Full Moon in Aquarius: See you on the other side

Sabian for 12 Aquarius (Dane Rudhyar):

ON A VAST STAIRCASE STAND PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT TYPES, GRADUATED UPWARD.

KEYNOTE: The necessity of recognizing differences of types and levels of development wherever human beings live and work together. This symbol obviously refers to the ascending process of evolution of life forms and consciousness. It seems to apply especially to the fact that differences of levels exist among human beings. The ideal of equalitarianism has to be balanced by a realization that hierarchy of levels is a fact of nature. Each person should be aware of the level at which he (or she) stands, even as he strives to move toward a higher one. He should look up for inspiration and examples, while helping the human beings of the next lower level to reach up. This is the great give-and-take of evolution, and it applies to sociocultural evolution as well as to the progression of biological species. At this second stage of the sixty-third sequence we find a symbol of “ascent,” contrasting with the preceding one which implied a “descent” of spiritual forces. It warns us against sentimentally overstressing our Western equalitarianism which essentially applies to the spiritual core of all individual persons, considered “sons of God” or spiritual monads. Every human being is potentially divine as an individual person, but THE NATURAL PROGRESSION OF STATES OF CONSCIOUSNESS is an unavoidable reality to accept at the social-mental level.

Juno in Libra finds our luminaries sweetly during the Full Moon in Aquarius on Monday evening (8/3 at 11:39 AM EDT). However, our glowing orbs will have both just passed by Uranus in Taurus harshly. The squares from the Sun and Moon to Uranus likely stir some very unsettling situations and emotions as they each culminate. That storm begins rumbling this weekend. Sun square Uranus can feel squirmy, anxious, irritable, awkard, lonely, isolated or rejected. Folks veer toward hyper-reactivity as a result of over-stimulation or triggering impulse. The catalyzing event of that square will be felt long before it perfects. As the Moon waxes toward full over the weekend the strain of it with the robust emotional energy puts us at risk of being hyper or over-reactive. Or at the very least, nervous or twitchy.

Harsh aspects from Uranus in Taurus can feel like a growing feeling of dissatisfaction or reaching the end of one's patience or tolerance levels. But, it can also impact a Leo Sun/Planet in a way that it feels isolated or rejected especially if the Leo inclined native bases their self-worth upon outside validation.

Feelings of “I've had enough!” are commonly expressed when a person is being influenced directly by Uranus in Taurus, too. I theorize that part of Uranus' job through this sign is to make us clearly aware of the ways in which we are uncomfortable, dissatisfied or disrespecting ourselves and the value of life in general.. He seems to deliberately wear down our patience and tolerance to a point that blowing things up and starting over from the ground up is a concept growing evermore irresistable. Just because planets in the sign of Taurus can labor under extraodinary weight doesn't mean it is obligated to or should. There is more than one way to do just about anything. Anything involved with Uranus or Aquarius is well directed toward experimentation while aiming for effectiveness and efficiency.

See below for the timeline of how the energy of this Full Moon rolls in.

July 31:

The Moon enters the sign of Capricorn at 7:58 AM EDT. The Moon's entrance to Capricorn signals a long and likely heavy journey for the Moon through the sign. She is not Void until Sunday Morning at about 10 AM. On the night of the 31st, the Sun will trine Chiron which is gentle encouragement/support to us to confront our personal issues of anger, fear, toxicity and wounding.

Aug 1:

At zero dark thirty on this day the almost Full moon in Capricorn squares Chiron in Aries (00:30 AM).

At about 3 AM, the Moon glides nicely through a trine with Uranus in Taurus

But, by daybreak on the East Coast (6:50 AM) Mercury in Cancer is staring down Pluto in Capricorn. That is energy that can intuitively feel a storm brewing on the horizon. It is also that stuff nightmares, paranoia, fixation and calls to confront one's own mind-demons are made from. So, when we get that “intuitive hit” or dreaded feeling of impending doom, it's going to be fairly natural to take the perceived threat personally. As in a feeling of “The strorm isn't only coming...it's coming for me!”

As the Sun begins to descend in the sky on the first day of August, the Moon then squares off with Mars (5:22 PM EDT) just prior to roaming through the final bit of darkened scary dense territory that IS the Capricorn dark forest, right now. She begins with a conjunction to Jupiter at 7:57 PM on 8/1. There is room for a bit of reprieve (or a nightcap) as the Moon passes by Neptune at 8:55 PM EDT. But, Luna is not out of the woods yet.

