Morning Star: Astrology for the week of April 30 to May 6, 2018

Overview

I told you last week was gonna be big. It did turn out that way with some of that saga set to continue. However, don't expect this week to be as action or as pressure filled. I, for one, am grateful for that. Many are in need of simply recovering from the ramping up and subsequent release of last weeks energy and happenings. This week? Much more subtle...which in my opinion is a good thing.

What we are moving into at the end of this week is a sextile between our Sun in Taurus and Neptune in Pisces (5/6). Plus, Mercury will square off with Pluto. In the beginning of the week, Venus in Gemini creates a Yod by way of a sextile to our North Node in Leo as both form an inconjunct to Saturn. This puts Saturn Rx at the Apex of that Yod which flickers between the evening of 5/1 to the evening of 5/2. Like last weeks' Mercury/NN trine, this is a very subtle movement. What it allows us to do is decide what it is we want in our future. The Full Moon lit up a brief Yod with her sextile to Saturn reversing our current set up so that Venus was at the Apex. Showing us our options. Showing what made holding ourselves accountable worth it. Enticing us to keep moving forward. With that changing to place Saturn at the Apex, what we do is work the Venus/NN sextile to discover what it is we want while allowing Saturn Rx to begin laying out the steps for us. This is also about discovering your enticement toward change. Metaphorically, we are planning the future decorations of our life.
You can ask yourself where you want to be in X amount of years. Sure. This will help you discover the first steps to take in an effort to get there. But, uncovering why you want to be in the spot...what entices you toward that end..will keep you motivated when you meet with difficulty and challenge in getting there.

Lunar aspects color in the nuance of our week but other than that, there are no major movements with our major bodies in the sky. At the end of the week, as I mentioned, we will have the Sun/Neptune sextile as Mercury also works his way into square with Pluto on the morning of 5/7. Venus also squares Neptune next Monday. But all that happens at the end of this, ok? This week, we have a chance to kind of recover and get our feet underneath us while continuing to release and absolve this passing lunar phase.

Monday, April 30, 2018

This morning, the Moon in Scorpio is a bit sedate and blurry eyed as she trines Neptune in Pisces at 8:32 AM. It's a sleepy, foggy and subdued Monday morning. We need a day off to recover from the weekend? Maybe? Or, perhaps the big fat Moon shining in our windows last night kept us awake and we are just tired from that this morning. Either way this is not a crash and bang beginning to our week.
We lumber around as the fog begins to dissipate and the morning grows longer.
At 3:12 PM the Moon meets Jupiter by conjunction helping the emotional system rejuvenate a little. That energy is again boosted by a sextile to Pluto at 6:44 PM giving us more focus and resolve. The emotional body and the physical body meet amicably by sextile at 10:57 PM allowing us to recover on both those levels and imbuing us with determination and a feeling of having our feet firmly back on the ground and ready, once again, to move forward with our plans.

And, that's it. April ends. The Moon is rendered Void following the sextile with Mars and remains so until entering the sign of Sagittarius tomorrow morning at 11:20 AM.
Rest and recover my pretties. Take it easy on yourself and ease slowly and patiently into this morning. We start lifting by midday, By tonight, we are much more settled than we were moving into last weekend's Full Moon.

Tuesday, May 1, 2018

The Moon is Void in Scorpio this morning until she enters Sagittarius at 11:20 AM. A void Scorpio Moon can feel heavy but the weight of that will dissipate once she awakens in Sagittarius helping us to feel a bit lighter and more active.
At 12:44 PM she is trine Chiron in Aries. This is the only major aspect she makes within this day. The bigger news...though no less subtle...comes from Venus perfecting in her inconjunct to Saturn at 10:24 PM. There is no other Moon that would be ready to move forward into the future than this one. So, we set our perspective on the future..or begin to in this day. While Venus tightens in this Yod with Saturn and the North Node, all we have to do is decide what we want and contemplate our plans forward to get it. All we have to do is figure out the first step on our staircase. After we are through building that one, we can move on to the next. But, for now, just the first one is all we need be concerned with.

The energy wrapped within this day allows us to bring focus to this without much distraction. What do you want? What are the first steps you need to take in order to get it? That's all we are doing here.

Wednesday, May 2, 2018

This morning, the Moon in Sagittarius shoots right through the middle of the Venus/NN/Saturn Yod as she opposes Venus at 5:21 AM. Oppositions between the Moon and Venus can cause a stand off between what we need and what we want. It can be uncomfortable. However, the polarity between the signs of Sagittarius and Gemini is not horrible. What we are doing is looking at our current bank of wisdom and deciding what it is we need to learn in an effort to get to that future that holds what we want. What we know versus what we need or want to know. Both the Moon and Venus are interested in learning. So, even if this may not be entirely comfortable...that much of it is fleeting. This can be likened to choosing your classes at the beginning of a school year. Not a big deal. Worst thing being? You can't really cram them all into one semester. But, you can narrow it down to the ones you would like to take first and go from there.

