Overview:
It's an eventful week in the
land of Astrology. We begin on Monday with Venus making a cordial
entrance into her home sign of Libra under an active Gemini Moon
today at 7:28 PM. At the exact same time, The Sun in Leo squares off
with Jupiter in Scorpio occurring as the two approach 15 degrees
fixed. Tuesday, Uranus in Taurus stations retrograde. So, we will
likely experience a few frustrating (to put it mildly) blips on our
radar close to this station which officially happens at 8:26 AM EDT.
On Tuesday night, Venus in Libra makes a sweet trine with Mars rx in
the early degrees of Air (nice to see these two getting along for a
minute, even if the Moon is Void as it occurs). Venus then goes on to
oppose Chiron on Wednesday a few hours before the Sun meets Mercury
Rx by conjunction between 16-17 degrees Leo. Thursday, Venus
continues playing with the rest of the sky found in early degrees by
creating an inconjunct with Uranus newly retrograde in Taurus. She
meets Saturn in Capricorn by square later that same day. Mercury Rx
in Leo meets Jupiter in Scorpio by square in the early morning hours
of the 11th. Just before our Partial Solar Eclipse in Leo
goes down at 5:58 AM EDT at 18 Leo 42. AND THEN! Of all the things I
saw in this week...this thing was my favorite...Mars retrogrades back
into Capricorn on the night of the 12th. Man, you know
it's been rough going out there when you are cheering for Mars Rx to
switch into a Saturn ruled sign...lol. But, seriously, there is
traction in Capricorn. Plus, it also means we are getting more near
the end of this retrograde. Which, on the whole (as someone with a
messed Mars in my natal chart), I've really not struggled with too
much. It's been quite familiar compared to the set up I have in my
natal. However, I've seen plenty of folks spin out due angst and
frustration during. We've surely been tested this summer.
We are in a week that
includes an eclipse...yes. We will chalk up another planet spinning
backward in our week to come which comes with hiccups...yes. HOWEVER,
what I'm seeing overall and particularly in connection to this
eclipse are folks in some way or another stepping into a new way of
life. Moving. Getting married. Starting new jobs or adventures. It's
almost like a fresh chapter with all the raw potential that goes with
that opens within the collective. But, it doesn't occur before
Jupiter in Scorpio reveals a few things to us. This is stuff we need
to know before we fully begin writing on these fresh pages.
Meanwhile, as Venus passes through (by inconjunct and square) the
Saturn/Uranus trine, what we value is due to both evolve and become
restricted. For the most part, Venus' stay in Libra is challenging.
Though, she's well positioned to manage that. The big thing about it
being, she will also retrograde later in the year from the sign of
Scorpio and back into the latter degrees of Libra. That is going to
feed into the “new chapter” too. Venus has her own agenda of
lessons to teach us about these fresh starts.
On the whole, the Moon
continues to wane allowing us to wind things down and enjoy a lower
and more subdued emotional sphere. The Uranus station and the
conjunction of Sun to Mercury Rx are likely going to be the winners
of any monkey wrench throwing contests this week. The back to back
squares of Sun and Mercury in square to Jupiter are going to fall
under the category of “big dramatic reveals” most likely,
starting as soon as Monday. For the most part, though, we are
preparing for our entrance into this “new phase of life” however
we find it.
Monday, August 6, 2018
On Sunday night, the Moon
left the sturdy ground of Taurus and entered Gemini. She passed by
Mars Rx just as the day calendar flipped. She will remain active
through the day but only make minor aspect in the daylight hours.
However, Venus is due to switch gears and enter home territory,
Libra, at 7:28 PM.
While Venus does favor being
positioned in Libra, her trek through the sign doesn't come without
challenge. She will meet harshly with all that resides in Capricorn.
Plus, she will also enter her retrograde shadow on September 3. She
officially turns retrograde at 10 Scorpio on October 5. She reverts
to direct status at 25 degrees Libra on 11/16. Then, exits her
retrograde shadow on December 18.
