Morning Star: Astrology for the week of August 31 through September 5, 2015

Monday, August 31, 2015
This morning we wake up to a large but waning Aries Moon. Luna entered the sign this morning at 4:34 AM. Her first aspect waxes in at 12:06 PM, an opposition to Mercury newly in Libra. This occurs at 4 degrees Cardinal, just past our nodal axis and BML.

Mercury entered his shadow last Friday. Emotionally affective information could be received that gives hints toward what the incoming eclipses may hold. Also, be wary that information encountered now will likely be re-visited, reviewed and assessed from the “other side of the fence” before we are done with it. Pay attention to what you are hearing and the topics of the conversations you are having. Try not to jump to conclusions, while realizing dealing with the information at hand may not be a one shot deal. It's ok to take your time in decision making, right now even if our Aries Moon may be inclined to do otherwise. A smart warrior is mindful of his timing anyway.
The big news, of course, is that the Sun perfects in opposition to Neptune (11:38 PM) today. This can play out in a million different ways. People may not be as they originally appear. Identities can be obscured on purpose or our own judgment could be impaired in the assessment. With Mercury in his shadow, pay particular attention to emails, phone calls or correspondence received from folks who may be pretending to be something they are not. Check identifying information carefully and with scrutiny.
We could also, ourselves, be working under cover. Acts of anonymous charity can occur, as well. We may meet with a bit of confusion about who we are. Or, some could be suffering from an uptick in seasonal allergies or perhaps a case of the sniffles or a bit of a stomach flu. If you aren't sick, step up your defenses in protection. If you are, be sure to get proper rest and hydration.

The best expression of this energy is to soften the hard edges and drive of the ego and attempt to foster a more compassionate and empathic approach to whatever situation we find ourselves in. Taking a hard stance is not indicated...again, this may be perplexing to our initiating emotional body. Know that there is a high probably of being misconstrued, underestimated, overlooked and maybe even taken advantage of from folks that play purposely upon empathy in an effort to pursue an alternate agenda. Folks could be cloaking their true agenda. At the very least, by the time this energy perfects we could be some pretty tired people. Physical energy could be drained and some may feel like they are just floating aimlessly through this day unable to pinpoint any true direction. Remember, you cannot fist fight Neptune. It's best to surrender to his waves when they come and follow the flow instead of fighting in resistance. This week's motto looks to be “Man plans and the Gods laugh and laugh and laugh.” And, they are laughing because they know we are putting forth our best efforts to get where it is we think we need to go; but, they have a few tricks up their sleeves that we don't know about. That hand will be dealt during the eclipses and, as a matter of fact, ecliptic happenings could be occurring as I type this. Ecliptic events have a tendency to happen on their own time schedule.

Overnight, Venus Rx met up with Mars by conjunction in Leo (1:04 AM). This aspect holds throughout the day and brings a re-assessment of personal worth and value. We could become angry due our past missteps or we could be catalyzed into action in an effort to obtain what we want. We are acting upon personal desires. But, with Venus Rx, the actions we take could be socially awkward.
Assessment of our true motivations is at an imperative as the Moon squares off with Pluto Rx at 1:33 AM. But, it's important to remember that all this happens under the energy of the Sun opposing Neptune. We've spent a lot of time in self-reassessment under Venus retrograde. Our own sense of identity can be confused or influenced. Pay particular attention to dreams and hits from symbolism. There could be valuable information in each for you.

By the time we wake up, the Moon is dancing in a Fire trine with Venus (4:25 AM) and Mars (4:37 AM). The energy to move forward is present. But, do so smoothly and cautiously as we still have some Astrological “funk” going on due the fact of Sun/Neptune and Mercury in his shadow.
By 12:38 PM, the Moon is conjunct Uranus and we are BUSY and perhaps emotionally catalyzed into action. Take some deep breaths and don't allow this itchy energy to trickle over into impulsiveness. Nervousness and anxiety could be undeniably present. Triage the situation and keep a cool practical head just like a well schooled Virgo.

Know that Monday and Tuesday could feel quite unsettled. We may try to engage only to have those efforts fall flat. Plus, after the Moon hits her conjunction with Uranus, she is Void until entering Taurus at 5:03 AM tomorrow. Starting something new is not so much indicated as working to wipe the slate clean of unfinished business. When in doubt, clean or organize something. As without, so within. This can help bring some order to your feelings of personal chaos.

Wednesday, September 2, 2015
This morning we wake up to the Moon in Taurus (5:03 AM) which hasn't been much fun since Venus flipped retrograde. Comfort is elusive and that just isn't something that cows look forward to. Plus, Venus Rx is still reeling from her dance with the Moon and Mars yesterday. What we want could be just far enough out of reach that we are frustrated. Work to release some of your attachment to that. Focus on what you have instead of obsessing about what you don't have. Focusing on self-care and expressing gratitude helps bring ease to the fact that our Moon's current ruler is retrograde.

A sense of solidness does enter this day as lovely and grounding Earth trines shoot through the sky with the Moon in aspect to Jupiter (1:02 PM), the Sun (10:07 PM) and Pluto (2:51 AM). Hold yourself on center but steer away from being overly stubborn and singular minded. Allow yourself to be restored by both Jupiter and Pluto. Remain practical and put to use the flexibility brought by the mutable energy of Virgo.
Overall, the day looks fairly smooth and steadfast especially since we are coming off a potentially unsettled start to our week. It could be business as usual and, quite frankly, we may be ready for something like that. Yet, feelings of satisfaction could still be quite elusive. We could be a group of grouchy Eeyores even if our feet are solidly on the ground.

We are in the days of a waning Moon. We are encouraged to wind things down and wrap them up instead of starting anything new. That doesn't mean new initiatives are doomed to fail. That just means if you truly want to tap into the flow of our current energy you should instead, be focused on letting go, culmination and wrapping up loose ends. Regardless of what you find yourself engaged in, enjoy being imbibed with this strongly grounded energy. But, also refrain from becoming overly stubborn while realizing you may run into some folks who are. Use this energy to get down to the nitty gritty details of what you need to do. No fluff. Just the basics and the core elements of what you require are at necessity. But, know that some will may be in search of more of that...greedily grabbing up whatever it is they think they may lack. For the most part, though, it's a pretty stable day in which quite a bit could be accomplished.

Yesterday's Earth Trines are replaced with friction today as the Bull Moon squares off with our Lion Hearts. This isn't as bloody a battle as the Lion vs the Scorpion. However it could be indicative of a stalemate or a serious standoff where neither party is willing to give or negotiate. I see angry snorts here along with a sense of discomfort. I also see a chance for frustration and a feeling of being in gridlock. Stalled. Held back. Blocked. And, that all occurs in our early morning hours as the Moon squares off with Venus at 5:20 AM and then Mars at 8:25 AM. It could feel as if we are working against ourselves and, you know what, we could be!

