Morning Star: Astrology for the week of August 9 to August 13, 2021

Monday, August 9

Our day starts with a spry and fresh Leo Moon who meets with Jupiter by opposition early. This is a balancing act between individuality and fitting into the schematic of the collective. There is a tug of war between what we may feel is best for ourselves and popular opinion.

Plus, beneath the surface of the day, Mercury makes an inconjunct to Pluto and Mars tweaks in biquintile to Chiron. This is edgy. Potentially catalyzing self-doubt or twinges of paranoia. Whatever the issue, the Moon to Jupiter opposition makes it bigger. It can just as easily represent ambition toward healing and resolve to overcome one's own fears.

The Moon is briefly VOC following her contact with Jupiter. She enters practical and health conscious Virgo at 10:56 AM. The rest of the day is geared toward production, fixing, serving and caretaking as Venus waxes in opposition to Neptune. Hearts melt and mirages are birthed.

With Mars, Venus and the Moon in Virgo, our Sea God and his chaos and confusion are well tended. However, it will be important to balance out self-sacrifice in service with self-care and time for rest. Venus surely adores being of help but doesn't need to overtax herself to the point that she becomes the one in need. Boundary works well here as well as balancing compassion with discernment.

Just before the final hour of our Monday clicks away, the Moon and Mars join forces by conjunction in Virgo. This allows us to clean up any messes the potential tidal waves of Venus to Neptune may have created. There is determination here to prioritize and get everything into good working order. Worries can certainly manifest as anxiety and troubles can rumble in the belly. So, it's a good idea to gear diet toward something gentle and ground worry in tinkering for solutions, instead.

Tuesday, August 10

Today's Virgo Moon has a quite active ruler. Uncertainty and befuddlement may return as Mercury finds Chiron just before Noon. This follows the creation of a Yod that holds the Moon in Apex between Saturn Rx in Aquarius and Chiron in Aries. Whatever is found askew we feel a personal responsibility toward addressing it. Our success in that depends upon our ability to remain flexible and our capacity for initiative. Mercury's minor aspect to Chiron could bring past efforts to the fore that fell flat. However, the Moon's trine to Uranus in Taurus shortly after offers practical insight that could be quite useful in finding a common sense solution as long as we are willing to try something new.

Tonight, Mercury in Leo opposes Jupiter Rx in Aquarius. This marks the half-life of our Mercury/Jupiter cycle that began earlier in the year (Feb/March) when Mercury experienced his first retrograde cycle of 2021. Ideologies and thought patterns from the first of the year are challenged as well as our theories about who it is we are and where it is we want to go. This could also serve as prequel for our 2nd Full Moon in Aquarius on the 22nd as it falls just a few clicks away from the degrees of that lunation. Plus, ego and idea could become rather inflated and attached to personal opinion here. Mercury and Jupiter interactions this year have been quite personally poignant for many. That only makes sense if we stop to consider that each of them rule an end of our nodal axis. As what we know is challenged and our willingness to learn taxed, Mercury and Jupiter frame important life lessons and sometimes major decision changes. It all, again, calls for flexibility while under a Virgo Moon humility and the rolling up of our sleeves may also be requirements. Our ability to finagle our perspective may also play a role. Be sure you are not looking too closely or not closely enough. Be mindful of the details. But, don't get lost in them.

We dream deep tonight as psychic and physical boundaries become highly permeable under a Moon/Neptune opposition. This can be emotional and vulnerable or fill our night with water-colored images that, once inspected, reveal what we have denied, sacrificed or forgotten.

Wednesday, August 11

This morning feels a little more settled as the Moon in Virgo finds Venus by conjunction 6:16 AM. This is especially true if we have prepared our morning routine to run smoothly. However, it's likely something isn't working right be it an appliance, our schedule, our methodology or the way we have stacked our priorities as Mars in Virgo squares the nodal axis.

The balance point for the mutable t-square created here falls in Pisces which may call us to surrender, creativity, forgiveness or even prayer.

Focus and resolve restore as a lunar trine to Pluto pulls us toward productivity (7:22 AM). From here the busy Virgo Moon rests until entering Libra at 4 PM. Under the Void Moon, there is certainly a feel of something being off or missing as Venus finds Saturn by sesquisquare at 9 AM.

Once the Moon awakens, Mercury shifts into his domicile of Virgo at 5:57 PM. This shifts our perspective from “What about me” to “What can I do to help.” Mercury is very settled in this sign and will soon start making plans and scheduling tasks. The caution is to avoid becoming overly critical. Mercury's entrance into the sign of the Virgin ignites an official stellium. Disallow pessimism to take over. Instead, work your way forward step by step.

Before nightfall, Venus in Virgo finds Pluto in Capricorn by trine. Under a Libra Moon, yearnings for partnership and luxury may grow exponentially. Cravings, in general, may blossom. Libra Moon is known for having a bit of trouble deciding what it is she finds comfortable or satisfying. But, the Venus/Pluto trine makes what it is she wants undeniable. Demure gives way to desirous before the day is out.

Thursday, August 12

Boundary and accountability cloak our well poised Libra Moon this morning as she finds Saturn by trine at 8:33 AM. She moves on to oppose Chiron after lunch which can make her feel as if she is not enough alone or that she doesn't matter. That stirs the pot on Mercury's inklings while in biquintile to Pluto before dawn this morning. Grace and leaning on established networks of allies and friends pulls us through.

The rest of the day is nuanced by minor lunar aspects including an inconjunct to Uranus in Taurus at 5:49. Then, things lighten a bit as the Moon in Libra and Sun in Leo dance sweetly in sextile overnight.

Friday, August 13

Friday rises ominous for more reason than it's numerology. Our Libra Moon is riddled with temptation and trial by fire by way of a challenging and fearful square to Pluto just before midday. Vulgarity may offend but slip out of lips anyway. Shadows fall as do our socially acceptable masks.

We are held accountable for our missteps and mischievousness as Mars finds Saturn by inconjunct at at 12:28 PM making self-control an imperative. Later, whatever feelings are catalyzed by the morning expand as the Moon finds Jupiter by trine. This is like the little girl with the little curl right in the middle of her forehead. We can feel really good or really horrible this evening depending on the choices we make this morning. Confront your fears, tame your demons and do the dirty work of trauma healing for best results. The Moon rests in Void status following this trine. The plot thickens as she enters Scorpio at nightfall. Whether a horror story or one of survival is crafted depends largely upon the individual no matter how much we want to place blame elsewhere.
