Morning Star: Daily Astrology for the Week of October 17 to October 23, 2016

Monday, October 17, 2016

Early this morning (2:09 AM EDT), the Moon in Taurus found Neptune in Pisces by sextile. This pushes us into deep slumber overnight and illustrates this time with vivid dreamscapes. By 8:40 AM, deep rest has paid off as the Moon trines Mars in Capricorn. This motivational push allows us to “get into” the grit of the work ahead of us. Production and diligent adherence to matters of integrity and responsibility are highlighted. There is no fluff here. It is the pure call to get your hands dirty in the business you have ahead of you.

This sentiment is emphasized as the Moon also finds Pluto in Capricorn by trine at 10:47 AM. There is much to be done. Today offers us the opportunity to make great strides of progress especially in regard to laborious work. What supplements the mood is to be able to bring completion to something. The sweat of your brow following a hard days work is just reward. Plus, being able to see your own progress within the day will stabilize your mood and cause you to feel fairly good about yourself. But, it is all Earth. So, what you need to caution yourself against is making tasks too complicated. While the interaction with Pluto will allow us to assess detail work, it is important to be remain realistic in our expectations of ourselves and our abilities to produce and to incorporate common sense. Mercury in Libra will struggle with this at first as it tries to decide which task to undertake first. However, once that challenge is met, the steadfast energy of this morning can support you in just about any “down to Earth” undertaking.
The trine to Pluto from the Taurus Moon will make your belly growl, though. Be sure to eat energy sustaining foods rather than opt for sugary or caffeinated as these products will not give you the support you need to sustain energy levels for production throughout the day. So, start the morning off right with an empowering stick to your ribs breakfast and plan to follow through with energy sustaining meals at lunchtime.

By 9:03 PM, our muscles likely ache with fatigue and we are ready to lay our plows down for the night as the Moon in Taurus meets Chiron in Pisces by sextile. Here, we rest and recover as the Moon reaches Void status until entering Gemini tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, our hearts and priorities switch gears as Venus leaves the deep encompassing waters of Scorpio and leaps into the celebratory fires of Sagittarius at 3:01 AM. This movement of Venus does lighten things considerably on a few levels. However, we are soon to leave Libra season for the depths of Scorpio season and Mars remains waxing toward a conjunction with Pluto due to perfect on the 19th. This means that even with the added “lightness” of Venus in Sagittarius, there is still plenty brewing under the surface and many a deep matter still up for consideration.

Here is the itinerary for Venus' journey through the sign of Sagittarius (it is a quick trip!):

*Venus square Neptune October 25 at 9:55 PM at 9 Sagittarius/Pisces 25 with the Moon in Virgo filling in a mutable t-square
*Venus sextile Jupiter October 26 at 11:20 AM 10 Sagittarius/Libra 05
*Venus conjunct Saturn October 29 at 8:46 PM at 14 Sagittarius 11
*Venus square Chiron on November 4 at 12:38 PM at 21 Sagittarius/Pisces 00
*Venus trine Uranus on November 5 at 2:24 AM at 21 Sagittarius/Aries 41
*Venus enters Capricorn on November 11th at 11:55 PM

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday dear ME...happy birthday to me! Oh, sorry. I got distracted for a minute.
This morning we wake up to a Void Moon in Taurus. She remains void until entering the sign of Gemini at 10:31 AM. Her first aspect comes by way of opposition to Venus newly in Sagittarius at 11:10 AM. There is a balancing of want and need that has to occur here. Otherwise, an opposition with Venus is not a huge ordeal. The rest of the day, the Moon moves toward our bigger players in the sky. She perfects in trine to Jupiter just after midnight and then squares off with Neptune at 1:48 AM.

The Moon in trine to Jupiter is not so bad. It is windy, though. Chatty and socially inclined. That mixed with an incoming aspect to Neptune could be exhausting in and of itself. Or we could be dipping into the vat of wine in our social drinking a little too much too quickly and be spent. There is also a chance for whipping conversations (trine Jupiter) to stir up quite an emotional deluge (square Neptune). And, of course, there is always the chance of a fish tale or two so be sure the information you are tossing about in your social conversations is checked for fact.
The best use of this, I feel, is to become adherent to the truth and then lay your brain down for a good night's rest. You are going to need it. We wake up to a powerful conjunction from Mars to Pluto in the morning. You don't want to have to greet that hungover in anyway. Nope. Morning calls for us to be at the top of our game, for sure.

