Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Leo
I'm a little surprised that I don't
feel this Lunar Eclipse has been over-hyped. Are we getting
accustomed to this type of communication (that which is meant to
catalyze a response) to the point is no longer effective? I wonder.
You know? Catalyzing headlines (whether true or inflated) especially
ones that promote a mindless adherence to “groupthink” have been
quite successful as the South Node moved through Aquarius the last
couple of years. Imagine that.
Anyway. I wonder because I watch this
stuff. I have noticed a fatigue within the populace in general in so
far as being manipulated by a lot of hot air...coming from any
direction. Many have narrowed their focus. For better or worse.
Either upon information sources they deem trust worthy or with those
that align with their own opinion/line of thinking...causing no
cognitive dissonance. Many have paid heed to the call to curtail
excessive online dealings remembering what it was that they did
before. Grounding themselves in activities that they were entertained
by in childhood. I mean...there's a decent market out there right now
for adult coloring books. Almost as if we could viscerally feel the
call of the North Node in Leo as we watched the “external”
devolve chaotically. Angrily. Hatefully. Lots of folks dove within
and sought out things that brought joy...warmth that might help them
to survive an otherwise seemingly icy underworld. Others put on their
best war robes and charged their lion selves straight into this
dystopia. Many fighting in the name of love (Leo) and balanced
against a sincere urge toward defending their idea of social justice
(Uranus in Aries/Mars in Aquarius all last year). A true lionhearted
act...employing passion and the ability to inspire under the guise of
justice. The poorest players became more cold (Aquarius). More callus
(Aquarius). More narcissistic (Leo)...roaring.
This is the Full Moon that brings all
that to culmination (the nodal passage through Leo/Aquarius). It
likely will not be a sudden “halt” called to the entirety of what
we've been dealing with on personal levels the past two years. But,
we will see these cycles coming full circle in our lives and know
that it will become time to seek closure in those areas. At the same
time, it's not like the messages from the nodal axis across
Cancer/Capricorn or are going to be accessible in the immediate
either. These, too, (even if some themes are currently introducing)
will develop more fully overtime.
The opening of the new nodal phase
occurred at the Solar Eclipse earlier this month. This in-between
period serving as both a time for closure and introduction. Likened
to an adjustment/incorporation period, really. That will continue
through the entirety of this lunar phase...and then some in most
cases. Yet, in all cases, I think it is helpful to know how the
themes are going to change. In the instance of this nodal shift, I
find it most important because we are shifting from this call of fire
while the North Node tumbled through Leo. That call changes as if we
were being enchanted by mermaids or sirens as we are cast into the
sea. We are moving away from the call of the Sun and instead called
toward Luna. Big difference between those two, you know? Most folks
do much better dealing with their “solar” selves rather than
their lunar. Meaning, the majority of human kind in recent history is
quite disconnected from the emotional body. This “feel”
embodied by the call of the Wolf on a long winters night under a
full moon.
With the call of the Moon...comes
continual and daily shifts. Essentially we are moving from a time in
which we learned more about ourselves and how to authentically
express that and moving toward learning how to deal with ourselves.
Like...really deal with ourselves. And, this last leg of the journey
that is meant to bring us toward closure of the issues that were
brought forth from the nodal axis in Leo/Aqua? It's hell bent on
showing (exposing) us our vulnerabilities. Our weak spots. Our
wounded knees. On quite personal levels. By doing so, the skies
introduce us to water and bring completion to the self-discovery
agenda of Leo...like taking a lit match and dunking it in water.
We can further hear these themes
echoing forth within the Universe by taking into consideration longer
and larger astrological movements taking place at about the same
time. Chiron is on his way out of Pisces. Uranus is on his way out of
Aries. Jupiter and Neptune are going to spend much of the next year
in square. The pace shifts from swift and volatile under Uranus in
Aries and toward the slow grinding diligent patience testing pace of
Taurus. Our awareness of wounding shifts from discovering matters in
our subconscious on both personal and collective levels that is making
us (as individuals and a species) sick and into an area that shows us
our weaknesses in our abilities to be assertive, deal with anger,
deal with physical handicaps, ineffectiveness all on very individual
levels. Jupiter and Neptune will cast and remove veils throughout.
