On Friday, June 5, we will experience
the first in a series of 3 eclipses that roll in every two weeks from
here until July 5. Following this one, we will experience the next as
the first New Moon in Cancer (there are 2 Cancer New Moons this year)
on June 21st...the solstice...at 2:42 AM EDT. This occurs
as Neptune is stationing to turn retrograde (June 23). The final
eclipse of the summer is a Full Moon/Lunar eclipse on July 5th
right after midnight on the East Coast. That Lunar eclipse occurs at
13 Cancer/Capricorn 38. It will serve as “closure” for much of
what we have encountered under the previous nodal transit through
Cancer/Capricorn. Also, this will be the first eclipse since January
of 2020 to have Saturn back in Capricorn. For Friday's Full Moon and
the eclipse on the solstice, Saturn is Rx and still holding residence
in Aquarius. But for the Full Moon eclipse that rolls in like the
grand finale of a fireworks show (July 5), Saturn will be holding
residence in Capricorn at that lovely 29th Cardinal
degree.
From the first of July, we move toward
the 2nd New Moon in Cancer (not an eclipse) on July 20th
which is anchored in opposition to Saturn still stoically holding on
the end degrees of Capricorn. Mercury will have turned direct by then
(July 12). Venus (June 25), too. Mars, however, will step into his
Retrograde shadow in Aries (July 26), just as Mercury (July 27) and
Venus (July 29) are exiting their own.
Through that last sentence you can
deduce that our hearts changed (Venus Rx in Gemini) our minds
(Mercury Rx in Cancer) and now we move forward with this new
perspective/way of thinking and communicating. From that perspective,
we can walk with Mars into his retrograde shadow with the intention
to support the fluid notion of “once our minds and hearts change;
so shall our actions,” bearing in mind we will likely not get it
right at the first attempt. Our practice and honing of our Mars
techniques are supported throughout the Mars' Retrograde. Even more,
our personal abilities to cope with dealings of hurt, anger,
aggression, assertiveness will most certainly be tested.
Other than the big and obvious (THIS IS
ECLIPSE AND RETROGRADE SEASON) there is one aspect within this Full
Moon on Friday that is certainly eye catching. That is the mutable
tsquare made between the Sun/Moon and Mars in Pisces. What I had
missed until just this morning, though, was that on the 4th
leg of that mutable tsquare in Virgo resides Nemesis.
Nemesis popped out at me quick as I was
researching Themis.
There is military operation lined up and ready to happen in the US
called Operation Themis. She is the Greek Titan Goddess of Divine
Justice. And, according to mythology, those who disgrace her justice
are soon to meet with the fury of Nemesis. The thoughts of US
militarized action against the citizens of their own country is
terrifying enough. The fact that people of color confront this type
of threat from policing factions in their own country everyday is
even more chilling as well as heartbreaking. I don't understand why
it is so hard for folks to admit that Black Lives Matter. Why is
there even a debate about this?
At any rate, I hope that calling in
Themis (Regardless of who chose the name) does bring about Divine
Justice in my country. She does have an asteroid namesake. To find
her in your chart, she is asteroid #24. Nemesis is asteroid #128.
During our first eclipse this Friday, asteroid Themis is retrograde
at 0 Scorpio 34. I was afraid that by the eclipse in July she would
be sitting at 29 degrees squaring Saturn Rx back in Capricorn.
However, by that eclipse she will have turned direct and be headed
toward 2 Scorpio. Nemesis at that time will be at 21 Virgo and in
trine to the Full Moon in Capricorn (wide, but waxing).
Meanwhile, Hekate during our eclipse on
June 5 is retrograde headed toward 19 degrees Sagittarius. She is
merely 4 degree away from the Full Moon in Sagittarius thus
qualifying for a conjunction. By the final summer eclipse on July 5
(there are 2 more this Fall), Hekate will have retrograded across the
eclipse point of June 5th and will be holding Rx headed to
13 degrees. We are essentially...at this time...surrounded by Titans
at this lunation. Their themes and mythology are already playing a
large part in this set of eclipses.

The energy of this trio of eclipses
took a sharp upward bend as we crossed through our first quarter Moon
in Virgo (May 29 at 11:30 PM EDT). This will intensify as move toward
our eclipse on Friday with some potential reprieve from the more
erratic nature of the eclipses themselves coming as we move past the
Last Quarter Moon on June 13th. Feelings of heavy mourning, deep
remorse and emotional fatigue blankets us as the Moon wanes following
the last quarter.. Mars also finds Neptune by conjunction the next
day bringing the tides of emotion into our physical bodies. We are
weak. Vulnerable and saturated. Remember, Neptune is also stationing
(6/22) to retrograde as we pull into this point. So his energies will
be amplified as our 1st New Moon in Cancer rumbles in. As
will Mercury's. He stations Rx (6/18) just a few days prior to the
Solar Eclipse on the solstice.