As this aspect (Mars/Pluto) waxes in overnight, there could be dangerous plots underfoot. Be sure to take proper safety precautions in light of that. We could wake up to a few murderous or bloody headlines in the morning, as well. As a matter of fact, as the waxing energy of this conjunction builds, we may see some of those headlines in our news of today. Maybe that's what we we are wagging our tongues and crying about as the Moon meets Jupiter and then Neptune. Either way, please be careful and alert out there. This is not a cuddly gentle energy...AT ALL. As a matter of fact, it can be very vicious and lethal. It can also denote the power of the Phoenix, though, packing an opportunity to metaphorically rise from the smoking ashes. Either way you look at it there is a huge emphasis on power and how it is used. It will be plentiful. As the adage goes, “With great power comes great responsibility.” It is that philosophy that should, indeed, become a beacon of truth for us as we traverse this passage. However, it takes a very skilled and astute energy manipulator to steer this energy to it's highest expression. So, expect that some will be off the chain violent as this is the path of least resistance. Aside from an adherence to responsible use of power, it is also important (as any skilled Mars/Pluto native knows) to be very mindful of what you pour your energy into. Only give your precious Mars energy to projects that feed back as much as you put in. Don't lend it things that serve only as a drain. Instead, focus this tremendous energy upon building stronger foundations and perhaps even upon renovation of the old. Then, prepare to be amazed by your own progress.

The tremendous energy “push” continues as Mars officially sinks into the depths of Pluto at 7:17 this morning on the following Sabian:
Capricorn 16: School grounds filled with youths in gymnasium suits. Normal dependence upon physical stimulation. Robust enthusiasm in approaching life's contests; or immature impulsiveness.

We should try to move around physically to help dissipate some of this excess physical energy. A focus of energies is called for. Almost immediately after the perfection of this conjunction, the collective emotional body sobers up really quick by way of an opposition from the Moon in Gemini to Saturn in Sagittarius at 7:41 AM. You know, at a quick glance, it looks something like martial law. A lot of ugly comes trickling out of Mars/Pluto and Saturn in Sagittarius is the strong hammer of the law. So, the Empire strikes but the factions of law and world regulatory factions respond quickly...and potentially rather forcefully. This is NOT by any stretch of the imagination a light and celebratory day. Be easy with yourself. Depression and oppression are real factors as well as an over use of force and abuses of power.
In the meantime, minds are also busy gathering information from all sides in an attempt to come to the most just conclusion. And, this doesn't occur quietly. No, the discussions happen right out in the open air, at times, in such a forthright and direct matter that seems lightning bolts shoot directly out of a person's mouth. There is room for true verbal brilliance here. A veritable sword fight, in fact, that has the chance to turn quite quickly paced and vicious.

At 9:17 PM the Moon squares off with Chiron and our the elusive pain and bias of the collective has it's trigger tripped. Then, the Moon trines Mercury and things get REALLY windy at about 10:00. Quickly thereafter, the Moon catches fuel and wind by way of a sextile to Uranus at 10:42 PM. All the while, Mercury in Libra is strongly waxing toward a standoff (opposition) with Uranus in Aries at 3:48 AM. Hey, I have an idea! Let's cut ourselves free from all the political side winding bullshit and look for the truth. How's that?

On the most mundane level, this energy is manic. The brain races and scrambles and rumors spread like wildfire. Yeah, Mercury in Libra can, indeed, be a gossip. However, the highest expression of this energy has us balancing out our desire for rebellion with more inclusive speech. It has us weighing facts against fiction with intelligence and DEFINITELY encourages us to think for ourselves instead of just instantly and willingly incorporating the “he said/she said” into our personal truths. Think for yourself. Fact check. Be more inclusive in your speech. What novel ideas... But in all seriousness, this is a very windy type energy that could also manifest within our weather systems. And, could, in fact manifest in our minds and come out by way of our tongues like a destructive cyclone. Be VERY mindful of what you say. To help offset some of the manic energy, I suggest cutting down on stimulants such as sugar, caffeine, etc throughout the day. It will be a restless night for sleep, most likely. So, also be wary of becoming overly mentally stimulated by over-consuming electronic media and the like. Know when to call a halt to that and take a break for the sake of your own sanity.

