Morning Star: Astrology for the week of May 14 to May 20, 2018

Monday, May 14, 2018

Are you ready for this week? Sure you are. As ready as you'll ever get because here it is. What I see taking an overview of the week here as thematic is folks getting fed up. It's too much. Something has to change. I'm tired of this. I can't take it anymore. If you don't get to a point like that in some area of your life within the confines of this week you are among the lucky few.
And, this need not be a bad thing. You know? Sometimes things NEED to change with those changes ultimately help us to sculpt out a better life for ourselves. Yet, regardless of our incentive for change, it can still be quite scary. The unknown variables can be daunting. The release of comfort momentarily could seem unsavory. Complacency and a lack of initiative can staple us into drudgery rather quickly.
But. When the discomfort of how things have become grows more unbearable than the discomfort of change, we will often take it upon ourselves to change things. We will likely see a lot of that in this week.

If it's too heavy, folks will put it down and walk away from it. Some more quietly than others. I expect that “enough” will be declared in many different ways and things that have needed to change for a very long time will stop working..forcing us to pay attention to the need for change. Making us uncomfortable until we cannot stand to do anything except SOMETHING. As above, so below. This will also likely echo through the natural world. Recent Earth rumblings serve as prelude to this potential.
Today, the Moon is firmly in Taurus. Before dawn, she is trine Saturn in Capricorn. Practical. Down to earth. Aligned with her goals with good boundaries. It's solid and mature.
As the day moves forward, the Moon relaxes just a bit with a nice sextile to Neptune at 5:44 PM. Kind of late for a nap, but the days are quite a bit longer. Perhaps a brief snooze in the Sun before dinner, would be nice. Or, some wind to help relax at the end of a Monday isn't bad way to go either.
This is the dark of the dark Moon. The sextile to Neptune helps to offset some of the heavy that can come with the drawing forth of the dark moon. Allow yourself to relax and sink into leisure this evening if you can.

By 8:09 PM and especially if we went against our call to relax and ended up putting more luggage on our backs instead, tolerance levels are lowered again. The Moon opposes Jupiter in Scorpio at 8:09 PM and things either feel really, really good or really, really horrible. Jupiter expands how it is we feel indiscriminately and THIS Jupiter, likes to pull our shadow out and play with it while he also blows stuff all of proportion. How this goes is likely quite dependent on your choices earlier in the day. If you relaxed when you felt like it and honored your need for the same, you are probably purring like a kitten by the time the Sun sets. But, if you forsake yourself, by the end of the night? You are going to feel possibly resentful, forsaken and really left out.
The Moon trines Pluto at 2 AM which can help our resolve if we are still trying to keep a stiff upper lip while we are holding up the world. But it will also help us restore and reset emotionally helping us open sober and sturdy eyes in our morning.

This morning our New Moon in Taurus cracks open introducing us to the passage of Uranus from Aries and into Taurus. A whole new world. A brand new day. Perhaps some new topography. It'll be fun. But, in sincerity, usually when Uranus shifts he does make a lot of noise. His entrances and exits are not subtle. That's the way he is. For more about the New Moon, itself, you can go here.

After the “breaking” open of the New Moon in Taurus, the Moon remains active. At 11:23 AM, Uranus thunders into Taurus. The Moon swings in trine to Mars in Capricorn before reaching Void status at 4:31 PM. She remains Void for less than 15 minutes as she enters Gemini at 4:44 PM.
The “Air” coming from Gemini helps to offset any heaviness. The Moon's first aspect being a minor one to Uranus in Taurus a minute past her entrance into the sign. Her second is a sextile to Chiron in Aries at 7 PM.
But, it all feels....almost deafening quiet this evening to me. At midnight, Mars enters Aquarius. He is still in retrograde shadow so keeping our actions deliberate and mindful remain key. We may have some do overs in our near future. And, remaining “conscious and mindful” of our actions is of extra importance anyway because at 3:05 AM, Mars in Aquarius squares Uranus in Taurus. Someone or many ones, could be rocked out of their beds tonight. Or out of their comfort zones. Rudely and unexpectedly.
But the same energy that catalyzed the “shake up” is precisely the same energy you need in order to deal with the situation. Mars/Uranus is precision. The skilled hand of a surgeon backed with expertise and a “cool under stress” demeanor. And that's the key...to stay frosty. Cool. Precise. Quick. Sharp...but mindful. On point with reactions and engagements. The main keys with Mars in Aquarius is to stay calm. Never let them see you sweat. Don't get too excited. Work smarter not harder. Use your anger intelligently.

