"We are all in this together." That's
been a well intended and greatly indulged phrase since this...
What are we calling it now? Onset of
unusual times? Unprecedented change? Pandemic? It seems folks have a
tendency to dance around what to call what's happening in our world.
As if they are continually looking, maybe, to find the word that fits
the social norm of the moment. At any rate, “We are in this
together” has become the slogan of the COVID-19 campaign.
Chandra Symbol for 18
Scorpio:
People holding hands
around a table. One candle is burning in the middle of the table.
Intimate depths of camaraderie. Forces joined by spirit call.
Gathering in the name of a greater vision. Pooling resources, tapping
what each does best, both inside the self and in soul links with
others. Avid to combine forces. The drive to fuse. Passion, desire,
intent, a surge of power. Being hugely drawn to consume
separativeness and attain to unity and wholeness. A path or journey
that will put you through every test and trial imaginable. Fierce
resolve. And encountering shadows and dissipations so thunderous and
multiplex that it will take everything it has inside to see this one
through.
The phrase “we are all in this
together” is thematic of Mars in Aquarius' social welfare warrior
themes. It smacks of Saturn in Aquarius' duty toward unity and
adherence to the maintenance of social structures. These two bodies
have been positioned in Aquarius for quite some time. Right after
this full moon, however, Saturn stations to turn retrograde and will
back into Capricorn, again. He will linger around the genesis of
Aquarius during the June eclipses. But, he is sitting on 29 degrees
Capricorn for our July 5 Full Thunder Moon eclipse. I've placed notes
of Saturn's whereabouts in 2020 including his positioning during the
eclipses of the year a little further down.
You will see Saturn was in Capricorn
during our January eclipse. He will also be in Capricorn for our
eclipses in July, November and December. In my opinion, the themes of
the eclipses will vary depending on the location Saturn as they
occur. The July 5th eclipse, in my opinion, looks like a
humdinger. If you've ever been to a fireworks show, then you know
most of them build up to a grand finale, right? That's what the July
5th Thunder Moon eclipse looks like to me. It will likely
be tied closely thematically to what we are dealing with in November.
Then, in mid-December, that 29th degree bell gets rung by
Saturn again during the last eclipse of the year which barely
precedes the Jupiter and Saturn conjunction in Aquarius on 12/21.
While Saturn remains in Aquarius during
the June eclipses, we will likely still be clinging to the phrase “We
are in this together.” But, once Saturn turns Rx (in any sign), you
are kind of on your own. What I mean by that is, as Saturn travels
backward, we are called to become self-accountable. Of course, we are
always self-accountable but Saturn Rx is like the boss is no longer
looking over your shoulder. The cat is away and the mice are playing.
From there, your conduct is surely a product of being unsupervised.
However. When Saturn re-enters
Capricorn during the July 5th eclipse, the theme devolves
even further from “togetherness” into grappling for the crown or
morphs into of those WWE Ladder matches.

Things
begin to feel quite differently, tho, long before we ever get to
Saturn re-entering Capricorn. Mars moves from Aquarius and into
Pisces in mid-May. That, my friends, is no subtle shift. He moves
from an Air sign into a Water sign. It's like he's jumping off the
high dive into the ocean. He is no longer the warrior for justice and
social welfare. Instead, Mars grows increasingly vulnerable in
Pisces. Our physical energies may wax and wane. We may feel drifty
and lethargic. Our systems can grow more sensitive and can be at
higher risk of being easily influenced, permeated, intoxicated or
infected. We may loose touch with that feeling of being supported by
social networks and grow lonely or feel lost...as if we were
castaways. This is something worthy of noting on personal levels as
we begin to make decisions about how to conduct ourselves in the near
future. The answer is...carefully, slowly and cautiously according to
incoming movement of Mars.
All
that being said, the Full Moon in Scorpio is something I look forward
to every year. I have used it to ditch all kinds of nasty crap off at
the curb. I'm talking shadow junk...like jealousy, rage, resentment.
I've successfully severed attachment to toxic relationships under
this Moon. I've released monetary and karmic debt. It's great for
binding and banishings. In the physical world, it's usually heralded
in nature by way of the Spring Clean by the May Queen. But in my
life, the yearly Full Moon in Scorpio is where I toss out baggage.
