Morning Star: Astrology for the week of December 5 to December 11, 2016

Monday, December 5, 2016

This morning we wake up to an Aquarius Moon leaving a trine with Jupiter in Libra (midnight) and an overnight sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius (1:36 AM). She then moves on to a conjunction with Mars at 3:50 AM and sextile with Uranus at 6:24 AM. Following these movements she is Void until entering Pisces at 11:32 PM. As I type this, I have one thing in mind. Standing Rock. Children, this is a dispute over sacred indigenous land and clean water rights. But, it is also much bigger than that. It's about the water quality of our entire nation and how it is under threat from corporate greed all undercover of a veil of “progress” and other lies. I'm a sideline player here. Attempting to educate folks in my little neck of the woods. Weeding through the bureaucracy in an attempt to let folks know, this is NOT just an indigenous issue. It is indigenous people working to protect all of us that inhabit this country and this planet. Today is Standing Rock's evacuation date as we head toward a First Quarter Moon at 4:04 AM on the 7th that perfects between the signs of Pisces (Water) and Sagittarius (Government/World). What happens this week in regard to Standing Rock is going to be a big deal to ALL of us. There are many ways each of us can support this movement. Financially. With our presence. By spreading awareness/education. By caring. Praying. Writing letters. Making calls. It's important. With the sign of Aquarius in play by way of both Mars and Venus (enters Aquarius on December 7) plus the added push of Uranus in Aries this IS the time to make progress on issues of social reform and for collaborative movements. Plus, Mars' ingress into Pisces on December 19 (Water Warrior) is equally important here. So, be aware. Be involved. Be active. If you cannot be physically present, know the quality of the water in your very own backyard is just as important. There is a local job for you in that arena, too. Of course, there are many other issues that are likely to crop up in regard to a call to large collective grassroots social movements. But, this movement is the one I'm watching this week, for sure. This is not the time for denial or sleep. Wake up. Get involved in the world around you. Come out from under your bed and be heard. Overall, this is a week for activism, unity and grassroots efforts aimed at positive social change.

Ok. For the most part, we are looking at a Void Moon most of the day. That is not to say that nothing is due to occur. What it means is that the emotional body is rather latent and what DOES occur will stir less of an emotional reaction than it would if the Moon were active. That also doesn't mean we won't feel anything. It means we are numbed, temporarily, as events unfold. It can, indeed, be like experiencing shock. Yet, those emotions don't exactly go away. They can absolutely lay latent and come gushing out as the Moon reactivates...in Pisces, no less.

This morning we wake up to the Pisces Moon sextile Mercury in Capricorn at 8:29 AM. This is good for facilitating communication and enhances our ability to convey how we feel or what we need. However. It is imperative to remember that Neptune is involved here. While this is the very thing that brings us closer to our intuitive and compassionate bodies, it also makes deception, veils and false promises a strong possibility. Remain grounded. Yes. Listen to your intuitive/emotive body and allow that energy to come through in your communications. But, know the lesser of this energy is out there. Engage discernment. Fact check. Ask for clarification when you need it and, subsequently, check that the messages you are delivering are being received as intended. Be responsible (Capricorn) for what you say (Mercury). Get it in writing...and notarized or something.

Mercury is in shadow right now, too. You can expect certain themes from this time period to be repeated in the near future. Listen for echoes. Mercury officially sextiles Neptune on December 10 at 3:26 AM. His building energy as he waxes into this aspect accompanied by his “slowed” motion as he prepares to turn retrograde are going to lift Mercury up in prevalence this week. Not to mention future weeks as he pushes toward Pluto only to turn retrograde a little over a degree away from an exact conjunction on December 19.
Another important aspect waxes in within the confines of today. Mars in Aquarius marches into sextile with Uranus in Aries at 10:30 PM. Mars and Uranus have been in mutual reception for some time. Now, their powers are officially “locked in.” This is not a harsh aspect. As a matter of fact, at it's highest it is ingenious, precise, future-minded, acts on behalf of the collective, is actively engaged in peaceful grassroots efforts in support of positive change that is beneficial to all. Mars/Uranus is a mixture that is extremely powerful. However, it is not the easiest energy to control.
At it's worst, Mars/Uranus is dangerously explosive, uncontrollably impulsive, erratically violent...a loose cannon. On crack. And, pissed off. The last thing it wants is to conform to any damn thing or be told what to do...or controlled. This makes it even harder to manage. Adrenaline pumps. Bodies want to respond quickly. We feel as if we are in an emergent situation. Breath stops. Energy wants to just explode out into random directions. Volatile. Wildfire.