From that Solar Eclipse on the solstice
(6/21) ALL the way toward the Lunar Eclipse on 7/5, the energies are
going to ramp back up again. Meeting with sharp intensification at
the first quarter of that cycle on 6/28. The first quarter forms only
hours after Mars enters Aries on 6/27.
In Washington DC, as Friday's Eclipse
culminates, the sign of Libra is rising. In that chart, Venus Rx in
Gemini would be the chart ruler. I'm going to attach links to
writings about the symbols (as they are ridiculously hyper-relevant
to the themes we are dealing with under this eclipse) involved in
this chart's AC and chart ruler below. For the AC, I've included a
link to Blain Bovee's write up. For the chart ruler, I pulled out a
blog post from Lynda Hill about the degree that is included in a
write up about the New Moon in Gemini eclipse of 2011.
The AC falls at 13Libra
While the chart ruler moves toward 12Gemini
As
you can see in the chart above, using equal house calculations, that
puts the Sun/Moon running from the 9th
house (Sun, Venus, NN, Vesta and Mercury, who is in his RX shadow
here) to the 3rd
(Moon, Hekate, and the South Node).
Regardless
of what is rising in your location, we all get a nice hurricane like
mutable cross with the Sun in Gemini, Moon in Sagittarius and Mars in
Pisces all at 15 degrees. It reminds me of the spin cycle on a
washing machine. Which is appropriate as the outlet for the mutable
t-square is found in the sign of Virgo. This is where we need to give
our emotions space. To press them all out. To have them heard.
Through prayer. Through solidarity in providing speech and platform
for those who suffer and are unheard. This is where we remember and
honor the dead. This is where we reach out to those that are mourning
with humility and service. In my neck of the woods, we greet mourning
with food. We spend long sleepless nights sobbing together over an
endless pot of coffee and the healing bits of love that folks put in
these banquet offerings. They have healing baked right into them.
In
times of grief, I believe people should be allowed to freely feel
whatever the fuck it is they are feeling without judgement while
sheltered in protection by those who may be mourning with them or
just honoring the space for their pain. Grief is birthed of love.
This is also where we position ourselves to accept that more loss of
life is likely coming. The saturation will continue upon the
collective almost as if the Universe is purposely targeting our
hearts with grief in an attempt to help us overcome our indignation
and self-inflicted hatred perhaps quelling our romanticism about some
kind of violent uprising where our chosen “side” topples the “bad
guys” and rises victorious. As if we are given a chance to perceive
of the fact that the vitality of our planet and that of the human
race and all life upon this planet is of more importance than “being
right.”
This
Full Moon carries the kind of sheltering, feeding and nurturing type
of protection I am speaking of illustrated by the proximity of Ceres
in Pisces to Mars. Like a school of dolphins circling a person lost
at sea, Ceres envelops Mars sacrificing her own self empathically to
protect him from sharks that may do him harm while he is vulnerable.
The
way to fully bring ground to the energies of this tsquare is found by
deliberately employing the higher energies of Virgo. When we enter
into situations well grounded and with the intention to heal
ourselves, to care about others who also suffer, to help and to serve
others we step into the eye of the funneling, spinning, hurricane and
squeezing forth of emotional energy that finds us at this Full Moon
in Sagittarius. We don't need a hero at this Full Moon. What we need
is Virgo. Seeking first to heal ourselves and then extending those
efforts humbly outward to whomever we can. Providing care without
question. Providing safe space for healing without judgment or
criticism. By listening. By protecting. By providing and sharing
harvest/support with whomever may need it. Whomever may be suffering.
To ground ourselves in service to one another.
As
Virgo is the energy that balances this Moon's mutable tsquare, we are
also going to be called to prepare. Like squirrels. I have been
saying to do this since the beginning of the year (gathering
supplies, etc) prior to even Covid-19 making an appearance. Simply
because I've been working on Solar Returns in 2021 and caught a
glimpse of a stellium in Aquarius that laughs in the face of the
warnings about “Winter is coming” that preceded Saturn's entrance
into Capricorn. What I saw with the Aqua stellium at the first of
next year was more centered around the weather and record breaking
icy/cold conditions that could threaten matters of utility and what
have you in the US especially in states that are unprepared for harsh
winter conditions. In that, I've devoted my 2020 to making sure my
family and home is prepared for loss of access to supplies and
utilities. Yup. Have gotten some crazy looks. But, following my
intuition in regard to astrology has led me to being quite well
positioned at this time. So, I'm going to keep doing that.