August 2:

At 1:57 AM, the Moon finds Pluto by conjunction. She moves forward to oppose Mercury at 4:52 AM. By 7 AM on the East Coast, those cries of ENOUGH or rude early morning wake up calls are going to be going up as the Sun officially squares Uranus. Then, the Moon finds Saturn by conjunction 9:59 AM. That aspect drives the Moon into Void Status. It could feel like the air has been sucked right out of the room around this time. It could sound like a startling and quick crack of thunder afterwhich there is a brief dull hollow silence. That “dull hollow” and “heavy” feeling lasts the duration of the Moon's Void status which finally is offset a little as the Moon enters the sign of Aquarius around 2 PM on the evening of the 2nd.

August 3:

The Moon in Aquarius' square to Uranus at 9:52 AM on 8/3 (just prior to the Full Moon as mentioned) creates a fixed cross with the Sun and Uranus which finds outlet in the sign of Scorpio. The energy in the tsquare requires a response. It surely will be satisfied as the set up itself promises to be intolerable on personal levels. But, with an outlet in Scorpio, the highest expression of a response is going to be one that is #1 taken in the interest of your own survival or #2 taken on as an act of proper personal use of power. That latter option requires you have awareness of what kind of power you have access to and some baseline value system in place from which to exert those powers. But, if you'll recall, Mercury at this time is still within orb of Pluto by opposition. That means some confrontation of personal fears and shadow influence that have to take place in order for us to even be able to discern from any point of view what the best course of action for ourselves may even be.

I expect that the feeling of release followed after this Moon finally makes it into fullness will be qu palpable and welcomed. But, the weekend leading in sure does look heavy and...from Capricorn? It's likely going to call us to work. On the weekend agenda it is written, “emotional labor.”

To employ the energy of the weekend, we are actually encouraged to lean right into what the energy itself is trying to compel us toward. Instances of nightmares or paranoid/scary/dark thoughts are very common under Mercury/Pluto. It is very easy to experience intuitively received information as a sign or forbodeance. However, what is occuring, most likely, is the psyche is processing previous trauma (particularly in the atmosphere of the dreamscape) or we are experiencing thoughts driven by the influence of manifestations of Pluto be that our own shadow or even threats coming from those we perceive of as having authority over us in some way. One way to assist with the terrorizing dreams or visions is to not allow yourself to auto-assign meaning to them based strictly on how it felt to experience them. The influx of inuitive information upon the body can stir an anxiety response that feels a lot like a release of adrenaline. Those bodily systems get tripped off automatically even when we are asleep...not only during dreams but especially when we are in a intuitively recepetive state. Yet, Mercury in Cancer opposed Pluto in Capricorn will be pulling things like fears, phobias, trauma and other brain junk forward into our dreams, our memories, etc. What you witness in your conscious mind from that could have been something you needed to see. Because then when the harsh Uranus aspects role in, we will know exactly what needs to be set free, what areas need to be cleansed and what needs to be released at this Full Moon.

If you check the sky around Mercury, you will find that faith, itself, is a concept strongly under duress at this time. Meaning, faith is being tested on individual/core levels. Nothing hits more closely to home or our cores than the sign of Cancer, right? Vesta in Cancer brings our core connections to the concept of faith into an oppositional stance with Hades, Jupiter and Saturn. The solution or balance point is to lean into your faith and allow it to evolve. Allow old beliefs to be purged and rededicate yourself to acts that protect and nurture the very spark of divine life including the one call you call your own. Praying, meditating, talking/venting to a therapist/someone you trust or even hermiting during the Mercury/Vesta/Pluto opposition are great exertions of the energy itself.

We are looking for a healthy and self-respectful venues toward alleviating ourselves of pressure instead of a self-depreciating, self-destructive or unhealthy route. Uranus in Taurus is pretty hell bent on driving home the importance of things like basic health, resource availability and the value of every bit of life (even yours). So, anytime he is prompting or “inspiring” to act. he is also challenging us to be mindful and sincerely grateful for the resources we do have.

Uranus in Taurus energy can be very humbling. If your tower is more centered around valuing money over life (or, self over welfare of all other living things), he will topple it and leave you sitting in its ruins. It is there, in the rubble of your false priority, where you will be given a chance to perceive of what is of true value. Humbled, yes. But, also often grateful in a lot of ways to have been able to witness/experience the sheer simplicity and sincerity of it too. Uranus in Taurus wants to disrupt our deeply rutted routines, evict us from our comfort-zones and destroy our false priorities just to rattle a sliver of basic common sense into our sleepy skulls or something. Can I get an A-MOO?

The same disruptive, uncomfortable, routine and habit destroying energy that hurls itself from Uranus in Taurus can be employed purposely toward looking at things in our lives that possibly link into larger life patterns or experiences in some way (like trauma, conditioning or emotional/mental illness) that need to be changed. If we are aiming to release long life patterns or habits the change isn't going to happen in one step or overnight or with one ritual and not just one Full Moon. We could be desconstructing what has been intricately well constructed over the span of our entire life. Takes time to unravel and redirect all that. There is no need to push yourself to rush into the doing of it or to even chastise yourself for not meeting your every goal. You are allowed to find a way to savor the journey, the building and the experience of life because it is valuable. Because the ability and chance to even make positive changes in your life is blessing enough.

