Morning Star: Daily Astrology for August 12, 2014

Slowly, our drive is returning as Mars in Scorpio pulls away from his trine with Neptune and waxes toward a sextile with Pluto in Capricorn (perfects on August 15). Today, though, we wake up to the Moon still in the ethereal waters of Pisces. Overnight, she met Pluto by sextile too (2:58 AM) right before Venus entered Leo (3:24 AM).

The sextile to Pluto could have brought some pretty intense dreams. But, Venus in Leo, that's a different animal entirely. I like the placement, myself. And, it heralds some pretty famous and familiar folks like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise, Mother Teresa and the 14th Dali Lama. Do you see the pattern through these folks? It's quite the mixture of drama queens (Madonna/Cruise) all piled up with people who retain the heart of a child (Jackson, Mother, Dali Lama).

Whitney Houston. Lindsay Lohan. Amy Winehouse. And, the heart of a child can be crushed in a devastating way. Yet, it always retains its beauty even if the wearer suffers from the potential sensitivities. Venus in Leo didn't bring these ladies the pain they experienced and it didn't put the narcotics in their hands. But, Venus in Leo wants to be loved for who they are. They delight in who you are and want to be loved the same way. However, each of these ladies (Houston, Lohan, Winehouse..and Jackson, too) have been outweighed by their talent. The person, the Leo, is disregarded in light of creation. And, while Venus in Leo relishes their creative gifts, they also want to be recognized as themselves...the artist, the loving crafter, the Whitney, the Michael...not so much the powerhouse performers that we put in a box after their show has ended. There is a person...a living breathing feeling person behind these creations that is overlooked in light of the brilliance of the creation to begin with. Venus in Leo's ability to create becomes an extension of “self”. What these natives offer you through their creativities, is really a small piece of themselves and when that is overlooked, depending on the rest of the chart, it can be painful...causing the Venus in Leo native to seek attention or warmth by alternative means.

There is a lot of tragedy laced within the stories of some of these Venus in Leo natives. And, each of them were, in some way, overpowered by their talent to a degree that they began to loose a sense of self. At some point, they each became their creations and the person behind those creations was lost. At the same time, there are wonderful success stories attached to Venus in Leo and a nice collection of folks that never lose the wonderment and genuine values of a child.

What marks the difference? Well, a myriad of things factor in like the person's Moon, Mars, early childhood background AND the level of the Venus in Leo person's own self-acceptance, ability/willingness to express that self AND the reactions to that expression as a whole.

Venus in Leo's creations can be like her children. When that child is rejected, Venus in Leo itself can feel rejected. When Venus in Leo is trying to express themselves and they are met with negative reactions or their creations are not accepted, their fire can diminish. What this group has a tendency to miss is Venus in Leo should foster love and acceptance (Venus) of who they are (Leo) first and not put their self worth in a position of dependency upon the reactions of others. Love and accept who you are and if someone doesn't like it they can kiss your fuzzy Leo tail. That would be the advice my Uranian self would give. However, this is no easy thing...not for Venus in Leo and not for anyone. Still yet, very necessary in order to live a fulfilling life. Love who you are. It really can be boiled down to that.

Appreciate how you got to be the person you are. Your experience is unique and holds value. You are unique and hold value. “You are a child of the Universe, no less than the trees or the stars. You have a right to be here.”

By transit, Venus in Leo can bring a desire for creativity and big hair (Woo hoo!). Venus will trine Uranus (August 25) and shake loose some shackles. She will hit Pluto and Neptune by inconjunct. She will meet up with Jupiter (August 18), square Saturn (August 26) and Mars (August 27). Venus' dance card while in Leo is full!
Our other personal planets (Mercury/Mars) are pretty busy in the next bit too. Mercury leaves Leo for Virgo on August 15 where he will aspect just about everything in the sky. Mars is about to get fairly busy in Scorpio. The wheels of forward motion are certainly moving and will keep gaining speed until the slog of Mercury opposite Neptune begins next week. Believe it or not, Leo season is wrapping up already! Virgo season is right around the corner (August 23rd)...and you know what that means...

The Moon reaches Void status after a conjunction with Chiron (11:15 AM) and a grounding and solid trine to Saturn (12:02 PM). We've got time to wrap up loose ends and catch up on a little more rest before the Moon enters Aries tomorrow at 9:01 AM. I'd advise taking advantage of that.

OOOOh! AND HEY OX! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