This feeling of tightness continues through the day as the Moon also waxes toward an opposition with Saturn which perfects tomorrow morning at 6:21 AM. Do yourself a favor and don't bloody your head by continually ramming it in a wall. Alright? Tenacity is one thing. But, sometimes tenacity runs over into being overly stubborn and comes with an unwillingness to bend. In some instances, not bending may be a good idea. But, know when to give the thing up for dead and focus on something else. Practicality, common sense and holding yourself accountable are highly indicated under this sky. Expect to trip over block and move slowly in anticipation of them while never failing to assess your true intentions and motivations. Get a good handle on the steering wheel of your life and if you are caught in a dead lock see if you can find a detour or a more scenic route. Otherwise all you are going to feel is impatience and frustration.

Friday, September 4, 2015
This morning we wake up to the Moon in opposition to Saturn (6:21 AM). An aspect like that first thing in the morning can suck some of the enjoyment out of the fact that today is the last day of the work week. Lots of folks are carrying big burdens around on their shoulders and none are likely to be very happy about it. Just as this aspect perfects, the Moon reaches Void Status and remains there for about an hour before re-igniting in Gemini (7:49 AM).
This lunar movement is where the harder edges become a little softened. We are imbibed with flexibility and that is of great assistance after the trudging we've just endured. As a matter of fact as much as we may have cursed the potential gridlock of yesterday, we may miss some of that stability as a mutable t-square waxes into our evening hours with a Lunar square to Jupiter (5:06 PM) and Neptune (10:24 PM). Hard lines dissolve in light of new perspectives. Ecliptic symptoms (uncertainty, feeling as if the other shoe is about to drop and anxiousness) are happening. We are encouraged to get out and shake the dust of this week off. Lean toward social activities that have not the first dang thing to do with work. Sagittarian energy is the missing leg of this mutable energy. Lean into optimism, perspective adjustments and wisdom while realizing you can't always have all the answers; because, the questions have a tendency to change. Realize that even though things can feel uncertain, that means that anything can happen...even good stuff! Give yourself permission to have fun while the puzzle pieces take shape.

Things are certainly more loose and uncertain today. Some could throw in their towel because they are frustrated with all the starting and stopping and starting and stopping we experienced through this week. That's alright, it may be time to let go of what we originally had in mind and, instead, try a different approach. Or, just take a freaking break, man. It's Friday. Let the pot simmer and enjoy yourself. Focus is likely to be a hard thing to foster under this Moon, anyway.

Social activities are accentuated in our late evening hours as the Moon makes a nice trine with her current ruler, Mercury in Libra, at midnight. Gather your people around you and collaborate. Get out of your head a little bit and chat things over with a trusted friend while attempting to also keep things light. We've had enough heaviness this week.

Saturday, September 5, 2015
This morning we are still under the influence of the Gemini Moon who is now in the Last Quarter phase. Luna and the Sun square off in our early morning hours. This is a call to keep letting go as we remain focused on the details of what is happening. I'll remind you, the next lunar movement is an eclipse so be prepared for the unexpected and some potentially hairy plot twists. Though for the most part, I see windows of opportunity being opened during these eclipses. Unexpected good is JUST as likely as unexpected malefic so keep your options open.

Aside from the tension brought forth from the Sun/Moon square, the rest of the day looks pretty light and busy. The Moon meets both Venus (9:16 AM) and Mars (3:28 PM) by sextile. This is great for running errands or just getting out and about for pure enjoyment purposes.
The Moon also meets Uranus in Aries by sextile at 7:05 PM which could help us to release some of our attachment to overly swamping emotional gunk. It's a great day for trying something new or for seeking out alternative answers to otherwise stoic questions. Embrace the new and let go of the old while keeping your mind open to the possibilities. Know, however, that your ducks will be highly mobile and hard to convince to get in an orderly row. Leave those ducks alone. They will get in line in due time.

Meanwhile, the Sun waxes into a fortifying and restorative trine with Pluto (7:07 PM). Some of our personal power is restored and, this, my friends is a good thing. Plus, this is the LAST DAY of Venus Rx. She turns direct overnight at 4:27 AM. If that isn't enough to call you to celebration today, I don't know what else it would take.

Earmark today for fun activities. Lay the work load down and stare industrious Virgo in the face letting her know that today your job is personal enjoyment and, then, engage in that job with relentless joy. In the U.S., this is a holiday weekend geared to honor the laborers of this country. That means all heavy burdened employees are encouraged to take the weekend and Monday off. The energy in the sky supports this so take advantage of it.

Morning Star: Astrology for the week of August 23 through August 29, 2015

Sunday, August 23, 2015
This morning we wake up to the Sun's entrance into Virgo (6:38 AM) as the Moon squares Neptune from Sagittarius (9:09 AM). Wow. Just writing that makes me want to go back to bed. The grog doesn't last all day, but it is a “slow to rise” morning which is quite alright for a Sunday in my book.

By 10:38 AM a bit of oomph is brought to the day by a nice fire trine from the Sagittarius Moon to Mars in Leo. This isn't a working aspect. It looks more playful to me and conducive of outdoor sports, theme parks, child's play and other fun busy-ness. Hopefully, if you have plans for outside the weather holds up. With the Moon squaring Neptune and the Sun waxing into opposition to the same, the chances of dry weather are slim. You can always drop your adult fashioned rules and play in the rain if that happens.

The rest of the day the Moon spends waxing into trine with Venus Rx in Leo (2:10 AM). This looks like a pretty fun and potentially relaxing day. Opportunities to get out and about may abound even if the weather is a factor. I encourage you to lean toward having fun and indulging in a bit of relaxation if you can. The sky is certainly supportive of such. Welcome the incoming harvest season and enjoy this last month of Summer before we switch gears into the richness of Autumn.

Monday, August, 24, 2015
This morning we wake up to the Moon in square to Chiron in Pisces (6:24 AM) and in trine to Uranus in Aries (6:35 AM). This doesn't appear to be a particularly harsh day. But, you know, it IS Monday...so. The square from the Moon to Chiron and the subsequent trine to Uranus looks as if we may become re-acquainted with our triggers and given opportunity to free ourselves from them.
There is also opportunity for sickness here, though. The Moon squares not only Chiron but also Mercury (6:04 PM) at the end of the day before reaching Void Status for a full 6 hours. I'm thinking potential allergy flare ups, sinus problems and possibly a headache or two.

I do like the trine to Uranus, though. It is active and free. But, it could also be indicative (supportive) of seeking the advice of an expert or doctor. So, if you do find yourself ill, don't slack on getting the treatment you need. Then, as the Moon goes Void tonight rest and allow your body to recuperate. The Sun is in Virgo, remember? So is Jupiter. Being mindful of matters of your health brings benefit. Stock up on your Vitamin C and take some while you are at it. The kids are back in school providing a nice swapping ground for germs. Take the necessary cautionary measures to protect yourself. Wash your hands. Drink plenty of water. You know the drill.

The Moon remains Void until entering Capricorn at 12:22 AM.

Tuesday, August 25, 2015
Overnight the Sun and Moon danced in a lovely grounding Earth trine (3:35 AM). Then, early this morning the Moon in Capricorn repeated her dance with Jupiter in Virgo (5:45 AM). I love this, frankly. We could use some nice solid Earth energy and today, we are gifted with a very solid and supportive trine. The energy is grounded and practical. Our feet are planted solidly on the Earth. Smooth.