Venus officially sextiles the North node at 3:41 PM. Shortly after, the Moon finds Mercury by trine at 5:58 while squaring Neptune just a few minutes later (6:10 PM). Now, those are two very different energies mixing together right there. Moon trine Mercury is quite prone to talk about future plans and ideas about moving forward. But, Moon/Neptune? Sleepy. Foggy. Potentially isolated and sensitive just wanting things to be quiet. You can choose between the two. If you feel like talking find someone in the same mood. If you don't, retreat, relax and shelter yourself. There is a chance with Moon/Neptune for things to be tearful or emotional...we really just need to check in with ourselves briefly to decide what it is that feels good to us in this mix. Then, go with that. Many will likely turn in a bit earlier tonight than typical due this Moon/Neptune square. Nothing wrong with that. We are still recovering. This is part of that.

Thursday, May 3, 2018

The day is mostly filled with minor and subtle aspect from the Moon today. By semi-sextile she meets with Jupiter, Mars and Pluto in our AM hours. Beginning at midnight and extending into our midday. Subtle and just bringing the emotional body into the waning connection between these three planets.

At 8:50 PM, the Moon is lightened, brightened and inspired by a trine to Uranus. This is uplifting and not forceful. It helps us look forward to what types of new freedoms we will have in our future once our plans are firmly in place. She is Void following this aspect, until entering Capricorn at 10:06 PM. This shifts our focus from dreams of the future and places it upon the work we have ahead of us right in the present moment. We will be ready to roll our sleeves up and get at it in the morning.

Friday, May 4, 2018

Ok. This is where a little of the pressure returns. Now, it's not like what we had at the Full Moon, ok? The Moon wanes now so emotional energy is dropping not raising like last weekend. No need to panic..alright? But, what we have is a Moon in Capricorn that is going to bounce off everything else in Capricorn and also touch on the rest of the sky too.

What happens today is a re-ignition of the waning Venus/NN sextile putting the Moon at the tip of that Apex as she passes over Saturn and hen completes in the inconjunct to Venus. This takes place between 4:02 PM (Moon conjunct Saturn) and 11:38 PM. OK? Again. This is subtle and involves a lot in the internal sphere more than it has to do with external events. We are getting our future plans and what we want as far as “decoration” in that future integrated into our emotional body. We are settling into all this...what we want...where we plan to go...and our plans to get there.

The Moon/Saturn conjunction is what gives today heaviness. But, it also offers sobriety, grounding and self-direction toward our goals. It offers traction and grit. All good things, in my opinion, it's just not a big fun/joyous affair. It most certainly can be a productive one, though. Making just one inch of progress in this day is going to make us feel better and accomplished. Choose a task. Follow it through. Check it off your list and go to bed a little more satisfied with yourself tonight. See? Not so complicated.

Saturday, May 5, 2018

Before dawn, the Moon dances in a nice Earthy trine with our Sun in Taurus. This is nice. Grounded. The emotional body is well settled, here. By 6:17 AM, the Moon melts in sextile to Neptune likely prompting us to sleep in or linger in dream. And WHY SHOULDN'T WE? It's the Saturday. Aren't alarm clocks illegal on the weekend? If not, they should be. Anyway, Saturday comes in gently.
By noon, the Moon is empowered and brought to a more fine point of focus by way of a sextile to Jupiter in Scorpio. After our leisurely morning, we may take on some weekend warrior tasks. This is the energy we need to help us dig into such.

But, our progress may not be fast enough for Mercury in Aries. The brain speeds ahead while the emotional body and solar body are still inclined to take things step by tedious step. Mercury in Aries? Not so patient. It wants to be done yesterday. And that fact is lit up as the Moon passes by Mercury by square a little less than a half-hour beyond the Jupiter sextile. Reel in your perspective. Breathe. Realize quality work cannot be rushed and your life is worth quality. Keep looking forward but don't forget where it is you actually are and don't skip any steps in an effort to get there more quickly.
By 5:00 PM, eagerness and desire grows as the Moon sinks into a conjunction with Pluto. There is temptation here. Potential at emotional manipulation and abuses of power. But, the same energy that brings these potentials forth also delivers unto us the resolve to deal with it. Moon/Pluto is super focused and fearless. Put your head down and push through while shoving any fears aside. Look at nothing other than your goal while holding tight to your integrity.