Now,
the next bit of information I'm going to give you is going to sound
like I'm trying to be a peacemaking pascifist. I am by no means a
pascifist and my anger over what I've witnessed from events in the
United States is straining against it's leash just like everyone
else's. But....for as long as Mars remains in Pisces, what we need to
do is rest, mourn and heal.
Mars
in Pisces often reminds me of the warrior's retreat. There are
stories in our modern mythology that capture this. There are several
superhero's who dismiss from “duty” to enter a place of healing,
meditation, training and reprieve prior to their re-emergence as
re-centered and re-focused warriors. Based on that theory, the
“warrior”/Mars”, re-emerges in this renewed state as Mars
enters Aries.
Mars
enters Aries on 6/27. He will stay in that sign until the first of
2021. That, my friends, is going to be a long battle. As Mars enters
Aries, Jupiter and Pluto meet on June 30th
while both are retrograde at 24 Capricorn 06. This sets us up for
that big grand finale eclipse on July 5. If we look at how our advice
cards roll, we can kind of discern what the energies we will be
thematically dealing with. I will talk more on the advice card for
this lunation in just a minute. But, first let me remind you of the
guidance cards I drew at the end of 2019 for the lunations in 2020
during this set of eclipses.
June
5: 2 of Coins
June
21: The Hanging Man
July
5: Knight of Wands
July
21: The Fool (this is the 2nd
New Moon in Cancer and the first lunation in a series of 3 that is
not an eclipse).
What
this tells me is that during the solstice there is a good chance that
we are involuntarily pinned in place. By that time, Mercury will have
officially turned retrograde and Neptune is stationing to do the same
on June 22. Now those two stations occuring at the same time are
going to create a very confusing atmosphere for quite a while. So,
holding in place as that occurs makes sense as indicated by the
Hanging Man. However, as Neptune settles into his Rx and Jupiter
catches up with Pluto, what we are going to see is exposure and the
removal of veils. We will be able to more fully assess the nuts and
bolts of the framework that is contributing to the chaos we are
experiencing. The station points of Neptune and the conjunction of
Jupiter and Pluto will work in tandem with the Mercury Rx which (like
our previous Rx of Mercury from Pisces to Aqua) will hold 3 sextiles
to Uranus in Taurus birthing forth a semblance of clarity if only on
intuitive levels. Mercury in Cancer, imo, is indisputably the most
psychic placement for Mercury in the zodiac. When she meets with
Uranus in Taurus there is going to be a very strong sense of
“knowing” that will overcome anything written or provable.
Obviously...from
our time of being “pinned” with the Hanging Man during the
solstice we are primed and aflame with the Knight of Wands at the
July 5 eclipse. Then, we have a fresh page awaiting us under the Fool
with the 2nd New
Moon in Cancer. Following that lunation, things may settle just a
tad. But, bear in mind, the ecliptic IS NOT finished rolling through
2020 yet. We still have 2 more eclipses at the end of the year, plus
Mars retrograde and another Mercury Rx before we are finished. Just
as there was turbulence felt as all our current planets stationed to
turn RX, there will be turbulence also when they all turn direct this
fall. There is more turbulence awaiting us at Netpune's station this
month and during Uranus' station in August. I don't want to sound the
alarm that these rx stations are anything unusual because they are
not. This occurs yearly and no it is not that uncommon for all our
big guys to be backward at the same time. As for Venus and Mars,
their retrogrades happen about every 18 months versus yearly and
Mercury dances backward at least 3 times within a calendar year.
natio objective is to point out where things have the best chance to
go sideways and illustrate the tempo of the skies as we move forward
so that we can beging to “feel” our way forward and learn to
better trust those personal intuitive signals because at this
time...as our access to informaiton and gullibility are being
weaponized and turned against us...what your heart is telling you is
likely about the only truth to be had.
So.
When I advise you to stop and focus in on healing and allowing
ourselves to mourn during the remaining days of Mars in Pisces...it's
not because I think any of what we are seeing is ok. It's absolute
obvious and utter bullshit. It's justified to be enraged. What I am
saying is go home. Heal. Restore. And, prepare. We have a very long
journey ahead of us with severe twists and turns. It will not be over
quickly. It will not be over without an even bigger mess than we find
ourselves in now. The situation is dire in case you have not noticed.
This is the time in which we pause, step back and ready ourselves for
what will likely be a battle (of official or unofficial capacity)
that will completely redefine not only what we know as the United
States but the in a lot ways bear impact upon the redefinition of the
World we know.
