Morning Star: Astrology for the week of November 28 to December 4, 2016

Monday, November 28, 2016

The Moon is Void in Scorpio for a large portion of the day. She enters Sagittarius this afternoon at 3:46 PM. Not much occurs in the realm of Astrology throughout the day, save a few minor aspects from the Moon.

We are in full blown releasing mode as we make our way to the New Moon in Sagittarius which occurs in the morning.

Tuesday, November 29, 2016

This morning we wake up to a fresh New Moon cycle with the seed of the New Moon in Sagittarius being planted at 7 Sagittarius 43 at 7:19 AM EST. The Sabian Symbol for this lunation reads as follows:

SUN AND MOON AT 8 SAGITTARIUS: In the cauldron of the universe the metals are forming. Irresistible determination to be. Infinite capacity for hard work. Crystallization of purpose and will out of experience.

Shortly after the perfection of the New Moon, Venus in Capricorn sextiles Chiron (10:14 AM). She then finds Uranus by square a few hours later at 3:20 PM. Meanwhile, the Moon in Sagittarius squares Neptune at 10:26 AM. The New Moon itself is within orb of a square with Neptune as the Sun continues to wax in this square until perfecting tomorrow night.
One interesting thing to point out here about the signs of Aquarius (ruled by Uranus and Saturn) and Pisces (ruled by Jupiter and Neptune). Both, at their highest, are unifying. For example, Aquarius is prone to gather people together in groups. Races. Classes. It scientifically divides things like plant and animal species, too. So, while there is unity there is still a sense of division and classification. That is not to say that Aquarius at it's highest doesn't recognize the need for co-existence of these groups. It does. It recognizes how one classification effects another and how the dynamic of interaction between groups effects the world/environment at large. However, it still recognizes the differences within the mix. Pisces, however, dissolves the edges of the divisive lines and puts everyone and everything in an interconnected sea. There is no separation of animal, man, rock or any other thing. The highest expression of Pisces sees (and feels) the connectivity of ALL things.
I think this is important to keep in the back of your mind as we traverse this day due to Venus' movements. Chiron in Pisces can represent many things. Our denied illnesses. Our illusory sense of division or even feeling as if you are lost in that sea...meaningless, unimportant and just a mere drop of water lost within infinity. It can represent matters of addiction, personal/collective bias, all the -isms (racism, sexism, ageism, etc) as well as a desire to heal that or set yourself apart from it. It can also represent an alluring desire for escape be that through suicide, use of chemicals/drugs or denial and what have you. Unfortunately, though, the matters that Chiron in Pisces represents influence the entire sea of existence. And, Chiron's issues here are often very illusive. Hard to grasp concepts that more often show up as a needling or sick/achy feeling in our very core rather than one that makes any kind of logical sense. The effect of Chiron in Pisces means if your neighbor is sick then so are you. If one drop of water is ill or not operating in an effort to support the unity of the whole then the whole sea is turbulent and/or fractured. The ripples this creates is infinite and draws to mind the importance of concern for the welfare of all people and matters of the Universe because directly or indirectly it does effect even the smallest droplet of water...even you.

