Morning Star: Astrology for the week of June 28 through July 4, 2015

This morning we wake up with the Moon leaving a square with Jupiter/Juno (6:43 AM) and Venus (3:45 AM) in Leo. For me this played out as a belly ache because I ate ice cream last night and my body doesn't tolerate it well. The Leo Stellium falls in my 6th (digestive system) and the ice cream was pure self indulgence (Venus in Leo). I know better. But, I've no regrets. Some folks may wake up to similar discomfort as this is the cross that Venus square Moon bears. It can also produce a bit of laziness, that doesn't sound too bad for a Sunday.

From here, the Moon waxes into trine with Chiron (7:34 AM) and spends the rest of the day waxing into conjunction with Saturn in Scorpio (9:52 PM). There is not much fun and giggly about these aspects. The trine to Chiron is not forceful. It is watery, and occurring under a waxing Saturn/Moon conjunction that works to tighten and depress our current sky. This set up is another call to self-care and respite. The trine from Chiron to Moon has us licking our wounds while the Saturn conjunction solidifies our resolve to survive and endure. Self-neglect or avoidance of emotional issues could lead directly to depression causing things to feel worse than they need to be. It's better to deal with what needs to be dealt with the best way we can.
After the Moon meets Saturn by conjunction, she is Void for an hour and a half until entering Sagittarius at 11:23 PM. This lunar movement sets the sky up for an entirely different ballgame on Monday though we do still have water to contend with as that day moves forward.
Overnight, Venus perfects in trine to Uranus (2:26 AM). Venus is certainly on fire. Uranus provides the catalyst to move her forward toward being a more independent and progressive entity.

Monday, June 29, 2015

We can begin to feel the inklings of Venus and Uranus in trine as we wake up this morning. The Moon doesn't enter this ring of fire until tomorrow afternoon. But, folks will be feeling the call to boldly step out into the world sporting whatever new look they've donned ready to kick this incoming week in the teeth. Some may even receive Venus surprises, gifts, unexpected money, messages of love. Other folks may shower themselves with these blessings making impulse buys or indulging their wounded emotional bodies in material pleasures. Retail therapy could be a thing. Nothing wrong with that if you can afford it. But, at the same time, don't forget to share if you can. Being in a position to share the pleasures of Venus feels just as good, if not better, as receiving them. She is all about that (sharing) too.

As the day moves forward, the Moon perfects in square to Neptune (5:13 PM) while also waxing into opposition with Mercury (6:22 AM). This mutable t-square can be a mental washout. We could hear some tear-filled confessions or meet up with truth that causes an emotional reaction. Our best bet here is to effectively triage the situation sorting information into category, separating fact from fiction while prioritizing what needs to be addressed first. Bring order to the confusion. Deal with the emotional body's needs, first. Then, once that has settled down, work to get the information straight and be very mindful of the details in an effort to put the pieces of the puzzle together while being gentle with yourself in the process. The mutable t-square makes the situation messy. In times like that, our only hope is to pour our efforts into cleaning things up creating order out of the chaos. I see more wet weather overlaying the world today potentially causing flooding in some future clean up efforts may be directed there. But, as above, so below...some of this wet weather and flooding could happen internally as well.
Mercury is officially out of his shadow now. So, much of the information coming in is less of a review and mostly brand new territory. However, Venus is lodged in her shadow so matters she encounters now will likely come up again but mirrored in a way. That's what Venus does. She puts the shoe on the other foot for awhile so we can get a more clear perspective. She does rule the mirror image of Libra, you know? Keep that in mind as she moves forward into her shadow. We could very well, during Venus' wobbly trek through Leo, move from aggrandized self-love to self loathing and finally rest upon self-acceptance wrapped in a good bit of humility. Think about what may happen to foster that kinda thing. We build ourselves up only to trip over our egos and land on our rears. Then, humility is forced upon us as we build ourselves back up a little more gently and a little less self-righteously. Sounds fun, right? Well, helps to remember that could happen today as Venus is loaded for bear. What happens under this sky has the potential to be flip-flopped and flung back at us. So, make sure you are putting out there what you can handle having hurled back at you in matters of love, relationships/partnerships and money.
Overall today calls for us to consciously mix the elements of fire and water. It's much like the Temperance card in that regard. Too much water and the entire mixture is a wash. Too much fire and everything is burned to dust. We want to work on meting out just enough of each in an effort to bring some balance to the day. The Moon also lingers in sextile/trine to our Nodal Axis for most of the day. So, draw from the seat of Aries and reach for the throne of Libra as you navigate this day. Pulling grounding and practicality from the fields of Virgo helps as well.