Permeating our boundaries. Increasing our sensitivities. On top of
skewing our beliefs and dissolving our philosophies...introducing more
vulnerabilities by way of the “uncertain” or “unknown.”
That being said, this Full Moon has
“vulnerability” written all over it. Venus and Jupiter in
Sagittarius are both square Neptune. That's a big hollow “aching
for love and peace” transit right there. But, also? Mars in Aries
is square Saturn in Sagittarius. Our ability to do anything about it
in the way of outright battle or self-assertion is hindered or
restricted in some way. The Moon while waxing to her position as Full
in Leo will have created a water trine with the nodal axis and
Chiron...just a few hours before, actually. While in Gemini, the Moon
will light up in square to Neptune and Chiron in Pisces while drawing
in an opposition to Venus/Jupiter. The Universe throws us “hints”
in regard to these vulnerabilities on our way toward this eclipse.
Plus, her journey through the sign of Cancer will put her at odds
with the collection of planets in Capricorn which will end with an
opposition to Mercury and conjunction to the North Node at 5:50 on
1/20 prior to reaching Void status following an unsettling and
potentially provocative square to Uranus at 8:51 PM on 1/20.
There is good news found in the fact
that Saturn is deliciously in sextile to Neptune here meaning we do
have the power of creative manifestation and a healthy mixture of
boundary and compassion on tap. But, it can also be an indication of
a weak support system to boot. It does give a certain boost to the
ability to be a sincerely compassionate leader, though. Aside from
the fact that a basic mixture of the key words involved here gives us
“construction (Capricorn) of dreams (Pisces...as well as
Venus/Jupiter in Sag).” Our ability to access that tho? Very
dependent upon our ability to deal with ourselves like...for
real...in our insides and stuff. In response to issues that hit some
fairly core spots. I've found that the Universe conspires to
collectively inspire us by way of circumstance toward the call of the
North Node. North node in Leo is inspired to create from a space of
authentic self expression. North node in Cancer is inspired to create
from a space of getting punched in the gut...like a pearl is made or
a baby is born. So, yeah, our success in general as we move forward
is going to depend. So as it should be because...other than “have
you eaten” isn't Cancer's 2nd favorite saying “It
depends”...on the weather, the mood, the tide...where the Moon is
that day? Yes. If you are not familiar with your own emotional
territory or if you have ever wanted to learn about working with the
Moon in her various phases/stages OR if would like to delve further
into learning the language of your personal intuition, etc...the
nodal passage through the sign of Cancer is an excellent time to do
that. It is going to draw us inward, either way. And, it's going to
be a much easier journey if you can employ good boundary, grounding,
accountability, self-direction, integrity/fortitude and remain goal
oriented which is the gold hidden in the South Node in Capricorn.
