Morning Star: Astrology for the week of May 7 to May 13, 2018

Overview:
This week emotional energy continues to wane. However, there are very grand happenings occurring in our sky. Two entities are making aspects right now that lead us into a preparatory stage for a new kind of awareness on a personal level. It is the movements of both Mercury and Venus that hold importance going into this week. We have Mercury in the sign of advancement, engagement, war and pioneering. He enters new territory this week having left his recent retrograde shadow. So, we will see an introduction of new information on some levels which is secondary in comparison to the deepening and devouring of information that is also due to come. We are ready to move forward. And...we will. But, some things we engage in in our near future are going to demand a do over. Mars enters his retrograde shadow. Chiron is also in the sign of initiation, war, advancement and Mars.
The deepening and focus/fixation comes as Mercury squares Pluto on Monday. This draws what is lingering in our brains to a fine point of focus. It's like we briefly inherit a tendency toward a one track mind.

Now. I think it is crucial to pay attention to what track it is that your mind keeps running toward or over. This is going to point you to matters inside that dynamic that can be transformed or upgraded to a new level. For example, say your brain is focusing on something. Fixated. Like, that's all you can think about. You push it away but in quiet still moments it keeps coming forward. The simple route to address that is to follow your obsession to quell whatever it is that you can't seem to let go of. But the higher expression has us riddling this obsession with why in a self-confrontational manner seeking the crevices of our own psyche for the thorn that is spurring this off. This gives us opportunity to then usurp the power this entity (this obsession, fear, thought loop) has been sucking from us by way of our obsession and then allows us to convert it into an energy that we can use instead. The highest expression denotes fearless self-inspection and curiosity with an undercurrent of a desire toward self-integration and advancement.
Now. Let's cap that off, shall we, with a square from Venus in Gemini to Neptune in Pisces. On top of the potential paranoia and fear that can come by way of Mercury/Pluto we have a waxing of emptiness, hollowness...that feeling of being cast out and alone...forgotten. As if our pleasures are just out of reach or we become disenchanted with things we once believed as valuable in our lives.

Venus and Mercury do not meet by sextile this week. However, in this week they are in orb of this and the two are seeming to work together here. Neptune is the higher octave of Venus. Uranus the higher octave of Mercury. What Venus/Mercury will do is create a flickering Yod with Jupiter in Scorpio through which the Sun/Jupiter opposition will shoot straight through like a drawn arrow.
With Venus in the sign of Gemini we are flittering about showing our appreciation for various schools of thought and falling back in love with the written/spoken word and knowledge in general. Meanwhile, though, Jupiter rewinds in the sign of Scorpio and the deepest stories that shaped us from the roots up are being revisited. As those stories are rewritten, Venus in her honoring of “knowing and sharing the knowing” becomes confused and disillusioned in square to Neptune. “It” wasn't what we thought it was.
Knowing is replaced by not knowing just as a super hyper-focused obsession with knowing waxes in under Mercury square Pluto at the same time. Whatever Mercury finds himself obsessing over is connected in some way to what it is Venus is becoming disenchanted with. We love to know and understand but at this moment we do not know and do not understand which makes the whole of the set up scary to humans. We like to know. For the most part. The uncertainty of the set up in the beginning of the week, tho, is confusing. Once we surrender to the not knowing and confront ourselves over the thought loop(s) we cannot seem to escape...then we are released. If we aim our sights at uncovering the truth (our own truth, that is) while surrendering to the fact that may be different from the truth we have accepted in the past (admitting we essentially know nothing in our current perspective) then...we are shot to a higher level of understanding and essentially set free. Liberated.
This is one of the resting spots where we individually make the decision to either move with the initiative of collective development (or evolution if you will) in some way or not. Moving forward and surrendering involves accepting new truths as well as unknown variables. It involves fostering a new mindset that bears consideration for the fact that the world is more integrated as a whole and no longer an entity that is divided into parts that cannot communicate directly with one other. We EACH have the power of choice as to whether to move forward to stay behind. Our ability to accept, be humbled by the unknown and change our perspective matched with a willingness to keep moving forward with a fearless sense of self-confrontation is what determines where each of us go from here.