Whereas
I'm not trying to preach “lay down and take it” I'm not trying to
preach nihilism or scare folks either. All I'm doing is advising you
of the energies we are working with and the best way to use them
effectively. We will fatigue from this saturation of emotion. More
lives will be lost as we move forward. It's not inution telling me
that part. That's just logic. We need to regroup and ready ourselves
for what lies ahead be it spurned by the weather or whatever the heck
that orange thing is in Washington or his puppeteers/enablers. This
is time to move under the radar. Keep your plans to yourself. Ensure
you have access to provisions. Support one another and work to build
those networks of support now (those who can collaborate with you in
regard to provisions or what have you). And, as far as me
(personally) I am looking to back up heat, water and electrical
systems. Something I have slated to have at the ready prior to
December of this year. Mutable outlet in Virgo? Be a good squirrel.
Get prepared. It's hot out there now but ...winter is, indeed,
coming.
There
is a brief period of kind of “settling” that occurs after the 2nd
New Moon in Cancer in July. However, we will begin to feel the
energies of that last set of eclipses begin to ramp up as early as
the New Moon in Virgo on 9/17 which comes with Justice as the
guide...by the way. And, coincides with Mars' station Rx a week
previous on 9/9.
Ciro Marchetti/Legacy of the Divine Tarot |
Our
guide for this Full Moon is the 2 of Coins. This card strongly
correlates to the energy of Jupiter in Capricorn. Which is...once
again...an energy I've come to know as one that is quite prone to
bring “the Divine” right onto the ground with the rest of us.
Since Jupiter has entered the sign of Capricorn I've seen the soul of
the Divine through the eyes of the vulnerable. The sick. The poor.
The repressed. The voiceless. The nameless. The murdered. The
shackled. The oppressed and the abused. Divinity was pretty hard to
see, though, if you were distracted by skin color or if you were
assessing the value of human life based on how it bears impact on
your bank account.
ONE SIMPLE CONCEPT |
Two's
in the Tarot deck are pretty dynamic cards. They call us to a point
of balance and many times include joining with others in some way
under an umbrella of shared values. Under Jupiter in Capricorn, we
can ally ourselves and share resource with others who abide by a
common set of values and ethics. Such alliances can build bridges and
link us together in ways no one could have fathomed. Agreement on one
simple concept in the midst of chaos can establish a sense of unity
and stability that crosses religious, cultural and socio-economic
boundaries unifying what was once divided into a vast network of
support based upon that ONE SIMPLE CONCEPT(like FUCK RACISM)
regardless of any other disagreement on other
points/philosophy/theory.
In
general, the 2 of Coins shows us that we have gotten a taste of what
it is like to realize and obtain something of value. Now, in the face
of challenge, we are being tasked to uphold and cling to that which
we believe to be of the most value and attempt to move forward. As
you can see in the card, the conditions are wet. Turbulent and
stormy. Not only do we have to deal with those elements but our only
mode of travel is unicycle. We can only carry forward with us that
which we deem the utmost importance as try to balance ourselves
against the weather. Afterall, our own balancing and navigation is
something we can maintain control over...the weather? Not so much. So
that becomes relevant too. Focus on what you have control over and
what it is you can do. What you have to offer may seem small or even
insignificant. But, if it embodies an intention to reach out with
humility, service and generosity toward your fellow human it is
enough. Intent and effort are rather big deals when it comes to
anything Saturn related.
Self-managment
and minding your own business in so far as not chasing folks around
trying to tell them how to manage themselves and their business is
also relative to the 2 of Coins of Jupiter in Capricorn. Eyes in your
lane. Handle what you can. Help where you are able. Otherwise don't
assume your theory and set of beliefs hold authority over anyone
else. We've enough on our plates just dealing with ourselves, right
now. Instead...reach deep. What is fundamentally important to you to
hold on to like a compass and inspiration as we move through this
storm? When conditions are so skewed that you cannot see but a few
feet in front of your face...what core values do you lean into to
guide you? That's a lot of what the 2 of Coins is about also. We
choose our coins and steer our life by them with the highest form of
“value”...of course...found not in a tangible coin but held
within a set of ideals, mores and core principles. We will need
those two coins we choose at this Full Moon to help us remember what
is important in the face of fuckery. To help prompt us to just do the
right thing. Or maybe to remind us of what that “right” thing is.
At
this lunation, I was given the title of the write up intuitively
through a traditional Scottish song. According to wiki (because I had
no prior knowledge of this song) “it is often sung at the end of a
gathering of friends. It was purpotedly the most popluar parting song
sung in Scotland before Robert Burns wrote Auld Lang Syne. It has
also long been sung in Ireland. The “parting glass”, or “stirrup
cup”, or “le coupe de l'etrier” was the final hospitality
offered to a departing guest. Once they had mounted, they were
presented one final drink to fortify them for their travels.”
This
is where we each take our parting glass. Where we toast the dead and
honor our pain. Where we make our leave in brief retreat. To prepare.
To heal. To come together once again when we are stronger and more
well prepared to navigate the longer journey that awaits us. One that
will traverse time, history and redefine our current concept of
humanity and our world as we know it for ages to come.