I'll just flat out tell you that Taurus is not that skilled with this on the most part. Sudden change? Being startled? And, you get a bull in a china shop or a stampede...just a lot of running and destruction without conscious thought when things happen too suddenly. But, what Uranus in Taurus will do will either lead us into being Zen and Tall Cool Cows or Mad and Destructive Cows...all depending on how well we can each handle rolling with and responding to changes.
Tonight is likely an unsettled night for sleep. To help yourself you can begin “stepping down” from the day early. Limit the amount of stimulation you take in by way of diet and the brain through the day. Stay grounded and well in touch with yourself while leaving plenty of room for physical activity too. Mars/Uranus doesn't sit still well. The energy backs up becomes restless, reckless and anxious. Find healthy ways to take the top off that for best results. I don't suggest you bury your anger. Find a way to express yourself that is beneficial to you. There are such things as controlled fires and explosions..speaking in the way of metaphor, of course...that can break up stagnant situations or blockages you already know exist. Just keep it all in check.

Minor aspect colors in the day with our Moon in Gemini. Talking about how we feel helps. We want to keep things light but by 7:17 PM, our butterfly wings are wet. The Moon squares Neptune which for a Moon in Gemini can be like a real wet blanket. This can bring tears. Fatigue. Over-sensitivity. A desire to be just left alone or a feeling of being isolated or shut out.

Taking a time out to deal with yourself is the way to go here too. Time to indulge in music, fiction, art. Quiet on purpose alone time. Time for rest...a readiness to recapture what might have been missed under the restlessness of recent energies. Either way, we melt in the emotional system here. The only other planets that the Moon will bump directly off of during her the rest of her trek through Gemini will be Venus tomorrow evening. Between now and then her subtle brushes against the rest of the sky will color in personal nuance. Meaning, our own issues are likely more prominent to us right now than issues outside ourselves. Each little bump colors in a different part of the picture. May that be fear and shadow with Pluto, skewed or blown out of proportion perspective with Jupiter or repression and restriction with Saturn. All the details in a time of great personal sensitivity of what feels right and what feels wrong in our personal lives comes flitting into our awareness through this day. Again, making this a great deal to just deal with yourself. Some will use the chatty nature of Gemini in an attempt to avoid sitting with their own silence. Yet, it will find us all at some point, either way.

Today, we find incentive in making changes and remaining flexible. We can foster a sense of curiosity and excitement about the new instead of beating ourselves over the head with remorse about what no longer is.
The day starts breezily enough. And, then, just after midday, the Moon finds Venus. Is comforted. Makes a new friend. Finds someone with a common interest. Discovers something new and interesting. Sees a butterfly out of the corner of her eye and follows it.

Maybe, the butterfly follows the Moon home. She is Void following this conjunction until entering the sign of Cancer...just in time for dinner...at 5:48 PM. Shortly after, she sextiles Uranus in Taurus. Aren't you ready to be free of this anyway? Aren't you ready to feel alive and light again? Isn't it about time you let go and let your give a damn break a little? Look at all the new pretties you found today that you weren't expecting. Sometimes, deciding it's time for something to change is a good thing. We can take it slow. Take care and nurture ourselves through it. It can be done. And it can be better.

Wouldn't it be nice to have some easy common sense solutions for some really long standing issues right here on the home front? Well, guess what. Today is the day you just might find some. This morning the Moon sextiles Mercury in Taurus. Over breakfast, issues are discussed and solutions are found! Common sense answers fit best here. Practical. Grounded. That's the way to go. But, with this sky, definitely eat your breakfast first and give thanks to have had the meal in the first place. This is certainly a time in which we should be humble and service minded while also being grateful for what we have above and beyond yearning and eager for what we don't have. Notice what is right. Discuss issues seeking practical solutions.

