Full Moon in Scorpio 2018: The Beast

We are not even fully “into” this Full Moon yet. Mars does not officially meet Pluto until the 26th But, the happenings in the World are already illustrating what this is about. The Beast. The one we project onto the face of the other. The one that resides within our own selves that we deny. The insidious kind of temptation that comes with extraordinary hunger and..lust. From the recent Huddle House shooting to the rented truck incident in Toronto and million other little relevant stories in between. It is scary. We can never consider these acts as “normal” everyday occurrences. Cannot allow ourselves to become accepting of that. Because, it is frankly NOT acceptable regardless of how routine they seem to be in our world at this time. I don't know what the answers are to the problems around the globe. In that flux there is only one little bitty thing that I have truly have any control over. Myself. I suggest you direct your attention to the same.

The Full Moon occurs across the Sabian Symbols for 10 Taurus/Scorpio. These read as follows:

For the Sun at10 Taurus: A pretty red cross nurse hurries on an errand of mercy. Natural unrestrained pouring of self in service to one's fellow persons. Self-expression through compassionate understanding.

There are two folks in my circle of close that have planets here. Both are rescuers and provide compassionate care to others in different capacities. There is no question with these folks. They are here to serve others. It's just how they are built.

10 Scorpio: A fellowship supper reawakens unforgettable inner ties. Companionship rooted in past performance. Group personality emergence. Fraternity of ideals uplifting individual efforts.

There could be reunion-like affairs that bring old comrades back together to re-share their collective past experience. The roots of our bond are re-feathered or severed..but remembered either way. Who were we in this group? Was it who we truly are? Could this reunion of past contacts bring parts of ourselves back into our awareness that we have left behind? Pieces in need of reclamation? Or did the group bear influence that we responded to by leaving the truth of ourselves behind in spite of ourselves. Does the interaction of the group seem different now? Or is there is sweet nostalgic twang that welcomes everyone back to the table? The reactions will likely vary because even though this is a remembering of “collective” experience we still each perceive and recall it a little bit differently. With a group or not, we are reminded of ourselves in another time. Even though slated as a group affair, we should be focused much more about the personal effects of that experience. Perhaps revisiting this time or the actual people involved could inspire us to re-write that history through more wise and weathered eyes from a safe distance.

We have both the traditional and modern ruler's of Scorpio just separating in their conjunction in the sign of Capricorn. Mars moves toward 23 degrees and will soon enter his retrograde shadow. Pluto is retrograde and now travels toward the 21st degree of Capricorn.

Mars at 23 Capricorn: A soldier receives decorously two awards for bravery. Reward offered by society for the fulfilling of individual responsibility. Recognition of worth; unearned good fortune.

Pluto at 21 Capricorn: A relay race. Each runner springs eagerly into place. Extreme cooperation and give-and-take in life relationships. Full surrender of self to service. Planned group-behavior.

In the Symbol for Mars, we see rewards for bravery. Bravery cannot exist outside fear. The very definition of bravery is a willingness to face fear and to keep moving forward anyway. Fear is not the issue. Allowing it to stop us in our tracks or do something we would not ordinarily do otherwise is where the issue resides. For Pluto, you get a hint at everyone at the ready with their “collective service” job. Not too long ago, at first while Jupiter was Leo, then again as the nodes moved from Virgo to Leo, I mentioned finding your impact zone. Your role/job/skill in that realm of influence. All of which could be discovered in acts aimed at uncovering the truth of yourself and what it is you have to contribute to a stronger, more healthy and more widely encompassing world. Here we are pulling together ready to engage within those roles as one large cooperative movement. Bravery meets with self-knowledge and the ferocity of cooperation toward a common goal. There is power in numbers that align with a common intent. And, we say this in regard to praying and religion all the time. That a collective voice...many singing in unison or praying for the same end...raises the power that resides within the intention making it all the more potent. So though we may feel cast out during this rise of the Beast within due our own feelings of repulsiveness, rejection or self-loathing...we are still shown as necessary and intricately woven within the whole. Our specialized skills sets needed. We all have thorns. That need not stop us from engaging with our humanity. Takes courage to face that and to face off with ourselves. But once we do and release our grip on this stuff...we are ready to take our place at the starting line. Stronger. Determined. Focused. And, not alone.

