Morning Star: Astrology for the week of January 31 to February 6, 2016

Sunday, January 31, 2016

This morning, the Moon is awake in Scorpio after a very long VOC passage through the final degrees of Libra yesterday. Her first aspect is a trine to Neptune at 3:58 PM which could make most of the day rather unambitious. We are more prone to relax than to power forward.
This is reinforced by a sextile from the Moon to Venus at 7:08 PM. Overall, the energy is easy. But, under a Scorpio Moon emotions run deep. And, with the waxing square from Mercury to Uranus, our minds are likely still spinning a little regardless of how relaxed the physical body may be.
At 10:28 PM, our last quarter Moon perfects between The Sun in Aquarius and Moon in Scorpio prompting us to recognize where changes need to be made in our lives and subsequently relinquishing our grip on the status quo. With that, there may be mourning, fear, and a feeling of being a bit out of control. All these can be agitating to our deep feeling Moon. But, the Aquarian Sun just beams it's icy glare and matter of factly says, “It is what it is.” As our earlier aspects from the Moon to Venus and Neptune encourage us to forgive, accept and let go.

The square from Mercury in Capricorn to Uranus in Aries occurs at 10:41 PM at 17 degrees Cardinal. This can equate to a sharp battles of tongues, nervousness, a tendency to be clumsy and accident prone. And, occurring between Cardinal signs, it is no light matter. Both entities believe they should be in control of the situation. Uranus in Aries is hell bent on revolt, revolution and change. But, Mercury in Capricorn is shouting at him to remember that even though change may be a good idea, we must also be mindful of our responsibilities and aware of how these changes (especially if made impulsively) affect the overall business of our lives. Whether this intellectual battle occurs within you or manifests in external conflict, the best advice I can give is to rise above any type of conflict that, in the end, isn't going to be resolved with a cutting come back. Wait out the catalyzing emotions and deal with them appropriately before you make a decision That way, your brain is clear, centered and better able to make the most effective decision instead of being poked and prodded until it merely reacts. Engage your higher intelligence instead of just popping off your shotgun mouth. As a peace-keeping Libra, that is my advice anyway. But, if you are in a situation where you need to verbally eviscerate someone, then...here you go. I just feel it's more effective to play smart than impulsive.
Let me give you an example of reacting impulsively and reacting smartly. Let's say you have a group of employees whose boss is abusive and has just laid the final straw on their tolerance camel. That camel's back broke in two. So, in a lull moment, one employee suggests, “You know, we should just walk out and leave him high and dry. What would he do then?” But, another employee responds with, “Why would you want to walk out now? We are not busy. I'd plan an mass exodus waaay in advance. I'd schedule about 50 people in the same time slot about a week from now..after all the dust has settled and this is forgotten. Then, when those 50 customers came trickling in..that's when I'd stand up and wave to surveillance cameras and blow a kiss bye bye. I mean, if you are going to to do it...go big or go home. Right? Plus, that leaves us all room to research a new job making sure our financial situation is taken care of before we go lighting fuses and end up causing collateral damage that affects us directly.” The impulse is to just make a swift and rebellious decision. The smart decision is to slow things down a little. Make an effective plan. Ensure your own protection and then follow through.
Of course the latter suggestion does carry an air of vindictiveness. The true “rise above” in that situation would be to decide that you no longer wanted to put up with your boss' abuse and, therefore, simply start looking for another job and leave after giving notice like a responsible adult while dismissing the call for smart assery and dramatics. That's the truly smart thing to do. But, what is life without a few flashbangs?

At any rate, I do encourage you to dismiss calls for vindictive acts of revenge. Instead, deal with your emotionally swirling body while you come up with a responsible plan to become more free and independent. There are sparks of brilliance that do come from Mercury/Uranus and they don't have to include plans for destruction. There are other options. Let the seething and tendency to self-punishment go and do what you need to do. Make intelligent decisions instead of the impulsive ones that run the risk of usurping you in the end. That's going to call for emotional control and forbearance which is delivered, without question, through the higher expression of the Scorpio Moon in conflict with the Aquarian Sun. I'm not saying that rising above and opting for an intelligent response is going to be easy. Oh, HELL no. It's much easier to just blow the thing to smithereens and walk away in a cloud of smoldering smoke. But, that isn't the path that will serve you the best in the end. Wait it out until you are thinking more clearly; but, note the sparks of brilliance as they come. They could come in handy later.
None of this late evening energy is very conducive to a restful night's sleep. Start preparing yourself for that in our early evening by cutting down on stimulant intake and unplugging from stimulating electronic devices early. This will help the mental body to wind down a bit and hopefully allow us to get a little rest even if the mind is still racing a little as we lay our heads on our pillows.

