Morning Star: Daily Astrology for June 23, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Moon in Virgo leaving an opposition with Chiron and an inconjunct with Uranus in Aries. Meanwhile, Mercury is tightening in square to Neptune. This perfects at 2:09 PM and is followed, tonight, by a slew of crunchy Mars aspects.

First, with the Moon's opposition to Chiron and subsequent inconjunct to Uranus, we are given opportunity to assess and triage our healing. Are we healing? Or are we continually re-injuring ourselves? Some may only feel the pain and react. However, the more beneficial idea is to feel the pain if its present and respond. Pain is one of our body's ways of telling us something is wrong. Chiron's energy is particularly strong right now as he quivers in his station preparing to turn retrograde tomorrow. Emotional pain is just as relevant as physical pain and should be treated with the same care as a physical injury. Neither wound (physical or emotional) should be ignored or allowed to fester. Give yourself the healing that you need and if you are incapable of addressing it on your own, then seek expert advice (inconjunct Uranus).

Not only do we need to beware of re-injuring ourselves and pay heed to the fall out from that, there is prime opportunity for an original injury here with the “rushy” energy that Uranus provides accompanied with the potential brain fog that Mercury square Neptune delivers. There is a high probability of being distracted while we are rushing around doing what needs to be done on our task lists. Distraction + Rush = prime set up for careless accidents. Be careful and alert out there while being a responsible caretaker of your own stuff be that illness, injury or emotionality. We are still under the fire trine between Jupiter and Uranus. The feeling of quick expansion and rush, is a thing. Slow down.

This afternoon, Mars lingers at the end degree of Gemini where he finds himself at an inconjunct with Saturn at 2:37 PM. This feels like drag and exhaustion...trudging. Later tonight, the Moon will sextile Saturn and square Mars bringing punctuation to this set up. Our emotional bodies are processing all that needs to be done. It seems like the list is at critical mass and moving forward is a slow and tedious adventure. So, we begin prioritizing and laying out an attack plan as Saturn and the Moon get down to business. The feel of Moon square Mars is agitating and could affect our ability to rest. After the square to Mars, though, the Moon reaches Void status (1:13 AM) for a brief 30 minutes before entering Libra at 1:42 AM on the 24th. As the lights come back on the Moon, pressure resumes under our waxing First Quarter Moon that perfects early in the morning as Chiron stations retrograde and just prior to Mars entering Cancer. Shifty, indeed.

Although Mercury square Neptune hazes up the day, the pressure that is exuding from the sky is felt by our emotional bodies as well as our physical bodies. We may not understand why we feel the way we do. As a matter of fact, there may be times when we don't understand a darn thing because, in some areas, it's too hot, hazy and humid to be able to think. You know those days when it is so hot you can look out at the road and it looks all mirage-y? Like it's flowing or melting or there is some ethereal haze creeping up from it? Or when there is a rainstorm and that is followed by tremendous heat that causes fog to emerge from the pavement like ghosts from the grave? Yeah, it's a lot like that. I find that disorienting; but, it is a wonderful depiction of the effects of Mercury square Neptune. Our eyes can deceive us by putting an oasis in our desert when none truly exits. Plus, yes, there is a chance for some wonky weather under a sky like this. As above, so below. As within, so without. The thunderstorm could very well occur within us, too.

The entirety of this day and how it should be treated can be captured with one statement, “Heal thyself.” I know you are busy. I know you have responsibilities. I know you have a long list of things to do. But, if we ignore our own needs, illnesses and injuries we could truly set ourselves up for failure or an extended debilitation that keeps us from accomplishing anything. Self-care is that important. Carve out some space in your day for that while remaining alert to emerging hazards. Expect folks to be distracted on the roads and drive defensively. Expect folks to be confused from time to time and use the Virgo powers we are currently imbibed with to sort your way through the confusion. Expect emotional energy to rise and get well positioned and centered to deal with that. Try to maintain a sense of humor and laugh at yourself as necessary. But, above all, be good to yourself and leave plenty of room for others to process whatever they need to while making some space for yourself as well.