Venus in Capricorn has an admiration for tradition. Maintaining and supporting a sense of culture that has been passed down from previous generations. Here, she is also concerned with matters of reputation, prestige and somewhat of a maintenance of the status quo. As she passes by Chiron by sextile, though the aspect is rather soft, there could be an increasing fear or sense of these things being lost, washed away, denied or forgotten. Then, as she squares Uranus in Aries, there could be an outcry for these divisive lines to be redrawn as folks declare “I am this or that and these things are relevant to maintaining my sense of culture.” This mentality helps foster a sense of identity for folks. Sort of like a sense of pride in regard to what it is that makes us unique and/or set apart from the sea. When in actuality, not to say these things are not important, they still denote a sense of division amongst us. It's then when we start fighting over who is right, what is best, what is wrong based upon these long standing principles of different cultures that are held at value by individuals and governing bodies at large.
One simple example of this that I find both humorous and annoying is the ongoing debate of wishing someone a Merry Christmas versus Happy Holidays at this time of year. I've noticed that when someone is in the throes of or whipped up in the disagreement over this they will wish someone one or the other with a sense of spite in their voice. Adamantly. “I'm going to wish you a Merry Christmas regardless of how anyone reacts to it because that's how I believe!” Ok. That really doesn't sound like you are wishing someone well to me. It sounds a lot like you are saying words veiled with spite. So. Yeah. That's what is conveyed here. Spite. “Have a Merry Christmas whether you like it or not!” And, don't think that the underlying nuance of your sentiment is missed either. Depending on inflection and tone you can slice someone open with words whose meaning should be warm and jolly and vice versa. As a matter of fact your non-verbal conveyances bear much more impact than your actual words upon a communication exchange. In the end, it matters MUCH less the words you use and MUCH more how you use those words. Honestly, I can think of nothing else more trivial than this. You are either sending well wishes or not. The words you use matter less than the sentiment behind them.
At the same time, Mars in Aquarius remains in mutual reception with Uranus in Aries. The push for unity by way of division persists. Different groups rise up and war with other groups for different reasons all under the pretense of freedom for one group or the other. It's like an autoimmune disorder or something as one part of the body human attacks the other. The higher expression of this recognizes the differences within groups of folks (or plant/animal species) and strives toward co-existence. But, in our anger or oppression we are often distracted with the maintenance of the divisions rather than bringing the groups peacefully and cohesively together. Holding the lines and barriers. Uplifting and pointing out the differences and divides. Never realizing or acknowledging that we all return to the same type of dust and vapor...eventually. We are all specialized cells within the body human.

I do realize this is a lot to take in regarding just a few Venus aspects. However, as Venus sextiles Chiron we are gently reminded of this “lost at sea” syndrome that we may fear the loss of things like tradition and culture. Then, as Venus squares Uranus, the easiest way (lowest expression) is to work to strive to maintain and uphold those differences honoring whichever one applies to the individual. While, the highest expression (and hardest to maintain, most likely) is to detach from them OR be willing to share them. A stronger Universal mentality supports sharing, understanding and mutual respect for the multitude of cultural traditions and beliefs. Part of me is convinced that the only way this type of unity may occur is through some sort of Alien invasion. Yes. You read that right. I'm at a loss in regard to what may unite humanity other than a threat from something non-human. I say that both with snark and seriousness.
I'm not saying that cultural history and tradition are not important. They are. We must know our past history, know the details of what built us, know our personal cultural “stain” so to speak. However. IF there is something about any of that which makes you prone to attack someone of another culture, push for segregation or oppression of other types of people, denounce or wound your connection to anything outside that group and/or deny or devalue something of importance to another group...then, there is an uncertain type of illness there that needs to be rectified. Simply put if maintaining your sense of culture and tradition means infringing upon the right to the same for someone else, then...something is askew somewhere. This is the part that needs to be released. Detach from the fear that something “different” may be a threat to what you know. Heart cells don't chide stomach cells for being what they are. I mean this type of cohesiveness occurs right in your body on a daily basis. As within so without. In the external world why do we do this to each other? That just makes the crevice bigger and further divides us for absolutely no reason since we all return to the same sea eventually in death. I'm right! You are wrong! Then we die and none of it matters. Pointless waste of all kinds of energies.
What's really interesting? Without your religious texts. Without your idols. Without your “sacred places” you are still you and likely still believe what you believe. You have still inherited the genealogy and history of what you've inherited. Physical representations of culture, religion and tradition can be stripped from you. But, the truth of who you are and where you came from still remains; because, no one can take that away from you.
You are unique and important. Just like everyone else. You are an individual but as an individual you are (like it or not) also a part of an integral and infinite sea of everything.
The New Moon herself offers an opportunity at a different perspective and fostering of a more inclusive world view (square Neptune). Then, Venus aims to test that a little. She asks, “Do you mean it? Even if it means taking away this and this and this? What is really important here?” And, it all occurs under an uncertain, emotional and foggy veil of Neptune. Will you continue to deny the fact that we are all one in favor of your sense of individualized or cultural pride? To the point that pride leads you to a martyr's death? Some will say “yes.” Others will soften and question themselves. Even more still, will be lost questioning who they are and who these folks around them are because nothing really seems solid or real. Some will struggle to find a foothold in their identity.