However, once you can harness the adrenaline. Breathe through the rise in pulse. You can direct this energy. It is electric. It should be treated as such. You know how that goes, right? Grounded. Well insulated (boundaries) and...speaking of throwing a toaster in your bathtub...
Electricity and water don't necessarily mix well. Don't we have a whole lot of Neptune going on in this day too? Mercury waxing into sextile with Neptune. Pisces Moon. That runs into the Sea God himself at 4:36 PM, just a few hours prior to this electrical movement finds critical mass.
Used appropriately and this is a glorious sky. Used with negative intent and it becomes horrific. Says the girl that has a Neptuned out Moon, Mercury in Shock Therapy (in Scorpio 11th house) and Sun/Mars/Uranus all conjunct. I know a thing or two about managing this energy. And, failing at managing it, too. Oddly, you will find that what is beneficial for one is also beneficial for the other.

Saturn. At his strongest. I'll be darned if there isn't plenty out there to be had, too. A mixture of Jupiter to Saturn by way of Saturn in Sagittarius AND through transit as Jupiter from Libra is within orb of a sextile. Not to mention Pluto power by way of Capricorn and channeled through Mercury. Grounding. Integrity. Boundaries. Fortitude. Purpose. Determination. Focus...yes, even with all this Neptune.
Eat well. Drink plenty of water and while you are at it be grateful that you have clean water to drink!!Refrain from over-ingesting stimulants. Breathe. Touch the Earth. Be compassionate but maintain clear boundary. Be wary of over-stimulation by way of technology as well. Find that quiet inner place. Wall it up around you and operate from there. We are all a little more sensitive, a little more reactive and a little more prone to being cattle prodded into mindless action today. Don't allow yourself to succumb to that. Act (Mars) mindfully (Uranus). Speak (Mercury) with purpose, integrity (Capricorn) and compassion (Neptune). Think (Mercury) about collaborative (Uranus) compassionate (Neptune) purposeful (Saturn) movements (Mars). To fully beneficially engage this, you must remember to PAUSE. Breathing is equally important. Do it on purpose. Even if NOTHING happens, know that many will feel as if they are waiting for that final shoe to drop...on edge...sensitive...reactive...wild eyed...impulsive. The same coping techniques apply. Saturn.

Our Tuesday ends as our First Quarter Moon begins. This perfects between the signs of Pisces (Moon) and Sagittarius (Sun) at 4:04 AM...a few hours before dawn on Wednesday. This occurs at 15 Mutable 14 and includes a sextile from the Moon to Pluto that perfects at 4:52 AM.

Sabian symbol for the Moon at 16 Pisces: In a quiet museum an art student drinks in inspiration. Subjective source of strength around all manifestation. Communion with accumulated race power. Deep, vibrant realization.

Sabian symbol for the Sun at 16 Sagittarius: A calm ocean; a motionless ship; lazily soaring seagulls. The moments of pause which sustain and presage change. Alert readiness to act or distress at not knowing what lies ahead.

If you read my forecasts from day to day, before we get started here you might want to check in with Tuesday for a review.
This morning we wake up under the pressure of our First Quarter Moon which is followed by a Moon/Pluto sextile at 4:52 AM. From here, Mercury meets Mars by minor aspect as the Moon forms an inconjunct with Jupiter (8:00 AM). Next comes the more harsh aspect of Moon in Pisces square Saturn at 9:06 AM. Sobering and potentially depressing; but it does, also, bring access to dry land and truth. I'm not saying those truths won't be harsh. Most “truth” is cumbersome to deal with as Saturn resides in Sagittarius. But, it's real. Grounding efforts and boundaries mix well here as well as gathering emotional support. Perspective is equally important.

Following this square, Venus breezes into Aquarius. Values shift. Then, the Moon meets Chiron by way of conjunction at 12:58 PM. Here she is Void until entering the warrior sign of Aries at 5:17 AM.
That Moon/Chiron conjunction sends the Moon into Void status like a dull gong. There is a lot stirring. Plenty to think about. Plenty to consider before the Moon wakes up in the morning. It all swirls and stirs and stews throughout the rest of the day and into the night.

Thursday, December 8, 2016

This morning, we are awake. The Moon has entered initiating Aries and is waxing toward a sextile with Venus newly in Aquarius at 7:03 AM. Venus in Aquarius brings appreciation to all things Aquarian and Uranian. She appreciates collaborative social efforts and causes. She values concepts of community and tribes. She frolics in independence, freedom and higher intelligences.

We are going to need her. From here, the tension begins to exacerbate between the signs of Aries and Capricorn. At 6:44 PM the Moon is square Mercury. The clash is between establishment and innovation. A need for initiative meets with rules and regulations. Arguments can ensue as conversations become heated. As well as a rise in resistance to what we are being sternly told. Or, the message from upper level leadership, quite simply, pisses us straight off. Mind and emotion are at a stand off here. Proper self-assertion and accountability are what should be our guiding lights in handling this.

Friday, December 9, 2016

Paranoia and emotional control efforts dawn this morning as the Moon in Aries squares off with Pluto in Capricorn at 8:53 AM. At it's highest, we face down our darkest fears and bravely engage. We feel the deep cravings in our guts and proactively push toward its satiation. At it's lowest, it is violent, forceful, controlling and slimy.
At noon, we are actively whipped up in a fire trine between the Moon in Aries and Sun in Sagittarius. Fuel.

