Morning Star: Astrology for the week of June 27 to July 3, 2016

Monday, June 27, 2016

This morning we wake up to an active Aries Moon. She landed here overnight (3:09 AM). Then, Chiron stationed retrograde in Pisces at 4:48 AM. Meanwhile, Venus is trining Neptune at 9:53 AM. Then...and then, Mercury squares newly retrograde Chiron at 12:25 PM followed quickly by our Last Quarter Moon (6 Aries/Cancer 30). WAKE UP! ALL THE THINGS ARE HAPPENING!

Ok, in my overview glance at the week, what I've noticed is a lot of Venus. There is also a lot of “hunger” and “desire for satiation.” Venus begins, today by trining Neptune. But, before the week is out she will have opposed Pluto and sextiled Jupiter. These are movements that the Sun will repeat. He finds Neptune by trine at the end of the week. So, know that there is an undercurrent of Venus activity running through the thread of the week as a whole. Also, pay attention to what occurs here because the themes will likely repeat in some way as the Sun (and eventually Mercury) pass this way soon.
Venus' “leading the way” action doesn't stop there either. Next week she will square Uranus and trine Mars (direct!!). Then, she lands in Leo bringing a change of energy with her on July 12th.
Oh. But the big news as far as I'm concerned is Mars finally going direct. Do I dread him making his 3rd contact to my Neptune? No. Do I dread him making 3rd contacts with other folks' natal planets. No. I've noticed that the 3rd pass of a previously retrograde planet actually brings a bit of mastery and rectification with it. This is where the use of these energies has been tried and tested TWICE. By the third time, we are skilled and better aware of the do's and don'ts and pitfalls. So, yes, I'm looking forward to this. About the only caution I have for folks is to retain what you have learned during the retrograde and remember we start off STILL under a caution flag with Mars inconjunct Uranus as he stations direct. What we need to do is start off slow during the turn around. Gently exerting ourselves and being very conscious of how we mete out this returning energy. It calls for resourcefulness. It calls for conscious engagement of activity. It does not call for trying to pick up all the things and do them all at the same time.

In a way, it is like “coming back to life” following an injury. It takes time and patience to rebuild muscle strength and endurance. So, be mindful of the process. But, continue to excavate and rebuild. With Mars' direct motion occurring as the Moon is waning, the energy is excellent for shoveling crap out of your way. Clearing out. Removing obstacles and clutter. Finally finishing something up so you can move forward with something else...just in time for the New Moon in Cancer on the 4th. Keep “fresh and clean slate” on your agenda. We are looking to work from a very clean and very new platform by the time we get to the New Moon.
Plus, with Chiron stationing retrograde this week, I'm finding it important to go full lean into the things that help us feel better. I just wrote in my private Facebook group (for my clients that follow working with the Moon—The Lunartic Fringe) “many folks have been slammed and knocked off their game.” Right? There are some areas where “life as we know it” has crumbled and fallen apart bringing change with it. While the “shock” of that is being processed, folks who are reverting to things/activities that they KNOW have always helped them feel better and cope more effectively are asking themselves, “How could I have laid this down?” For me, this was dancing. I took a mere 20 minutes the other day and turned on the radio and just danced. I couldn't believe how much better it made me feel to just move my body and express some energy that felt like it had been pent up for a long time. I asked myself, “How could I forget that this made me feel so much better?” So, yeah, leaning into those things that YOU KNOW work is a highly beneficial thing right now even if it is something simple like taking time to escape into a book, or doodle, or color, or nap or whatever it is that brings you to a place of peace and “feel better” DO IT! Venus, Mars and Chiron all want this for you.

In regard to today, though, our Aries Moon feels as if it needs to move forward. However, the condition of both Venus (swooped up in Neptune la-la land) and Mars (stalled out) may make that difficult. So, the bigger call here and what brings a bit of balance to the pushiness of the Aries Moon is to deliver onto yourself what it is you need. What your physical body needs too. Make this a very personal affair (Aries). Feed YOUR Moon. If you need rest, then championing that cause is both Aries assertive while appeasing Venus/Neptune at the same time. Think not of the journey outward. But heed the call of the journey inward and bravely give yourself whatever you need to address those things.
The final flush energy comes upon us as Mercury squares Chiron and our Last Quarter Moon perfects. This “flushing” energy hangs with us all the way until the New Moon calling for us to clear out, let go, accept, flow and focus on wiping the slate clean. So, focus the energy on such efforts. Yes, even Venus/Neptune can help with this...and Venus/Pluto too. Heed the call. Physical/mental detox efforts are met with great reward and replenishment. Also, talking about/sharing your effective coping mechanisms in a way that is stated “this is what works for me” instead of telling folks “you must do this and you must do that” is also highly beneficial right now. Share what works for you and leave space and encouragement for others to lean into what works for them...cause it might not be the same thing.
Shew. That's a lot for one day right? And on a freaking Monday, even. But, alas, we are not done yet. The Moon powers away all night long meeting Saturn by trine at 10:38 PM. What I'm noticing from Saturn is a call to re-script, re-write and consistently re-define your back story. With this comes memories and recurring themes to draw your attention to patterns that have a tendency to repeat in your life. With the memories we may come to a point of re-experience giving us an opportunity to look at that road we have already traveled and glean wisdom from it while also revisiting perhaps some remorse or regret at the same time. Learning from the experience and gathering wisdom and acknowledgment of repeating life themes really comes in handy. Because, newly armed with this wisdom when the thing comes back around again we will be wiser orchestrators of our decisions because we've got experience that tells us whether or not how we handled it the first time was effective or not. Don't beat yourself up over this stuff. It's done. Stick a fork in it and learn from it at the same time. Take a detached view of the situation and view it in the frame of wider perspective. That's why you are remembering it...not to beat yourself up over it...but to become wiser and more learned due experience. So, keep that at the forefront of your agenda. With that, you may have to deal with the PTSD-like symptoms that accompany those memories. So, doing whatever you need to do in order to cope with that effectively first is a priority.

Overnight, the Moon and Venus are at odds producing a bit of discomfort. There's a bit of tossing and turning that may occur. Maybe we ate too much of the wrong thing and our bellies ache as a result or maybe there is a just a general malaise/discomfort that prevents us from sleeping well. Again, deliver onto yourself what you need and try to rest. As the Sun crowns the morning, the Moon is square Pluto (7:15 AM)...so yeah, it's a dark and ominous sunrise within the emotional body. Hungry. Folks likely wake up ravenous and yearning. We are talking Mars stationing direct in Scorpio...so, yeah...this feeling is a thing we will contend with not only under this Lunar movement. The hunger. The yearning. The desire for satiation. It's building right now.

Tuesday, June 28, 2016

Where's the beef? Well, our vegetarians might not be asking this. But, we meat eaters very well might be. This morning we wake up to the Moon square Pluto (7:15 AM) which could have us all ravenous. We are looking for energy sustaining fuel. Reach not for the sugary sweet. Reach for what is going to stick with you and help keep energy levels on an even keel. Mars' station is a factor today and will remain so for the next few as he settles into his new direction. He is inconjunct Uranus still. So, no need for a lot of stimulating chemicals that could add to that “anxious” feel...especially not today under an Aries Moon who will cross through this inconjunct this evening (6:27 PM). Her conjunction with Uranus occurs at 8:13 PM.

Not many are talking but rather wrestling with deep personal issues. The morning is mostly quiet due this. However, this evening the volume is likely turned up as catalytic events likely occur under Moon/Uranus. Nerves are likely on edge from early afternoon forward as the Uranian energy waxes. Again, cutting down on stimulants helps. Drinking water helps as does moving about to discharge some pent up physical energy. Don't be afraid to break routines and don't be surprised if some of those routines are broken without your consent. It's Uranus. He does stuff like that. Go with it as it is usually futile to resist in the first place.

Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Overnight the Moon met Mercury by sextile at 3:48 AM. Dreams were busy. Following this, the Moon met with Void status until entering Taurus at 6:05 AM. Emotional systems level out and become a little more grounded. This morning and well into the evening are aspect free and rather event-less. However, finally, after months and months of waiting Mars stations direct in Scorpio at 7:19 PM.
Remember what I said on Monday. Celebrate his turn around, yes. But, move forward under an air of caution. Stretch. Don't try to do things all at once. Keep your pace set on slow but diligent. Don't take off running just yet...slow re-introduction of activity is called for.

Shortly following Mars' official station, Mercury leaves Gemini for the nostalgic waters of Cancer. This is followed by a nice sextile between the Moon and Sun in Cancer at 8:30 PM. The aim is to fill our belies full of warm goodness and to feel nicely satiated and comfortable when we great our beds tonight. We look for comfort foods. Creature pleasures. The sanctuary and security that comes with home. If you are traveling and away from home, you may crave recreating things that create a homey atmosphere.

Tonight we are gently cradled in our slumber by a lunar sextile to Neptune (2:00 AM) followed by a lunar sextile to Venus in Cancer in the morning. It's a good night for sleep. No peas under the mattress. Fresh clean smelling sheets makes it even better and a little spritz of Taurean kryptonite (aka: lavender) on your pillows goes a loooong way in supporting a peaceful night's sleep. Getting up in the morning is something we are likely going to resist. But, resting tonight is likely not much of a struggle.

Thursday, June 30, 2016

Even if we resist getting up early this morning, our solid night's rest pays off today. At 9:19 AM the Moon is in a sturdy Earth trine with Pluto. This is followed by a hearty Earth trine to Jupiter in Virgo (10:21 AM). Many are ready to kick some clean up or wrap up projects in the teeth. This is a “put your head down and plow” aspect that can be used to accomplish quite a bit.

However, by 8:20 PM the Moon squares off with our Mars newly direct in Scorpio still lingering on that 23rd degree. We could likely feel in our muscles that we plowed a little too much under the endurance filled Earth trines. We realize that we can't do it all in one day and there is a bit of a tug of war between what we feel like we need to do and what we are obligated to do. Some ambiguity there. Look, one step at a time. Celebrate the progress you made today. Realize there will be opportunity to progress more but you need to take care of your body first. That should be your first priority as your body is your number one piece of machinery. It's ok. Lay your tools down for the night. Replenish yourself with solid food and get some rest.

The element of “yearning” does permeate the day under waxing aspects from the Moon to Mars and Venus to Pluto. The opposition of Venus to Pluto perfects at 11:29 PM. Hunger. Yearning. Desire. On the ugly side? Controlling efforts. Subservient snakey behavior. Folks that go sideways to get what they want...theft, trickery, abuse, manipulation and infidelity. Temptations run VERY VERY strong under this sky. The better use of the energy is to ensure that your hunger and craving is not controlling you. Make sure you are not owned by your possessions or desires. Work to whittle away at debt. Repay outstanding favors. Donate items to charity. Pool resources with trusted contacts. Deepen existing relationships. Sex, romance, seduction, being hand fed chocolate covered strawberries? Yep, definitely fits the bill. See there is a polarity here that when balanced out isn't all bad. But, yeah, there is a chance for snakey behavior all day. Be wary of that and while you have your radar up check yourself at the same time. Paranoia and a fear of someone else gobbling up all the cookies before you get your share are also factors. Relax. We can make more cookies. I'll even let you lick the spoon from the fresh batch.
By midnight the Moon is sextile Chiron and reaches Void status until entering Gemini at 7:46 AM. The Moon is small...a mere sliver and the night is dark. Sink into the smooth velvet of that if you can. Today is earmarked for deep indulgences but it could also carry an air of danger due to someone else's out of control lust for power or what have you. Be careful and aware out there. But, indulge safely as you can. Watch out for vampires and the ghosts of your romantic past...both could be bursting forth from their graves.

Friday, July 1, 2016

This morning the Moon re-activates in Gemini. The day is much lighter than what we experienced yesterday until we reach our overnight hours and the Moon crosses through the squishy quicksand of the Saturn/Neptune square.

In the meantime, though, we are chatty and light. Venus feels a little better as she moves away from her opposition with the Dark Lord Pluto and toward a more supportive sextile with Jupiter in Virgo (3:19 PM). Little lighter. There is a nice satisfying grounding affect and we are given opportunity to put our priorities back into proper order. Plus, it's a great aspect for cleaning the heck out of your nest. The Moon is still waning and like it or not, cleaning and clearing is highly effective work under this sky. As you clear your environment you also declutter your energy field and benefit from the open airiness of that. We may, even, harvest the first few glories from our little home veggie gardens today. So, that's nice. But, nesting and cleaning something are probably the easiest uses of this energy.

The Moon passes by Saturn in opposition at 2:04 AM and squares Neptune at 3:26 AM. This is deep enough into the night that most of us may luck out and sleep through it. But, it is like a wet blanket laying over our emotional systems. It can be depressive, remorseful and all that could be wrapped in uncertainty. Don't struggle. If you need to cry; then, cry. If you need to work through grief; then work through grief. Just don't beat yourself up needlessly. Know that, yeah, the road ahead is not absolutely clear but you can handle it. You've made it this far...and you didn't make it this far by laying awake all night allowing yourself to succumb to worry. Try to get some rest. Chances are, things look much more clear in the morning. Also, it is the entrance to a holiday weekend in the US. If you are drinking, DO NOT BE DRIVING. For one thing, there is a really good chance you are going to end up with regretful consequences under this Lunar t-square. For another, it's just bad practice...dangerous, irresponsible bullshit, frankly. Call a cab.

Saturday, July 2, 2016

This morning, we may feel a little hung over due the Moon's recent contact with Neptune. We don't jolt out of bed but, rather, arise slowly. By noon, the Moon is harshly reminded by Jupiter in Virgo (square at 12:17 PM) to DO YOUR CHORES before you play. Oh. Bother.

But, by later this evening we are done with all that and ready to venture out for some fun! The Moon in Gemini meets rowdy and rambunctious Uranus in Aries at 11:44 PM. Remember that one friend that always had the most wonderful ideas about the next way you could get into trouble? Yeah, that was fun, right? Don't be afraid to let your hair down a little and relax this evening. Socialize. LAUGH. Shake some of the dust off. Most won't be calling it an early night. Enjoy the lighter air and make the most of it.
Overnight, the Moon squares Chiron and if you've celebrated a bit too much you are likely going to feel it about then (1:25 AM). However, the Moon is Void following this. She reactivates in Cancer at 9:21 AM tomorrow. Psst, the Sun is waxing toward Neptune due to perfect at 7:02 AM...folks may not be as they initially appear. Check your beer goggles.

Sunday, July 3, 2016

Every year around the 4th of July in my neck of the woods, there is a thick foggy haze that settles in. There is typically humidity and rain. Plus, the air becomes smokey with all the fireworks and barbecues and what have you. I expect this year to be no different and we will likely notice it today as the Sun is in a steamy trine with Neptune as we attempt to wake this morning. It could very well be raining in quite a few areas. Either way, we are not inclined to bolt from our beds...but perhaps linger there a little longer than usual.