Ironically, she also usually falls during my community's “Spring
clean up week.” Since she lands in the position of being called
out as SUPER this year, I figure that dumpster must be open pretty
wide. I'll be purging big. It's a great time to confront your own
shadow. To stare down your fears. To bring your demons over on to
your team and back under your command. To release negative attachment
or karmic/monetary debt...curses...hexes...what have you. To call
your energy and power...that which is owed to you...back. Embody the
May Queen. Wash the garbage out. Burn it all. Let the smoke clean the
space. Fire is most certainly an excellent energy to engage with when
working with this Moon. Purging can be easy as writing down what it
is you wish to be rid of and burning it over a candle.
Chandra
for 18 Taurus: A woman with hundreds of breasts.
The
fruit of the vine. Limitless supply is the rhythmical law of the
Divine Mother. There are those who are given over to the Divine
Mother and her earthly counterpart, She of Earth, and who are called
upon to give of something beyond them and to do so selflessly. A
heavy responsibility to take on, because there are no boundaries to
it. A certain rapture in being able to serve in this fashion, with
multiple undertones of realization and fruition. Yet the ritual
gesture, the signature, is so given over to the Mother that what
dominates every breath is the explicit need that is here--to live
inside that need, to be surrounded by it everywhere, to know only
that there is somebody, that is everybody here who asks, who must
have sustenance and inspiration. The growing into the task, the
becoming worthy of the investiture and the singular dedication to
complete to the Mother's satisfaction all that is intended in perfect
conscientious endowment.
The
Moon rises big on the horizon Wednesday night and is found in
perfection on Thursday morning at 6:46 AM. It is quite empowered due
the fact it's modern ruler, Pluto, has just stationed retrograde.
When a planet is still found stationary it is believed that its
energies are amplified. More prevalent. More accessible. When Pluto
stations retrograde, it is metaphoric of a snake shedding it's skin
which resonates quite nicely with a big fat dumpster fire Full Moon.
As an example, my husband has Scorpio rising. On the day Pluto
stationed Rx, he decided to shave the beard he had been growing since
about last October. He “shed his skin” and his entire appearance
transformed. Pretty sure I had an astro-geek-gasm that day. But now I
totally feel like a dirty old woman shacked up with some dude 20
years younger than me. I've supposedly lived with this baby faced man
for 10 years. But, I don't recognize him.
That's
what Pluto stations do, though. They transform us by peeling off or
causing us to shed layers revealing more fresh, raw and vulnerable
skin beneath literally or metaphorically. So, since the station of
Pluto coincides with this Moon, the ability to shed, release,
transform, etc also strengthens.
The
traditional ruler of Scorpio, however, is found in Aquarius falling
at a semi-sextile to the modern ruler, Pluto in Capricorn. Mars in
Aquarius can give us precision. As if we were surgeons tasked with a
very delicate procedure. We measure twice. Cut once. Not a single
movement is wasted and everything is timed to perfection. Mars in
Aquarius demands we employ foresight and command our actions around a
set of high minded intentions. Mars in Aquarius supports action that
is less centered around our personal desires and geared more toward
the “welfare of the many.” It acts justly, fairly and without
bias. At it's best, Mars in Aquarius is very cool and logical.
Emotion does not drive his actions. Logic and intelligence does. At
it's worst, it's reactive and rebels with faulty and selfish
reasoning. It becomes less supportive of social welfare and grows
elitist, spiteful and turns against any concept of social unity. An
unpredictable live wire or catalyst for violence against the public.
Instead of presenting as a social welfare hero, Mars in Aquarius can
become the enemy of society.
The
rulers of this Full Moon fall under the themes for the following
symbols:
For
Pluto Rx at 24 Capricorn (Lonsdale):
Stalactites
and stalagmites almost grown together.
Super
tight fit. Custom designed by destiny, tailor-made. The individualist
carving out unique karmic arrangements to bear you across a difficult
passage. A journey undertaken under peril, a secret assignment,
withheld even from your conscious self. Cloak and dagger. The
thoroughly veiled soul, the enigma of destiny. The secret
instructions are writ upon your innermost being and you know them
implicitly. Silent, circumspect, withheld. Superdisciplined, guarded
and private, sworn to secrecy. And inside of all this, secret
brotherhoods and cosmic streams send their emissaries to take up
incredible tasks and think nothing of it.