Tuesday, June 30, 2015

This morning, the fog from yesterday dissipates rather quickly. The opposition from Moon to Mercury in Gemini is still in force as we pull ourselves from our beds (6:22 AM). There is still plenty to think about. However, the Moon is also waxing into trine with Uranus in Aries (12:03 PM) and Venus in Leo (1:48 PM). Aside from that, the Moon pulls in a trine from Jupiter/Juno at 2:19 PM. We've certainly been thrust out of the waters at this point and have landed directly on a sunny beach to dry out. Leftover street puddles bubble into steam and evaporate. Humidity could very well be a thing as it is prone to be during Cancer season. Either way, things are all heated up...just in time for the Moon to square off with Chiron in Pisces (2:21 PM) as Jupiter finds the same by inconjunct (4:27 PM).

Ok. The ring of fire created with the Moon, Uranus, Jupiter, Juno and Venus is busy and active. Many could be running off on vacation or out and about on adventure in some form or another. Cool. Have fun. But don't rush around so quickly that you end up hurting yourself. I know the push to rush is in place. Still, though, be consciously involved in what you are doing without allowing the excitement to overtake you. Enjoy it! Take a few risks if you feel lucky but don't set yourself up for failure by being careless or overly self-confident. You know? It's an Evil Knievel type of day that comes with the same potential risks for injury that Evil Knievel faced. Push the limits. Be daring. But, don't be stupid. There was a lot of preparation that went into Knievel's stunts. It is not like he woke up one morning and just decided to hurl his motorcycle across a ravine. Impulsiveness is pumping through many veins right now. Steer that effectively by pulling back and engaging your smart brain instead of letting the energy burn you up. Make the adrenaline work for you by converting the excitement to deliberately exerted fuel.

You know what, though? It would be a great day for a parade. Either an officially arranged one or an impromptu one. One in which everyone shows up with their individual freak flag and steps out exactly as they are with no shame attached. However, they may be echoes of oppression lingering within their hearts...a reminder that this new found freedom needs to be cherished because it wasn't too long ago that it didn't exist. That mixture of joy and pain could be worth celebrating. Pride. Survival. Endurance. Freedom. Love wins. This is the perfect day for love to fill the streets in celebration. It is THE DAY of Venus, afterall. So, get out there and get down with your bad self...just don't hurt nobody.
After her trine with Jupiter, the Moon is Void until entering Capricorn tomorrow at 5:12 AM.

Wednesday, July 1, 2015

Welcome to the first day of July...a month that holds a Full Moon on the first day AND a Full Moon on the last day. Talk about capstones on the calendar. The month is framed with heightened emotionality. Oh, well, it IS Cancer season...a time in which the movements of Luna pack a punch. So, yeah, makes sense.

This morning we wake up to the Moon entering Capricorn. Prior to this, Venus officially met Jupiter by conjunction (3:52 AM) and Juno left the two to enter Virgo. Hearts are still blooming within this waning fire trine. We feel alive. But, yet, there is a sense of responsibility that waxes into the equation under our Capricorn Moon. There is still work to be done.
At 1:34 PM, the Moon waxes into an ambiguous opposition with Mars in Cancer. Isn't that interesting? Our most masculine oriented body (Mars) is placed in our most feminine territory (Cancer) while our most feminine body (Moon) is placed in one of our most masculine signs (Capricorn). That's enough to make any homophobe shake in their boots., that's too bad. But, seriously, it could very well be a thing. Let's take a moment and look back on our week. Change, freedom of love and the ability to be exactly who you are had the potential to dance in the streets. Power was leveled out due this and that is scary as shit to those who once held the chains of oppression. Now those chains have been ripped away and there could be some panic that comes about due that fact. What happens in that instance is those that are losing power anxiously start grasping for straws in desperation. We will see this for awhile until the dust settles and the realization of “this change is the new normal, so, get over it” waxes in. The legalization of same sex marriage across the nation personifies this change and brings punctuation to it. However, we see much of the same reaction to other changes in our the blending of gender roles and the intolerance of race discrimination while the ability to be discriminatory in regard to these two entities ALSO washes away. Some find this change a welcome and long awaited thing. Others, however, find it terrifying and we will see some reactions in that regard as time moves forward. Some of those reactions could rear their ugly heads under this Full Moon. Emotions are heightened and that can sometimes cause overreaction in some form or another for better or worse.
What we are being called to do here is master and meet this incoming change with the personal authority we've recently been imbibed with through the Venus/Jupiter/Uranus trine. Stand bravely in the face of oppression that is clawing for the remnants of power and realize the lashing out is merely an act of desperation...bargaining til the death. In that brave stance, however, we are also called to circle the wagons and protect the element of Cancer...home, our emotional body, the soft underbelly. Walls come up in defense against the final flailings of a world ruled by greed and power lust. Oh. We've got longer to go than today to topple that hierarchy. But, at this point, that entity knows it is on the way out and could violently react to such. Protect yourself through that process.