The Moon slowly saunters into Cancer at 9:21 AM...and that's pretty much it for the day. It's a good day to linger around in your PJ's and not do much at all. Maybe catch up on some movies or just lounge around lazily. Not very ambitious. And that's alright. I could seriously get down with some comfortable R&R on a Sunday...couldn't you? Well, here's your ticket. Get comfortable and rest up. We wake up tomorrow to a fresh New Moon. You are gonna want to be rested so you can start writing on that clean slate that you've been de-cluttering all week.

Morning Star: Astrology for the week of June 20 to June 26, 2016

Monday, June 20, 2016

Happy Full Moon in Sagittarius! And, later this evening, Happy Birthday Cancer! Today we wake up to a blossoming Full Moon at 7:03 AM. This Full Moon calls a halt to Gemini season and ushers the Sun into Cancer at 6:35 PM. Our Sagittarius Moon is Void only briefly following the Full Moon. She enters Capricorn at 7:55 AM. Before Gemini season concludes, however, Mercury has a few final tricks up his sleeve.

At 10:56 AM he is opposing Saturn. Perhaps he is getting reprimanded. Perhaps he is giving or being given directions or orders. Either way the conversation is not playful but work oriented. By 1:12 PM, Mercury has changed his story and is veiling the truth. Perhaps it was those martinis he had a lunch that is causing his speech to slur. Either way, as the Moon opposes Venus in Cancer at 2:52 PM, it could be time for a nap. Facts are delivered in our morning but information is blurred and confusing by early afternoon. Watch for misinformation and verbal misunderstandings. Then watch for a push and pull between finishing up your work day and a desire to just go home and relax with the Moon/Venus opposition.

Our evening is likely fairly quiet. As we lay our heads down for the night, a waxing sextile from the Capricorn Moon to Neptune in Pisces cradles us in comfortable slumber. This aspect perfects in our early morning of tomorrow but helps us get some much needed rest tonight.

Tuesday, June 21, 2016

We awake gently and slowy this morning under the influence of Moon/Neptune. However, by midday our eyes are bright and wide. We are deeply involved with the details of our work as the Moon in Capricorn trines Jupiter in Virgo (2:00 PM). Our good night's rest has served us well.

The details of the tasks before us become intricate as the Moon meets Pluto by conjunction at 3:17 PM. This aspect can also catalyze paranoia and desire to control not to mention displays of forcefulness wrapped in potential emotional manipulation. It's dark. But, it's best used to really get down to the nitty gritty of tasks at hand. It's also great for cleaning out those gross dark corners that we have been avoiding (either literally or within our emotional body). Either way, it's a day set up for detail work and industriousness.
We may fall asleep easily. But, there is a chance that we are awakened early for one reason or another as the Moon first finds Mars by sextile at 4:04 AM followed quickly by a lunar square to Uranus at 4:58 PM. Tomorrow morning starts early and with a bang. Try to turn in early tonight in case your slumber is rudely cut short.

Wednesday, June 22, 2016

This morning may have been a bit unsettled. Many are grumpy gusses in the early part of the day. Jumpy. Nervous. On edge. Frazzled. Reactive. Or, just plain “over it.” Following the lunar Mars/Uranus interaction, the Moon in Capricorn finds Chiron by sextile at 7:22 AM. From here, the Moon is Void until entering Aquarius at 4:08 PM.
“Give a damns” are breaking left and right but there are a few unaddressed pains hiding in our emotional sphere even if we are prone to deny or avoid them.

The Aquarius Moon lightens the mood a little. Then, Mercury tries to help with a jovial square to Jupiter at 6:59 PM. Well, I say jovial because it's Jupiter. However, Jupiter in Virgo can be a nit picky critic too...advising our student Mercury of all his wrong answers or nit-picking away at methods he used to find the right answers. Stories can be exaggerated for entertainment purposes on the positive end of this. If you swing the energy just right (not opting for the stoic criticism of Virgo) but opting for a little humility and good humor; then, laughter can become the best medicine. The night could end on a more social and light note if you can retain your ability to laugh at yourself a little. Let the potential angst of the early morning become a distant memory.

Thursday, June 23, 2016

This morning pretty much operates as per typical. Things go as planned. Routines uphold. The Moon in Aquarius is waxing toward a grounding sextile with Saturn which perfects at about 1:30 PM. The morning is fairly settled, predictable and stable. This feel carries out through the rest of the day as it is without major aspect.
Did you hear that? It's a normal humdrum day! Where the heck have those been? Let's monopolize the crap outta that!

Even though the day is largely uneventful by tonight our brains may be spinning with a lunar trine to Mercury waxing in late (1:49 AM). Maybe we are up late debating solutions to all the world's problems with a friend on the phone. Maybe we are just entertaining a lot of new ideas and potentials. Maybe the quiet of the night sets the stage to sink into our enticing new book. Either way, the brain is a busy and eager place. Good conversations have room to happen. It may, however, take a bit to get our mouths and circuitry settled enough so that we can actually get some sleep. As a Pisces Moon, I worry about the quality of sleep. If you don't, then stay up all night talking. I don't care. Just don't wake me up.

Friday, June 24, 2016

Alright, by mid-morning we may regret not getting enough sleep last night. The Aquarius Moon squares off with sluggish swampy Mars at 10:27 AM. Let me tell you something. While Mars is stationed it feels like anything physical is compounded by a feeling of wearing concrete boots or something. It's not like you can just rush out to the grocery store or whatever. It's more like you have to push your car through the mud in the swamp to get to the store. Then, get out and wade through more mud to get from your car to the store. Then, you choose a cart that weighs 50 lbs more than it should and it feels like you are pushing it through wet cement. Everything...everything...feels as if you have to push extra hard to accomplish anything even if it is something simple. This lunar square comes in and adds a bit of frustration and ambiguity to our mundane daily tasks. The slog is there regardless. The square just makes it more of an irritating issue. Our asses are draggin a bit, in other words. And, the demotivation that comes with that may just lead us to doing nothing. But, if we decide to do anything, we should a lot more time than usual and set our paces deliberately on plod. Trying to rush or being pushed to rush is just going to add angst to the mix. Take your time or take a break.

Things begin to feel a little lighter around lunchtime as the Moon finds her current ruler, Uranus by sextile at 11:49 AM. We drop the hold on some of our frustration and have a chance to air our grievances to friends and acquaintances. There is chance to commiserate or just lighten up a bit.
From here, the Moon is Void until entering Pisces at 10:32 PM. The angsty frustrated feel of the morning has worn us out. We likely sleep soundly tonight as the lunar element of crackling air gives way to lunar water...quenching us, relaxing us, encouraging us to just go with the flow of the energies we have at hand. This watery feel permeates our morning tomorrow with a water-colored trine from the Pisces Moon to the Cancer Sun. Saturday begins with a flowy easy more relaxed feel. We can all look forward to that.

Saturday, June 25, 2016

Water, water, every where. With the exception of a square from our Pisces Moon to Saturn at 6:55 PM, today is majorly flowy. We begin with the Sun/Moon water trine I mentioned at the end of yesterday's write up. From there we move into a BEAUTIFUL water trine with Venus in Cancer at 3:56 PM. This is followed by a “lay on the beach a minute and dry out” Moon/Saturn square. Then, the Moon is fully engulfed by Neptune through conjunction at 7:47 AM.

Alright, let's take your ambitions and put them in a box in the closet for today. When you wake up, declare that you will gently follow wherever the gentle waves may take you. If you drift into a nap, lovely. If you spend the day lounging on the water, perfect. If you laze around in your PJ's eating strawberries and sipping wine while you catch up on your Netflix playlist, sweet. If you manage to make it to that new seafood restaurant you've been wanting to try, wow...what an accomplishment that you managed to get up, get dressed and get out. You deserve a medal or something.
Earmark today for rest and relaxation and gentle...doesn't take much energy and preparation...entertainment. Drink water. Play in the water. Sit next to the water. Get lost in playful creative ventures. But, most of all, relax and float.