Our guide for next week's Full Moon is the Knight of Cups. I found that quite ironic under an Aquarius Moon because she can be stereotyped as being cold, uncaring, devoid of any emotion. By the way, that has so not been my experience with Moon in Aqua natives or those with Moon/Uranus aspects. I'm actually more under the impression that an Aquairius Moon has typically seen/experienced and been impacted by a lot of emotionally fueled shit, dude. I'm sure it's possible that sometimes the response to that could a person who develops into ice or stone on emotional levels. But, it's not likely a result of never having any access to emotion. As a matter of fact, I'm more of the opinion to believe that the Moon influenced by Uranus is the type to have been inundated by a hyper-sensitivity to emotional/intuitive or basic Moon influence since birth. What you see...for better or worse...is a result of how they learned to cope/adapt to that. Not a reflection of being born as cold or unfeeling. They've kind of been “rattled numb” to a degree that they are unflappable.

I've also found folks with this mix to be extremely compassionate and truly concerned about matters of welfare in connection to all life including that of our planet. I've found them to be nearly as susceptible to being allergic/sensitive or physically reactive to toxins in their environment as those with Water Moons. They seem to intuitively know what it is the networks they are involved in need be that network connected to matters of their employment, friends, family, community, alien support group or whatever. An Aquarius Moon can achieve very high levels of emotional maturity and wisdom. The placement can develop an ability to rise above or step out of stormy emotional waters in a way that it can maintain self-control in spite of less controllable emotions. Besides, anything in Aquarius knows that emotion or impulse are just part of the human machine. There is no need to take them overly personal or let them control you.

Aquarius and Uranus (along with Mercury) are energies that connect to our weather. Odd, weird or unexpected in timing or type weather events are not uncommon at Uranus stations. He will turn retrograde in mid-August just a few days before the New Moon in Leo. Instead of simply being the “water bearer” Full Moon, when matched with the Knight of Cups, it starts to look also like a storm chaser. If there is a storm coming, we first need to ensure the hatches are battened down and the homestead is secure. Take care of the “core” before you go off chasing thunderclouds.

Storm chasers are a mixture of adrenaline junkies, scientists, tech geeks and speed demons. Or, at least that was the impression I got from Twister. They confront the storm in effort to understand the storm. The archetype is a perfect suggestion for expression as we move forward. If there are literal storms or threats around you, then face off with them in a way that defends you safety first and curiousity second. If not, confront your own emotional storms, faith shaking storms, brainscrewing storms and life storms with the attitude of the storm chaser. Fearless with an intent to better understand.

The Knight of Cups is a dreamer even if he is placed in a position of defense. That matches well with the Aquarius' power of Vision. This encourages us to dream with our hearts while using logical means to build what we “see.” What we “see” we consistently and steadily move toward day by day as if it were a star. Or, we treat the obstacles or challenges we encounter as water treats the rock...softly, steadily, consistently smoothing the sharp edges.

With the combination of these two energies we are given hints at the benefits of being able to foster a sense of emotional independence, healthy boundaries and an awareness of what is important enough to us to defend or fight over. Pick your battles. In other words. And, when you find one you think worthy of engagement, don't allow the emotional influence of the situation to control how it is you choose to fight. Instead, convert the emotional influence to fuel and use it to carry out a possibly indirect and long term plan. At this Moon, that Plan begins with deciding what we need to cut ourselves free of, involving ourselves in our own processing of self-care and emotional labors. This weekend's Capricorn Moon calls us to duty, preparation, maturity and accountability in the management of our own healths, homes and those who may depend upon us. The Aquarius Moon can find us lighter, healthier, stronger and prepared to move forward but we will have to put the grunt work in on personal levels first.

Chandra for 12 Leo (Elias Lonsdale)

The mouth of the Amazon River.

Rarely can you get to the central place and stay there. But if destiny is fast and free, you do abide in the heart of creation and you never leave this spot. A host of virtues and gifts are showered upon you as you hold this post with supreme impersonal self-command. The most outstanding of these qualities is a faith and confidence in the powers that be, which can move any mountain. And accompanying this trait is an unworldliness which hosts or orchestrates a threshold awareness, an open door between worlds. You entirely live for the cosmic, the universal, the inner sourcespring. And what you perceive along this path is how everything goes out from here over all the world, but everything returns to here. So that the highest and the truest can once again be sparkled into the shared stream and known to be pulsatingly alive and self-renewing, in the most rapturous gesture of moving with whatever is asked.