At the same time, the Moon is also waxing into a nice sextile with Neptune in Pisces (3:32 PM). Know what happens when you have a lot of Earth and just the right amount of Water? You end up with a shape-able clay or mud. Today would be excellent for pottery work. Or, if you'd like to shoot that up into a the metaphorical, this malleable tangible energy could be supportive of manifestation...bringing concepts from the Air and down to Earth in physical form.
We also experience a waning Yod between the Moon in Capricorn, Neptune in Pisces and Mars in Leo in our late evening hours (between 3:30 and 7:40 PM). Mars sits at the Apex of this Yod. Aiming for manifestation while imbibing the same with a touch of our personal creativity..our own little flare, is highly encouraged. Extra bonus points are delivered if we are using recycled materials or just working to give old projects new life. The signs of Capricorn and Virgo are highly resourceful. We are encouraged to use the materials we have on hand rather than spending $50 to buy supplies to make a handmade item you could realistically buy for much less. Suffice to say, common sense is a big boon under this energy as well. Keep it simple.
The Moon is also waxing into conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn (11:33 PM). So there is certainly depth to this day. As always with Pluto, there is the chance for power plays and subservient measures. But on a personal level the conjunction can also be powerfully restorative. Our will to survive is strong. We have the ability to dust our pants off and get up to give it another try if we need too. And, we are highly encouraged to do so.

In earnest, today is quite a good mixture of energy. It's like a calm plateau that allows us to really get down to business while remaining practical and responsible. Not too dusty. Not too wet. There is just enough fire to motivate us without burning us up. Stuff gets accomplished under this sky regardless of what other craziness may or may not occur out in the world. Maintain your focus (which is supported by Moon/Pluto) and really dig into your “task at hand” whatever you choose that to be. You could make great strides of progress here. Get comfortable in practicality. We've got more of it coming our way.

Wednesday, August 26, 2015
This morning may be a bit uncomfortable as the Moon waxes into sextile with Chiron (11:26 AM) while also waxing into square with Uranus (11:26 AM). I see lots of switches in position in an effort to obtain a sense of comfort. Nervousness and anxiety could be a factor. Or, we could learn from what didn't work in the past and employ newly fostered methods. That is an excellent way to wrangle Moon/Uranus. Just refrain from impulsiveness. Convert the itchy to motivation instead. Don't be afraid to look at things differently. The energy to support that is present too. The cattle prod of Uranus can even produce EUREKA moments. Did you go to bed with a problem you didn't know the solution to but were rather obsessed about? Because, if you managed to lay it down and let it simmer you could wake up with the perfect genius solution this morning.

Mercury is also waxing into a delicious sextile with Saturn in Scorpio (12:08 PM). Talk about the ability to suss out the details. This is a ridiculously intelligent set up. It's practical, methodical, grounded and can visualize a project from the roots up and the inside out. Take advantage of that. Steer yourself away from negativity and toward determination.
On top of this strongly practical mental energy, the Sun in Virgo catches up with Jupiter for a conjunction at 6:03 PM imbibing us with needed confidence, new perspectives and the ability to take the long view in many areas of our life. Mercury is caught up in the details and this aspect allows us to pull out a bit so we don't miss the forest for the trees.
Even though the morning was a little shaky, things even out as the day moves forward and many may find themselves feeling quite good. The Moon also waxes into a practical supportive sextile with Saturn (2:02 AM) overnight while also trining Mercury in Virgo (3:20 AM) . We are thinking clearly. Optimistic, determined and solidly grounded. Nice!
Following the trine with Mercury, the Moon is Void until entering Aquarius at 4:04 AM.

Thursday, August 27, 2015
If you don't have something nice to say, just hush. Welcome to Mercury in Libra. Welcome to the doorway that leads to another Mercury Retrograde. The winged messenger enters his shadow tomorrow in preparation for that. I could give you a million reasons why I don't like Mercury in Libra. But, the main one is due my own Mercury placement (in Scorpio in the 9th) that is VERY “tell it like it is” and Mercury in Libra is anything but that. HA! Sorry, I don't like it and you can't make me. No offense meant to anyone who has the natal placement. I'm talking about the energy in general not so much it's natives. It's fickle. Indecisive. Overly cerebral and way too accommodating and WAY too worried about what others think for my liking. Others may enjoy the demure niceties. But, I don't.

When used appropriately, it's not a bad placement at all. Those who have matured the natal placement are wonderful examples of this. But, placing the energy over the entire world that contains folks who don't know the pits and downfalls..eh, I'll pass. The most infuriating thing about it, to me, is the hinting. I'm intuitive. I can tell when someone is leading me with their conversation but not coming outright and saying what it is they really mean (and an unrefined Mercury in Libra is stellar at this). Thing is, even though I KNOW what a person is hinting at, I refuse to bend to it or acknowledge it because I favor things being direct and open. And, I'm quite upfront about it. “I can tell you want me to do something but until you come right out and say it, I ain't doin it. Period.” So, yeah, that's my struggle with Mercury in Libra. You know what I mean? It can be as simple as someone saying, “I'd really like some ice cream” hinting to you to go get them some. I'll hear, “I'd really like to some ice cream” and say, “Cool. Go get you some.” But, if you come right out and ask me, “Hey, would you get me a bowl of ice cream?” I'm quick to say, “Sure!” Of course the scenarios are often more complicated than that. That's just an example. Don't try to make me guess at what you are getting at because I won't.

I'm also not really adept to the exchange of niceties and light casual conversation. Don't waste my time. And, if you think what I have to say isn't nice, I really don't care. I want conversations with depth and meaning. There needs to be some meat to it or I get bored and disinterested very quickly. So, yeah, there's all that. It is just not my cup of tea. But, others may enjoy the pleasantries and charming nature of the placement so don't let my whining and complaining deter you from that.

Back to today in general, the morning finds the Moon in Aquarius at an inconjunct to both the Sun (10:44 AM) and Jupiter (9:52 AM). That looks quite inspiring to me. Then, Mercury switches signs at 11:45 AM.
By midnight, the Moon is in an uncomfortable opposition to Mars in Leo. We may want to do a particular thing but we are also feeling socially responsible so our plans should meet with that call. There is a bit of a tug of war between the desires of “me” and the agenda of “we” if you will. Balance it out. Mercury in Libra can actually help smooth this irritation over...as much as I hate to admit that. But, yeah, it can help to assess all sides of the equation and come up with a nice accommodating medium or at least a well negotiated compromise.

Overall, the astrological weather is breezy with just enough fire to keep things active. Earth is present to deliver grounding and forward moving traction. The meteorologic weather may follow in tow making this quite a pleasant day. Enjoy and take advantage of that. The tides are due to rise as the Moon continues to build over the next few days though few will have inkling of that under this sky. It kind of sneaks up on us later.
Friday, August 28, 2015
The tug of war between our Moon in Aquarius and planets in Leo continues this morning as the Moon opposes Venus Rx. We want what we want but does that fit into the social agenda? Again, balance it out with the aid of Mercury in Libra and reach out to grab the assistance of the incoming sextile from the Moon to her current ruler, Uranus in Aries, that is waxing in due to perfect at midday (12:56 PM).
Yes, our give-a-damn may break a little in regard to whether our actions or motivations are socially acceptable or not. We are driven to uniqueness, inventiveness and freedom from meeting the expectations of others even if the mental body is inclined to be overly concerned about it. Emotionally we are less concerned about it and are able to foster a bit of detachment in regard to the opinions of others.