Overnight the Moon opposes Jupiter in Virgo (3:37 AM). Dreams are rich, active and packed full of symbolism. Keep your dream diary close. Plus they pull out cues from deep within our psyche as a lunar sextile to Pluto follows the Jupiter opposition at 3:40 AM.

Sunday, June 26, 2016

This morning we wake up to a rich and Earthy trine from Jupiter in Virgo to Pluto Rx in Capricorn at 8:02 AM. You know what that means right? It's time to fertilize and feed the garden. It may be time to hoe around a bit too. LOL, I mean with a real garden hoe...to remove weeds, folks. In everyday life, this equates to paying attention to what is sprouting in your life. It's been a difficult growing season this year. So, if something is sprouting, you need to pay extra special attention to it and make sure it is well fed and cared for. Sprouting was NO easy task. Therefore, pay homage to any growth you notice.
This powerful Earth trine provides integrity, endurance and an ability to assess the most minute details.
However, our pace should still bear in mind the condition of our current Mars...stalled out. It still feels as if it takes more energy to accomplish even the most simple of tasks (though the Jupiter/Pluto trine does help a little). This point is driven home when the Pisces Moon meets our debilitated Mars by trine at 3:15 PM. Keep your task list in hand but go with the flow. Don't rush. Don't push yourself. Just keep puttering away at an unpressurized flowy pace. Don't become frustrated if you don't accomplish as much as you wanted. Be pleased with yourself if you are able to make any kind of progress because that feat alone was met with trudging.

Ugh, chattery distraction finds us around 4 PM as our quiet Pisces Moon bumps into Mercury in Gemini by square. Put your earbuds in and flow your pace to music to offset the twitchiness that can come as a result of this. We could experience headaches. Bored children. That friend that wants to chat on the phone for hours distracting us from our tasks at hand. Either way, the volume may be too loud, too up tempo and too abrasive for our liking under a Pisces Moon. Thankfully, though, it is a quick moving aspect. Things quiet down...for a minute. At 6:56 PM the Moon is Void following a conjunction with Chiron. Many call a halt to the day right here. However, by 10:32 PM your phone is ringing as Mercury in Gemini finds Uranus in Aries by sextile. Chatty, chatty or the brain spins out with ADHD like symptoms spinning from one idea to the next to the next. Thoughts are clear and prominent. Write them down. But, know this may make getting a good night's sleep a little difficult. That fact is exacerbated if you dumped a lot of hyping up chemicals in your body earlier in the day. So cut the coffee, soda and sugars off early today to combat this potential. And, if you can't sleep, you might as well just get up and do something to discharge this anxious mental energy. However, if brilliance waxes in through this, write those wonderful ideas down. They might be useful one day. Those lightning flash realizations have a tendency to disappear just as quickly as they appeared.
The Moon remains Void until entering Aries at 3:08 AM tomorrow morning.

Morning Star: Astrology for the week of June 13 to June 19, 2016

Monday, June 13, 2016

This morning, we wake up under a still active Libra Moon. The big news of the day, though, comes from other fronts. First, Venus (our Moon's current ruler) meets Mars Rx by inconjunct at 11:39 AM. This little sideways poke is a primer for Venus' square to Chiron that comes in later (5:15 PM). It allows us to see the ways in which we act that aren't truly supportive of ourselves or our ability to maintain relationships with others. Then, when Venus finds Chiron, we are given opportunity to assess how these sometimes “knee-jerk-like” reactions manifest in the first place. It is ouchy. But, a veil is dropped (Neptune stations RX at 1:28 PM) for us to gather information in this regard. I suggest you monopolize upon it. Meaning, though it is ouchy, honestly stare it down. Gather all the information you can about it and if you discover a method that isn't working...change it. I do expect this to be emotionally affective and highly personalized. We are talking Chiron here. And, the ruler of our current Moon. However, vows to change our methods (how we handle things of value not to mention our ability to be resourceful) in order to build more supportive relationships both within and without are well supported as Venus is also waxing toward a sextile with Uranus as we march through this week. So, keep that in mind.

Of course, under a Libra Moon, we may feel inclined to don the smiley mask as we deal with other people. But, under the surface we have this Venus poking going on that may make that difficult. In wordly expression, this set of aspects could deal a lot with things like climate change, recycling or upcycling, a need to be resourceful and re-use more than we purchase and pollute. PLUS, issues in regard to social justice and factors of social welfare will be quite prominent under this sky. All relationships are up for grabs here including our relationship with ourselves, our planet, others, our enemies, our money, our job...all of it...plus the roles we portray within those relationships.
Thankfully, the Moon is positioned in a waxing sextile with Saturn in Sagittarius which perfects at 9:26 PM. This is where the call for self-honesty comes in. Plus, Saturn Rx holds the Moon accountable for her own emotions. Reminding her that they are hers to deal with and not burdens to be cast upon everyone around her. It also reminds our Libra Moon of her tendency to project AND her ability to project. That's right. We'll find that some of these more negative tendencies that come from the sign of Libra have their proper time and place as Jupiter enters Libra in the fall. If you can receive projection then you can also project self more astutely and deliberately. What this means is instead of absorbing what is thrown upon you, you can push from your core and more strongly project a solid sense of self. If they project upon you saying “you are this this or that” it is possible to push right back by being yourself more “loudly.” Ultimately, this can change the situation. Get good enough at it and you can infect an entire room with your peacefulness...leading (not manipulating) the emotional atmosphere. Mirroring...reflecting how a person is presenting themselves to you or using the concept of smiling at someone and getting that smile mirrored back also has its time and place. Being aware of how you mirror (and if you do) is another thing. All this is good practice.

The Sun meets Uranus by sextile in our wee morning hours (3:54 AM). Not great for sleep. But great for a jump start into our Tuesday. Change, personal evolution/revolution, a desire to consciously become that higher more true version of ourselves without abandon finds us. It's an inspiring and innovative aspect giving firmness to elements of self that may have been squishy and uncertain as the Sun passed through the mutable cross. Here, the truth of ourselves is found and we proudly wave it. We may be too excited to sleep and more eager to rush out and just let our freak flags fly on parade. There's only one little problem with that.

The Libra Moon meets Pluto and Uranus harshly tomorrow. Meaning, some of our independent flair and our pushes for personal freedom are going to be met with resistance...some folks may want us to scoot back into the boxes they have put us in. Some may even try to forcibly push you there. You may even find yourself a bit uncomfortable in the face of someone's unusual behavior perceiving it as a threat to your relationship with them. However, the truth is the truth. When people show you who they are it's best to believe them. Just know this whole ordeal is a packaged type of thing. It comes with an ability to foster a stronger more honest sense of self when dealing with others. But, that doesn't mean that this more honest version of yourself is going to be widely accepted. Acts perceived as “out of character” makes folks nervous sometimes. That's the risk you take. You have to evaluate which is worth more to you. Being able to express yourself freely? Or being the person that everyone likes you to be? I know which way I typically fall on that dynamic. I have Sun conjunct Uranus in Libra in the 10th house. I call it my “Popeye” configuration as in, “I yam what I yam and screw you if you don't like it”...so. But, this is a personal thing. It wafts over everyone differently and in that, you have to make those decisions on your own which boils down to priority and balance between self and the collective.

