Morning Star: Astrology for January 17 to January 21, 2018

Wednesday, January 17, 2018

Early this morning, the Moon passed into Aquarius. She is still Saturn ruled by traditional theory. But, she is co-ruled by Uranus which brightens the affect a bit in comparison to Moon in Capricorn. On the downside, Aquarius can also be even colder than Capricorn. More detached. On the converse, the Moon is more inclined to themes of social justice, collaboration and amicability as well. It would serve us well to learn the higher function of Aquarius as the stellium in Capricorn begins to break up from here pulling each of these planets across our South Node. Then, of course, we will deal with the future Mars retrograde. The path of which will have Mars involved in eclipses, harsh squares with Uranus and test us on our ability to employ the more positive energies of Aquarius.

Today can serve as an introduction to those lessons. First by way of the Moon. Then, by way of Venus as she enters the sign at 8:44 PM EST. Another hint toward this practicing this energy comes by way of an inconjunct from Mars in Scorpio to Uranus in Aries that occurs at around 4:37 PM. This inconjunct will create a yod with any bodies between 23-25 Virgo or Gemini. Planets from Gemini create a focal point with Mars. While planets in Virgo create a focal point with Uranus. Now. The sextile or inconjunct with the planets in Gemini/Virgo from Uranus has been off and on in 2017. Mars' presence calls us to full illustration of what you may have learned from these aspects over the course of that time. The key being to work the sextile in an effort to meet the highest call of apex planet with planets at 24 degrees receiving the direct impact.
Mars and Uranus in any combination calls us to conscious response. The feel is that of adrenaline or over-excitement. It can be wildly electric, impulsive, rebellious with no discernible goal other to rebel and unconscious knee-jerk reactions. To deal, grounding is essential as well as remaining very mindful of the impact of your actions upon your long term goals and upon collective at large. Otherwise, Mars/Uranus is a warrior for the truth, clarity and social justice. Uranus being the higher octave of Mercury calls us to evolve our thinking and to apply innovation and expertise over our actions. We aim for precision and with Mars/Uranus, once the technique is perfected, that precision can come rather swiftly. The effect of this inconjunct are mild, most likely. However, the Moon, Venus and Mars all receive an introduction to the cool, intelligent and sparkly ice clean of Aquarius beginning today. The heaviness we have been feeling from the collaboration in Capricorn will begin to ease. Energy from Uranus/Aquarius could be the “spark of life” that comes toward our intentions. The magic “touch” that causes the metaphorical “heart” of a goal to begin beating. Aquarius and Uranus represent energies that can go really, really well. Or really, really bad quite quickly. Grounding, an ability to self direct (which WAS practiced under our Capricorn stellium) and a clear vision of the perceived outcome you desire make all the difference.

The Moon makes no major aspects within this day following her ingress into Aquarius. Thus, today becomes mostly a time of transition evolving planets from one sign into the next. It's likely to feel rather pleasant, active (barring any negative influence coming from the waxing trine between Mars and Chiron) and perhaps even a bit lighter than earlier in this week.

Thursday, January 18, 2018

The major aspect of today comes by way of Mars in Scorpio trine Chiron in Pisces at midday. The New Moon in Scorpio last Fall called us to learn to metaphorically “walk with our limp.” Asking us to develop ways forward that acknowledged our weaknesses, biases, addictions, denials and naivete. Now, our progress is “tested.” If the inconjunct between Mars/Uranus yesterday caused unconscious action, we could feel the metaphorical bullet in our foot today. Or, there could be illness, confusion, or other Neptunian influence that subsequently effects how we can or choose to engage. Today we can learn to move beyond our limitations.

This calls for flow and gentleness more than force. However, it does come with an air of endurance and perhaps even an ability to numb out pain that may have been exacerbated under yesterday's Mars/Uranus energy. The spark of life has been inflicted upon our intentions. Don't expect them to know how to walk on day one. Take it slow and methodically.
At 7:02 PM, the Moon squares off with Jupiter in Scorpio. She doesn't necessarily like his dark humor or tendency to exacerbate and make large the waves. Jupiter doesn't like Aqua Moon's uppity standoffish nature. However, the general influence can brighten the mood a bit further (as long as perspective remains in check) while forcing us to blend what we know of the dark underbelly into our growing desire to build a more aware and conscious world. The wisdom of Jupiter in Scorpio leaves out no detail of the abuses he has found in the use of power. Though, likely not welcomed, this is usable information for our Aquarius Moon.