At the end of the week...after the Sun is blurred by Neptune making personal identity malleable and reshapeable, after Mercury is slain with his own demons, after Venus is disillusioned, cast out and left without answers...Mercury meets Uranus by conjunction at the 29th degree of Aries before advancing into Taurus right ahead of his “higher octave.” The ground will continue to rumble echoing the telluric energies that are being released inside of us and rising up through us. Mercury advances to Taurus. Uranus advances to Taurus. Mars advances further into his shadow and enters Aquarius. Venus leaves the land of loving the brain and the pre-written knowing and enters the land of the intuitive...the unknowing the feminine creative and intuitive knowing in the sign of Cancer. It is from HERE not the sign of Gemini that she meets with Uranus by sextile at the genesis of each of their new signs. Uranus switching from the masculine energies of Aries into the feminine energies of Taurus denotes a certain switch for the next seven years. Uranus now in the sign of his fall is led into this new passage by his current ruler, Venus along with his underling Mercury...in her exaltation just as his former ruler Mars, begins to integrate and employ all the lessons the sign of Aries brought forth during the transit of Uranus while also showing us the the shadow operations that were part of that all at the same time. But, with Mercury and Venus leading the way, what we think is of “value” as Uranus enters Taurus is very important. What Uranus will do is increase our expertise about what is important, about what is safe and stable, about what is valuable and worthy.
It's a shift that we will not likely realize the importance of until we are looking at it through the rear view. It will be felt but few will have an explanation for it or understand why the shift has occurred. Quite simply, it's a just a checks and balance system that leads us now just as it has always led us. Into our future. In which we can choose to advance or be left behind. The Universe does not care. It's going to keep moving forward anyway. This is not the first movement in the sky to denote this. Nor will it be the last. But, this leg of the journey puts us on the preparatory route for that shift of Uranus into Taurus which we get an brief introduction to beginning 5/15.
Uranus barely sticks his toe into Taurus...just enough to rattle the Earth loose and spew some of her innards forward threatening to alter the topography of the map before he turns retrograde allowing us to incorporate that. But after this year's introduction, it's full steam ahead in the sign of Taurus for Uranus. Many will find themselves forced to make a decision of cling or move ahead because they are knocked right out of their previously known comfort zones. Of course, I've not even touched on the fact of Chiron in Aries which will make some of the more subservient Mars initiatives that have always worked in the past fall flat for a bit.

So, yeah..all that is what we are stepping into this week. But “in the moment” of these transits its likely to feel like one big confusing brain screw or, even, a major disappointment. Yet, when we look back on this time years from now we will view at as one of those “turning points” or pivotal moments in both our collective and individual histories. We are just too close to the screen to be able to see that right now.
Monday, May 7, 2018

We come into this day following yesterday's Sun/Neptune sextile which occurred shortly after the Moon was rendered Void. Monday holds the Moon in Aquarius which is actually a great lunar energy to have on tap when you consider what else is happening out there in the energetic world.
Before dawn, Mercury in Aries meets with Pluto by square at 4:49 AM. This is more than a serious case of the Monday dreads. The brain became super focused yesterday and there are thought patterns that are currently wearing deep crevices in our brains. But, Moon in Aquarius allows us to step back in observation of this instead of being wholly slain by it. We are allowed the luxury of emotional levity that allows us to kind of step aside from that which may be swampy (ie: Pluto and Neptune) in an effort to develop a more clear understanding instead of being completely sucked in.

The edges of that swamp expands as Venus finds Neptune by square at about 6 PM. This is where disappointment or allowing ones self to become overly enchanted by pretty facades and fake sentiments comes into play. Again. The Aquarius Moon can stand strong, cool and sober through this too watching what it is that rises to the surface of both our minds and hearts instead of being completely shattered with it. I'm not saying we won't be forced under water once the Moon hits Pisces. Matter of fact, that's likely. But, the Moon isn't in Pisces today now is it?
Nope.
Instead, the Moon moves forward with a trine to Venus in Gemini encouraging us to talk about “this” with our associates. To exchange information and oddities and heartbreaks. To air our grievances literally but also bent more toward logic than the ethereal type of witnessing and knowing that Venus in Gemini wants to sink in while in square to Neptune. The Moon and Venus try to bring logical explanation to the things they are feeling. And for a small amount of time, that may actually work.