Tuesday, June 14, 2016

Ok. Bear in mind everything I said at the end of yesterday's reading because it feeds directly into what we are dealing with today. There is STILL call toward self-honesty and pure expression of self. However, there is also a call toward balance as we realize in accepting and expressing ourselves we also 1) are NOT alone on this planet and what we do impacts others and 2) if we have license to be ourselves...so does everyone else. Meaning, we should allow and encourage this instead of be afraid of it when it doesn't align with who and what we find ourselves to be. People can and should be different. Still yet, honest self expression doesn't give you a license to be an asshole. So if you think your highest most honest self expression is to go out on a shooting rampage (not that you would be reading this) then, check yourself into the nearest institution; because, you've got it all fucked up, dude. So, while finding your true self and leaving room for others to do the same, also bear in mind how this expression of self truly serves a supportive collective agenda...or not. You know? Either way, the focus should be more on YOUR behavior rather than your neighbor's.
This morning the Libra Moon squares off with Pluto (6:27 AM) which could foster a deep need for control over outer circumstances (including a need to control others) and certain abuses of oppressive power.

The rest of the day the Moon waxes toward an opposition with Uranus in Aries (8:33 PM). This is where the call to balance true self against how it serves and impacts the collective is met with punctuation. It's also the part where Eris rolls her ball and the essence of the truth of a person's character emerges for better or worse. Catalyzing situations occur. Emotions are stretched and strained. Emergent situations may happen and in that split second...a glimmer of the truth of who you are peeks out.
However, shortly after, the Moon also meets the Gemini Sun by trine (9:58 PM) showing us there is a seat for everyone in the classroom...even the smelly kid. The balancing of freedom of self-expression and relationships (and how they are impacted by this) along with the honest personal assessments pay off.
At 3:01 AM we are dreaming of new ideas and of making new friends. There are likely gatherings of support sprinkled across the globe. Good conversations. Appreciation of differences and personal nuance cradle us under a lunar trine to Venus in Gemini. Following this trine, the Libra Moon is FINALLY Void. She has had a busy three days! She remains Void until entering the depths of Scorpio tomorrow at 9:19 AM.

Wednesday, June 15, 2016

Early this morning, the Moon is Void in Libra. She awakens in mourning in Scorpio at 9:19 AM. Today, is subdued and quite introspective in comparison to how this week started out. We are quiet and contemplative. We may also feel a bit of remorse and emotional waters may, indeed, intensify as the day moves forward.

The Sun finds Chiron by square at 5:36 PM. That's where regret/remorse comes in. It's also where we meet face to face with the ways in which we may hobble or hinder ourselves.
Adding to the emotionality factor is the Moon waxing into trine with Neptune which is due to perfect early tomorrow morning. We are sensitive and, perhaps, humbled (maybe even hobbled in the face of illness) in a way. Let me put this another way. We are MORE sensitive to our environment today than usual. That may call for a bit of withdrawal from external interaction in an effort to self-preserve and deal with ourselves. Just know this is an Universal issue. So, folks may be a little punchy...a little more reactive and may get their feelings hurt more easily than usual. You may be one of those people.
Your main focus needs to be directed at self-care. A friend of mine reminded me not too long ago that in moments like this it is quite beneficial to “feed your own moon.” That points toward individualized self-care and leaning into what you know works for you. Do it now. Don't wait. It's that important and there aren't many chances to stop and take a breath this week. Where is your Moon? What makes you feel better? What soothes you and brings you comfort? Whatever your answer lean fully into those things today.

Seeing that BOTH the Sun and the Moon are highly sensitive, on a mundane level, this could literally equate to contracting a communicable illness or even an exacerbation of allergens or allergic reactions (particularly skin/respiratory allergens like poison ivy and/or pollens)...not to mention exacerbation of mental illness and emotional difficulties. Plus, the risk for anaphylaxis is actually fairly high. So, take proper measures to boundary up and be wary of this potential. I don't think I know anyone who WANTS to be infected. Drink plenty of water. Wash your hands and if the plant is shiny and has leaves of 3...don't...touch...it!

Thursday, June 16, 2016

This morning starts out watery and sluggish as the Moon in Scorpio trines Neptune at 9:40 AM. In the beginning of this day we should bear in mind the need for flow and boundaries. But, searching the emotional depths is highly indicated and proves to be worthy as the day moves forward.
By 4:22 PM the Moon is in sextile to Jupiter in Virgo while also waxing into sextile with Pluto in Capricorn (7:04 PM). Yeah...on the negative end a person could seriously eviscerate themselves. However, on the high end, our self honesty breeds self acceptance and an awareness of how we can more assertively be ourselves and become supportive players in the re-build of our current social structure. We all have roles to play. It's important that you find and recognize your own even if it ends up being something really, really simple...because, it likely is.

There is a bright spot here. But, it's a humble bright spot that has the potential to show us both how we are impacted by collective energies and how we also influence and contribute to them. Sounds complicated. But, your powers of observation will be quite astute here. Put them to good use...listening more than you speak while also listening to your inner voice/guidance system at the same time.
It's also a good day to get your hands dirty and really get down to the nitty gritty in regard to assessing the details of what it is you are trying to accomplish while actually doing it. So, if you need to pull in focus upon what it is you are trying to do and suss out the details involved in getting there, today is your day. Plus, the Moon in trine to Neptune could birth some potential creative solutions to problems you have previously uncovered if you tap into that flow.

Friday, June 17, 2016

This morning, the Moon is a bit...explosive. We find her this morning in Scorpio conjunct Mars Rx (9:53 PM) and inconjunct Uranus, Eris and Ceres (9:15 AM). Now. For real, this doesn't sound like fun. However, there are ways to make the energy work more efficiently for you. First, take all violent and/or extreme options off the table. Now, realize that task before you calls for a unique approach. The same old solutions aren't going to cut it anymore. Brute force isn't exactly working right now. You are likely going to have to apply some inventive engineering. Improvise. Experiment with new methods. Do not fear a few failed attempts. Do not let frustration get the best of you. And, if this energy makes you so over stimulated that you cannot focus, then lay things down for awhile and physically move around to discharge some of it or call a time out for a nap. Find what works. There is certainly a call for resourcefulness and ingenuity here.

Lay off the stimulants (caffeine, sugar). Drink more water. This will help with the angst of Mars/Uranus. Keep your pace at steady and remain mentally engaged in whatever you are doing. Don't rush. Don't try to handle too much at once. Work smart not hard. Rushing, over multitasking, over stimulation and too many distractions is a mixture for being accident prone. So, be wary of that potential. Have you ever played the game Operation? Well, navigating this day is a lot like that game. Move very, very carefully and slowly while remaining intently focus on the task at hand.
By noon, the Moon is in a hollow trine with Chiron in Pisces and, then goes Void. A few hours later, Venus slips into Cancer. The Moon remains Void until entering Sagittarius at 9:35 PM.
Following the potentially catalyzing kick-start this morning, things settle down and we are able to mundanely address what is before us. Then, by this evening, we are ready to throw in the towel and go home to our creature comforts and the safe shelter of our home.