As the Moon opposes Mars, she also creates a Cardinal Cross with our Nodal Axis which holds in orb all the way through our Full Moon which occurs only 4 degrees away. This pressure? It changes our future. How it plays out on a personal level has 100% to do with how willing we are to stretch to meet that call. Meeting the demands of the North Node is not a comfortable thing whether we are talking about the transiting North Node or the one we were born under. We have to reach for it while being thrust out of our comfort zones.
Meanwhile, there is a type of softening occurring...which is actually a GOOD thing. The Sun is waxing into trine with Neptune which perfects at 5:10 PM. The Moon joins this configuration through sextile at 10:00 PM just prior to the Full Moon perfecting. In that, there is a HUGE call to blur the lines on who we are and accept the fact that even with all our differences we are still of the same making. We still all share this planet. We still all have to figure out how to live here with one another and all our differences while also making effort to protect and ensure the viability of the planet for those that will follow in our newly laid footsteps. There is room for forgiveness, acceptance, and surrendering to the flow of circumstance that brings this evolving change into our awareness. The stoic and staunch could melt here or end up drowning themselves in their wallowing sorrow while others could simply melt into the release of emotionality as all this change becomes finally felt as really real. It's a process. We are certainly engaged in it. And, all the emotions connected with that comes out under this Moon for us to deal with.

This energy continues overnight and into our tomorrow but it does change a bit. The Moon moves from Full perfection while waxing into a conjunction with Pluto that perfects early on Thursday (5:57 AM). But, the pressure from this conjunction is felt under the Full Moon itself giving us a chance to really assess what is catalyzing our strong reactions below the surface of our psyche. There is potential for intimacy to be fostered or to grow but there is also the potential for demons to emerge depending upon how we are addressing this. Pluto has a tendency to operate that way. Some will make a deal with the Devil out of desperation under all this flux. Don't fall for it, Sweet Pea. The Devil often requires repayment that we cannot afford. You are much better off accepting the change and figuring out how to survive and endure it rather than bargaining for the old way of life to sustain. Yet, bargaining will occur as that is a documented stage of grief which is a process that goes hand in hand with any type of change. Don't look at which door is closing. Let it slam shut...because as it does, new doors of opportunity will swing open. These new doors could hold opportunities that we never even thought to think of under the old way of doing things. The inspiration for such is on it's way in, too, under tomorrow's sky.

Thursday, July 2, 2015

This morning, we wake up under the dissipating heaviness of the Moon leaving a conjunction with Pluto (5:57 AM). However, this day of Jupiter and Thor, actually falls more under the power of the Lightening God...just in time for the Moon's grand entrance into Aquarius.
At 2:50 PM, it is our winged messenger Mercury who zips into Uranus' orb sextile. Brains are firing on all cylinders now and inspiration comes quick like lighting through the mist. Time speeds up. Tongues and minds are sharp and without filter. And, as this occurs, we begin to feel the effects of the same enter into our emotional bodies.