It's also going to be of benefit to
remember that the Moon remains in Leo quite a while after this Full
Moon culminates. The Moon in Leo becomes active on 1/20 at 10:55 PM
and remains active until 1/22 at 8:20 PM. This cat moon digs its
claws in and hangs out for awhile. Meaning, mostly...it might be a
lot of things but it is not going to be boring. Especially given that
from the sign of Leo, the Moon is going to make some deliciously
fiery aspects...to Venus and Jupiter and Uranus in Aries. That's
going to encompass the official Venus/Jupiter conjunction at 16
Sagittarius on 1/22, btw, after they are sobering up from Neptune a
little. Caution in regard to that coming from the Mercury in
Capricorn and Uranus in Aries square waxing in the background. That
perfects under our Virgo Moon on 1/23. What I see from that is
clarity coming quickly as the fog from Jupiter/Venus/Neptune
dissipates and a tendency to jump right into action of some kind in
response. Mercury square Uranus can be like the spark that lights the
wick on a stick of dynamite. Gaslighting or as we've experienced in
the past...information delivered in a way that is meant to provoke us
toward our own undoing in some way. So bear in mind what you've
learned about that before you employ this fire. And, be wary that
Mercury in harsh aspect to Uranus can also cause erratic action which
leads to personal injury. So, keep your mind in the game and be
mindful of your actions. Best employment comes from the ability to
think/communicate clearly, concisely, honestly, accountably while
also being mindful of a sense of responsibility and maturity. Say
only what you mean and refrain from jumping toward or being catalyzed
toward a certain conclusion. An ability to breathe through those
types of potential adrenaline surges was part of the gold we were to
glean from the passage of the South Node in Aquarius, Mars extended
stay in the same sign last year and during Uranus' stay in Aries.
Trick to that will be navigating the lunar mutable t-square that will
come about on the night of the 23rd into the morning of
the 24th with the Moon in Virgo, Neptune in Pisces and
then Venus and Jupiter in Sag. Yet, if we know how to best USE the
Moon in Virgo in the first place (discrimination, grounding, and
ability to make order out of chaos) then we are well positioned to
deal with that. All these little details about this lunations themes
and coming/goings leads us directly into our guidance card for this
Lunation. The Knight of Swords.
By Ciro Marchetti/Legacy of the Divine |
Knights are the youthful and exuberant
defenders of their respective Kingdoms. When they pop up in a reading
it's helpful to know what the Kingdom they defend stands for. The
Kingdom of Swords stands for things like freedom of speech, truth,
justice, independence, fairness, logic, reason, facts and equality.
It is the Kingdom related to the element of Air; therefore, it is
much more cerebral than emotive. It defers to straight line mental
processes instead of being immersed in or directed by any certain
emotion. The Knight of Swords does battle but he does so with a
sword. It is the Knight of Wands who is more in the grit of hand to
hand combat. Whereas the of Knight of Swords believes in taking up
arms in the form of the pen, spoken word or by way of metal upon
metal within which skill, mental acuity and precision make for a
level battle ground regardless of physical prowess.
One of the biggest issues with the
Knights of Tarot in general is that they can all be a little
impulsive. Meaning, this Knight can be overly eager to fly into a
battle of words or ideologies. At times this can equate to rushing in
and falling on your sword. But, as his most skilled, the Knight of
Swords remains cool, calm and elevated above the emotional. He is
fighting for truth so he ensures the information he has is factual
and not biased. He also ensures he is not falling into a trap of
needless provocation. Then, he charges in. Again, not in anger
because he is above that emotion but with a point, an agenda, a legal
process to follow and armed to the gills with verifiable facts to
support his position. He encourages straight forward communication
and will not be stalled out by pleas for pity or plays on the
emotional system. He does not allow himself to be catalyzed by false
information and rhetoric. But, he will stand up and call folks out on
their bullshit when they are trying to use that to manipulate others.
He firmly believes the truth will set you free. But, he also knows it
will piss you off first. You can either fall victim to allowing that
to unseat you or you can accept the truth “as is” and then
determine a calm and cool-headed course of action that relies upon
the established principles of true justice.
As guide the Knight suggests that you
find that place of cool, calm and calculated in an effort to respond
effectively. And, when you do respond, use your words and defer to
fact and truth rather than allowing yourself to be manipulated by way
of your emotional responses. We are called to rise above that and to
seek the principles of logic, reason and fairness instead. Dumping
ice water metaphorically on situation that may be senselessly
overheated due to emotional response. He's definitely not afraid of
battle. But, he's not going to be drug into one that is created
purposely just to evoke an emotional response without checking out
the facts of the situation first and then taking the time he needs to
discern the proper course of action.
