Full Moon in Pisces 2018: Time out!

Sabian Symbol for the Moon in Pisces: Heavy traffic on a narrow isthmus.
This symbol indicates a funneling and a focus. The symbol itself seems to relate to the fact that Venus and Mercury are both in aspect to Pluto. We begin to see more clearly what is truly important to us. As we focus in on that sheering away all else in an effort to get to it, know that there is something to learn from that as well. Why are we drawn to this? Why is it rising in importance?
The funneling can come from a gathering of forces to a common cause. Focus comes into play when we choose one direction out of many options. That's what this symbol indicates.

Sabian Symbol for the Sun in Virgo: A chocolate child plays with whites.
I don't like how this symbol is worded even if it has been reworded since the original. Here's what I see with it. We have children of different races and backgrounds playing together. It is an illustration of the fact that we are not born with -isms (Bias). That is implanted or conditioned in us during upbringing. It's an element of fear. TAUGHT fear in an effort to control...likely the person being conditioned but also built to control those the bias is against. But you know what? To those kids playing? There is no chocolate child and white child. There are only other children and unless it has been taught to them to think of someone with a different skin color as something to be rejected and/or feared they aren't going to notice much. If they do, they will ask questions innocently but it will be no different to them than noticing that someone has a red hair when their own hair is brown.
In a way, this is a challenge to return to that type of innocence and...literal fearlessness...of how we looked at the world before the world decided to tell us how we should look at it. Those who are slain by -isms wreak with fear.

Sabian for the Moon's ruler, Neptune Rx, headed toward 15 Pisces: An officer prepares to drill his men.
In the original Sabian, it's stated an “unkempt” officer. Either way, we are preparing here and notice for such may come at the last minute. But, even on the most peaceful of days, officers are challenged to be at the ready as well as their underlings. In our rest, we should likely unofficially “drill” ourselves for what is to come. We are protected in sanctuary but the time will come in which will have to rise from that and we should be fully mentally and physically prepared for what that may mean. This Moon is nothing but a gift of reprieve. A rest to recalibrate and gather ourselves from the battles of the past year. And, there have been many of us with rather difficult personal rows to hoe in that time period. We've tried. We've failed. Progress has been reserved for those who are naturally inclined with retrogrades and debilitated Mars. Personally, I've found that while things slow down during a massive set of retrogrades, it benefits me to push the throttle. Which is NOT what we are told but I live with a whole chart in debilitation or detriment. Retrogrades, in essence, level the playing field for folks like me. So, some have progressed while others may be slain with what feels like flailing attempts. That dynamic of “flailing” attempts are par for the course for a debilitated Mars, though. Yet, it is in failure where the richest of lessons about what is “worth it” and what is not; what is effective and what is not; what we are realistically capable of and what is not...can be found. So, at this “rest stop” we consider all that in our rest and safety as a big portion of the sky prepares to turn again. Mars on the 27th. Saturn on 9/6! Then, Venus batting clean up.

Kite! Kite! Kite!

Kites are absolutely a lovely aspect to have. See, a trine is beautiful. But, often when found in any chart they are so relaxed and easy there isn't much that really comes from them. They can be a talent unrealized because that talent is never challenged or even noticed. However, a kite is formed when there is a grand trine and one of the planets involved in that grand trine is catching an opposition. For Grand Trines in Earth, these Kite's always form with an opposition from a Water sign. For Grand trines in Water, the opposition always comes from Earth. Then, the same occurs with Fire trines and an opposition in Air. Air trines with oppositions in Fire.
What the oppositional planet does is create friction or circumstance that helps to fully activate that Grand Trine and setting it's talents into motion. In this case, we have a lot of Earth that is given the benefit of Water. What that does is soften the Earth so that it can be reshaped, molded, sculpted and the water also helps to nourish what is planted in the soil.
Plus, Earth provides a channel or boundary for water to operate in. We have down to Earth practicality, goals, a sense of grounding and connection to the present in the trine. The water element adds flexibility, compassion, creativity and empathy. So, essentially what it allows us to do is to take the “soil” of present and shape into something else by use of the Water.
For the Earth trine, itself, we have the Sun in Virgo bringing an element of service to others, getting the facts straight, putting information to use and an inclination toward fixing what is broken while also sifting through fact versus fiction. Saturn in Capricorn offers us past personal experience to fall back on while Uranus in Taurus (whose long term goal is an evolution of what is considered of true value and a new definition of stability) gives us the impetus to craft new and yet practical long term solutions for issues that may have a history all of themselves. Saturn trine Uranus lets us script our own rules to a degree. To take what we know and apply it in new ways. To feel a sense of liberty in setting our own standards and boundaries. Yet, all this is rather dusty and immobile....until the water penetrates it causing it shift in shape. Get your hands in that sculpting it into your creative vision...manifest.