The winds give forth a final gust as the Moon in Gemini trines the Sun in Libra at 7:18 AM. From here, the mood goes flat as the Moon reaches Void status. She reawakens in moody and sensitive Cancer at 11:29 AM. We are exhausted with the chatter. We are blown weary by the wind.

We become more concerned about matters of the home front and family rather than more worldly concerns. Many will retreat into the sanctuary of their shells today.
As the Moon squares off with windy Jupiter in Libra overnight (2:42 AM), we are likely “tired of hearing it.” The endless arrow slings and arguments don't sit will with Moon here. Turn off the TV. Turn down the ringer volume on your phone. Shut the yammering of the world off for the day and withdraw into yourself for protection and sanctuary. Eat well. Rest well. And, waste no time telling the “other” to shut up about it...at least for now. Feed your Moon.

At 3:35 AM, the Moon met Neptune by watery trine...hopefully enabling us to get some rest. It could have been tearful and emotive though. Such is the nature of this kind of beast. It is very sensitive. But, also very intuitive.
By 1:14 PM bellies growl as the Moon in Cancer stands off against Pluto in Capricorn. This is a Momma Lioness versus the oppressiveness of regulatory bodies here. The Moon then stands off with Mars also in Capricorn at 4:05 PM. Momma Lioness is not happy at all. And, neither are the forces she opposes. However, somebody has to look out for the needs of the children and the nest. That is exactly what the Moon here is inclined to do. Balance out matters of work versus matters of home. Bear in mind that taking care of your emotional state is a more valuable exercise than being overly concerned with social status or your ability to produce. If you are messed up on the inside, anything you produce on the outside is likely to be messed up to. So, make sure your basic needs are met before you go off fighting a war. Circle the wagons and protect the home front.

Just after midnight, the moon squares off with Uranus in Aries. This could equate to being overly stimulated. It could equate to being rattled out of your comfy bed unexpectedly in the middle of the night. Either way, it isn't comfortable for the Moon in Cancer. Perhaps make a pearl of the irritant. But, expect that anxiety could, indeed, be a factor here. The breakage of many a “give a damn” is also highly possible. Many sturdy camel backs will break under those “final straw” scenarios.

Saturday, October 22, 2016

This morning the Moon in Cancer is in square to Mercury in Libra as the battle between the Crab and the Scales continues. By 3:15 PM the final “flush” of this energy comes by way of our Last Quarter Moon which perfects at the 29th degree of Cardinal signs. For real, whatever it is, we need to let it go.
The Moon is only Void for a brief time following this. And, she is not alone in her shifting. The Moon moves into Leo at 3:35 PM and the Sun moves into the depths of Scorpio at 7:46 PM.

Overnight, Venus and the Moon buddy up by trine in fire signs (2:28 AM). That energy is considerably lighter than what we've just endured. However, the Sun now broods and seethes in Scorpio. So, some of that lightness will be offset by that fact alone. Yet, there is still light, playfulness to be had if you can coax yourself out of your brooding long enough to grab the opportunity. On a side note, it's a good night for a bonfire. If you'd like to use that bonfire toward magical intent, write down what you would like to be rid of on a piece of paper and let it perish in your fire. Banish things like paranoia, greed, jealousy, abuses of power and the like to the fire. Last Quarter Moons are SWEET opportunities for such. It's also a good night to burn the last of your yard trimmings. Or, you know, just roast a marshmallow and dance around to the steady beat of the tribal drum. It all fits.

Sunday, October 23, 2016

Today looks much better energywise in comparison to some of the aspects we endured during the meat of the week. The energy began an upswing as the Moon trined Venus in Sagittarius overnight. The mood continues to lighten and become more social as the Moon in Leo finds Jupiter in Libra by sextile this morning (8:45 AM). Dumping/burning the things that continually weigh us down (purging them by fire) last night really holds potential for a lighter state of being this morning.

By 4:21 PM the Moon is stabilized with a trine to Saturn in Sagittarius. This is a great time to make preparations for your week ahead. It's also a good night for things like board games and other ways in which you can take fun seriously. All in all, it feels nice to be a little more settled and centered.
The rest of the day, the Moon makes only minor aspect as she works her way toward a trine with Uranus which perfects in the morning. The mood continues to lighten and lift as the Moon moves through Leo. This, however, is our last full day of Mercury in Libra. On Monday evening, Mercury dives into the depths of Scorpio and conversations turn to whispers and secret plots are held tightly to our chests. Thoughts turn serious and deep. So, definitely enjoy the lightness of today.
