Morning Star: Daily Astrology for June 7, 2014

Good morning!

Before you do anything else, sit down here with me for a minute and say this little affirmation:

“I am going to move slowly today. I am going to allot more time than usual to activities that normally require no time at all. I am going to keep breathing.”

Today we wake up to Moon in Libra square Mercury (4:11 AM EDT). Our intuition and our “logical” mind may not be seeing eye to (3rd) eye. Something feels off. And, it is.

Mercury is quivering in the sky. He turns retrograde, officially, at 7:52 AM.

Mercury retrograde is not the end of the world. It really isn't. It is just that it causes so many inconveniences in our technological world. Computers and the internet get wonky. Cell phones spontaneously combust or disappear. The car goes on the fritz out the blue. The weather goes haywire. Its like all these little things that are so integrated into our everyday lives all suddenly misfire at the same time.

Let me refer you to the first part of the affirmation I opened with.

“I am going to move slowly today. I am going to allot more time than usual to activities that normally require no time at all.”

Before we even start the day, it is a good idea to take a few minutes and breathe. Allow the “weekend” atmosphere to envelop you if you can. Sip slowly on your coffee. If there is quiet, relish in it. Appreciate it. Enjoy it. Vow to hold onto that feeling and move slowly and pleasure-fully as much as possible.

Mercury Rx will likely cause some hiccups (to put it mildly). Don't let it get the best of you. Take your time. Step away if you have to.

And, when you have stepped away BREATHE. The second part of the affirmation, “I am going to keep breathing.” Well, of course you are. But, I don't mean merely as a matter of survival.

This is Gemini season. Gemini rules the lungs. Breath becomes important with any Air sign but is a very big deal with Gemini involved. Plus, not only is Gemini involved, it is ruled by the planet that is stirring all this up to begin with, Mercury. So BREATHE. Like...on purpose. You may feel as if you have gills right now, but you really don't.

Ok. That covers what happens before 9 AM.

What happens this afternoon and evening are the big reasons why I want you to approach this day calmly and lightly. The Moon in Libra leaves her square with Mercury and runs right into a conjunction with Mars in Libra at 7:32 PM. What she will do once she moves past that point is serve as a temporary link in a Cardinal Grand Cross with Mars, Pluto and Uranus.

What that does is give us an emotional preview of what to expect when Mars does perfect in square to Pluto and in opposition to Uranus. You are going to want to be grounded for the Moon's passage of these degrees AND for Mars' eventual passage through for a third time. Breathe. Take many, MANY deep breaths today. The waves are coming.

High Tide Time Line (EDT)

Moon conjunct Mars 7:32 PM

Moon square Pluto 10:53 PM

Moon opposes Uranus at 4:14 AM (June 8)

Square to Jupiter happens at 3:48 PM on June 8th.

An example of the higher expression of this energy:

Use the need (Moon) and desire (Mars) for a relationship to cause you to move (Mars) bravely (Uranus) past your fear (Saturn) of intimacy (Scorpio).

Pull out your positive keywords for all these “players” and mix them up as you will.

There is a very strong emotional current here. Powerful. If you can control yourself through it, then consider this “test” aced. You can't control the wave but you can control you.