The day does grow heavier as we move forward due a waxing and sobering square from the Moon to Saturn in Scorpio. Be sure your heart is in the right place and stay on center. But, know it is a bit stressful and potentially depressing. The Moon is Void after this aspect perfects at 3:03 AM until entering the watery realms of Pisces at 4:52 AM tomorrow. Find the leaks in your boat under Moon/Saturn and seal them up tight.

Saturday, August 29, 2015
Release. That is what a Full Moon calls for. Culmination. Letting go. And, occurring in Pisces this could be quite an emotional ordeal especially given the fact that an opposition to Jupiter (11:09 AM) occurs immediately prior to the Full Moon's perfection. There is potential for things to get wildly blown out of proportion. So, scale it back if you can and maintain proper perspective. Be mindful of the details but don't get swamped by them.

The Full Harvest Moon perfects at 2:36 PM at 6 Pisces/Virgo 07. The Sabians for these degrees are as follows:
For the Sun at 7 Virgo: In a palatial harem bright-eyed women laugh happily. Early stage of development of individual soul, with full yet binding life-protection. Freedom from responsibility or restraint.
For the Moon at 7 Pisces: Fog hides the shore; but on a clear rock a cross rests. Concentration of values amidst the chaos of outer living. Clear light of high realization. Acceptance of life's limits.
Hmmm. I find the Sun's sabian a little triggering for some reason. In a harem? Happy and laughing? Oh, so you enjoy being a sex slave? WTF? But on the other side of this with the Moon's sabian the picture becomes a bit more clear. Here we have women who have become accepting of their lot in life and have found a way to be happy within those confines. All the while, the Moon admits that in every life there are likely limitations and certain “cross” to bear. Ok. I'll buy that. Just don't be so complacent that you miss the fact that you can take control of your own situation. Sure, there may be sacrifices that have to be made. You give up the cushy red velvet pillow your harem master supplies in favor of freedom..which often does have a price. The question is, are you willing to pay it? I'm not the complacent type. But if the sacrifices you have to make in order to get out of the situation you find yourself in are too much for to you pay then, well, snuggle in and accept something as your “lot” if you like. I just have a hard time swallowing that on a personal level. It is true that we all have a certain “cross” to bear and realization and acceptance of that can make all the difference. I can work within my personal limitations..I'm just not really keen on enforced limitations. But, that's my thing.

This Moon is a lot about acceptance of where you are right now. You are here standing directly on the X. Whether you choose to stay on that X or make plans to move forward are up to you. Sometimes the realization and where we are and what we are and are not capable of becomes quite a deflating and emotional affair. If you find yourself in that position I greatly encourage you to express and purge those emotions in an effort to get them outside of you and into the open air where they can dissipate. Holding on to them will poison you. So, get it all out. In some instances, this is going to happen without effort. Regret, remorse, guilt and what have you may pour out of us. This is where the emotionality sneaks up on us. Be easy with yourself. We are reaping what we've sewn. They don't call it the Harvest Moon for no reason. So, if you aren't getting the fruit you wanted then quit planting those seeds in sour soil, you know? But, yeah, it's quite a personal checkpoint.

Withdraw. Meditate. Sleep. Seek solitude. Deal with your emotional self accordingly. Listen less to what the world is telling you and lean into what your Soul is saying. The best answers are found there not in the opinions of others. Purge dirty and gunked up emotional waters and allow yourself to be detoxed of their poisons. Once your waters are clear again, things will begin making more sense. But, you've got to deal with that muddy water first. And, it's purely an inside job that takes on extreme personal nuance. Intuition, symbolism, dreams and music hold the keys right now. Pay attention. And if your “cross” becomes too heavy to bear...let it go. At least for now.

The Moon meets Neptune by conjunction at 6:21 PM and the waters are rushing out of the dam. Feelings can become chaotic and confusing. However, a restorative sextile from the Moon to Pluto in Capricorn is on the way to provide assistance overnight (1:46 AM). Sleep on it. It's going to be alright. This too shall pass and we will survive it. Have faith in that. Just don't try to squirrel this stuff away in an effort to maintain appearances. Get it out in the open once and for all.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for the week of August 16 through August 22, 2015

Sunday, August 16, 2015
This morning we wake up the the Virgo Moon conjunct Mercury while both trine Pluto (8:49 AM). The plot from last light is still simmering and stewing. Now, it's getting a bit thick. Most of the day is pretty demure even if the mental and emotional bodies are running deep. Though we are under a waxing Moon, it is still in Virgo which makes this morning great for cleaning, decluttering and clearing out dark and dusty corners. It is also wonderfully supportive of deep meditation, research, reading, laying the week's schedule out in practical order and getting prepared for the same. Virgo, like Capricorn, likes to have a plan. The Virgoan planning method reads much like a flow chart giving it adaptability, flexibility and mutability. To do lists, grocery/supply lists and the marking of events upon the calendar abounds today. Many can already feel that the week ahead is going to be busy. The suggestion for that is to prepare appropriately.

At 8:49 PM the Moon passes by Chiron in opposition. There is a little heart tweaking reminder of the hurts we are nursing. But, sleep and rest may be the best way to deal with it for now.

Monday, August 17, 2015
The Moon shifts from Virgo to Libra today after a nice, grounding sextile to Saturn at 1:17 PM and a short VOC period. The Moon officially enters Libra at 4:24 PM. Her first aspect is a sextile to Mars in Leo which doesn't occur until 4:45 AM on the 18th.

Today has grit and grounding. The mood is Earthy and practical. The first day of our work week finds us getting things done or, at least, diligently working toward that end. As the Moon enters Libra, it's time to relax a bit. This makes the evening wonderful for social activities, couch lounging, sharing the harvest of the day and other forms of leisure. This is another day of quiet toiling that ends on a comfortable note. Take advantage of that. The week grows in heaviness as we move more deeply into it.

The Moon in Libra is leaving a sextile with Mars in Leo this morning (4:45 AM). We may spend more time that usual preening and primping in preparation for our day. Leo combined with Libra energy is a good mixture. But, it can be a bit on the “mirror addicted” side. Regardless, most will step out to greet the day wearing their personal best like proud little peacocks. Smiles abound.