Monday, February 1, 2016

This morning, the Moon in Scorpio is conjunct Mars and we are either driven to kick today's work in the ass or we are still seething over the harsh verbal exchanges of last night. Usually sleeping on something makes a person feel better in the light of a new morning. But, in this instance, we could very well wake up mad. We may have fixated on this argument letting it roll around in our brains all night robbing us of sleep and by the time the light of day comes, we are more angry than when we laid down with it.
Use your potential anger as motivation to get started on making those changes you need to make in your personal life. Don't go giving that energy away to someone who doesn't deserve the hit to your karma. Put your head down and do what you need to do, instead.

That “put your head down” and plow through energy is backed by a Lunar sextile to Pluto at 7:21 AM. We are likely hungry and need solid fuel to meet the energy demands of this day. So, don't skip breakfast. Do skip more sugary breakfast foods that will leave you feeling flat by noon in favor of protein that will support you evenly through the morning.
By 10:02 AM, the Moon is sextile Mercury allowing an internal collaboration to occur that colors our decision making with emotionality. This energy can be used to develop a plan to get what you need by making long-term decisions that support the changes we are dreaming of.
At midday, the Moon trines Chiron softening and calming us to a degree. The real reason why this situation has upset us so much bubbles up into our sphere. These emotions are likely held close to our chests as they involve personal details that we may not be willing to share. The knowledge is for us, not anyone else. Know that it can cause a bit of eye leakage and if you did act impulsively and blow things up in the most recent past, this is where remorse is going to find you.

By 7:36 PM, the Moon is sextile to Jupiter Rx in Virgo putting a spotlight on and expanding wherever we are emotionally. We could feel really good about holding ourselves at bay. Or, we could end up picking ourselves apart for allowing ourselves to be catalyzed into doing something we now regret. It depends. Wherever you are emotionally, grows under this sextile. This aspect also calls for us to be mindful of details and to lean into simplicity and practicality. It's easier to walk away than to violently take out all your enemies; because, then there's all the work of figuring out where you are going to hide the bodies and then digging the holes and...well, things just are more complicated down that road. So, keep it simple. If you need to apologize, don't hesitate...even if you owe that apology to yourself.
Following the sextile with Jupiter, the Moon is Void until entering Sagittarius tomorrow at 10:50 AM.

Tuesday, February 2, 2016

This morning, the Moon wakes up in Sagittarius at 10:50 AM. This does help lighten our mood a little. There are no major Lunar aspects in the meat of this day. However, the Moon does perfect in square to Neptune overnight at 3:25 AM. So, we may feel better in the early part of the day but as night creeps in it could bring tears. Or, it could simply bring a good night's sleep. Or both.
The Moon does make minor aspects to Pluto, Uranus and Mercury throughout the day. So, we haven't completely forgotten what has happened over the last few days. But, we aren't inclined to do much about it other than ponder.

Overall, I'd say the day goes rather smoothly with a lot of stuff going on for most folks under the surface...brewing. Take advantage of emotional break; we have a slew of busy and emotionally colored energy coming to our sphere tomorrow.

Wednesday, February 3, 2016

This morning we wake up under a waning Sagittarian Moon as Mars in Scorpio meets Pluto in Capricorn by sextile at 5:45 AM. There is tremendous power and endurance in this aspect that will help us move mountains if we need to. You can accomplish a lot in our early morning hours.
Our Solar body is calling for a hard days work as it hangs in sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius for most of the day, officially perfecting at 1:18 PM. Meanwhile, Mercury in Capricorn met Chiron in Pisces by sextile at 7:36 AM giving us an opportunity to come up with a plan to more effectively deal with our triggers, addictions, denied or numbed out pains. Remember, idle hands are the devil's workshop. Keep yourself busy.