Overnight, the Moon sextiles her modern ruler, Uranus in Aries. This is also brightening helping us to rise above the swirling of the waters with a mixture of both the fire (action) and ice (cold, solid resolve). Yet, conflict between air and water rises again as the Moon finds Mars by square at 6:53 AM tomorrow. Dawn brings both inspiration and ambiguity. Following the square with Mars, the Moon is void until entering the Piscean seas at 3:28 PM. The “softening” of Capricorn does continue here. But, earmark tomorrow for rest, quiet contemplation or working on existing projects.

Friday, January 19, 2018

The Moon is Void following a square with Mars in Scorpio this morning. She drifts into Pisces at 3:28 PM. Meanwhile, Mercury in Capricorn melts and relaxes a little with a sextile to Neptune at 8:08 PM. These are the words of a compassionate and empathic leader. Or the words of leadership under the influence. The best point of use is to embrace the influence of Neptune and limber up some of the stoic thinking of Mercury in Capricorn. Speak and think that the leader that has true concern for their underlings.

At 10:10 PM, Capricorn season officially comes to a close. Though, we will have Saturn and Mercury there for quite some time, the Sun leaves the sign joining Venus also in Aquarius. All elemental bases are touched here. Fire. Earth. Air. Water. A mixture from which you can employ or take whatever it is you need. Empathy does rise under Mercury/Neptune and Moon in Pisces. So, the energy does remain more inclined toward relaxing and recovering rather than embarking with great force. At 10:30 PM, the Moon does touch ground and boundary with a lovely sextile to Saturn. I say lovely, because this is where my Moon also resides. It's very stable and comforting energy to have under a Pisces Moon. There is security and boundary here. Which is really nice. Afterall, emotional energy has been cast to the seas. It's always nice to have a boat in such instances. Saturn in Capricorn provides a rather sturdy one for our drifty Moon here.

Saturday, January 20, 2018

Ah, watery, dreamy, potentially emotional, likely creative and flowy Saturday. The Moon lingers in Pisces this morning. Many may choose to also linger in dream a little bit longer than typical. At 3:46 PM she meets Neptune by conjunction and we are in the poppy fields with the cast from the Wizard of Oz. More sleepy. More dreamy. Of course there is also the chance at illness being a factor as the body's defenses are rather slow and permeable under the influence of Neptune.

As the day moves forward, the Moon does receive solid and sturdy support by the way of a sextile to Mercury in Capricorn. A reliable sense of grounding and a strong vibe of common sense bring boundary to our fishy Moon.
Overnight, the Moon restores with a sextile to Pluto in Capricorn. In the morning, the Sun emerges finding the Moon and Jupiter in watery trine. We are at a stronger capacity to perform in our tomorrow. Still a little slow but more strongly supported by the energies of both Capricorn and Scorpio. Today. Rest. Dream. Create. Listen to music. Drift and heal. Sink deep into sleep tonight and wake up a little brighter and little more willing to engage tomorrow.

Sunday, January 21, 2018

As I mentioned, this morning we wake up to the Pisces Moon in trine to Jupiter in Scorpio. This broadens and brightens the affect packing a bit of optimism with it. It's not forceful. Yet is more flow than force. Plus, the mixture of Scorpio and Pisces, here, raises the bar on intuitive power. Waters run deep here. It's a super set up for divination practices, prayer, meditation and assessing the “feel” of the world and energies around you.

At 4:35 PM, the Moon dips low with a conjunction to Chiron which could cause us to lose a bit of traction. Again, this could be to due illness, fatigue, naivete, idealism or, even, addiction. But, this is followed by a trine to Mars at 8:14 PM that can gently re-energize us.
Following the trine with Mars, the Moon is Void until 1:28 AM EST. Tomorrow, we are prone to engagement and action. Plus, there is added pressure to perform. Get all your ducks in a row in a preparation today. Line things out so the morning clicks by more easily tomorrow. Rest and get ready to get to work.
