First Quarter Moon happens today. Early
in the morning Sun and Moon square off at 17-18 degrees Aries and
Cancer respectively. Tension between how you feel and who you are.
It's quick. Fleeting. But, it is pressurized. Quarter Moons always
are. This perfects at 4:31 AM EDT.
For Sun at Aries 18: An empty hammock.
For Moon at Cancer 18: A hen scratches for her chicks.
There's no time for swinging in the hammock today. We must do what we need to do to feed the children.
From The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer, "It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone and do what needs to be done to feed the children."
Sun in Aries is the warrior. We don't
feel much like a warrior today, though. We may WANT to but we are
under a Universal course correction right now.
We are re-evaluating our motives.
Re-evaluating what relationships we put our energy into. We are
re-evaluating the support we receive from others...or not. Slow down
warrior. In order to fight effectively, you are going to have to mind
your body and attend to the care taking of your weaponry. This is an
internal battle. Will vs emotion.
Moon squares Mars at 8:35AM and is
felt most of the morning. Sun/Moon/Mars make a t-square of
their own, folks. Who you are vs how you feel vs what you want to do.
Can you make those things work together? Moon/Mars is conflict
between what we need, what we feel and what we are driven to do.
While we are fighting with ourselves,
Mercury enters Aries at 11: 35 AM. This is our “Mental Spring.”
Ok? The brain awakens. When a planet crosses the Aries point, it is
reborn. Retrain your brain. In what areas of life are the lights
coming on for you? Think of the Moon's passage from Pisces to Aries.
Now, our brain is making that trip. From the quiet depths of the womb
where everything is quiet, softened, subdued...to a feeling of every
nerve ending in your body is AWAKE and exposed to the environment.
We cannot recall what this was truly
like when we were born. But, the thought of it does help you realize
why the first thing that babies do when born is cry. Everything is
raw. Very raw.
But...oh...be wary of aggressive
drivers. Be wary that your mouth may go off without much
contemplation behind what you are saying. Be wary of becoming
accident prone. Yes, again. Be careful. “Accident prone” is
written all over the stars right now. Time will speed up EVEN MORE.
But, our actions are skewed.
Help Mars RX in your life by taking up
activities that promote deliberate, slow and skilled action. Yoga,
for example. You don't run races in Yoga. You employ balance. Focus.
Yes. You need something like that right now. Balance. Focus.
Deliberate slowly orchestrated action. Foster control while your
brain is on fire.
Stability comes slowly. Moon waxes to a
trine with Saturn in Scorpio perfecting at 2:14 PM. Look there. Your
boundaries are right where you left them. Your boat in a sea of flux.
Get on the damn boat.
Pause. From here the Moon reaches Void
status. If you have something that needs to be started today, do it
in the morning. If you have strings that need to be laced, do it in
the evening.
We will Roar in the morning (Moon
enters Leo at 5:51 AM EDT tomorrow). You are going to want to rest up
for that!
On another note in regard to the First Quarter Moon, the sabian symbols for this Quarter are:For Sun at Aries 18: An empty hammock.