Meanwhile, tonight, Saturn Rx will perfect in square to Neptune Rx in Pisces at 11:31 PM. This energy has been building all week and is now coming to a crescendo. Boundaries disappear. Work vanishes. What is done becomes undone. Rules and laws are drawn from black and white and into a whole array of gray areas. Questions. There are lots and lots of questions and a bit of uncertainty. Our moral compasses go haywire...we aren't really sure what is “right” and “just” anymore. Roadways crumble. Water damage becomes apparent. Solid becomes soggy. But, at the same time, blocks on our path forward may dissipate. The shell around something may dissolve exposing its inner core. Things are so mushy and uncertain that the impossible, may indeed, come to fruition. Dreams can become reality. Creative ideas become tangible. This is an excellent set up for song writing, for example. Or, pottery making. Or, casting things in wet cement or plaster. It's also a good day to come up off your hard nosed stance on something and foster a bit of understanding/compassion/empathy for others and their situation. However, the lines on what is right and what is wrong are so blurred...what do you do when the rules and laws no longer apply? Are we headed for anarchy? Or, did you learn about and solidify in your brain what was really important under the Mercury retrograde period in Taurus. Can you refer back to then and remember what it is that you hold at personal priority? Are those things still important now? Then, act in a way that supports them and your future self. It's tricky. But, it can also be magical. It's just none of this happens through our own choice. It may feel as if it is being forced upon us because that's often how squares come forth. Bear in mind your pace...slow and steady. And, know that moral ground you stood so strongly upon in the recent past may be a bit muddy and uncertain on and off throughout this week and ESPECIALLY today. Reshape. Reform. Adapt. At the same time, with Saturn and Neptune both retrograde, harsh realities could be served up as well. That, my friends, weighs in with high potential ALL WEEK.

Saturday, June 18, 2016

Our Sagittarius Moon, who is becoming so full she seems as if she is ready to pop, is VERY active today. This morning, she lulls a bit. But by early afternoon, she is quizzing our Mercury in Gemini by opposition. Or, Mercury in Gemini is asking her a lot of questions that she may or may not be able to answer. Either way, the topics discussed here are full of unanswered questions. Nobody really has all the answers. However, we can theorize together. This could, however, turn into a battle of ideologies. It's best to balance out this opposition by both asking questions and then subsequently listening to the answers leaving space for everyone's point of view to be fully expressed in the VERY INTEREST of gathering information instead of aiming to draw a conclusion just yet. Realize there may not be just one right answer yet. Most situations call for a mufti-dimensional approach with varied solutions. We must collaborate for the answers rather than just simply feeling as if we have “right” all wrapped up all by ourselves. You aren't King of the World and neither am I. Therefore, we must collaborate to come up with solutions that support all of us instead of just being self-serving “in the moment.”

By 9:07 PM the seriousness of the decisions before us and the need to draw solid conclusion is felt as the Moon conjuncts Saturn. She squares Neptune at the same time. So, this pressure of “just answer the damn question” is met with uncertainty and gray areas again...this time becoming astutely emotionally affective due the Moon's direct involvement. You can't know what you don't know yet. There are no one size fits all answers.
The uncertainty wrapped up in this configuration could breed quite a bit of anxiety. I mean, makes me a little nervous too when the ground just starts shifting and disappearing under my feet as if I were standing in quicksand. However, Mars Rx in an exact inconjunct with Uranus doesn't help much. We are still in Gemini season. Mercury is in his home sign. Use it. Engage your brain. Think above and beyond and bring inventive solutions to long standing problems. Rise above being catalyzed and engage the higher mind...act wisely not quickly. How do you fight your way out of quicksand? You don't. If you are going to get out, you are going to have to play it smart. Struggling is only going to make you sink more quickly. That's not a good thing.

Sunday, June 19, 2016

Overnight, our Sagittarius Moon squared off with her current ruler, Jupiter in Virgo. Humility is doled out. Organizational methods kick in. Sorting through the chaos is called for. Triage and serve. Plus, there is a chance for over criticism and a feeling of having all the answers. Trust me, you don't. No one does. Emotional matters can be blown out of proportion here and with a big bright Moon to boot, that's a quite likely scenario...so feel free to scale it back a little taking a more settled and practical approach.
The rest of the day, we may feel like venturing out and away from this messy bunch of goo as the Moon trines Uranus at 8:11 PM. Folks are ready to break free of cumbersome. Shake the dust off. Do something new. Gather your friends and lean into social support networks. Don't just sit around and contemplate answers. Pitch in and help. Volunteer efforts aimed at social service are a stellar expression of this energy. Get up and out of the swamp and move around a bit.

At 10:47 PM the Moon is square Chiron and we are astutely reminded of why “this” hurts so much. It's a hollow pain. A humbling pain. One without much understanding.
Then, first thing in the morning, our second Full Moon in Sagittarius for the year pops. Occurring tomorrow at 7:03 AM at 29 Sagittarius 33. Gemini season ends with a BANG! The Moon is then Void until entering Capricorn 50 minutes later. Rest up, if you can, and prepare to rise within this climax in the morning.

The Sabian Symbols for this Full Moon read as follows:

SUN AT 30 GEMINI: A parade of bathing beauties before large beach crowds. Use of individual vanity in raising racial standards. Examination of intellectual values for use in the soul life.

MOON AT 30 SAGITTARIUS: The Pope is holding audience in a hall of the Vatican. Wealth of spiritual resources which can be tapped for the glorification of every relationship. Concrete form of ideals.

One thing. We you rise in the morning feeling as if you have just been baptized, be mindful of what you say. Know words carry weight and know the information you deliver should be wrapped in well-considered truths. Mercury stands off by opposition to Saturn followed by a square to Neptune right after the Full Moon. Your preaching of personal truths is likely to be met with a lot of questions. So, be prepared for that or keep your mouth shut and listen to the question/answer session. We are all positioned to learn a thing or two.

Morning Star: Astrology for the week of June 6 to June 12, 2016

Monday, June 6, 2016

Today, looks a lot like an Astrological break. We have been dealing with a lot of storms...both metaphorically and literally. Today, though, looks as if we may have a break of sunshine and, perhaps, even a nice gentle breeze.
This morning we wake up to the Moon in Cancer. Her first aspect waxes in at 7:48 PM—a trine to Neptune. Now. Neptune has just been floating around out there lately. We've plenty of other energies to grab the Astrological presses. Sure, he is part of ongoing mutable square along with Saturn and Jupiter. But, Neptune is always underestimated. Folks typically forget about him until he starts dissolving their chart (and life) by transit across a period of several very slow, very confusing years. Yes. It happens. This week, however, it is not a good idea to underestimate Neptune nor any aspects to the God of the Seas. Why? Because he is stationing retrograde. We've had enough experience with retrogrades lately to understand that when a planet is at a station point, it becomes an issue. Therefore, expect the power of Neptune to be an issue this week. He officially turns Rx at 12 Pisces on June 13th (next Monday) at 1:28 PM. He'll likely be fogging things up for a bit until he settles into his new direction. Today, as the Moon finds him by trine, he is lingering steadfast on the exact degree/minute upon which he will officially turn Rx next week. So...he ain't moving. At all. For a bit. Expect haze and fog throughout along with potential pop-up storm systems.

This, indeed, sets a dreamy and subtle backdrop to our day overall. Emotions are flowy and we are quite sensitive. But, it's not harsh. It's gentle.
Prior to Moon/Neptune perfecting, but, affected by it's waxing (as this does affect our mood), Venus in Gemini catches up with the Sun by conjunction at 5:50 PM. This occurs at 16 degrees Gemini and, eventually, brings both the Sun (1:58 AM) and Venus (midnight) into an inconjunct with Pluto. What we have here is flowy, gentle breezes with a stir of depth underneath. On the surface, many are smiling and chatty...although not too focused on work or production. Yet, below the facade, we have true concerns stirring within our guts. Desire. Sun/Venus in Gemini is wonderful at distracting itself, though.
By 9:10 PM the Moon in Cancer is inconjunct Saturn which frames a bit of heaviness...reminding us there is still serious business to attend to as we are breezing about. This is followed by a sextile to Jupiter at 11:55 PM. This offers additional buoyancy but Jupiter in Virgo is fastidious. Here, he reminds us of daily chores and being able to find delight in the humble, simple and mundane. So, even though it is Jupiter and it is buoyant it is not this big sparkly affair. It casts more of a grounding and practical affect upon our Cancer Moon. It finds pleasure in things like line dried clothes. Hand washed dishes. Clean, fresh sheets. Simple. Clean. Supportive of fresh “feels” and littered with mundane accomplishments. Good food. Clean hands and light conversation fill the day. But...BUT...through out the surface appearance of the entire affair there is this elusive je ne sais quoi that whispers of a possibly dark and hidden desire..