At the exact same time that
Venus enters Libra, the Sun finds Jupiter in Scorpio by square (the
big reveal part 1). Now, this waxes in all day. So, there may be some
big floating heads out there to deal with. Make sure one of them
isn't you. Some folks are going to respond to this with grandiosity,
fear, shouting...temper tantrums. All that fun stuff. Plus, I have a
feeling some “truth” is going to funnel its way into the
collective sphere and there are folks out there that really don't
want us to have these nuggets of valuable information since..to
them..it equates to some really unsavory skeletons falling out of the
closet.
Either way, folks are likely
going to “show” themselves for better or worse under today's sky.
Doesn't mean you gotta get overly wrapped up in it. Just take note of
what you see and when folks flat out tell or show you who you they
are, believe them. Do know under Moon in Gemini, tongues will likely
be wagging. There is going to be PLENTY to talk about this week on
the whole. Promise.
Today is a good day to keep
your ego on a tight leash. Seek to remain grounded and steer the
Jupiter energy toward generosity, good humor, kindness with focus on
your goals and proper exertions of personal power. Maybe keep some
popcorn on hand for the skeletons out of the closet thing.
At 10:23 PM, the Moon makes
an amicable sextile with the Sun in Leo (and an inconjunct to
Jupiter) before finding Neptune by square at midnight.
Tuesday, August 7, 2018
The Moon meets her current
ruler, Mercury Rx, by sextile at 3:55 AM. Following the Moon's square
with Neptune, this aspect is likely to bring up relevant information
in the dreamworld. In the very least, it offers us a chance to
discern the best way to put our feelings into words or to express
them via personal creative efforts. The Moon is Void following this
aspect. She wakes up in Cancer at midnight, tonight.
However, at 8:26 AM, Uranus
stations retrograde in Taurus. I heard gears grinding to a halt with
that. So, there will likely be some frustrating hiccups that
accompany this. To me, Uranus stationing to retrograde is a lot like
Mercury stationing to do the same. Weather, travel, communications
(particularly those that deal with advanced technology such as the
internet) get wonky, electrical systems do weird things...all that,
until Uranus settles in his backward motion. So, go into this day
with a big dose of patience and expect that some things are likely
not going to go as originally planned.
Following Uranus' station,
there really isn't much happening in the sky during the meat of the
day. The Moon is Void which will help us deal with whatever the
Uranus station throws at us more easily. Then, at 8:33 PM, Venus
meets Mars Rx in Aquarius by trine. It's nice to see these two on the
same page for once. But, even though comfortable, there isn't a whole
lot that's likely to be produced here except an alignment of desire
and motivation.
Once the Moon clicks on in
Cancer, she goes on to create a cardinal t-square with Venus and
Chiron and Aries. The outlet is for that “kick in the gut” falls
in Capricorn. Keep your eye on your goal and remain
grounded/accountable. At 4:12 AM, she is sextile Uranus newly Rx in
Taurus...which may rustle some of us out of bed before daylight.
Still, a few minutes before sunrise on the East Coast we find her
under pressure from an opposition to Saturn (5:15 AM).
The opposition to Saturn can
start the day off tomorrow on a very heavy and dour note. The best
way to manage that appropriately is to boundary up and hold yourself
sternly to climbing your own ladder.
With a Void Moon all day,
basically, today is good for putting finishing touches on ongoing
projects. Resting. Floating. Definitely not great for kicking off
anything new. Take it slow and easy. Enjoy the low tide.
Wednesday, August 8, 2018
Well, today is not Moonless.
But, it's not the lunar positions that are getting all the press.
Nope, that's going to deal more with the fact that Venus officially
opposes Chiron at 4:40 PM at nearly 2 degrees of their respective
signs. Plus, the Sun and Mercury finding each other by conjunction as
both wax into an inconjunct with Neptune Rx. This is the second leg
of the “Big reveal” that I spoke of in the overview. Veils will
likely drop as information trickles out into the collective from this
Sun/Mercury conjunction. And, the same is likely to be encountered in
the sphere of our personal lives.