For
Mars at 27 Aquarius (Lonsdale):
A
man laying stones for a path.
If
vision and practical skills are brought into a place beyond either
one, new worlds can come into being. Tenacity is the key. You have to
see the pattern, inscribe the pattern, and let it set collectively.
For when you are out ahead of everybody else, you must master the
craft of timing in this Earth. Everything is perfect in the right
time and place and awful when out of sync. Contained within yourself
is the blueprint for the future; you need to season and temper the
extraordinary forefront awareness with life-experience, and discover
the intricacies of the cultural landscape. A mission pursued, a task
taken on with a vengeance. A destiny that stands out and speaks
volumes.
Our
guide for this Full Moon is the Emperor. Representing the sign of
Aries in Astrology, his presence brings forth another element
indigenous to the Full Moon in Scorpio and any dealings with
oppositions between the sign of Taurus and Scorpio. That element is
power. These themes involve the recognition or discovery of one's own
power in any situation. As I mentioned, I have used this particular
Moon to release and transform energies connected to matters of
shadow, debt, karma, phobias etc. Severing the energetic connection
to these things transformed the energies that were formerly used to
prop them up. It takes energy to hold a grudge. Resentment robs your
power not only on physical levels but emotional, as well. As does
jealousy, rage etc. Debt..monetary or karmic drains your power or
inhibits your access to it. All the acts I described undertaking at a
Full Moon in Scorpio are, in essence, a re-balancing of power and
transformation of energies from one unfulfilling use and into
something more beneficial. Problem with that being, when I speak of
power, folks either cannot believe they have any or they have too
narrowly defined what it is.
Power
is power. So advised Cersei on Game of Thrones. Which is true. We all
have it and it is accessible by way of a variety of resources.
Resource can be money. But, it can also be your time, your attention,
your choice, your vote, your intelligence or found in your skillset.
Once you find it, though, it STILL means very little unless you learn
how to exert that power effectively. You can shoot bullets in the sky
all day long and never bring home a duck for dinner. You know? With
the ruler of this Moon in Aquarius, efficiency and precision also
come into play thematically. There is sniper like precision available
all taken under a very focused eye and well trained, solidly steadied
hand. Our ability to be effective is determined, in some part by our
functionality, also. Functionality being something we kind of presume
to be static. It is not.
The
Emperor is the supreme ruler. He has power. He also has experience.
He knows the importance of effective action and can accommodate times
of high or low functionality. He didn't inherit his throne. His
knuckles are still bloodied from fighting his way to the top. He's
not going to hesitate shutting down a challenge. But, he's going to
address it skillfully. Under a Scorpio Moon? He's also going to be
stealth as the consequences are life or death. So, his battle
strategy has to bear in mind the severity of that. He advises we
adopt an attitude of readiness. To be brave in the face of challenge
and to learn to be able to anticipate which fire may need to be put
out next. But, he also wants to remind us that whether what we choose
to do as we engage moving forward is a success or failure, that it's
our fault. It's lonely at the top. And heavy is the head. Ensure you
are aware of what is motivating you. If it's fear, you are likely
going to meet with your defeat. Set your aim on survival, instead.
The
Emperor will laugh at you if you ask him who he answers to. He is of
the ultimate authority. He answers to no one. He reminds us that in
the grand scheme of things...even if we may have an employer, a
spouse, a drill instructor, preacher, social pressure, debtors or any
other authoritative body looming over us...we still have power of our
own. He crowns us Emperor's of our own lives in our own right. In the
protection of our own Kingdoms, he advises we find our sense of
personal authority and determine what it is we fighting for. We are
encouraged to sever our ties to things we allow to control or drain
our energies and resources. He advises we command that power return
to us. Then, without hesitation and with skill, precision and
efficiency we employ that energy in a way that we know is best for
ourselves and those that fall under our wing of responsibility. As
Emperors, our individual decisions may vary from situation to
situation. What's important is that in your life, you are at the helm
and consciously making your own decisions. You are not allowing
politics to boss you around Or fear. Or shadow. Or your neighbor. Or
your boss. Or your customers. Or your debtors. Or even the pressure
of social expectation. You and you alone are ultimately responsible
for how you choose to move forward. You will bear the brunt of
consequence from your actions. No one else. Make sure you are the one
in charge. Take your power back.