At 10:09 PM, the Moon perfects in last quarter as the Sun in Taurus squares off with the Moon in Aquarius. This is the body of human against the emotions of a machine. We need logical and dry but we are knee deep in mud. We need the future. But, are strongly steeped in the grunge of right now.
This is not a taxing or stressful thing. Last Quarters mark a time of full emotional release and a severe drop in emotional energy. Here we become practical and attempt to resume our grasp upon common sense. We are willing to do to the work we have ahead of us in this moment but we really also need to keep a birds eye view of the future we intend on sculpting for ourselves while remaining humbly optimistic in regard to our abilities to do so.

Tuesday, May 8, 2018

This morning our brain sparkles as Mercury begins to sheer away the weight of Pluto. The Moon meets him by sextile just after daybreak. This offers a new type of lightness and is less encumbered than what we experienced under the heaviness of the Pluto. We are deciding to become free here.

Now, though, there is a different kind of heaviness that comes from the ego's desire to stay exactly where it is due an opposition from the Sun to Jupiter in Scorpio at 8:39 PM. Many will dig in their heels in resistance to acknowledging the excavation of brain and heart that has just occurred. And that will be an act of ego of standing strong in place refusing to budge. The higher expression? A willingness to grow. A willingness to rescript the stories of history with new, wiser and more aware of the truth eyes. A balancing against the power we feel that the world has over us and a humbling realization of the fact that each one of us still have a hand in building the world the we currently live in. Humbling. But, also empowering. How we respond to that is wholly dependent upon our willingness to grow which is an automatic acceptance of change and recognition of what we must surrender to because it is largely out of our control. Our control lies in our choices in regard to what response to what happens to us even though we cannot control, really, what circumstance may bring.
But, our ability to stand in resistance to this will quickly become dissipated. The soil washed from beneath our feet and our grip upon our stance starts slipping.
At 10:29 PM the Moon is re-inspired toward innovation and new free and independent kind of life by way of a sextile to Uranus at 10:29 PM. From here, the Moon is Void until entering Pisces at 11:11 PM. We will sincerely feel the “pull” of melt and surrender at that point. The solid ground we were standing on and clinging too...reverts to mud.

Wednesday, May 9, 2018

This best way we can go here is the route of acceptance and surrender. But. If you are a willful soul such as myself that is more difficult. There is internal struggle that comes along with even considering the concept of control. We can fight with that all we want under this Moon. But, as willful as I am, even I know that you cannot fist fight Neptune. We are due to melt and the truly strong amongst us will give in to that. Our struggle becoming only as long as we allow it become. We re-discover our ability to control by releasing our grasp on it in this day.
It's a largely subtle day overall that just introduces us to the premise of this melting. There is only one major aspect from the Moon but we do become increasingly aware that the old ways of doing things simply aren't working anymore as the Moon passes by Chiron in Aries by minor aspect in our early morning hours.
By early evening, we recapture some footing and direction by way of a sextile from the Moon to Saturn. Yet, underneath that sobering aspect Venus meets Jupiter by inconjunct and our cravings grow. What we want grows larger and more enticing. Use Saturn to hold you on to your goal without allowing the temptations of Venus to throw us off track. No short cuts. One step at a time to the goodies.
From here, the Moon creates a gut check with our nodal axis and moves on to make minor aspect from a sweet midpoint between Mercury and Uranus in Aries and Mars in Capricorn. In her position, she pulls Mars forward begging him to imbue his actions with compassion and a willingness toward softness, creativity and openness. Meanwhile, Mercury and Uranus move the Moon forward enchanting her with the wild visions of the future that both seem possible and oddly memorable at the same time. Pisces Moon's idea of “moving forward” is actually more like a coming home to her...to that elusive home that of ethereal heavenly love that she remembers so well but cannot seem to grasp in this physical world.