The Moon squares off with Uranus at 3:59 PM. This can cause nervousness and anxiety to bubble up. So as your mind is racing, ensure that you are addressing the potential shakiness that could accompany that. Reach for grounding and patience. Drink more water instead of making things worse with artificial stimulants. Don't be impulsive. Wrangle that impulsiveness into brilliance. Don't allow anxiety to overtake you, head it off at the pass. Meanwhile, the Moon also creates a Yod with Mercury and Jupiter forming the base. We are called to commandeer some of these wild and expansive plans for the future. Take the bull by the horns. Greet this wildly expanding world by carving out your role in it while expecting that role to be a bit different than it was in the old way of doing things. It's exciting. But, aim to make that excitement work for you in the long run instead of against you. Experiment with the mixture if you need to never discounting a possibility until it has truly been proven non-viable. And, if it does, then move on to trying something else without giving up. Adjust your direction and method but don't stop in your tracks if your first attempt falls flat. This may, indeed, take awhile. I mean, we didn't get here overnight. We aren't going to walk out of it overnight either. There are a lot of things that will emerge from this wave of change that has enveloped the world that we didn't expect.
We have the power to stand strongly steady through this due the waxing sextile from the Moon to Saturn which perfects early in the morning and, subsequently, pushes the Moon into Void status for a few hours before entering Aquarius at 8:22 AM. Make Saturn your best friend and you'll traverse this influx of lightening just fine.

Sometimes, I find living in the “Home of the Brave and the Land of the Free” confusing. I'm fairly certain that fact has something to do with my generational Neptune in Sagittarius placement. You see, growing up, I heard stories about how some of my ancestors fled oppression from their home countries to build a new type of freedom in this country. Wrapped up in that story was tales of the folks that already lived on this land. A lot of those tales were...well, lies. In a large way, some folks apparently “fled oppression” just to exert it over someone else.

At the same time, I was given stories about how this country was a melting pot, “Send me your tired, your weak..” That was what the gift of the Statue of Liberty said, right? It kinda sends out this beacon that says, “If you can't find freedom and acceptance of who you are where you were born, come here! We'll accept you.” But, when I grew up and stepped out into this world as an adult, I found that it wasn't exactly set up like I had been told it was. As that veil fell, I was ridiculously disappointed. The veil dropping didn't stop there either. I discovered that not all folks who went into certain careers or held certain public offices were always out for the betterment of the country itself. On top of that, I discovered that the seemingly straight laced goody two shoe “greatest generation that lived” wasn't exactly as flowery and perfect as the image had been blurred to be. There was some dastardly shit that went down in that glorified past. You know? I thought politicians were out with the agenda to lead us and help build a stronger more supportive place for everybody. I thought their goal was to give us a strong voice of true representation. Wrong. There are plenty of sideways folks in politics and elsewhere in positions of power. I also thought all those who entered fields like healthcare, public safety and the like were all superheroes hell bent on serving the public's needs also in an effort to support our country. Um...not so much. There are SOME! I promise you! I've met them! And, MAN are THEY ever fighting an uphill battle. But, these folks are the minority out there right now.
I don't know how much I can believe in regard to what I've been taught about our forefathers. Honestly, I don't know how much I can believe about what I was told during the duration of my upbringing. I think a lot of that was prettied up perhaps in an effort to make nice coloring books or something, I don't know. But, it was largely fairy tale...that ended up in a crushed form of idealism. At any rate, these thoughts come back to me every Independence Day. I think about the holiday and what it is supposed to represent and mean. And, then, I subsequently ponder all the ways we've managed to collectively miss that mark as a society while still managing to achieve the status of First World Super Power. Can it be time to take strides toward living up to that name any time soon now? Please? Can we just be honest with ourselves and move forward toward a better way in light of that? Any minute now...
and Love always wins in the end. If Love hasn't yet won, it's because it ain't over

This morning we wake up to a Void Moon in Capricorn until she enters Aquarius at 8:22 AM. Aquarian energy is emotionally independent but it is also socially conscientious. How it uses that social awareness is up to the individual. You could use it to foster group think and lead a hoard of minions to their death in a suicide pact. You know? Or, you could use that social awareness to gather folks with a common goal and give them a positive group agenda. Energy has polarity, in case I've not driven that fact home yet. The call here is to gather your “people” around you. Your social family. Your friends. Your supportive networks. Those who share your agenda for various reason. It calls for collaboration and teamwork toward a common goal. It calls for support of individual expression while learning to work together in light of our differences. You can be you...the one and only 100% unique you. Then, you can use the power of “you” to enhance and work within a group that may not be exactly like you but shares a similar set of values while accepting you as you are and recognizing the unique elements you bring to the mix.

