives up.
I mean, that method does relieve pressure. I can speak to that. However. LOL. I can also attest to the fact that it very often leaves a rather large and (in the long term) unnecessary mess for the imploding person to clean up. Trust me.
However, even though hard to manage at times, tomorrow morning's square from the Sun in Leo to Uranus in Taurus can also be quite liberating. We can be inspired toward independent and practical action here. We can realize our true power of choice and find the “kick in the pants” we need to use it, even. If we can manage to disallow this stuff to get to us.

As the Sun crosses by Uranus by square, he is also lighting up a fixed cross with the nodal axis and Mars Rx. The outlet for that fixed cross lies in Scorpio. Endurance. Survival. Determination. Fearlessness. Focus...and with Scorpio's ruler in Capricorn? Responsibility, goal orientation, effective planning strategy and leadership abilities. Yup. Welcome to critical mass. Which also means we are almost through. I'm still deferring to the phrase I used in last week's video as the most simple way to deal with this “Don't lose your shit.” That's the main challenge. And, it hits an upswing over the next 2 days before the energy begins to drop into more easily manageable levels. Even at that (energy levels beginning to drop) we will likely still have residual “aftershocks” to deal with following all this.

Wednesday, July 25, 2018

Ok. This morning the Sun in Leo is square Uranus in Taurus and dragging in Mars Rx and the Nodal axis to create a fixed t-square. Do not forget about the grounding Earth energy we have in the sky to offset some of this though. Under a Capricorn Moon, dealing with emotional matters is best done with a set of astute boundaries, a sense of self-direction/control and an attitude of “it's just business.”
To review what that is all about, back up and re-read yesterday's write up. Know that the atmosphere will likely feel...weird or off. Uncertain. Know that a lot of folks will be fed up, irritable, anxious and reactive. Off the chain. Know you don't have to be one of those folks and our objective is still STAY FROSTY. Frosty...not Wyle E. Coyote.

IF we manage to contain ourselves in the potentially angsty feel of this day, though, we could end up rather proud of ourselves by the time night falls. The Moon in Capricorn sextiles resilient Jupiter in Scorpio at 9:33 PM. Just before Mercury officially turns retrograde right after midnight.
Mercury's station points are always a pain. Once he gets in full retro motion, things have a tendency to even out a little. But, at those station points? Things break down. Miscommunication happens. Stuff gets a little FUBAR. And that energy just adds to the collective angst. Like I said. Critical Mass.
If you go into this day with a willingness to remain cool and flexible..knowing and accepting things may not go exactly as our neat and tidy little plans think they should...you'll be much better off. Along with the grounding and all that I've just mentioned.
After Mercury stations retrograde, officially, the Moon makes a nice softening and relaxing aspect to Neptune at 2:30 AM which can actually help us get some rest. Which is a good thing because rarely do we get that opportunity as we work our way toward big fat eclipses. Gear yourself in a way that you might be able to take advantage of that. Step down from your day early, if you can.

Thursday, July 26, 2018

This morning the Moon is still in Capricorn and meets Venus in Virgo by trine at 6:04 AM. This, my friends, along with the following conjunction to Pluto is actually a very good thing. This brings determination, grit, focus, endurance and an ability to triage and prioritize whatever job it is that we may have ahead of us. Our brows furrow and our shoulders broaden here. We become ready to get down to the serious business of whatever it is that is going on in our own lives.

We likely won't have time or patience for anything else. Following the conjunction with Pluto (9:41 AM) the Moon rests in Void status until entering Aquarius in the morning at 6:41 AM.
SO VOID MOON PRETTY MUCH ALL DAY! Which, isn't great for kick starting off our plans for personal world domination. But, again, is a blessed break as we are more deeply led into this eclipse.
Thing is, folks will feel pressured to pull the trigger on their plans. The Sun in Leo opposes Mars Rx at 1:13 AM (7/27). This means that even though the Moon is Void there could be some an affliction of anxiety and a desire to get things moving.
The better bet for the day is to use the Earth energy of the morning to draft your “grand scheme” moving forward and absorb all the grit and determination you can from Pluto as the Moon schmoozes up to him. Then, sleep on it. Now that Mercury is retrograde we have a chance to rethink, reflect, change our perspective or go back and learn a little more about what we need to learn. There is truly no rush (unless it is an emergent situation). It's going to FEEL like we need to rush because the energy is so erratic. But, you don't have to succumb to that. Take your dear sweet time. Take advantage of the fact that the Moon is Void. I can't promise you that things will run routinely under this Void Moon with the Sun also waxing into opposition with Mars Rx and Mercury newly retrograde. But, I can promise you that you will manage it much better from a grounded and sure footed position. Today, we have a chance to get ourselves to that grounded position ahead of tomorrow's eclipse.

Friday, July 27, 2018

Here we are. The big fat Full Moon eclipse. The Moon is actually near apogee..so, it won't be that fat of a Moon. I've heard its the longest eclipse and one that will flip the world upside down. But, I think it's kinda funny that no one has mentioned the fact that it is one of the smallest appearing Moon's all year. By the way, if you want to know how to tell where the furthest point on the Moon's elliptical path is away from the Earth all you have to do is look to see where Black Moon Lilith (the hypothetical point..not Waldermath..not the asteroid) is because that is the spot she marks. She is in Capricorn right now. Which means, this Full Moon is about as far away from Earth as it can get possibly get. Not that it will lessen the erratic feel of it. Just..fyi. If you want to know how to call out a Super Moon like folks are doing a lot these days, it simply means that the Moon opposes that BML/apogee point (or is at perigee) like our last New Moon.