We take the information delivered by Mercury in Taurus and apply it in a timely fashion as the Moon opposes Saturn at 7:34 AM. Now, this can feel heavy. But, if you plant your foot in doing the next right thing while being mature about it, it goes much more easily. A solid sense of accomplishment goes a really long way here. The practicality and groundedness of nature in this day continues as Mercury trines Saturn at 12:49.
we should all ask ourselves...why is it we all do not own one of these?
With a day of solid production behind us, by nightfall we are more than ready to unwind and the sky supports us in that. The Moon lights up a beautiful relaxing water trine between Neptune and Jupiter as she rises. The opposition with Pluto at 4:27 AM lights up a loose kite with this water trine. So, there is depth and likely dreams with psychological or symbolic insight tonight. There is that chance for power struggles, emotional manipulation efforts and even abuse and the rise of nightmares/fear here. But, a sixth sense to snoop these things out so that they may nipped in the bud is also present. Most, I feel, will rest rather well tonight.

Saturday, May 19, 2018

This morning at 9:11 AM, Venus enters the nurturing waters of Cancer. Her first stop is a sextile with Uranus in her own home territory of Taurus. Again, the incentive and reward for making positive changes in ones life are presented. Reward your own progress thus far. Look forward to what enticements may await you in the future for continuing this course.
By 5:15 PM, the Cancer Moon and Taurus Sun snuggle up for the evening. This is a day for a good home cooked meal. Relaxing. Gathering family (Cancer) and friends (Uranus) for a nice relaxing time or just making it all about you and your own spoiling.
It's quite relaxed and Venus feels right good in the sign of Cancer getting along nicely with all that resides in Taurus, as well. This day is pretty lush. Up to this point, at least. Following the sextile with the Sun, the Moon is Void until entering Leo at 7:11 PM. This is where the Mood changes.
I is 10 paws tall and bullet proof!
By 7:35 PM, the Leo Moon squares Uranus and the bolts of egos gone wild fly out of the framework. There is chance for childish meltdowns. Immature ploys that buck change. And, just down right abrasive behavior not mention sandpaper emotions within ourselves. Tolerance levels are low because it's been a pretty good day and what is this?
Stay the course, cool zen cow. Don't throw fire on the flames. Remember the simple answer. Grab the hose.

At 9:38 PM the Moon stands off with Mars in Aquarius which looks a whole lot like arguing with a teenager who, of course, knows everything. There is ambiguity here though. Do we do what everyone else is doing? Or do we decide to come up with our own methods? Something independent or unique? I'd suggest mixing a good dose of creativity and fun with the last option and going with that. The North Node is in “be true to you” Leo.

Sunday, May 20, 2018

Today the Moon is still in Leo and we are building our way toward a first quarter Moon quickly. Overnight, Mars in Aquarius met Chiron in Aries by sextile. We may have found some ways in which to ingeniously address our “limp” or personal handicap. Fostered a new idea about how to go about something.
Astro Trivia: The Six Million Dollar Man came out as Chiron last entered Aries and was a top running television series all the way through Chiron's transit of the sign.

But at 3:31 with a square to Mercury in Taurus, the Moon could feel like simple answers just aren't dramatic or entertaining enough. That's boring. Or I don't want to do that! There is a disconnect between ego driven motivations and practicality here. Yet, this need not be a big production. Plus, Venus waxes into square with Chiron at the same time. That feels like stepping between squabbling siblings or realizing your child's imperfections and loving them anyway. It's ouchy and a little heart sick. And someone's “wounded” actions could sincerely hurt your feelings here. Clumsiness. Unconscious acts by someone who was hurting and you just happened to be there. Be easy with yourself here. These are definitely days to “rise above” the potential drama.

relax you guys...it's butterfly season

Taurus season ends on that heartfelt note. The Sun enters the sign of Gemini tonight at 10:15 PM. The Moon moves on in Leo to square Jupiter in Scorpio. We are challenged once again to adjust perspective and not become overly full of ourselves. But, Jupiter can expand the good feels too. Try to get things pointed in that direction before this ever comes in. Following the square with Jupiter, the Moon is Void and gives us a break for almost a full 24 hours. Void at 11:30 PM today all the way until 10:03 PM tomorrow. Enjoy that. To have a Monday click by routinely is rare. I'll take it.