As this group gathers, the mass in the space continues to grow as they stare into the wide expanse of the road ahead. Mercury in Gemini meets Jupiter in Leo by sextile at 8:54 PM. The gathering could bring celebration and wild pontifications of plans for the future. Which, indeed, sounds really nice. The mood is mostly light and social. There is a whole lot of conversation happening and ideas are being exchanged at rapid pace. Time is flying. Which means we must be having a good time, right? The potential is certainly there. There is the matter of Jupiter still being inconjunct to Chiron and Mercury subsequently squaring this primordial pain. So, there may be some plans put in place by these gatherings of people that aims to address some of the emotional fall out created by this change. It can be just as a scary to free fall is it is to cower under staunch oppression. We go from being wrapped tightly to have a wide range of movement and that space can feel a bit daunting to some. Not to to some, it's a thing. We are in Cancer season, after all. We are prone to like our little secure and closed in spaces but in this instance we are thrust outward from our shells and could feel a bit exposed due that. Could be a bit uncomfortable, but it's time we got comfortable in our own skin and ditched the shame associated with nakedness anyway. Might as well start today. Let's go streaking. Ok, you go streaking and I'll sit back and cheer you on. How's that?

“Let freedom ring. Let the White Dove sing. Let the whole world know that today is a day of reckoning. Let the weak be strong. Let the right be wrong.”

This morning we wake up to the Moon in Aquarius who spends most of the day waxing into sextile with Uranus in Aries. Independence Day, indeed. We are ready to truly ring the bells of freedom and exalt ourselves out of the face of oppression. It's a beautiful day for that regardless of whether you join in traditional Independence Day celebrations or not. As a matter of fact, traditional may not fit the bill today. It might be time to think about new traditions and does it matter? We are having a party over here! It's time to lay down our differences and come together.

Emotional intensity built and crested mid-week. We've had plenty of time to gather our senses about that and regain a bit of stability. Today, let the remaining energy explode outward in celebration however that appeals to you. The day, overall, feels really good and that “feel good” is capped off by a Lunar opposition to Jupiter at 9:38 PM. You can be optimistic. You can now see that you can survive tremendous change. You know exactly where your support is the strongest so gather that around you and enjoy the hell out of it. I'm giving you permission just in case you feel like you need it. In reality, you don't need my nor anyone else's permission but there are some who are a bit more timid about giving themselves personal, here you go. Take it. Own it. Display it with gentle, humble pride in yourself while leaving others room to express the same. Embrace this energy with open arms. Ooooopen. Come on. You can do it. Group hug!

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for June 27, 2015

This morning we try to wake up under a Scorpio Moon in trine to Neptune and, potentially, the taste of salt water in our mouths. Well, that's what happens to me when there is a lot of Neptune. Beyond that, sleeping in just feels good. I hope you indulged in that if you could. The day is fairly subtle. It could be fairly introspective and, at times, emotive. But, overall, the mood is sedate. This feeling of sedation is accentuated by the Sun's waxing trine to Neptune, which is due to perfect on Wednesday just prior t our Full Moon.

By 6:07 PM the Moon is in a fortifying sextile with Pluto in Capricorn. This is deep and pushes us to assess those lingering leviathans of our being. We feel deeply. We grieve, if that is the case, deeply. Everything that we experience on an emotional level is felt deeply within our core and everything in our core is felt deeply. This emotional intensity and feeling of forbearance hangs with us for the duration of the day.

On a side note, if you are a gardener, today is the perfect day to plant a second round of something if you need to. For instance, I'm planting a second round of lettuce and harvesting the first. Last night, we transplanted some vines that were getting too much water. Cancer and Scorpio energy is wonderfully fertile and is certainly supportive of nurturing our “children” back to health or bringing dying plants back to life. With the Moon waxing, this is a good time to put new seeds in the ground that will bear fruit of flower above ground. After the Full Moon, while the Moon is still in Capricorn, that's a good time to harvest the plants that produce fruit below ground and subsequently sew a second round of those. In that instance I'm speaking of things like onions, carrots, radishes, etc. The combination of Lunar aspects and the position of the Sun makes today wonderfully fertile. I will also be planting flowers that I expect to bloom in the fall.