The morning is mostly social and active. This is great energy for meeting your friends on your lunch break. Reconnecting with folks you've not spoken to for awhile. It's also great for self-checks in regard to your ability to express yourself genuinely within your relationships. Are your relationships supportive of “all of you, as you are” or do have to sacrifice, surrender or hide parts of yourself in order to maintain amicable relations? Adjust where you find appropriate.
The light airy amicable mask of the day begins to fade a bit later tonight as the Moon finds Pluto in Capricorn by square at 7:31 PM. If you've discovered that your relationships were lopsided this morning, there could be conflict over that this evening. Remember the only person you can control in a relationship is you. And, if your partner has a hard time remembering that, you may want to remind them. This could be the set up for a power struggle within relationships. Keep your intentions packed with integrity and all cards on the table while working to even the playing field. This is going to become a bigger deal as Lilith moves into to Libra. However, the set up is being made now. If there are control issues, uneven power distribution or other ugliness affecting your relationships then you are likely to be made aware of it today. Don't expect this stuff to just go away unaddressed.

It is obvious that the Universe is on a mission to make stuff like this a very uncomfortable “thing.” On the extreme end, I'm talking abuse, enslavement, oppression, subservient use of power in partnerships. We will likely see much revolt from those who have been held against their will and their advocates during Lilith's stay in the sign of relationships. She plays an integral part in the re-writing of relationship standards that we will encounter during the eclipses in September and while Mercury is retrograde in Libra. The part she plays is anything but accommodating, patient and kind. Lilith doesn't request justice. She demands it.

On a smaller, less extreme scale, we may begin to hear more about how dismissing gender roles in relationships in favor of allowing each person to decide what their strengths and weaknesses are based upon personal preference and affinity rather than whether they have a penis or not. We are likely to see more paternity leave for expecting or new fathers, for example. There is also a corporate trend leaning toward extending maternity leave to up to a year. These are all welcome changes that serve as positive examples of what can come of this. But, don't fool yourself, some of the battles for equality will be bloody. In that, I'm thinking of the ISIS sex slaves, the kidnapping and subsequent abuse of indigenous women, abuse victims in general and those treated unfairly and unjustly based on old standards of belief that need to find their way OUT of our culture. Lilith definitely doesn't just send a note along with a bouquet of flowers. That's not her mode operandi. I can't say this stuff is going to become a big deal, because it already is a HUGE deal. However, mark my words, we will hear much more about stuff like this as we move forward. In order for change to happen awareness has to occur first. Lilith in Libra will bring this awareness in an undeniable fashion. Basically, what I'm trying to say is abusive and misogynistic folks, get ready. Your day is about to dawn. I'm not the least bit sorry about it either.

At any rate, we start the day all preened up and worry free. But, by the end of the evening, the sky grows darker and so does the mood. If your relationships are solid and even, then tonight could be the perfect set up for deepening intimacy within those relationships. There could be some bow-chica-mow-wow, if you know what I mean. However, I don't recommend cat-calling and assuming just because someone is all dressed up that they are out hunting for their next lay because shit like that is going to meet with backlash. I also recommend that you be wary of safety measures if you are out and about. There could very well be wolves lurking near by. Many will wear a smile to cover their true feelings and/or their agenda. Don't take anything at face value.

This morning the Libra Moon is in opposition to Uranus in Aries (9:42 AM). We are awake and shooting out of the gate to meet the day. The Moon also finds Venus Rx in Leo by sextile at about the same time (9:51 AM) drawing attention to the fact that Venus and Uranus are holding in trine as both move backward through the sky. This trine perfects at 12:45 PM. Plans for liberation are being made by oppressed folks as I type this. Those plans are held close to the chest for now. But, the details are being filled in quickly and astutely.
On the surface, though, it is a busy and social day. There is quite a bit of movement and folks are inclined to become more and more comfortable in their own skin every day. In this budding self-acceptance we, in turn, become more accepting of the differences of others and our fear over the dissimilar dissipates a bit. This self-acceptance is gently fostered, though. Venus holds at an inconjunct with Chiron while in aspect to Uranus (12:53 PM). There is still a bit of pain in our hearts in regard to many things. In that, we can allow that pain to embitter us to empower us. The choice is upon the individual.

The day ends with a fiery sunset as the Sun finds the Moon by lovely trine at 10:57 PM. This is likely to be (weather-wise) one of those perfect late summer days. I encourage you to get out and enjoy that if you can. Windows down, music up...yes, please.
After the Sun/Moon sextile, Luna is void until entering Scorpio at 5:25 AM tomorrow morning.

Thursday, August 20, 2015
Under this Scorpio Moon, things get gritty. The smile drops from many a facade as we turn our faces to the abyss. Emotions deepen and the sparkle we had in our eyes under the light Libra/Leo energy of the recent past is replaced with deep dark reflective pools.

Mercury is secretly busy in the background making an opposition to Chiron at 5:44 AM and an inconjunct to Uranus at 6:02 AM. Uranus and Chiron are locked in a semi-sextile at the moment. Uranus is encouraging us to liberate ourselves from our pain instead of continually allowing it to control so much of our lives. In order to be able to do that, we must become aware of our pain and how it is controlling us in the first place. These “pains” can be addictions, conditioning we may not be aware of, sickness, being overly passive and accepting of circumstance because “that's just the way it is”, lack of boundaries, an inability to embrace differences in others and many other things. You will likely know what I'm talking about by the end of this day. Mercury is here to ensure that and he is attempting to bring this to our awareness to help us heal not to wound us further. However, as he brings this stuff into our conscious awareness it will hurt. Keep the reason for that in the back of your mind. You have to become aware of where the thorn is before you can pull it out. Pain does have a purpose, at times.

You will be astutely inclined to know how to deal with this stuff as it comes up too. The Scorpio Moon finds Jupiter in Virgo by sextile at 9:23 AM. Let me tell you something, Moon in Scorpio and Jupiter in Virgo is a world different than Moon in Scorpio and Jupiter in Leo. Anytime you have a mixture between Scorpio and Virgo the result is ridiculously astute bringing the ability to get down to the very root of any problem and build a sturdy staircase out of that hole eventually. I love this mixture of energy. This is where solutions are found. And, Virgo holds the key to manifestation of beneficial changes. Just don't expect these changes to manifest without effort. With Virgo, you have to get in there and do your part. Those willing to roll their sleeves up and dig in will benefit greatly, though. So don't be afraid to give it a shot.

PS: This mixture of energy is also lovely for sewing a late summer crop, cover crop or setting out perennials/bulbs to root and flourish in the next growing season. It's also time to start thinking about stocking some of the harvest away for winter. Gathering seeds and preparing for the future in general. That's right my squirrely friends, time to gather acorns. My husband and I, as an example, are putting together a savings plan with the end goal of buying a generator and a source of heat that is not dependent upon electricity before winter hits because...I just have this feeling we are going to need it. Josi has learned not to dismiss her intuitive inklings. Even if they do not manifest, there isn't a darn thing wrong with being prepared. Jupiter in Virgo blesses such actions. So start thinking along those lines and expect the call to such to increase as the Sun ingresses into Virgo on the 23rd.
By 9:03 PM the Moon is in a conflictual and irritating square with Mars in Leo. This can cause ambiguity and friction. Find an amicable balance. But, know that is hard to do because emotionally we are swimming in the depths. At the same time, we may be driven toward acts of showmanship as well as dramatics. Sex on stage. That's what I see between these energies. Also, actions may allude to deeper motivations. What we do may reveal the secrets we are holding tight to our chest. Many walk on eggshells as a result; because, the time for exposure is premature. That being said, while you are being wary of your actions, note the actions of others. This energy definitely swings both ways.
Mainly the day is deep and serious. There are some smartasses and pranksters that can emerge under Moon/Jupiter but mostly the humor is squashed because folks are busy minding the details of their personal lives.
Deeper into the night the Moon finds Neptune by trine (10:54 PM). Sleep blessedly follows. Rest well, kittens. Tomorrow is a day of heavy lifting.