A few minutes later (12:17 PM), the Aries Moon stands off with truth, justice, balance, equality, peace-making (at it's highest), passive aggressiveness and avoidance (at it's lowest). The warrior is sent to congeniality school. Then, our warrior is reminded of his truest purpose by way of a fire trine with Saturn in Sagittarius. Hold on to that compass...that guiding light of faith...that purpose, that truth. Because, this day keeps going. Pace yourself.
The Moon finds revolutionary Uranus at 4:25 PM just as the Sun in Sagittarius joins Jupiter in Libra by sextile (4:40 PM). Sparks are flying. We are moving and shaking. A veritable collective wildfire that seems to seer the edges of consciousness. Then, at 8:07 PM, the Moon in Aries goes to war with an entire tribal entourage by way of a sextile to Mars in Aquarius. Yet, following this aspect, the Moon is Void until entering Taurus tomorrow morning at 7:42 AM.
Tomorrow, it is likely that a footprint in personal and collective history will be made. With a stomp. Be fueled. Be active. But, also be purpose-filled, mindful, well grounded and personally accountable to manage today's energy best. The answer, across the board, is Saturn.
Meanwhile, Mercury finishes perfection in sextile to Neptune at 3:26 AM.

Saturday, December 10, 2016

Consequence comes home to nest as the roosters start crowing at 6:52 AM. If you acted purposely and maintained a sense of wisdom, perspective, inclusion, self-control and direction over the course of this week, you'll know it. If not, you'll know it, too. This is where the stomp on the timeline of your personal and our collective history is made. I hope it is deliberately and purposely placed. Either way, accountability is more than a thing today. Being aware of YOUR journey. Sharing your truth. Astute aim and purpose. It all culminates here...in this moment. The hammer falls...the arrow flies...authority slams.

At 7:42 AM the Moon reactivates in Taurus. Heals are dug in. But, emotions are stabilized. For a minute. Long enough to catch our collective breath before our cow Moon squares off with Venus in Aquarius at 1:38 PM.
Our Moon is ruled by Venus. But, this movement pits want (Venus) against need (Moon). This is not the Venus that Taurus knows. So, yes, there is some discomfort there. It pits what we individually may need (comfort, stability, leisure) against what the collective (Aquarius) wants (Venus).
The call to stabilization is going to win out here, I believe. But, following this square there are a slew of minor aspects that work to color in personal nuance to the situations at hand. Then, finally, the Moon does begin to soften and subdue as she sextiles Neptune in Pisces. Overnight, stabilization continues with a trine from the Moon to Mercury in Capricorn at midnight. This is followed by an empowering and “rise from the ashes” type of Earth trine between the Moon and Pluto at 9:55 AM tomorrow.

Sunday, December 11, 2016

As Mercury moves away from his sextile with Neptune, blurs in communication begin to dry out. Facts rise to the surface like driftwood. Last night's Mercury/Moon trine helped with this. It brought common sense to the table as well as quelled and stabilized the emotional body. This morning we wake up to a powerful Earth trine between the Moon in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn at 9:55 AM.
The Moon is then gently poked and prodded by Jupiter, Saturn and the Sun by way of inconjunct. At 5:01 PM, we are poked a bit more and reminded of our biases and trigger points by way of a lunar sextile to Chiron.

Meanwhile the Sun becomes increasingly revolutionary by way of a waxing fire trine to Uranus in Aries. The problem with that is the Taurus Moon. While very sturdy and wonderfully uplifted in this sign, this Moon doesn't typically “compute” revolution....not to mention change. But, this fire trine is ALL about it. This becomes exacerbated by the Moon squaring off with Mars in Aquarius at 11:05 PM. Our Cow Moon isn't so comfortable with any of this. But, if you can give her an incentive and something of value to aim for she can better access the powers coming from her current ruler, Venus in Aquarius. From here, she is Void until entering Gemini at 7:42 AM on Monday morning.

On a low end, this energy is anxious. As in, folks with anxiety issues could sincerely feel an uptick in that today. Adrenaline rises once again right as we are sitting down for a piece of rich chocolate cake...dammit. That is NOT comfortable. But, it can use it's powers to push for comfort, stability and the higher motives of Aquarius. I wouldn't want to stand off with a bunch of pissed off and hungry bulls united against a common cause...would you? Nah. I think I'll side with the bulls...thank you very much. Or get the hell out of the way.
Shortly after this Fire trine finds full force, the Sun also squares off with Chiron in Pisces and we become hyper aware of all these previously denied personal issues, biases, addictions, illnesses that are blocking us on our journey. Let the awareness happen. Incorporate it into your self-knowledge. But do not let it stop you. More importantly, disallow it's sickness and pain to continue to control you. Develop more effective coping mechanisms instead.