It's also a day that is good for being mindful of your irrigation methods. We've gotten a lot of rain in my area lately, so we will be digging small trenches alongside some of our plants to ensure proper drainage. Moon/Pluto energy supports that. And the window for this, right now, is fairly small. It closes when the Moon enters Sagittarius. You don't want to plant at that time. And, then it re-opens for above the ground fruit/flowers as the Moon enters Capricorn and BEFORE it reaches perfection at the Full Moon. After the Full Moon we have opportunities to pay attention to what blooms below ground throughout the duration of the Moon in Capricorn, then again under Moon in Pisces. Then, our last opportunity for planting below comes in under Moon in Taurus.
We've certainly got the influx of water on a personal level as well as coming from the sky. So it may be time to address our own “water” levels and, perhaps, deliberately come up for air from time to time. I've also found our current energy to be rather sexy and alluring. So, if you are trying to get pregnant or you just want to practice, there is plenty of space in today for that. Little Baby Pisceans are being conceived under this sky. Makes sense with all this water, right? The energy is Fertile Myrtle. For sure. You could feel the stirring in your loins as your body responds. Loins. Does anyone even use that word anymore? At any rate, the sensual and sexual magnetism between Cancer and Scorpio is, frankly, ridiculous. Lovely, sensual, beautiful and just WOW.

Today is soft, introspective, fertile, wet and sumptuous. It's not a day for force, but for gentleness and slowly subdued you are moving through water. It's a perfect day for really digging deep and getting in touch with your emotional body, expressing what you find and strengthening intimate bonds. We float more than we power forward. Lots of folks may never even see the Sun today either due to overcast weather or the fact that they never make it out of the bedroom or out of their shells. Tomorrow, things go deeper, get heavier and the intensity grows. Your best bet is to sink into it instead of trying to fight it.

Special announcement from Shock Therapy: This week and perhaps for the next few, I will trying something new on the blog. At this moment, I have several readings in queue. In an effort to better manage my energy and meet these requests in a more timely manner, I will be encompassing an entire weeks of Astrology into one post on Sunday. There will not be a daily post until I can get caught up. I may check in from time to time with a write up on the Full Moon and other major Lunar movements. But, I've not completely made my mind up about that, yet. Once I get a handle on this wonderful influx of work, I will decide if streamlining the posts is something I want to keep doing or if I want to go back to the daily write ups. Your opinion in that matters as well. So, let me know which one works best for you.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for June 26, 2015

This morning the Moon is Void in Libra until 1:58 PM when it enters Scorpio. Her first aspect is a supportive trine to Mars in Cancer. A lunar trine to Mars can be quite motivating. Our productivity is, however, dependent upon our mood. So, if we are feeling lazy and want to relax, our motivation follows that feeling. If we are feeling focused and energized, our motivation follows that road. Either way, this aspect assists us to get fully onboard with and engaged in whatever we are doing whether that is relaxing or working...though, I think relaxing will be higher on folks' priority lists today.

By midnight, the Moon is in harmonious trine with the Sun in Cancer. I don't know what it is about these two signs (Cancer and Scorpio) but they seem to mesh fairly well. To me, that “meshing” goes beyond just the compatibility of water signs. There is a certain type of attachment fostered between Cancer and Scorpio. Playing out in relationship, even when the circumstances of the relationship are horrible, Cancer and Scorpio will cling together. I've also seen stalking occur between the two signs coming from both directions. It's a weird dynamic that I've not figured out quite yet except that it does have to do with water, the Moon and Pluto. Happening in aspect, these two signs often manifest as cohesion between Ego and Emotion while producing a feeling of ease and reducing feelings of internal conflict at least temporarily. This energy is great for self-care and fostering a nesting space for healing. It's not overly ambitious or catalyzing. It's eased just enough that it is not overwhelming. However it can produce tears and emotionality since it does occur in water. If you need to purge, don't hold it back. If you need to stop caring for everyone else and take some time to focus on your care, DEFINITELY do so. Or, if you just want to go home and call it a night, you can do that too.