Friday, August 21, 2015
This morning we wake up slow and determined. The Moon is in an enriched sextile with her ruler, Pluto in Capricorn at 7:58 AM. We are ready to get down to some serious business. That attitude is anything but light and jolly. That point is driven home as the Moon waxes into square with Venus Rx in Leo (7:14 PM) who is ready to take a break already! But, a break may not be available as our responsibilities are hanging heavily over our heads.

The Sun in Leo finds Saturn in Scorpio by square at 7:41 PM. Now is not the time to rest or frolic. There are going to be some folks who are quite grumpy about it. However, putting your nose to the grindstone and getting stuff done carries great reward but not in the realm of immediate gratification. This is an extended process with results that pay off in the long-term. So set your perspective appropriately and do what needs to be done. Take advantage of this sky instead of allowing it to over-power you. Yes, there is a lot to be done but don't forget to mark your progress along that route. It may feel like you are trying to fill an very deep hole but you've got to start somewhere, right? Take your time and do it the right way. This is definitely not race. Tackle it bit by bit, piece by piece. The energy to support such efforts is present but we may wish we were at the end of this long journey instead of just now crossing the threshold. Hang in there!

We end the night with a lunar trine to Chiron (9:36 PM), inconjunct to Uranus (9:42 PM) and sextile to Mercury in Virgo (2:58 AM). Mercury is holding his inconjunct to Uranus and while the Moon hangs in sextile a Yod is created with Uranus at the apex. A sense of responsibility hangs HEAVY over this day and I suggest you meet that as best you can. Tonight, the mental body is busy but the physical body is tired. So rest and let your personal plot stew. Under this Yod, intricate strategy can be formed. Meditate on that. Write down your plans. Put things into chronological steps and in order of priority. Deny not the fact that you are going to have to work for whatever you have planned. Under this sky, that, my friends, is a given.

Saturday, August 22, 2015
The day of Saturn holds true to its name as we wake up under the tense umbrella of the Moon in Scorpio conjunct Saturn. This doesn't perfect until our early evening hours. However, the waxing pressure begins as we start our day and the banjo strings in regard to that feeling are pulled tighter as we move forward. Personal responsibility still hangs heavily in the sky.
At 3:32 PM our pivotal First Quarter Moon perfects with both the Sun and the Moon hanging harshly around Saturn. Yeah. HEAVY. Deep. Dirty. Serious. Blocks to our intentions set at the New Moon in Leo crop up like brick walls. That's alright. We'll remove that wall brick by brick, blow it apart or find ways over or around it. But, today, we run face first into them. At least you'll know what you are up against. Don't let it overwhelm you. But definitely assess everything about that wall after you peel your face off it. Look for holes in the chinking. Weak spots. Refine your method of attack. Giving up is a non-option.

The mood of the day is dark and serious. We still realize we have a lot of work to do and and are VERY unappreciative of anyone who decides to pile more responsibility onto our plate. Especially if the work they are giving us is stuff they need to be doing themselves. We are inclined and rewarded for helping others; however, being a doormat is not something that Jupiter in Virgo is comfortable with. DIY and making an effort to help yourself instead of expecting everyone to cater to your needs is highly accentuated. At the same time, set realistic expectations for yourself. Aim to do your best and realize that there are going to be times when “your best” is not going to feel like it is reaching the designated mark. Perfection IS NOT the goal here. Forward diligent progress is. Getting your shit together is the ultimate goal but that is not going to happen overnight. You know? We didn't dig this hole overnight it's not going to be filled so easily.

Remember that more mountains can be moved with combined energy in comparison to what a person can do alone. Strong relationships pay off in spades right now. Collaboration is a good idea but be prepared to do your part. If you aren't holding up your weight of the load, expect to be called out on it. Expect that calling out to be not so gentle, either. Find your grit and employ it appropriately. Weak knees and lazy constitutions will suffer.
After the First Quarter Moon perfects, Luna is void until entering Sagittarius at 4:42 PM. From here, she waxes into a square with Jupiter in Virgo which perfects at 9:31 PM. May the Gods help you if think you have all the answers because Jupiter in Virgo is going to pick that feeling to shreds. Broad encompassing solutions don't fit with this sky. We must be mindful of the details and be aware that situations and how they are addressed differ from person to person. There is no one size fits all solution which may be disappointing to this broad and encompassing Moon. Jupiter in Virgo humbles the “know-it-all” Moon and suggests that if it doesn't have something helpful to contribute it best just keep it's trap shut. No one has all the answers right now because the questions are in the process of being changed. Steer this Moon toward openness and expansiveness instead of trying to pigeon hole things. Open your mind. Open your heart with generosity and benevolence instead of desperately trying to secure your place as the person with all the answers. That is the shadow of both Jupiter and the Moon in Sagittarius. Don't blow things out of proportion. Keep it real. Keep it humble. Keep things open to new experience and perspective. A point of ease is coming, but it ain't coming today. Continue to pare and prune things down instead of allowing stuff to blossom into an overwhelming task list.
Remember, Jupiter and Saturn are in a waxing out of sign square. They meet in the signs of Sagittarius and Virgo. The square wanes a bit as Jupiter pulls ahead in Virgo but the pressure of these continually lingers for a very long time. Through the end of the year, as a matter of fact. Today's feel gives inkling to the workload and attitude needed for that heavy lifting aspect. There will be plenty of work to do in the very near future. Yes, your plate will be full so toss off any extraneous crap now. No fluff. Bare necessities, resourcefulness, and hard work will be called for. The sooner you accept that, the better prepared to handle it you will be. The two don't officially meet until both planets are Rx in early April 2016...see, the path ahead is long and has many twists and turns but our efforts now will surely be assessed under that sky. You can bank on it. So, gather your nuts...yes. Preparations made now reap pay off in the Spring. It is, however, a long road ahead and no one will have to be told that. Most likely, they already know and if they don't they are soon to find out.

Morning Star: Astrology for the week of August 9 through August 15, 2015

Sunday, August 9, 2015
This morning we wake up to the Gemini Moon creating a lovely sextile with the Sun in Leo at 7:29 AM. As the Moon makes contact with the Sun, she also creates a lovely sextile with Uranus (2:30 PM). Right now, the Sun is waxing into trine with Uranus. The two are separated by 4 degrees. So, in about 4 more days, this trine will perfect. Today, though, the Moon links the two up in a delicious mini-trine. Talk about a great day to let loose of your cares and just enjoy the sunshine. There is marvelous opportunity for that under this sky.