Between 11:00 PM and about 3:30 AM, the Moon tops off a lovely mini-trine between the signs of Sagittarius, Libra and Aquarius (15-17 degrees). She begins with a sextile to Mars in Aquarius at 11:00 PM. This is followed by a sextile to Jupiter at 1:21 AM. It ends with a lunar conjunction to Saturn at 3:17 AM. Yes. Moon to Saturn is quickly sobering. But, that sobering fosters a sense of emotional fortitude, truth and boundary that is uplifted by Mars and Jupiter. All of which begs and pleads to us for cohesiveness (Aquarius), justice (Libra) and truth (Sagittarius). The Sun will soon repeat these aspects.
All in all, it's a pretty interesting day. Likely active with many choosing to foster a new outlook on several different scenarios while others continue to question both themselves and the folks around them in confusion as the Sun keeps waxing toward Neptune. There are definitely emotional connotations to the day as well due the Neptunian influence that works to dissolve boundaries and divisive lines across the world. In other words, in the core of your existence, the pain of the world can be felt aching in your soul whether you choose to consciously recognize it as that or not.

Wednesday, November 30, 2016

This morning, the Moon in Sagittarius is square Chiron (9:18 AM) and subsequently trine Uranus in Aries (9:46 AM). Again we have the feelings of illusive pain, illness and a sense of disconnection coupled by a desire toward freedom of expression and backed by a sense of cohesiveness. All the while the lines of personal identity continue to blur as the Sun perfects in square to Neptune at 8:17 PM. TRUTH! TRUTH! UNITY! UNITY! Are chants that cry out but there is an underlying block to that which says, “As long as I don't have to let go of this and this in order to achieve it.” When the very things we are clinging to in resistance are exactly what widens the existing crevices.

By 11:09 PM, the Moon is conjunct Mercury in Sagittarius. Following this aspect, the Moon reaches Void status until entering Capricorn at 3:53 AM early tomorrow morning. We need (Moon) open and truthful (Sagittarius) discussion (Mercury). We need (Moon) to foster a deeper understanding of world culture and foreign affairs (Sagittarius) and bring a sense of collaborative dialogue to the table (Mercury). The night ends with us stewing on that note. The conversations/thoughts are ongoing and emotionally affective. But, a plan of action is yet to be fostered. We are just talking/thinking about it all here.
Prior to the Moon reactivating in Capricorn, Chiron in Pisces turns direct at 3:24 AM.

Thursday, December 1, 2016

This morning the Moon is in Capricorn. Her first aspect is a sextile to Neptune at 10:16 PM. What builds throughout the day, though, is the waxing trine between Mars in Aquarius and Jupiter in Libra. At it's most basic this is VERY windy. (Could be a good day to drag out the leaf blower). It can, at times, even feel aggressively windy but that is not the highest expression of this. The highest expression calls for justice, unity, recognition of differences but still a call toward cohesiveness.

As the Moon is being softened by Neptune, today's Mars/Jupiter trine is stellar for charitable acts and engaging in movements that support a social cause. There are few cautions. One is over-promising yourself or metaphorically biting off more than you can chew. Another is not realizing that talking about doing something and actually doing it are not the same thing. Think less. Do more. A final one is pushing a personal agenda instead of something that supports unity and cohesiveness. Neither Libra nor Aquarius are very personal. They represent “the other” and “the group” not so much just “you.” We move forward together or not at all, in other words. This is less about your personal agenda. It's more about inclusive forward motion and what you can physically do/change in an effort to support such.