“I love you as one loves certain dark things secretly. Between the shadow and the soul.” Pablo Neruda, 100 Love Sonnets.

Tuesday, June 7, 2016

Right before dawn, our Cancer Moon opposes Pluto in Capricorn (4:07 AM). Remember the depth stirring in our atmosphere yesterday that no one wanted to talk about? It's fresh on our minds as we wake up. A nearly magnetic need emerges. A pulling desire. A face off with the darkness. We have potential for power struggles, night mares...a heavy thickness that overlies the morning. Not a magical fog but more of a scary looming one.
The darkness of the morning could catalyze paranoia and a sense of dread. The waxing square from the Moon to Uranus perfecting at 3:21 PM doesn't help matters much. By then, we are jumpy...anticipating the other shoe to drop while we are also quite reactive within our angst.
Now, the best way to deal with all of this is to honestly face off with our shadow and our fears instead of running from them. We all have darkness. Acknowledgment of that darkness fosters an awareness. Denial of that darkness causes it to manifest without our own recognition. Be brave. Face it down.

Lunar aspects to Uranus by harsh aspect can be nerve wracking. To handle this effectively, I offer the standard advice of remaining grounded, cutting down on stimulation (too much media intake, caffeine, sugars) and definitely...definitely DO NOT forget to breathe. Whatever catalyzing or potentially emergent situation arises (if it does) your first response needs to be a small step back and a few very big, very deep breaths. In order to effectively deal with Uranus (the crackling electrical energy of the Universe) grounding and insulation is essential...just as if you were dealing with electricity in a circuit. We must absorb and consciously direct the shocks instead of allowing them to poke and prod us into merely reacting. And, you know what...it's hard as fuck. However, aiming for grounding, breath and rising above the immediacy of the situation to get a very clear view of the situation as a whole...deliberately taking the time to slow down and think things through...helps A LOT. As my grandfather always used to tell me (with Sun/Mars conjunct Uranus all trine Saturn), “The main thing is not to get excited.” We are cool, right? Ice water for blood. Chilled. Rattle our cages all you want. We will respond when we are ready and not before.

Taking the time to ask questions, breathe and think things through instead of just allowing a knee jerk reaction to occur sincerely pays off as the Moon meets Mercury in Taurus by sextile. This aspect reminds us of what is truly important and could deliver solid and factual evidence that aids in our decision making. Plus, it's grounding. Earth contains and directs water. The information/value set we find here helps to bring a bit of ease to our still electrified Moon. Get the facts. Remember what is really important. Then, as the Moon finds Mars Rx by trine at 8:19 PM you'll know just what you need to do..or not do, most likely.
Between the sextile to Mercury and the trine to Mars, the Moon also trines Chiron at 6:11 PM. The pain we know but are unable to quite put into words becomes a factor. There is opportunity here to learn why it is we react the way we do to triggers. There is also opportunity to accept that those triggers are there and learn to cope with them more effectively. However, denial of their existence is poison. Acceptance is the only thing that can help us deal more effectively. It calls for gentleness and self-honesty plus a desire to live more whole and integrated...more self-acceptance. But, it's subtle and highly personal. Stuff no one else can really point out or address for you. You can seek support and you may just find it. But, no one is going to understand why this is such a thing as well as you do no matter how much you try to explain it.
Following the trine with Mars, the Moon is Void until entering Leo at 2:49 AM. This Moon is likely going to feel much better here than while steeped in the watery moodiness we experienced in Cancer.

Wednesday, June 8, 2016

Our mood has shifted somewhat this morning with the entrance of the Moon into Leo. This is a good thing. Although, it could also herald a bit of narcissism...a tendency to get wrapped up in our own quite personal affairs and forget that there is a whole big wide world around us packed with people who have their own problems. The answer to that is to come outside of yourself a little. Be creative in your expression of emotions. Share. Help someone. Being deliberately gentle and kind to others is something that will help you realize that even though you struggle with personal demons, you are not alone in the struggle itself. We all have things to contend with. We call that life. So, don't go focusing too much on your own burdens that you forget there is more to life.

The Moon mostly fires away in Leo gently today. Her first aspect doesn't come until 1:31 AM..a grounding and settled trine with Saturn. We are grown and matured children looking at our future and determining a solid path forward. It's ok to dream positively and imbibe our work with creativity. Solid self expression that includes a deliberately fostered sense of joy can go a very long way. Be optimistic and playful. I double dog dare you.

Right before we lay our heads down for the night, Mercury does cross paths with Chiron by sextile (9:55 PM). Yep. The thing is still there...that elusive hollow pain. However, we learn a bit more about it...or have the opportunity to...and may be able to open up and talk about it a little more astutely under this aspect. It is what it is. Now...how can we deal? Sometimes the ability to communicate to others what we feel helps all by itself. Find a trusted/supportive friend (an elder or mentor figure even) and give it a shot.

Thursday, June 9, 2016

This morning we wake up to find the Moon still active in Leo. However, the aspect that is going to get the most press is Mercury in Taurus opposite Mars Rx in Scorpio at 1:01 PM. Now...lol...Mercury in Taurus is all common sense. It knows the middle ground and firmly stands on it. However, planets in Scorpio have trouble seeing anything but the extremes. So, of course there is a tug of war between thought and action. It seems so simple. But, we will have a tendency to make it complicated and forget that there are more possible solutions than kill or be killed. Yet, with Mars all screwy in his Rx status, there could be a feeling of impotence, as well. Inability to perform. Which leads to frustration. Which can lead to an internal tunneling of anger and self demoralization...in which we miss the forest for the trees. This aspect also carries a tendency to be accident prone. What we may see are car accidents, cut and/or burned hands, stubbed toes, head injuries...all stemming from either trying to get from point A to point B too quickly or mere distraction. Or, worst case scenario is we see extreme violence within the collective. Which I mainly see as a desperate act of swinging one's limp willy around for attention because it's not going to get attention any other way. Though, those limp frustrated willies can do some really crazy stuff in moments of frustration. So...watch out for that. Otherwise, keep it in your pants.

Move slowly and cautiously. Focus intently on whatever it is you are doing while handling one...thing...at...a time. This is NOT something that our current Gemini energy does naturally. So, it's likely to feel a bit tedious at times. However, clumsiness is a thing that could lead to injury today, folks. Keep swinging that limp willy around and you are going to run the risk of having it cut off. Just saying. Grounding helps, of course. But, the main thing is just slow down and pay attention to what you are doing. Look for the middle ground instead of getting lost in the extremes. Stay off the roller coaster and thrill rides today. Impish dares could become deadly. It's also not a good day for extreme sports. It IS however, a good day to safely practice and hone skills. This requires focus, of course. But, if we are practicing in a safe and sturdy environment while taking precautions then we could really sharpen our skill set just like all the great warriors do when they go for retreat. Another apt scenario, the hunter that holds himself motionless waiting for the exact, precise perfect moment. If that moment doesn't come, the hunter DOES NOT MOVE...but continues to wait with all his senses acutely awake but held steadily at bay. Slow, focused diligence Danielsan.