And all that shifts toward a dream. A vision. That comes about in our morning hours as the Moon sinks into a conjunction with Neptune.
The option to melt or let lose our grip on our current stance is taken from us at that point. There is no other choice but to surrender now as the sands shift continually under our feet. A simple way this can play out? We wake up still sleepy after a night of vivid dreams or wash out emotions...as if hungover and walking straight into a dreamscape. That mirage grows and becomes larger as tomorrow moves forward and the Moon waxes into linkage of Jupiter trine Neptune...before noon.

Thursday, May 10, 2018

It's a water-colored world out there today and the tide is due to keep rising from here. We begin this morning with the Moon trapped in a waxing trine between Neptune and Jupiter. Nothing seems certain. All seems confusing...most likely.

At about noon, we are a little seasick and gasping for air as the Moon makes an uncomfortable square with Venus in Gemini. Venus wants to flit about, talk about lightness and enjoy conversation. Moon in Pisces is overwhelmed by the influx of information/knowledge that is NOT spoken and would rather shut the external noise out...dismiss herself from chatter and light niceties and sink further into the depths of the void that are seemingly opening up to her now.
At about 2 PM, we are all quite limbered up and ready to relax in the confusion or at least shelter ourselves in familiar territory in an effort to escape it as the Sun and Moon meet by sextile. The fight just isn't in us today and it doesn't take long for that to effect our activities and how we engage with the world. I suggest going for the retreat. Nothing is or is meant to make logical sense in these days. The only control in this is consciously deciding to surrender to the flow. Otherwise, we are flailing and wearing ourselves out until we are driven to that same end anyway.

At 4:13 PM the Moon meets Pluto by sextile. Early day surrender and rest leads to restoration and refocus of the emotional body. Or, an unwillingness to surrender to that leads to deep issues of fatigue and possible acts of desperation as we seek to escape into our shadow. What happens there leads us directly into how we decide to tackle our tomorrow as the Moon then moves on to sextile Mars in his retrograde shadow in Capricorn at 5:03 AM. Following that sextile, the Moon is Void until entering Aries at 8:41 AM. As a result of all this, we will either decide to engage in our affairs in a different way or doom ourselves to going to incessant battle with brick walls clinging to our older methods that will continue to fail.

Friday, May 11, 2018

Speaking of running ones head continually into a block wall along with an over fascination of clinging to the status quo and the things that have always worked...the Sun in Taurus trines Pluto in Capricorn today. We are determined. Determination is not the problem. It's the method that needs to change.

The Moon enters Aries at about 9 AM and meets with a conjunction to Chiron at midday. We charge forth...and fail. We exert...and fall flat. We begin...and are stopped. And absolutely NONE of that is going to sit well with Sun/Pluto whose path of least resistance is DO OR DIE while we are under a warrior moon. Well. Thing is we are missing the fact that there are more options than what we are seeing. We can still do but we are being charged with pioneering new pathways instead of falling back into well worn ruts. We are better off forgetting the ruts. Uranus in Taurus is going to knock us out of them anyway.

We want to put our heads down and push through. We prone to do that. And, it's not that we shouldn't hold tight to that determination. All we have to realize is something about our approach needs to change. Something about what is motivating us needs to be recognized and made conscious. Something about the old ways just doesn't fit in the type of world we have collectively created anymore.
At midnight, the Moon squares off with Saturn and we could become crushed under the weight of our perceived defeat. It's sobering and harsh. Heads hit the pillow hard with heaves of depression and feelings of being ineffective. Inert. Unable.

However, overnight, that thing we want rises up again taunting us...”remember me?” as Venus in Gemini meets Pluto by inconjunct. Our initiatives may have failed. But, dammit. We still want this thing maybe more so now than we did before...so, now what? Well, most of us are going to get up in the morning, furrow our brows and give it another whack. Just like we did today. In the same old way with the same old methods. And, we shall “fail” again.

Saturday, May 12, 2018

Ah, this morning. Mercury in Aries finds Mars in Capricorn by square at 9:30 AM. We are motivated and minds are over ready to get moving. So, as I said...we rise being reminded of “what we want” overnight and are geared to get up and run after it as we wake this morning. Highly likely we will resort to our familiar and established ways of going about that and will fail...yet again.