Ok. The Moon clicks into Aquarius at 6:41 AM EDT and immediately starts applying in square to Uranus in Taurus. That aspect perfects at 11:48 AM. From here, the angst hits an uptick. The Moon's next stop is a conjunction with Mars Rx in Aquarius at 2:49 PM. This can be infuriating, de-motivating, frustrating or inspiring, catalytic, instigating. It's all in how you choose to interpret it. It's just energy. And, this is still best viewed from the perspective of “it's just business.” Aquarius Moon can rise above the human messiness of emotions in order to make clear, logical and effective decisions. We are likely to get practiced with that (or would fair well if we could) by the time this day is out.
At 4:21 PM, here she comes! The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse pops wide open at 4 Leo/Aquarius 45. The Sabian Symbols for this lunation read as follows:

For the Sun at 5 Leo: Rock formations towering over a deep canyon.

For the Moon at Aquarius 5: A council of ancestors have been called to guide man.

The rock formations present what seems to be an insurmountable problem. The Moon, however, suggests we call upon ancestral or tribal guidance. It's a challenge we meet on our own. But, according to this Moon, there is assistance available to us that can help us traverse that canyon.

Our guide for this eclipse is Justice. I will have more to say about this card and this Moon in a separate blog as this we get deeper into this week. But, for today, know that Justice doesn't mean the human constructs of a legal system. Alrighty? This is divine Justice. And, as much as it makes me a little anxious and skittish sometimes, I can tell you it often...like it or not...gives folks exactly what they deserve. Gah. That's a bitter pill to swallow sometimes. But, yeah. Across the board Justice doles out consequences based on nothing but fact. No bias. No bonus points for being cute or having a strong social status or bank account. Justice does not care. Right is right. Wrong is wrong. Here are your consequences...now, move along, there's a string of folks behind you waiting for theirs too.
MEANWHILE! That sweet little Venus in Virgo whose recent aspects to the Earth and Water placements in our sky have been a little likely unnoticed blessing running in the background...delivers again. At 9:22 PM she is trine Pluto in Capricorn. This can attract to you whatever you allow your heart to linger on. So, don't feed your attention to anything that you don't want to grow. Feed your attention to what you want to draw toward you or to what you want to flourish instead.

Also know that Venus trine Pluto under a Full Moon Eclipse is WONDERFUL for severing negative attachment, refocusing on what is truly important and valuable while letting the rest go and getting your feet firmly sunk into a sense of resolve. This is also a sense of deeply devoted service to humanity and the world in general. Humble. Gritty. Reliable. A gold nugget in the midst of an otherwise chaotic energetic mess.
The Moon remains active through the night. However, she makes no major aspect. I figure a massive fixed t-square along with an eclipse before the official “work day” is over is enough. Don't you?
Remember the Venus/Pluto trine. Keep what is truly important and valuable to you right in the forefront of your awareness. Also remember that the outlet for the aforementioned t-square falls in Scorpio whose ruler (Pluto) is in Capricorn and trine Venus. Self-control and direction. An ability to realize where your power is and employ it properly. Endurance. Survival. Common sense. Goal orientation, grounding, boundaries, accountability....employing all that is where your advantage lies today.

Saturday, July 28, 2018

Thankfully, there isn't a whole lot happening today. We start off with a square from the Moon to Jupiter in Scorpio at 10:47 AM. The Moon remains active through the day; but, this is the only major aspect she will make.
The disconnect between Scorpio and Aquarius comes because one is all about what is going on under the surface (Scorpio) while the other is all up in the clouds (Aquarius). Not “up in the clouds” in so far as being delusional or disconnected ala Neptune style. But, up in the clouds of fact of logic. Yet the main thing with this square is that it is an opportunity to be optimistic, forward in our line of thinking and also an opportunity to adjust our perspective as necessary. Jupiter in harsh aspect to the Moon can cause things to seem much larger than really are. In that case, take a step back. If you need more detail, take a step forward. Adjust as you need to. Remember Scorpio is the sign of extremes. Don't forget all the options that lie betwixt those extremities. It doesn't have to be all one way or the other.
The Sun also officially crosses the North Node at 8:28 PM. If Sun in Leo conjunct the North Node in Leo doesn't say it's time to be true to yourself and follow your heart, I don't know what will. Cause, that's exactly what this means. This occurs right past our eclipse point near 6 degrees of Leo. The symbol for that reads: An old fashioned belle and a flapper.
This is a symbol we've dealt with before, of course. In this case, what's important is the ability to perceive past, present and future versions of yourself while being accepting and admiring of each.

The Moon remains active through the night. She opposes Mercury RX in Leo at 5:25 AM on Sunday Morning before finally reaching Void status.

Sunday, July 29, 2018

On my day journal, I have today marked as “eclipse recovery day.” Because that's what it is going to be best used for. Following the early morning lunar opposition to Mercury, the Moon is Void until entering Pisces at 7:28 PM.
This is a GOOD thing. The Moon is Void and therefore our emotional bodies can sincerely begin to settle down a little after what has probably been a rather testy week at times. Rest. Restore. Nap. Eat. Whatever “feels” best to you. Then, when the Moon dips into Pisces tonight....aaaah...sleep, my pretties, sleep.