The Moon and Saturn are in strong sextile here is which is great for self-direction, boundary, adherence to long terms goals as well as good grasp on our own feelings of responsibility and accountability. This Moon does likely prompt us to consider our individual roles in this existence quite deeply. This sextile, however, also makes a loose Yod with Venus in Gemini. How we feel is upheld by our level maturity while being well boundaried and steady...though emotions run very deep despite this. Those two things together (an intimate knowledge of self, a clear vision of future goals, firm grasp on boundary) points straight to what is important (Venus).
Of course, Saturn trines the Sun as well also supporting us in being self-accountable and self-directed. The nodal axis is now officially conjunct Ceres in Leo and the whole of that configuration creates a fixed cross with the Full Moon. What blossoms here, sticks. Has permanence. May be hard or impossible to change in the future let alone forget. As a matter of fact, I definitely see the next two weeks putting markers on the timeline of world history that we do deem as “unforgettable” events. Taurus and Scorpio are not known for forgetfulness, anyway (plus, the Sabian for the Moon mentions this word specifically). Taurus and Scorpio (particularly Moon or Mercury natives) have lengthy and detailed memories. Plus, with the nodes involvement, I'm hearing echoes of past and prelude to future eclipses..this Moon marks the halfway point between those eclipse seasons.
Other relevant matters in this chart include Uranus at the 29th degree of Aries, where he will hang until dropping into Taurus following our New Moon in May. Plus, Juno conjunct Chiron with both newly in Aries is not something to just gloss over, either. Commit to your own healing. Start there. This is how the world heals by each of us focusing on what we need to heal ourselves with that energy rippling out across the whole of the collective.

Jupiter is in position to be a linkage point between Neptune and Pluto. As time moves forward, this three planet configuration will tighten. Jupiter and Pluto will meet by official sextile again in the Fall at 18 degrees of their signs. Neptune will be at 15 degrees of Pisces..so we are looking at a mere 3 degree orb there and a drawing together of energies which is subtle but resilient. Strong, powerful and goal oriented but compassionate, empathic and creative. Something to look forward to but likely an ongoing type energy that will peak and wane from now until the end of the year mixing all this outer planet power together in one massive...swirl.
Of course, it is a Full Moon which is geared toward release. What rises within us? Our very own type of beast. The ugly underbelly we would like to forget. Feelings of resentment, guilt, remorse, regret, fear, powerlessness, envy, greed, gluttony...splattered across the sky. Those things that we hold on to in the quiet dark spaces of our souls emerge like thorns that have been embedded beneath our skin for decades. So long it has become part of us while poisoning our core with its infection at the same time.
It's time to pull out the thorn. Release the toxins safely. Soothe and tame the beast within. Allow the beast to heal.
This is not an emergence that is quick, either. These are slow and sometimes painful or infuriating conclusions we come to. Point being so that we can rid ourselves of them or at the very least become aware of how the infection may affect how we feel, operate or even create relationship and make decisions. How, though it typically lays latent, it still threatens to turn us putrid as if we held rot in our insides.

Ali was a Capricorn with a stellium in Taurus

Along the axis between Taurus and Scorpio, we find natives with the strength and endurance of Atlas. These are those that forebear, carrying the worlds burdens and karma across their back. Due that enduring energy, some may try to bear the weight of this beastly energy. Endure it. Walk with it. Continue on with the infection and luggage that we could, instead, choose to free ourselves from. Yet, the sign of Scorpio can be both sadistic and masochistic. Some may choose to inflict the others with their poison. Others may slay themselves with it because pain is the only sensation that helps them feel alive. But, if you choose to begin releasing it, you will see that this is not something we have to continue suffering from. We can walk away. We can release our grip on it and lay it down. Suffering, on some levels, can end here. Or be made worse, depending on our individual choices which is the absolute ONLY thing we humans really have any control over.
You don't have to carry this, pilgrim. Turn it back over into the soil. Forgive it. Forgive yourself; but, let “it” go. Let it die. Decompose and enrich the soil for new and less cumbersome life. Learn what you have to learn from it. Sure. But, squeeze out all the pus that surrounds it so that the spot of the thorn can regenerate with new and healthier tissue.

Scorpio and Pluto have this tendency to act as drawing substances. Pulling from our core the insults to our flesh and tender souls. Allow the detoxification to occur without need to take physical action upon it with the exception of releasing our grip and laying of hands toward healing. This feel of a drawing salve bringing toxins for our release to the surface, again...doesn't occur in one day. We are in this right now and the energy will likely continue across the course of the next two weeks. Keep letting it surface. Keep rendering it to the dirt allowing yourself the healing space you need. It is an experience with easily discernible individualized stripes. But, taking the whole in perspective, it also marks a large sweeping collective movement in which a resounding cry of “ENOUGH” is strong enough to make the Earth quake. Slow but steadily building in resonance. Heavy and cumbersome...trudging and forlorn...bearing down upon us until we have reached the cusp of our ability to tolerate it. Casting it down upon the floor. Rising anew and less encumbered...and a choice coming forth unto the collective that is met with the stomp of “NO MORE!” If you join a group movement, ensure you hold true to your own independent thoughts and identity without getting sucked into a sea of group think.

No More. Welcome to the Beast.