So, there is a lot on our
brains as we head to bed tonight. Yet the Moon is due to make a
lovely grand water trine between 11:44 PM (trine Jupiter) and 1:42 AM
(trine Neptune) which can help us slip into dream and temporarily
help us “forgeddaboutit” in an effort to rest. Though...we are
likely sternly reminded of it as we awaken under the dark veil of the
Moon in opposition to Pluto in the morning (7:21 AM). Tomorrow
doesn't hold “treats” or “comfort” in it at all for the most
part. So, snuggle in and get some rest so that you will be able to
deal with that from a well-grounded position.
Thursday, August 9, 2018
It's always darkest before
the dawn. Or, at least that's what I've heard. Today brings full
illustration to that point. First, as we wake up the Moon is staring
down an opposition with Pluto. That casts a dark veil over the day.
However, it also creates a loose kite with the Water trine
(Neptune/Jupiter) and pushes the Moon over into Void status where she
will remain for the rest of the day. She doesn't enter the sign of
Leo until after midnight tonight.
However, we will have two
inconjuncts criss-cross one another. Venus meets Uranus Rx by
inconjunct just after the Moon falls Void. Mercury Rx is officially
inconjunct Neptune Rx in Pisces at 5:29 PM. And...Venus meets with
Saturn in Capricorn by square at 9:34 PM.
The early morning opposition
to Pluto from the Moon looks “hungry” to me. The problem with
that being...the aspects Venus makes causes it to look like tangible
resource could be in short supply. We have been weighed. We have been
measured. And, some of us are likely to be found “lacking” or
“wanting.” Let me tell you something. This is not what I would a
call a “happy” day. It's heavy. The Moon goes out on a really
dark note and Venus is in a very uncomfortable position. The best way
to deal with that is to just muddle through, realize it will pass and
(since Venus is passing through there anyway) put the Saturn/Uranus
trine to work for you. Improvise and “make do” with what you do
have on hand. Most of all, be extremely easy with yourself while
taking the time to notice what IS present instead of giving all your
attention over to what could be missing.
After the Moon clicks over
into Leo, the “day” doesn't improve either. She starts ruffling
feathers right out of the gate with an opposition to Mars Rx at the
genesis of Aquarius at 1:13 AM. Then, by 4:22 AM she is unsettled
once again with an uncomfortable square to Uranus in Taurus. Ick.
Easy does it out there guys. The lead in to the final eclipse of the
summer looks to be rather...interesting. Not that the whole of this
freaking summer hasn't been.
Man, seriously, I've seen
some crazy stuff go down during these eclipses. Switchbacks and
U-turns that nobody has expected but on some level seemed as if they
were a “long time coming” at the same time. I've seen
relationships break up and come back together. Folks leave jobs to go
off on new ventures and then come back to the job they originally
left. Folks leave an “all clear” diagnosis only to receive
impending fatality notices shortly after. I've even witnessed a few
miracles...folks long single finding their “ideal mate” and some
just barely getting ready to walk across the threshold of a new life
that might just hold the promise of everything they ever dreamed of.
And, of course, there have also been major losses such as losing
folks you may have loved for a very long time. But, I have also
noticed that you were able to sheer away the collective distraction,
deal with your own emotions and focus in on your long term goals,
progress can and has been made. But...yeah...ever since that Full
Moon in Scorpio last spring, things started getting a little hairier
and heavier on a collective level.
As we march our way to the
last eclipse of the year, the Moon grows extremely dark (even if
unsettled out of the gate). It's a time for reflection and an
opportunity to take really come to terms with the changes that have
been made in your life over the past year. Dump off any extra or
non-essential luggage at the curb in this time. We are going to want
to enter this New Moon prepared to travel lightly. A lot of what has
occurred this week is positioning us to do just that.
Friday, August 10, 2018
Following a potentially
unsettled and uncomfortable night, the Moon finds Venus in Libra by
sextile just before dawn. She goes on to meet the North Node by
conjunction at 9:42 AM at about 6 degrees of Leo. The Sabian symbol
for that conjunction reads as follows: An old fashioned belle and a
modern flapper admire one another. This is not only recognizing and
appreciating the differences found in others. It is also recongizing
and coming to appreciate both old and more modern versions of
ourselves. Plus, with the Moon making amicable relations with Venus,
it's also a good time to call upon our friends.