There is nothing overly harsh about this day. It's fairly quiet and dull in the morning followed by a brief uptick in energy around the Moon/Mars trine. Then, we enter our overnight hours with a potential point of ease. The day is watery, though. So know there may be some emotionality in our later hours. But, other than that, there is opportunity to gently move forward while preparing for the weekend. This is energy that produces internal synergy and cohesion while offering us a chance to refresh and rejuvenate. The “softening” and wateryness continues into our morning hours tomorrow with another water trine between the Moon and Neptune. Catch up on your rest and sleep in if you need to. Restoring your personal energy levels when given the opportunity is never a bad idea.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for June 25, 2015

Our Libra Moon is a busy body today. She starts off the morning in tense square to Pluto Rx in Capricorn (7:08 AM). This is kind of heavy and deep. It could bring controlling efforts from partners or toward our relationships. Or, it could just provide for a sense of introspection early in our day. Things lighten up around midday as the Moon dances with Venus in Leo by sextile at 1:17 PM. From here, she waxes into an opposition with Uranus in Aries (6:21 PM) and sextile with Jupiter (7:24 PM). After visiting with Jupiter, the Moon is Void until entering Scorpio at 1:48 PM tomorrow.

Ahhh, bliss! Finally an extended break for our emotional systems! Our VOC Moons have been short as of late lasting only an hour at most. But, tonight, the lights go out on the Moon for nearly 16 hours. Of course, our early hours could be wracked with moodiness due the fluctuations of the Moon. Our emotions may feel like pool table balls before we reach the VOC period. But, the release is waiting for us at the end of the day. At the very least, things are busy in the meat of the day with the Moon passing between the waning Jupiter/Uranus trine. But, with the sextile to Venus it sounds like pleasurable busy-ness and not something we have to bust our knuckles over. The opposition to Uranus could produce a nervous and unsettled feeling. Yet with Jupiter involved that unsettled feeling could be expressed as giggles, laughter and giddy excitement.

There are a few caution flags overlaying this day. But, overall, we could feel pretty good and could, joyfully, make a little headway. Then, tonight, we can kick back and relax as we wait for the primordial waves of a Scorpio Moon to wax in. Tomorrow begins under a Void Moon but our later afternoon hours look fairly light and productive. Saturday looks relaxed and full of ease. As a matter of fact, we don't meet with too much tension (other than the typical depth brought from Scorpio), until the Moon meets with Saturn in Scorpio by conjunction on Sunday night. After today's little “bumps” (Moon square Pluto and opposite Uranus) it looks like a smooth ride into the weekend. I'll take it!

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for June 24, 2015

This morning we wake up under an umbrella of tension created by our First Quarter Moon which pits a Libra Moon against a Cancer Sun by square at 2 degrees 38 minutes Cardinal (7:04 AM). This occurs about a half an hour after Chiron stations retrograde at 21 Pisces 33. Our wounded healer's energy is strong these days as he has been preparing to switch direction. Now, he will wobble backward for awhile.

Then, at 9:34 AM, Mars shifts into Cancer bringing a new vibe to duty and motivation. Mars in Cancer is motivated to act according to the emotional body. Meaning, motivation and ambition can change with your mood. This placement can also bring anger and conflictual emotions to the home front. However, Mars in Cancer can also be used in defense of the home. It took me a while to figure that one out. My husband and I have composite Mars in Cancer involved in a massive Cardinal Cross that includes our composite Sun/Venus in Libra, Chiron/Moon in Aries and Jupiter/NN in Capricorn. In the beginning of our relationship, we fought quite a bit. After looking at our composite and after trying to wrangle this Cross for some time, I discovered that not only could Mars in Cancer cause attacks or fights on the home front. But, it could also be used to defend and support the home and the relationship from attack even if that home needed to be protected from ourselves from time to time. That realization changed the dynamic significantly. It became the responsibility of each of us to learn how to deal with our anger and frustration appropriately in order to defend this third entity (our relationship/home) that we had created together. It was our choice. We could fight over what we individually felt was important (Mars/Venus) and continually wound the relationship (Chiron/Moon) and one another, or we could strive to do the right thing (Mars/Jupiter) and defend our shelter (Mars in Cancer) even if it meant dealing with ourselves (Sun) on an individual level first and subsequently foster healing (Moon/Chiron). A mutual agreement to swing the dynamic of the energy created between the two of us (along with the mutual motivation to save the relationship instead of sink it) is probably what saved our marriage. The message was THAT clear. The change it caused in perspective worked like flipping a switch in regard to how this energy manifested.