Just in time for the Moon to get all paranoid in square to Pluto in Capricorn at 10:54 PM. Is it a failure? Or is it a redirection? How we perceive that is going to make a big difference in the long term. It is a redirection. And that fact will be more strongly illustrated as Mars moves deeper into shadow and even throughout his retrograde. None of that makes sense in the “now” of this, though.
Success is achieving the goal. If your method to get there doesn't work that doesn't mean you give up the goal. It merely means you change your method. But, in this moment of perceived failure...it's not going to seem so simple. Even though it is. We will be prone to place blame for this on everything outside of ourselves and be rather vehemently disgusted with the whole of it. But, when it comes home to roost, we will eventually realize that all we have to do is change both are methods and our perspective while creating a more fully developed picture of what is truly driving us...our motivations.

Our world has changed. It only makes sense that as a residual effect the ways in which we engage with it should also change. Right? Maybe write that down somewhere you will see it today.
Be careful out there today. We will be prone to matters of brain spin and attempting to move too far too quickly. We want to engage but it's not time to engage in new affairs. This is wrap up and wind down time. Deliberately vow to move methodically and aim your efforts toward a slow and manageable pace. Mercury square Mars can also cause things like headaches. With the Moon in Aries that potential rises even more. Plus, we feel rushed all that the same time. This isn't a race. There is no real deadline. We are not in a competition but we will likely feel the pressure as if it were all that today. Focus on the follow through. Inspiration is incoming that kick starts us into the “new” soon enough. At that time there won't be room to come back and finish up what we have in front of us today. Matter of fact, that “aha” moment is coming hard and fast into our tomorrow morning. The very catalyst that is going to help us birth a new line of thinking for ourselves, change the ways in which we think of moving forward and alter how we think of engaging.

Sunday, May 13, 2018

Our butterfly thoughts of what we think we want flittered through our dreams to entice once again last night. But, this morning, we wake up with a new idea. A new inspiration. A Eureka! Mercury meets Uranus in a jump up out of bed and seize the day kind of conjunction. This occurs at 30 degrees of Aries answering to the following Sabian Symbol: Young ducklings disport themselves merrily upon a pond. Essential social cooperativeness and appreciation of self-hood. Also a sense of inner restriction. Contendtedness.

Mercury conjunct Uranus occurs at nearly 7 AM. But, by 10 AM Mercury has moved into Taurus and the Moon moves forward to that 29th degree to take his place. Today is quite unsettled. Manic. A little unpredictable likely containing events that literally rattle the ground heralding Uranus' soon entrance into the sign of Taurus. And, the Moon isn't alone. She is square Mars in Capricorn when she finds Uranus linking Mars' square to Uranus up early. We can find freedom. We can find liberation. We can find illumination. But, it's going to feel like the bolts finally are really flying out of the machinery. Be very mindful and consciously engaged in what you are doing in this day. Say bye bye to over-stimulating things such as caffeine, sugar and electronic mental stimulation. You won't need it anyway. Ground. And Ground some more. Learn to breathe through the adrenaline so you can consciously decide how to act. But, know the ground under feet may actually shake today. Triage it as it comes. Don't expect anything to go as you prettily and well intentioned planned it to go in this day.

The Moon squares Mars and finds Uranus by conjunction between midday and 2 pm. Following that...explosion...the Moon is rendered Void until settling her darkening self down in Taurus at 2:16 pm. She finds Mercury by conjunction soon after. We are able to bring some common sense and practicality to the equation at that time. We kind of need to survive the morning in order to get to that place, though.
Overnight, the Moon will ground more and re-stabilize. We will be on better footing by Monday. But, still not ready to jaunt off into new areas just yet. There is more clean up to do as we work our way toward the New Moon in Taurus and even more yet to introduce in the way of “shake ups” as Uranus enters Taurus and knocks the game table over shortly after the commencement of that Moon cycle. Gear Monday toward wrapping as much up as you can. Uranus is getting ready to throw a monkey wrench into the development of our plans as early as Tuesday. Prepare to be unprepared. I'm laughing as I type that...but, few will find it funny. Uranus will push us each out of our comfort zones when he enters Taurus. Ever tried to get comfortable enough to sleep in a lumpy lopsided bed with no pillow while wearing a wool suit and you are hungry to boot? Because, yeah...it's like that.