At 11:46 PM, the Moon is
square Jupiter in Scorpio just before meeting Mercury Rx by
conjunction at 11:55 PM. Listen. If you have something in your life
that is unsavory to you and you want to get the thing out of your
energy field...tonight is the night to do the purging ritual for it.
You can use this for severing ties to negative and potentially
repetitive cycles in your life. Only thing about that being..you have
to recognize what those patterns are and begin to assimilate their
lessons.
At 2:31 AM, Mercury
officially squares Jupiter (again)...another chapter of the “Big
Reveal” is released unto the collective. And, the brain is likely
spinning in all that as we attempt to go to sleep tonight.
Then, just before dawn on
the East Coast (5:58 AM), our Partial Solar Eclipse New Moon in Leo
cracks open with the Moon falling Void immediately after.
This occurs as both the Sun
and Moon are headed toward 19 Leo and holds them both at the tip of a
yod between Pluto and Neptune. This is where the “Big Reveal”
takes place in our personal lives. The truth of ourselves and all the
things that fed into building that is shown to us. We are given an
opportunity to recognize and accept that. While also being given an
opportunity to step forward in a new direction if we so choose.
or...did you?
The Sabian symbol for the
New Moon reads as follows: A houseboat party. Blain Bovee slates the
theme as “congenial.” He describes it as floating right along in
celebration...with no particular destination. Then states, “On a
spiritual practice level, felt convictions can lead to creative
bonding with higher energies and expansive peaceful experiences.”
So, pay attention to your “convictions” under this New Moon and
bond with the higher energies of the day for expansive and peaceful
experiences. Which is easier to do if you have already dumped any
excessive or smelly personal garbage off at the curb.

Hey look! It's the weekend!
We started off early this morning with the eclipse. Then, as the Sun
rises, the Moon falls Void until entering Virgo at about noon. So,
we've time to catch up on rest if the last few days may have robbed
us of that.
After her entrance into
Virgo, the Moon doesn't make any major aspects. However, she does
light up a Yod with Mars and Chiron between midnight and 3 AM.
Something in the Mars sphere is sick or debilitated. There is no
better Moon to figure out a fix for it. The rest of the sky will
support her in that.
Between 4 and 5 AM, the Moon
creates a beautiful Earth trine with Saturn and Uranus. This is
common sense, self direction, practicality and goal oriented
wonderfulness. Seriously!
If Humpty Dumpty were to
fall off his wall today, we'd be given just the energy we need to
figure out how to put him back together again. So, use this energy
toward fixing whatever “Humpty Dumpty” may have broken in your
life.
Other than the glorious
Earth trine, there isn't much to note about this day...oh...other
than the eclipse that kick started it. Our guide under this eclipse
(and moving forward for the next two weeks) is The High Priestess.
Lol...ah...and the plot thickens..no? I will be writing more about it
this week.
Sunday, August 12, 2018
Sunday looks rather well
settled, too. The Moon is still active in Virgo but makes no major
aspect during the day. However, Venus does make a nice sextile to the
North Node enticing us to lovingly carry our new self forward.
AND...AND!!! Tonight, Mars will retrograde back into the sign of
Capricorn. We can actually grab a little traction instead of spinning
in our heads over what to do next.
At midnight, the Moon makes
a nice (but piercingly sharp) sextile to Jupiter in Scorpio. By 1:26
AM she is opposed Neptune and, likely, washing us out and into a deep
sleep.
In the morning, we will
refocus with a lunar trine to Pluto at 7:12 AM
Use today to get down and
dirty in your own business. Get good and grounded in your sense of
self with your feet planted firmly underneath you and an eye on your
long term goals. Though the effects of all three of these just past
eclipses will continue to bear effect for quite some time (as we
assimilate to all the changes)..we are walking away from them now.
Today is the perfect for just honoring yourself for surviving all
that.