It could very well turn into a weekend night in which we burn the midnight oil, also. The Moon moves from Pluto toward a conjunction with Mars at 2:20 AM...which is a bit restless for most to be able to sleep with. So, we could be up working on something or we may just find ourselves kind of lustful or eager at nightfall.
The Moon remains active through the night. She will meet with Uranus by square on Sunday morning at 9:48 AM. So within the confines of this week...tonight is the most restless. However, in the background, the Sun waxes into sextile with Neptune helping us to relax even in the mix of this. Yet, that square to Uranus in the morning is certainly unsettled. With the Sun waxing toward Neptune it could catch us off guard. We will have about an hour of a feeling of a “dull gong” that follows that square in the morning while the Moon is Void. Then, when she crosses into Aquarius at 10:49 AM we will benefit from the lightness and optimism of Air.

Sunday, May 6, 2018

Today is mostly breezy and light following the “unsettled” feel of the Moon/Uranus square that finds us early this morning. The Moon is shook awake but emotional reaction subdues quickly after. As the Moon enters Aquarius, the atmosphere lightens and becomes breezy.

There are no major movements, otherwise, within this day. It offers us a bit of an extended break. However, we do have a couple of things waxing in that we probably need to pay attention to.
Overnight, Venus will meet Pluto by biquintile. This is a minor aspect that merely colors in nuance but what it can do is exacerbate paranioa and eagerness which will play into the also waxing Mercury/Pluto square which perfects early tomorrow morning. Meaning? Tonight may hold nightmares and echoes of last week's emergence of the Beast.
We faced off with that stuff once already as the Moon was growing and emotions were greatly heightened. It is a little less of threat here but still present and perhaps daunting in our dreams. But, managed correctly and it births fearlessness, determination and focus. You've got to be brave enough to stare this stuff down as it emerges, though, to get to that point.

Mercury square Pluto can cause some really harsh and forceful conversations to occur either in the external world or within our own heads. Folks may be pushy and try to be intimidating. You don't have to subject yourself to that. You are allowed to keep your eyes in your own lane realizing if they are spouting off at the mouth and what have you...they are probably scared. You don't have to make that your problem. Nor do you have to allow them to try to make it your problem. Focus in on what you are trying to do and sheer away the rest.
Pluto, as this square perfects, is still headed toward the Relay Race degree in Capricorn indicating help is still available to us if we need it. Meanwhile, Mercury moves toward the 22nd degree of Aries whose Sabian Symbol reads as follows: Gateway opening to the garden of all desired things. Joy and utter lack of inhibitions in objective life. Self-exaltation or bondage to the craving for happiness.

See? That doesn't sound so bad, right? No, it really doesn't. But, here's the problem with that. Mercury in Aries is still impatient. In square to Pluto, he could be obsessed with FINALLY getting through that gate to the Garden of everything he wants. In that, some may be tempted to run over folks to get there. We could become so eaten up in our heads about what it is we want to do...then further frustrated as it seems so close but yet...still so elusive (especially since Venus in Gemini also squares Neptune tomorrow) that we could, in fact, be tempted to do things to get there that we might regret.
Plus, Mercury/Pluto can swing toward negative thinking, self-destructive mentality or battles over who has the right to make decisions or call the shots.
Tomorrow is a pretty “big” day in so far as aspects. To meet it on the best ground, use today to lighten up a little. Do try to be optimistic about your long term plans for the future. Aquarius can muster that. But, know that the brain is going to be conflicted and those things we pinpointed as “wants” in our future at the beginning of the week are going to seem slippery...elusive...as if they are a mirage or just out of our reach. ALL THIS IS GOING TO PASS! You know? All we really need to do is focus in and continue shaping in our hearts what we want this to look like while sheering away distractions that may cause us to doubt ourselves and our abilities.

Fun Monday. There is an insurance commercial that used to be on TV where the agent is dressed as a fisherman and has a dollar bill on the end of his fishing rod. He teases a lady with it saying “oooh, almost had it...ha..ha...here it is, get it.” And tomorrow looks a lot like that to me. There are other ways it can go sideways, of course. By way of lying and manipulation in relationships. But, even with that, it's more self-confrontational than anything. If you can maintain control of yourself and remain brave enough to face down fears and impatience while remaining focused on your long term goals, it gets much easier to manage. For today...lighten up. Take a break. Get some fresh air. We can deal with these other two messes on Monday. Just know that the energy is coming in now so that you can be prepared for it.