Overall, if you can flow with the integrity and compassion of Capricorn mixed with Neptune, you can, in fact, accomplish a great deal today. Rigid schedules and time crunched deadlines do not support this. You do what you can as the opportunity arises without just trying to “fit it in your schedule.”

Friday, December 2, 2016

Today we move from yesterday's damp but arid conditions into something a little deeper and darker. The Moon in Capricorn finds Pluto by conjunction at 11:28 AM. She then finds Jupiter by square at 1:41 PM. She re-ignites the battle between the Gods. Control and manipulation become huge issues. The highest expression preaches less and models appropriate behavior instead. While the lesser of this energy fights for control over everyone and everything. It is justified (often self-justified) to the death.
Mentalities and mindsets are due to shift this afternoon as Mercury enters Capricorn at 4:18 PM. In the sign of Capricorn, Mercury will experience a retrograde period. In other words, he is going to be in the sign for a bit. His backward movement begins on Dec 19 at 15 Capricorn 08 (barely missing a conjunction with Pluto). He travels all the way back to 28 Sagittarius 52 where he finally turns direct on January 8 of next year. He is already in shadow as I type this.
The Moon is still busy following Mercury's entrance into Capricorn. At 8:37 PM she is sextile Chiron. A few minutes later she is square Uranus (8:58 PM). This again brings potential to be triggered and subsequently react impulsively. Whereas the higher expression has us softening with empathy and awareness while subsequently trying to foster a more intelligent and logical way to deal with what has occurred and continues to occur. It's an opportunity at self-conditioning in a way.

Due the current positions of Chiron and Uranus (semi-sextile) any time a planet makes an aspect to one, it almost immediately and/or simultaneously makes an aspect to the other. As each one of our “more personal” planets/luminaries (Venus, Mercury, Mars, Sun and Moon) pass by these bodies, we are tested a little more. The same issues crop up in different ways in an effort to bring acknowledgment to these Chironic issues. Then the instigating aspects to Uranus propel us to deal with them. The first few set ups like this were likely rocky. We probably did react in a knee jerk or wounded animal type of way. Yet as they continue, we are given a chance to see how our reactions could be refined, more wise, more inventive, more inclined toward our own sense of freedom and independence rather than left shaking our heads wondering “WHY does this keep happening to me?” I was reminded a few days ago that a definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results. I, in no way, believe this to be a comprehensive definition of insanity. But, it does apply. So, if you catch yourself asking why something keeps occurring you can rest assured that it is likely because your reaction to it, your attitude toward it or your boundaries around it need to be adjusted in someway. If the old way of coping isn't working, experiment with something new.

Saturday, December 3, 2016

Emotional bodies are at a little bit more ease this morning as the Moon finds Venus in Capricorn via conjunction at 5:17 AM. Here, she reaches Void status until entering Aquarius at 2:45 PM.

Meanwhile, Mars moves from his trine with Jupiter and enters a sextile with Saturn at 7:16 AM. This, coupled with the stellium in Capricorn, calls for us to get down to solid production. It isn't really recommended to start anything new under a Void moon. But, you can make progress on projects you have already started. Or you can wait to start something new as the Moon clicks over into Aquarius. Either way, we are fairly bent on production and achievement. Being able to feel as if you have accomplished something will help you feel more settled. With or without production, though, the sextile between Mars and Saturn calls for us to be accountable for our actions and to act with responsibility.
The rest of the day clicks by with only minor aspects from the Moon. This allows us to toil as we please without much distraction from the emotional body. It's fairly smooth and easy for the most part.

Sunday, December 4, 2016

Last night's “smooth and easy” continues into this morning. The first Lunar aspect we encounter is a sextile between the Moon and the Sun in Sagittarius. This uplifting and light. Joyful, even. And, considering the only other major lunar aspect we have is a trine to Jupiter at midnight, we may even be able to relax and just enjoy the day.
This set up is good for social gatherings. Circles of friends. It's breezy and fairly active. It's also a good day for sporting events (attending or playing). So, choose your venue, grab some buddies and enjoy.
