Our New Moon in Libra dawns on October 6 just a few minutes past 7 AM EDT. It's Libra. Of course it's fashionably late for sunrise service. Fresh Luna whirls into our atmosphere twirling the skirts of The High Priestess. She mysteriously manages to stay in rhythm even though falling right in the middle of the final Mercury retrograde of the year. As a matter of fact, rhythm is likely to make more sense than rhyme as we move forward.
This lunar cycle begins as Mercury completes his second square to Pluto in Capricorn (10/1) and trine with Jupiter in Aquarius (10/3). Each of these planets, too, moving more slowly these days as they chug into their direct stations emitting more focused and concentrated energies. As a matter of fact, Pluto stations direct less than a half an hour after this New Moon. Jupiter and Mercury will each station direct on the morning of October 18 with Saturn falling in line on the 10th. In our more immediate future, though, Mercury now travels toward an inferior conjunction with the Sun (10/9) and a conjunction with Mars (10/9) both in Libra. It's an active and shifting sky in which we are still, in some ways, held captive to the energies at hand as we were under the Hanging Man. With the High Priestess guiding us, it's a given that we are encouraged to operate on very subtle and quiet levels while paying very close attention to our environment while gathering up every bit of insight and information it has for us. Information IS incoming and we will be quite prone to act upon it. Yet, mindfulness is quite key as aligning the timing of our engagements with the tempos of the universe will be quite crucial.
The High Priestess has secrets. She advises this is a good time to keep your plans and what you know mostly undercover. Hold your cards close to your chest. Her presence also implies we will need to lean into our own guidance systems, faith and intuition to find “Truth” during this Moon. In the external world information is sparse, too prolific or misconstrued. As we travel with Mercury Rx, this is certainly a time to speak less and listen more.
The High Priestess signals a time in which matters of quiet and spirituality should be prioritized. This is a time for delving into studies of a spiritual nature be they focused upon astrological theory, mythology or theology. Studies of symbolism and the intuitive language/dreamscape are favored under the High Priestess. She does allow for sharing of the basic bones of information that you find with others. But, it's not a time to be openly or publicly doing so. This is time to lean into trusted circles where we can speak freely and trust the audience. It would be rare for the High Priestess to appear as a public spokesperson or to give a speech, for example. Her partner the Heirophant would. But, the High Priestess performs ritual in solitude or with a small circle of followers or co-worshippers.
Our Priestess is the keeper of the
stories of matrimony and matriarchy which has resided quietly in the
shadows for centuries.Delving into matters of ritual and meditation
are wonderful expressions of her energy. Asses your altars and
freshen things up. Look to your daily routines for ways to help them
feel sacred. Enrich your activities with intention and purpose.
The Priestess conducts much business under cover in a cult-like fashion as she quietly flows with the phases of the Moon. She is finely tuned into the more subtle languages such as non-verbal communication, symbolism, synchronicity and intuition. Information flows in more freely when she is around but we have to kind of “pierce” the veils with initiative and curiosity first. Devoting ourselves to a little of time everyday to turn everything off and just listen to silence is just good practice. Sensory deprivation works very well under the Priestess, also.
This is also a time to treat our bodies like a temples. As if they are sacred (because they are). Physical, mental, spiritual and emotional ills could present during this time cluing us into where healing and self-care efforts are necessary. Physical detoxes and declaring a “vow of silence” in certain areas, toward certain people or around certain topics is also supported. The Universe will also be rich with symbolic information during this Moon. So, ensure you remain observant of all you see, feel and hear around you and watch for instances of de ja vous, divine intervention and synchronicity. Be prepared to note the unmentionables and the indescribables but we also need to be prepared to keep most of what we uncover under this cycle to ourselves holding steady while Mercury rewinds and much of our outer sky begins to pull into station in preparation to turn about.

Embarking upon a highly unusual journey in which getting there is a very remote prospect. But along the way, upon the eternal road, you come upon absolutely everything that can trigger inner changes. You are granted the perfect view of the entire passing scene. And as you take it all in, the alchemy of deep process inside the soul optimizes the value and meaning of what you meet. Slowly, just underneath you become aware, in sync and steady on. And soon all is perfect. You know where you are and you recognize what is asked of those with eyes to see.

Definitely completely attached, but what you are attached to changes drastically. Each time it is to the source of sustenance. If at first a mother, womb, an elemental past, it can easily become later on a great teacher, a path, a journey. You are still thoroughly, personally hooked into the sweetness, the juice, the power. Yet as the levels shift, as the attunement deepens, you go from destructive enmeshment toward incredible openings. And as you learn to cut loose from each last thing and to move toward the next greater thing, you become adept in the rough process of inner soul work. You have an extraordinary aptitude for taking the most binding and heavy-duty circuits and moving into and through them, grasping hold of the guiding influence of ever-greater circles of allegiance. Leading eventually toward mutation and evolutionary breakthrough of the first magnitude.