There are some reminders of hurt and accountability as the Moon makes a square to Chiron at 2:56 PM and an inconjunct to Saturn at 5:04 AM. It's not like we are flying about without consciousness.
At midnight, the Moon sextiles Venus Rx in Leo creating a soft place for us to land for the night. Chances are we rest well. It was likely a busy but satisfying day.

Monday, August 10, 2015
A lovely sextile between the Gemini Moon and Jupiter in Leo greets us as we rise from our slumber this morning (7:46 AM). From here, the Moon is Void until until entering Cancer at 8:09 AM. Our emotions shift from light and airy to watery and intuitive.
The shift today is not harsh. It's more of a gentle transition. Yet, the waters will rise as the Cancer Moon moves forward. Today, though, the biggest topic of conversation may be in regard to dinner plans. The Moon meets Mercury in Virgo by sextile at 6:11 PM. Momma Moon and Nursemaid Mercury are discussing nutrition and the best way to provide it to their wards. The needs of the “belly” are highlighted between these two signs. Eat well. But be mindful of sensitivities and the need for nutrients.
notice the opposition of these first two pictures...I thought that was pretty cool
What can occur within this mix, as well, is motherly nitpicking. Take your umbrella. Wear your seat belt. Make sure you have on clean underwear in case you are in an accident and have to go to the hospital. You know the drill. Why do Mom's do this? Because they worry (Virgo) and they care (Cancer). It's ok to advise someone to back off if their “mothering” becomes “smothering.” Call out your boundaries.

I'm also seeing a bit of social grooming here which CRACKS ME UP! Social grooming is something that occurs in the animal kingdom. But, the thought of this occurring in the mainstream human population...say, while one is riding on the subway or something...is just hilarious. But, yes, the mixture of these energies can produce such. Though, I don't expect someone to pick lint out of your hair while you are on the bus, a loved one could very well straighten your collar or pull a stray hair from your shirt. Ahhh...Virgo. Yes, my shirt is tucked in, my shoes are tied and I turned the coffee pot off before I left the house. Promise.
But, thank you for letting me know you care.
Tonight, the Moon makes a lovely trine with Neptune at midnight. Sleep well my pretties. You brushed your teeth right? Flossed, too? Ok, Goodnight! Sleep Tight! No bed bugs will bite because I had the place fumigated last week.

Tuesday, August 11, 2015
Um. Speaking of Virgo. This morning we wake up to JUPITER IN VIRGO! Yes. There is a bit of a “shift” to be had here. Jupiter in Virgo is NOT Jupiter in Leo. Not even close. Jupiter in Leo was all about self-discovery. Finding yourself. Learning about yourself. And, as long as we have this stellium in Leo (Sun, Venus, Mars) those lessons are ongoing but wrapping up. However, Jupiter's shift into Virgo overlays a whole new lesson plan. Now that we “know who we are” we are going to learn “what we can do with that.” Application of talents. Offering of self into service. “Exaltation” is brought to things like the service industry, healthcare industry, practical magic, personal healthcare, getting organized, to do lists, clean up efforts (globally and on the home front) and the ability to USE one's personal intelligences through the art of manifestation. Virgo is a manifestor bringing mental concepts out of the Air and onto the Earth in tangible form. It's time to make it real, whatever “it” happens to be for you.
On a side note, if you struggle with things like grammar, spelling, punctuation and you write in a public forum (social media or what have you), either grow a set of big shoulders and get over the nit picking of not what you say but your ability (or inability) to punctuate and spell it properly or hone your skills. I'm just saying. Unpaid editors and content managers will blossom on social media and in the comments of news articles during Jupiter's stay in Virgo. Mind the Orbit commercial...CLEAN IT UP!

Just as Jupiter moves into Virgo, the Moon in Cancer also opposes Pluto Rx in Capricorn. Now, here is where the mothering is the most likely to become smothering. There could be emotional manipulation at play as well as acts meant to keep wards dependent. Know how to tell the difference between true offers to help and acts of help that are meant to foster control over you through creating dependency.
On the other side of this fence, if you feel like you have what it takes to help someone else or their situation, ask first. Don't just barge in and take it upon yourself to start “fixing.” No. Not a good idea. Wait to be asked or take it upon yourself to offer. DON'T JUST ASSUME everyone is ready to accept the wonderful solutions for all their problems that you thought up this morning while drinking your green tea. That's creepy. Don't be creepy. Or pushy. Or a know-it-all. Temper that a bit. Jupiter in Virgo=everybody is a critic. Yeah, it's likely to be a “thing.” Not the only “thing” but a thing.

There will also be exaltation brought to things like public libraries, reading in general but particularly reading PAPER books especially DIY or “how to” manuals. Writing these snippets and publishing tips in general for folks to find on their own is a much more socially acceptable way to “help” than forcing your all encompassing wisdom on the poor ingenues around you. Also, if you are a business owner, it's time to take a serious look at how your business meets the growing call toward customer service. EVERY business provides some type of service to someone. Even if you are the boss, you still have customers who are YOUR boss. Jupiter in Virgo says it is high time this was brought to your attention. Identify your customer. Figure out what they think about your product and where they feel your business can improve and get on it. You may not even have to ask for feedback. Chances are you will hear it. Consider these criticisms a gift filling you in on areas that need improvement instead of taking it too personally. Tackling this right now (the customer service element of your business) is going to pay off in spades as Jupiter in Virgo trines Pluto in Capricorn. Again, clean it up. Simplify. Focus on building core and basic elements. Ok, I'm not going to try to cram an entire Jupiter in Virgo write up into Tuesday's Astrology. I think what I've said thus far is a fair introduction.

Our final aspect of the day is a Lunar square to Uranus in Aries which isn't all that conducive to a restful night (10:28 PM). However, if you were busy during the day and physically spent some of this accumulating energy you may be lucky enough to get some sleep. Expect that sleep may be elusive tonight and prepare for that.

Wednesday, August 12, 2015
This morning the Moon in Cancer is swimming away from that catalyzing and nerve wracking square with Uranus and into a nice supportive and grounding trine with Saturn in Scorpio. This is wonderfully stabilizing and many will welcome it. After the trine to Saturn (1:43 PM) the Moon is Void until entering Leo at 4:53 PM. We have a chance to get our feet underneath us and make some solid progress in the realm of wrapping up loose ends. Under a waning Moon, this is exactly what we should be doing. Winding things down in preparation for the next lunar cycle which commences the morning of the 14th under the Leo New Moon.

The problem is our lines of logic are blurred. The mental body is drunk and potentially confused with a waxing opposition from Mercury in Virgo to Neptune in Pisces. Whatever you are working on, it isn't not going to be perfect. Perfect is a lie. So keep the ideal in mind but mindful of what is truly possible in reality. Perfection does not fit that bill. There are gray areas and, on top of that, we may not be seeing things all that clearly. Be wary of other lies and the potential for someone else to attempt to blur the lines of the truth. They pay their consequence for that eventually but don't fall prey to it in the process. Find the facts and dismiss the rhetoric. Dig under the surface and you'll find what it is that they are trying to obscure. In the meantime, make sure you are holding to the truth on your end. Overall, my advice is to toil with what is tangible. What you can hold in your hands. Simple dexterous activities keep your hands busy while the mind is allowed to wander where it will...since it is prone to doing that anyway under this sky. The Mercury/Neptune opposition perfects at 9:12 PM. We are sleeping tonight even if we have to self-medicate to do so...dammit. And we may just have to. The Moon finds Mars in Leo at just about the same time (10:01). Don't go to bed angry. Seriously, try to get some rest because tomorrow is ACTIVE!