Venus in Libra square Pluto Rx in Capricorn: This isn't really a nice aspect. However, it will set us up for what we will experience during Venus' retrograde which is coming in soon! Pay attention to what it is calling out to you in terms of value and importance. You may find a semblance of it in your actual hands at this Full Moon or the New Moon in Virgo. If you do, prepare. You are about to learn the good, the bad and the ugly about that object of value or affection and be given the chance to re-evaluate it's worthiness. It's another nudge toward “Be careful what you wish for. Because you just might get it.”
If there is something that you feel wildly drawn to, obsessed with, consumed with...there is something more for you to look at here. What is driving you? What does the object of your obsession teach you about yourself?
It's also a time in which relationship ghosts have a tendency to burst out of the closet. Now this is not anything new. Retrogrades do this too. However, with Venus in square to Pluto the chances for that (along with the upcoming Venus retrograde) grows exponentially. Running into old lovers or reminders of the same is not necessarily a nudge to rekindle the past relationship. It's usually best used as a barometer to self-assess personal maturity levels and changes in what it is we think we want in a partner that have occurred since then. A review more than a renew. It does have wild attractive power though. So, only feed your attention to that which you want to grow. What you allow your praise, attention to linger on will be in very fertile ground. Want your debt to grow? Keep feeding it. Want your sense of lack to grow? Keep feeding it with your worry what have you. When you pay attention or pay homage to something, it's like spending currency. Be a wary buyer and wise, informed spender under this aspect.

Mercury inconjunct Neptune and square Jupiter (creates a loose Yod with Pluto in Capricorn): This is kind of a sneaky aspect but definitely relative. What we have is Mercury making a third pass in aspect to these three big players. It's highly likely that themes of the recent Mercury retrograde and his previous passes in aspect to these big guys will repeat, become congealed, resolved and perhaps begin to make a little more sense. Either way, it places how you think and how you express yourself fairly important. We have all been through a period of personal reflection and subsequent chaos as of late with the retrogrades and eclipses. Much of what was thematic at the eclipses of last Summer are still relevant but in different light following the eclipses of last summer. If you set forth initiatives at the Great Big American Eclipse last year, chances are you are surely seeing developments in that area now for better or worse. What's key in that is noting what you've learned about yourself. Noting if there are any areas you deemed worthy of refining. And, any steps you have made to make positive changes in your life with intention. Assessing if those steps were effective plus adding to that any knowledge you have acquired about what it is that motivates you, triggers you, makes you burn. Mars turns direct the day after this Full Moon. So, the information you've gleaned from his retrograde is very applicable. What did you try and fail at? What was important enough to you to give it another go or keep at it? And...why? These are all important things to contemplate under this Moon while bearing in mind what influence your generational mix has had upon your line of thinking. We have been through a passage that opened a door to the intricacies of ourselves. What did you learn?

4 of Swords

All fours denote stability. Coming in as advice, the 4 of Swords suggests bringing stability to the mind. By way of rest and retreat not unlike the metaphorical “warriors” retreat that you often see depicted in films. Before Batman was Batman, he retreated to learn technique. That's just one example. Such a retreat can be found in just about any Warrior's tale. There is a period of withdraw and sanctuary. That's what this card suggests.
Mars in station causes a feeling of being “stalled” in some way. Use the stall productively but in a passive way. Meaning, gather your forces together to prepare, protect, rest and restore before we pick up our sword to fight another day.

Full Moon's are known to coincide with “revelations.” I see this one no differently. With Mercury making a third powerful pass to Jupiter and at his tip of a Yod between Neptune/Pluto...that point becomes even more relevant. Our planet of communication and the mind is not out of shadow yet. There are still details and nuance to reconsider before we go off into new “war” or step into a continuation of older one. To put it simply, shut your mouth and get your brain straight. Rest your body and seek sanctuary. Bring focus inward and prepare. Run through the metaphorical “drills” in your head and make contingency plans. That's what this card is suggesting we do. It is likely to feel quiet. At times as if the air has been sucked out of the room....that's your cue to mobilize which is another inclination of just about everything to do with this Moon