By 2:31 PM the Moon is conjunct Saturn and sextile the Sun. We are sober and willing to create our own rules whether or not they adhere to the rules that are already established. We are ready for a change so that we can ditch some of the cumbersome loads we are carrying around on our shoulders. We are less likely to stay in oppressive and dominating situations and more inclined to strike out own our own toward more independence and freedom. So, if you are in one of those types of situations, this is the day in which you may decide to check out of it. Sagittarius does not like to be caged. Aquarius does not like to be told what to do especially when those directions are framed with, “this is what is expected of you and it's the way we've always done it.” No. Aquarius is ready to experiment with new methods that bust apart the debunk traditional ways of doing stuff. This is rebellious energy. But, it is responsible rebellious energy that has purpose. We aren't just bucking the rules because we feel like it. We are bucking because the rules that have outlived their effectiveness and it's time to change. It's that simple.

That call to experiment with new methods and to create a more independent structure that allows for more personal freedom is enhanced by a trine from the Moon to Uranus at 7:59 PM. Emotional intelligence increases and we try to be a bit more logical in our decision making without letting a momentary emotional situation cause to do something we may regret. Eyebrows are raised in observation and study in a rather Vulcan-like manner. We realize the decisions we make from here need to be well thought out and socially conscious. Networking or seeking the advice of an expert in some situations could provide us with additional information we need. We are definitely encouraged to pull out of the situation for a longer range view and to bear in mind the impact of our decisions on our future while assessing the potential for collateral damage.

Later tonight, the Moon squares off with Chiron, reminding us of where the “hurt” is...where the personal sickness lies. Address those needs appropriately.

Thursday, February 4, 2016

This morning the Moon is preparing to reach void status immediately after checking in with her current ruler, Jupiter in Virgo, by square at 5:04 AM. This aspect wants us to ask ourselves, “are our future plans simple enough to follow through with? Have we assessed all the details? Are we doing something that will serve us in the end or are we just making a needless mess.” We are reminded to keep things simple and practical without blowing everything all out of proportion.
Right now, we should be focused more on deconstructing instead of rebuilding just yet.

From here, the Moon is Void until entering Capricorn at 7:45 PM. There isn't much that goes down today aside from a bit of contemplation and a blessed break from high emotionality/sensitivity. However, I've named the aspects for tomorrow and Saturday as a “Royal Flush.” Now, in terms of poker, this is a really good hand to be dealt. But, that's not necessarily what I'm talking about.
Let me see if I can explain. The aspects over the next few days are numerous and powerful. The Moon, our emotional body, is directly involved in all of it. But, under a very, very dark Moon what we are being called to do is take charge in regard to what needs to be flushed out of our emotional body while flushing out anything that may be poisoning us or hindering us at the same time. For example, self-doubt...flush. Fear of what others may think...flush. Forsaking yourself and your needs, sacrificing yourself in situations that drain you instead of support you...flush. Bad habits such as poor eating, time wasting, beating yourself up for things you cannot change...flush. Negative/toxic attachment...flush. Let go. Detox. Call things to an end that need to be ended. And all this is done with the background knowledge of what is best for business...the business of your own life, that is. Spend today pontificating what needs to be flushed from your life. And, make plans to flush it away in the next few days. Take out the trash...which is an ironic statement to make since Thursdays are actually trash days in my neck of the woods. But, yeah, it's a lot like that.

Friday, February 5, 2016

This morning we may feel a little draggy, subdued or emotional due a sextile from the Moon in Capricorn to Neptune which perfects around lunchtime (11:25 AM). I personally like the mixture of Earth and Water via sextile. It is just grounded and creative enough to manifest something tangible. It also helps us deal with emotional waters without drowning. Wood floats and we are imbibed with a life preserver of sorts that will carry us safely down river.
Later tonight (and growing in intensity throughout the day) desire becomes a focal point as Venus finds Pluto by conjunction at 8:12 PM. Now, coming from the sign of Capricorn, this could very well be an obsessive desire for material possessions or even control over employees and loved ones. And, with the Moon entering this conjunction at 1:01 AM, it becomes an emotional affair. The best way to handle this aspect is to make wise and well calculated investments in your future. For example, if you run a business, this could be a good time to invest in an expensive piece of office equipment that will help your practice. It's is not a good time to go into debt over frivolous purchases. You are going to want to invest in something that will return dividends and feed your into your acquired wealth. Not rob you of necessary resource.