Thursday, August 13, 2015
This morning we wake under an empowering and catalyzing trine from the Sun in Leo to Uranus in Aries. This is certainly an AWAKE aspect. One that beckons us to shake off the dust of potential judgment and make an entrance into the world exactly as we are. We gather friends around us. Social connections become emphasized. We gravitate to the places we are accepted and carry the folks that accept us along as we venture outward into new terrain and experience. Our “give a damn” about how others perceive us breaks. We are who we are, scars and all. We become a little more ok with that. Empowering. Liberating. I love the looks of this! I have Sun/Uranus/Mars conjunct in Libra and I really get off on empowering others. Today, that “empowering” becomes an internal act and I think the potential here is just LOVELY! Get down with your bad self! This Uranian action is going to provide for a wonderful set up under our New Moon in Leo in the morning. Feel free to prance.

There are a couple of humbling check-ins (which in this set up may be a good thing) that occur prior to the New Moon in the morning. The Sun meets Chiron by inconjunct at 9:54 AM reminding us of the pain still present in the world even in the midst of our self-rejoicing. Plus, the Moon makes an inconjunct to Neptune increasing our empathy in regard to the circumstance around us. So, maybe a gentle prance that allows others to join your parade as they are is your best bet. Celebrate yourself and welcome others to gently do the same for themselves. Know though, this is definitely a no shackles and no chains kind of day. People will break free from various forms of oppression or at the very least, draw attention to its presence. There is nothing quiet or demure about this day. Folks are going to be reactive. Expect that.

The tendency for re-activeness increases as the Moon repeats the Sun's trine to Uranus in the morning. Yep. Could be a little nuts. I'm looking forward to it. As long as you don't let nervousness, anxiety and your overwhelming ego get the better of you, you'll be just fine. Most will enjoy this day. Remember we are aiming for inclusiveness, acceptance, personal freedom for all (not just you) and the ability to feel confident and good enough in the skin we are in while ever noticing where we still have room to improve. Hold others up just as much as you hold yourself up. Together, folks. We are in this together striving for interdependence and there is a long road ahead. We aren't even close yet. But large strides can be made in that direction right now.
Friday, August 14, 2015
This morning we wake to the blossoming of the New Moon in Leo at 10:55 AM. This is where we make the declarations of “I am.” Who is it that you have discovered you are under all this Jupiter in Leo and Venus Rx in Leo action? In yesterday's budding “self-freedom” what did you discover? Well, I'm not going to encourage you to roar that out. Instead, I encourage you to gently say these words to yourself, “I am...” Then, sit quietly with that as you decide what is you can do with it. Self-acceptance. Self-love. Self-appreciation. If you see someone struggling, offer them something you can afford to give. Encouragement. Gratitude. Respect. All are practical and inexpensive gifts. However, if you have no humility you will not be able to afford them. Remember, you cannot be personally free, truly, until we are all free.

The Sabian Symbol for our Sun and Moon under this New Moon in Leo is (From Dane Rudhyar's book The Wheel of Sigificance) 22 Leo: A carrier pigeon alights at dawn before his owners. The return of the soul-energies to the central self after a significant experience. Adventuring. Practical enlightenment.
The New Moon itself is trine Uranus, inconjunct Chiron, conjunct Venus and both the Sun and Moon are waxing into square with Saturn. Gentle (Venus) freedom (Uranus) wrapped up in humility (Saturn), sobriety (Saturn) and responsibility (Saturn). Make your declaration in a way that it provides you support to stand on. But, know if you put yourself on a pedestal allowing no room for others to honor themselves in the same way you are honoring yourself, then you will fall from that exalted position. Chances are, that plunge is not going to be graceful. So be graceful. Cats can do that. Right?

The square from the Moon to Saturn waxes in at midnight tonight. This is when humility will forcefully find you if you didn't take your doses of it willingly. From here, the Moon is Void until entering Virgo at 3:47 AM. This shift will take our “I am” vows and push them into service. I am...and I can use that for.... Be ready to fill that last bit in as the Moon in Virgo finds Jupiter in the morning.

Saturday, August 15, 2015
Things kind of feel like they are turning around by the time we get to the end of this week. I hope for most that circumstance has swung toward better and not worse. A big thing to remember under Jupiter in Virgo is that we make our own luck which is something not many like. But, it's the truth none-the-less and is the reason that traditional Astrology deems Jupiter in Virgo as a challenging placement. You have to work for it. But if you are willing to work for it, benefit is YOURS. So, don't be afraid to get your hands a little dirty and don't forget to incorporate elbow grease. You get back what you put in and nothing more. That ideology showers over us this morning as the Moon finds Jupiter in Virgo for the first time since Jupiter shifted signs. Self-exaltation is no longer the call of Jupiter. Exaltation of physical, practical, labor and a focus on service is now what gets the spotlight. Adjust your perspective appropriately.

Meanwhile, we do have an opportunity for a bit of much needed self-love as Venus finds the Sun by conjunction. Lick your humble wounds. It's ok. Treat yourself a bit. That's ok too. Share a little love if you have some to spare. That's kinda the point. Thing is there may be a bit of a push and pull between whether we should sink leisurely into self-indulgence or get our asses to work. I suggest balancing things out with a little of both. You can make your “service” self directed in the way of self-care. Preening. That suits both purposes. Hello. Spa day. Spa-aaaaaaaaaah day.

Don't think this has to be a big expensive consumer-minded driven thing. I make a killer “spa-like results foot scrub” using only beach sand and cocoa butter. Virgo is all about using what you have. Might as well start practicing. Making your own self-care supplies (and cleaning supplies) is favored under Jupiter in Virgo. Basics. Simple. Natural. Clean. So preen away but realize you really do not need to spend a fortune or put a bunch of crazy chemicals on your skin to do so.
As we relax into Sun/Venus, our minds are freed in the process. We are able to peer deeply inward. Mercury perfects in trine to probing Pluto in Capricorn at 3:53 PM. Thoughts are anything but light. They are investigative. Researching. Ridiculously practical and astute. The ability to develop plans under this aspect is punctuated. Long term, step by step, intricate processes can be fostered under this energy. We may be softening ourselves on the outside, but on the inside we are sharp. Focused. Plotting. Conspiring. Uncovering hidden agendas. Peering through an x-ray lens. You evil mastermind, you.

The tricky dicky? As minds are sharpening, emotions are rising. The Moon opposes Neptune at 9:30 PM. Emotions can skew the sharpest mind. Remember that. Let the pot simmer and keep soaking in your steam bath. Pay heed to what this “insight” is telling you. Realize the potential veracity of your emotions. Be mindful of your timing. Don't let the heat get above a very low simmer.