With a slow, diligent pace and a little common sense, the day starts to really, really take a more positive shape. At 1:42 PM the Moon in Leo plays nicely with the Gemini Sun. Childlike creativity and curiosity fill the atmosphere. This is followed by a relaxed and gentle sextile from the Moon to Venus in Gemini at 3:16 PM.
By nightfall, we are ready to fully cast our burdens aside and look optimistically toward the new days that promise to dawn in our future with a trine from the Moon to Uranus (9:35 PM). We could be a little antsy, like a child trying to sleep the night before a Disneyland trip. But, there is a difference between not being able to sleep because you are looking forward to something and not being able to sleep due dread...you know? Anticipation smacks on many lips tonight.
Odd fears and frustration do become factors as the Moon in Leo squares off with Mars at 1:39 AM. Pay attention to what fears and frustrations bubble up. But don't let them stomp your dreams. Heed the warnings; but, don't let fear stop you. This square does kick off a fixed t-square between Moon, Mercury (3:15 P) and Mars that hangs for a few hours overnight. The outlet...Aquarius...tall cool one. Chill. Do not fear change. Willingly take it on. Rise above any sense of angst and look way beyond to the big picture...intelligently respond instead of just impulsively reacting. Don't allow doubt to over-rule the optimism you so easily held earlier in the day.

Friday, June 10, 2016

This morning, the Moon in Leo is Void until entering practical and down to Earth Virgo at 9:47 AM. The fires of the last two days are merely smoking embers by now. The emotional body settles tremendously.

The Moon remains largely without major aspect throughout the day. Her first contact comes with an opposition to Neptune tomorrow morning. So, today is practical, fastidious, industrial and service oriented. We chunk through our task lists bit by bit and delve into mundane chores. Some may be prone to be grouchy and cynical under this sky. But the best use of this Moon is to keep your hands busy in simple work. We are mostly Steady Eddies prioritizing and grounding out what has seemed to be in quite a bit of flux for a few days. We deal. It's that simple. But, we deal quietly and humbly without a bunch of rush and fuss.

Saturday, June 11, 2016

Well. Yesterday clicked right on by. But, this morning we meet once again with the mutable cross. This morning begins with a lunar opposition to Neptune at 8:59 AM. We are rather slow to drag ourselves out of bed. However, a sense of responsibility and duty finds us as the Moon squares Saturn at 9:54 AM...regardless of how lax we feel, we realize that someone has to take care of the daily stuff.
Once we finally get up and convince ourselves to get moving, though, we could feel a bit better. The Moon meets Jupiter in Virgo by conjunction at 2:30 PM. This carries more potential to feel better if you can pat yourself on the back for chores completed. The chance to eviscerate yourself and nit-pick others comes if you let the weight of Saturn push you around. Be satisfied with whatever you managed to accomplish instead of focusing on what still needs to be done. Every little step counts and the steps you took this morning were done while wearing concrete boots...so, progress was well earned. You deserve your own recognition.
A little bit of progress encourages us to put our head down and focus upon achieving more...clearing more off our to do list while imbibed with tenacity, endurance and forbearance delivered by a nice “get down to the nitty gritty” trine from the Virgo Moon to Pluto in Capricorn (6:22 PM). Keep going. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. You are doing great.

This morning, the Virgo Moon is still active and just leaving a square with the Sun in Gemini creating the pressure that is our First Quarter Moon. The pressure, in this mixture, most likely comes from questions. Questions asked of us. Questions asked of ourselves. We've chosen a new direction so that means new territory and need to pause for a closer perspective while taking the time to prioritize. There is a lot of room for distraction. And, as the Moon also squares off with Venus at 7:27 AM, many of those distracting options seem quite enticing. How do you choose to love just one butterfly? How can you narrow things down to focus upon the flying flower you want most? Again, prioritization. List everything out in order of personal importance. And, then, take it on one step at a time. Enjoy the flush of butterflies...but choose only one to chase as your very own. Psst...”Butterflies” are used here metaphorically (might be hard to catch that under the literal Virgo Moon).

Mercury is definitely a factor today under a Mercury ruled Sun, Moon and Venus. Plus, Mercury is also due to switch constellations leaving the pastures of Taurus for his home territory of Gemini. Neptune is also a factor because...remember...he is still stationed preparing to turn retrograde tomorrow. So we are thinking and processing under a thick veil of uncertainty. Why? Because we've altered our course and our perspective. This is brand new territory. Dream up or down the potentials on the road ahead of you. But, realize when you make different decisions you get different consequences that often pack the unknown with them. That makes Virgo nervous. But, you can navigate it if you check worry at the door. Speaking of checking worry at the door, have you ever tried traveling with a Virgo? If so, then you know how the angst in my voice comes across when I type, “Yes, goddammit for the billionth time, I turned off the coffee pot, did what needed to be done to take care of the pets, checked the itinerary/reservations and packed the freaking toothbrushes already...let's just go!” Details are important but don't get lost in them and forget what it is you are trying to achieve overall. I love Virgo. But, my Pisces Moon thinks they worry about too much. I just want to get on the road and get to the beach. They are still worried about making sure everything is unplugged and all the details are lined up to perfection. Wears me out. But without them I'd likely skip over a lot of important stuff, like...locking the doors or checking the oil in the car before a long trip..so. But, let's not go overboard with the OCD stuff, k?

Flexibility in the midst of conscious self direction is called for. Ask questions. Gather facts. Deliberately check for deception and potential misunderstandings and redirect yourself to your chosen “true North.” A mission statement that you can revert to in an effort to help you maintain your sense of direction is called for. Then, questions and decision making become much easier. A basis of a sturdy belief system can guide you through anything that may seem unexpected. Sometimes, the unexpected occurs with good reason. Welcome it instead of fearing it.
As the Moon waxes toward her square with Venus, Mars Rx also meets Chiron in Pisces by trine. Put your effective coping mechanisms into practice. Remember there are more options than the extremes. Move gently and follow the flow. Keep narrowing down your options and honing your skills.

By 10:48 AM the Moon is wrapped up in a sextile with Mars as she opposes Chiron (10:52 AM) driving the whole need for effective coping mechanisms home. With Moon in Virgo and Mars in Scorpio we can dig deeply into the root causes of any elusive triggers or pains. We are to treat ourselves holistically...bearing in mind there is a person involved here...not just an illness or a pain. Our care plans need to be individualized and brought to priority. And, we haven't even made it to midday yet...
Following the opposition with regret-filled Chiron, the Moon is Void until entering Libra at 8:34 PM. We've plenty of time to dispassionately think things over and put them into category of importance.

In the meantime, our sparkling butterfly Venus is enlightened and enlivened by a sextile to Uranus at 11:13 AM and Mercury slips into his home territory at 7:23 PM. These movements delight our incoming Libra Moon. As a matter of fact, a nice chatty rendezvous with Mercury is the first punch on her dance card at 8:43 PM. Our Moon's ruler, Venus, is positioned nicely helping to add breeziness to our evening affairs. Things feel much lighter, for now. Enjoy that. However, though we are wearing a smiling face and we do feel a bit lighter, prepare for the veils to start dropping as Neptune officially turns retrograde tomorrow just prior to Venus squaring off with Chiron and the Moon battling it out with Uranus and Pluto. Don't worry about that so much today, though. Take things as they come and enjoy the break while it lasts. One. Day. One. Step. One little moment at a time. It feels like every step forward is a trudge. However, we only have 17 more days of Mars Rx. Keep up this swampy pace slowly and diligently. Be well positioned to shovel your way out of it in just a few weeks. Hang in there! There will be times when it feels like the end. And, it might be the end of something. But, every new beginning is something elses end. Don't. Quit. Now. Monopolize on any momentum you achieve and by all means, if you hit rock bottom...you CAN quit digging.