That holds true for matters of the heart too. Don't invest your heart in a toxic waste dump. Invest in what holds potential to support you back and that which has a chance to grow into intimacy. Know temptation will be high as this is a rather lusty and growling with craving aspect. Bear in mind your “bottom line” and the assess the impact upon your future.
From here, the Moon waxes into a square with Uranus at 2:52 AM. This is followed by a sextile to Mars at 3:22 AM...so sleep could be elusive, again, tonight. The mind is racing. The emotional body is a little nervous and anxious. And the physical body wants to freaking MOVE and do something about it right now! Chances are this will all subside at daybreak. So, hold steady and find something to occupy your brain and ease your anxiety instead of getting caught in a midnight doomsday thought loop. Again, let go more than you try to desperately hang on.

Saturday, February 6, 2016

The “royal flush” energy continues into our Saturday. But, now, we are prone to look toward practical solutions to whatever situation we are in instead of just stewing and torturing ourselves. The Moon finds Mercury in Capricorn at 10:40 AM. Then, she moves on to find grounded and practical “keep it simple” Jupiter in Virgo at 10:54 AM by trine. Mercury follows and enters this trine himself at 1:46 PM. We are called to make long term and supportive plans while being mindful of the details of such.

Meanwhile, the Sun finds Uranus by sextile at 11:39 PM and we are more prone to welcome and embark upon positive change rather than keep doing things the same old way that only serves to screw us up in the end. We are temporary pioneers, inventors, experimentalists and our methods are rather scientific and logical. We are ice. Cool. Even handed. Confident. Willing to strike out on our own and if we have a tribe that's willing to jump on our wagon, then great. If not, it doesn't matter because the wagon is moving anyway. It's time for change. It's time for hope to re-enter our sphere. It's time to finally cut the rope on the anchors we don't need so we can sail toward calmer waters.

That rope cutting comes rather matter-of-factly and without delay as Venus squares off with Uranus at 5:03 PM. Oppressive and abusive relationships are under threat of being completely severed under this sky. Controlling manipulative tactics are obvious and we are fed up with them. Patience flies out the window and our sword swings cutting negative attachment cords with purpose. Venus says, “fuck this shit.” In other words. And, hopefully, by the end of the day...after two days of royal flushing...we will be ready to declare a plan anew under Monday's New Moon in Aquarius.
The trine from Mercury to Jupiter, the sextile from the Sun to Uranus and the square from Venus to Uranus all occur under a Void Moon. So, it's all rather dispassionate. We can set our emotions aside for a moment and explore logical solutions to our current situations. It is what it is and this is what I'm going to do to change it or adapt to it or totally dismiss myself from it. Those are the types of things we are thinking. The Moon is Void until entering Aquarius at 1:00 AM. Once that shift occurs, it's time to take action and bring those pontificated plans into reality.

The heart, mind and ego run the risk of being battered this week. Truly, there is a lot going on in the sky. Note what needs to be changed. Decide what you are going to do about it and rise above any call to just go along to get along and instead, don't be afraid to set yourself apart from the crowd. There will be other outliers on the fringe trying to do similar. Buddy up with them if you need to and collaborate for ideas. But, realize, in the end, you are going to be the only one who can make the most effective decisions in regard to the business of your life.

Our New Moon is going to give us chance to launch these plans. Bear in mind we are aiming for a very fresh, very clean slate. However, immediately after it's perfection on the 8th the Moon is Void. So, I would encourage you to set your intentions early this month (After 1 AM on Sunday the 7th and prior to 9:40 AM on Monday.)
The Sabian for Monday's New Moon hints at incoming information that may help you make a more effective future decision. It reads as follows: SUN AND MOON AT 20 AQUARIUS: White dove circles overhead; descends, bearing a message. The blessing every effort by the “Holy Ghost” of revealed significance. Exaltation of all individual efforts. Celebrity.
When you trip over a realization of “Oooh, I never really thought of it like that before”...then know that is this New Moon talking to you and presenting you with a point of view you need before moving forward any further.