That being said, Mars is involved in this First Quarter Moon by square to the Moon itself. There could be arguments and disagreements that brew internally...between family members and within relationships. While it's easy to direct our anger at the other, if the relationship with these folks is important, then we should deal with our anger appropriately and instead of shooting Mars energy into the relationship, direct it outward in defense. Even if those defensive efforts are used to hold ourselves at bay until we can appropriately address whatever the situation may be. You can circle the wagons, but if there is fighting within the ranks, your defensive measures are weakened and the “boundary” of your relationship becomes weakened and open to attack not only from the inside but also from the outside.
Assessment of power within the dynamic of relationships (be they work relationships, those within family units or those between 2 or more people) is about to become a growing “thing”. Our Full Moon on July 1 falls conspicuously close to Pluto Rx. The Sun perfects in opposition to Pluto officially on July 5. Then, Mars repeats this opposition to Pluto Rx on July 15 while the Moon is in Cancer also opposing Pluto. Mercury ALSO opposes Pluto on the same day---which, by the way, is also the day of our New Moon in Cancer. So as this energy ingresses into Cancer, it begins to boil under the heat of Pluto and Mars. It says, “It's time to stop pointing fingers of blame and, instead, be accountable for our role in whatever the problem is. Then, come together in an effort to solve said problem instead of fighting over its cause.” Or, blow the whole thing to smithereens. In some instances, it may be a good idea to blow the relationship to bits. But, if the relationship is worth saving, you may want to remind yourself of the defensive measures that Mars in Cancer is capable of.

At any rate, that's what is coming down the pike. The energy connected with the Full Moon in a week begins increasing in intensity from here. The heat is placed under our kettle today and it will be at a full rolling boil by the Full Moon. Then, we are given a chance to begin again under the New Moon in Cancer. How that new beginning is fostered and the circumstances that we find ourselves in at that time is largely dependent upon how we deal with ourselves on the way there.

Today, though, the energy is rather crunchy pitting elements of Cancer (home, family, emotions) against the elements of Libra (relationships, partnerships, the “other”). The assessment of worth within these elements begins and we are pushed to respond with either anger or defensive measures. In the process, folks may be on edge due the tension within the core relationships of their lives. So keep that in mind while interacting with folks with public. Meanwhile, assess your own relationships and decide what is worth saving versus what needs to change or be released. Is it time to stand your individual ground? Or is it time to lay down your self-defensive measures and come together in an effort to save the connection? That's entirely up to you.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for June 23, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Moon in Virgo leaving an opposition with Chiron and an inconjunct with Uranus in Aries. Meanwhile, Mercury is tightening in square to Neptune. This perfects at 2:09 PM and is followed, tonight, by a slew of crunchy Mars aspects.

First, with the Moon's opposition to Chiron and subsequent inconjunct to Uranus, we are given opportunity to assess and triage our healing. Are we healing? Or are we continually re-injuring ourselves? Some may only feel the pain and react. However, the more beneficial idea is to feel the pain if its present and respond. Pain is one of our body's ways of telling us something is wrong. Chiron's energy is particularly strong right now as he quivers in his station preparing to turn retrograde tomorrow. Emotional pain is just as relevant as physical pain and should be treated with the same care as a physical injury. Neither wound (physical or emotional) should be ignored or allowed to fester. Give yourself the healing that you need and if you are incapable of addressing it on your own, then seek expert advice (inconjunct Uranus).

Not only do we need to beware of re-injuring ourselves and pay heed to the fall out from that, there is prime opportunity for an original injury here with the “rushy” energy that Uranus provides accompanied with the potential brain fog that Mercury square Neptune delivers. There is a high probability of being distracted while we are rushing around doing what needs to be done on our task lists. Distraction + Rush = prime set up for careless accidents. Be careful and alert out there while being a responsible caretaker of your own stuff be that illness, injury or emotionality. We are still under the fire trine between Jupiter and Uranus. The feeling of quick expansion and rush, is a thing. Slow down.

This afternoon, Mars lingers at the end degree of Gemini where he finds himself at an inconjunct with Saturn at 2:37 PM. This feels like drag and exhaustion...trudging. Later tonight, the Moon will sextile Saturn and square Mars bringing punctuation to this set up. Our emotional bodies are processing all that needs to be done. It seems like the list is at critical mass and moving forward is a slow and tedious adventure. So, we begin prioritizing and laying out an attack plan as Saturn and the Moon get down to business. The feel of Moon square Mars is agitating and could affect our ability to rest. After the square to Mars, though, the Moon reaches Void status (1:13 AM) for a brief 30 minutes before entering Libra at 1:42 AM on the 24th. As the lights come back on the Moon, pressure resumes under our waxing First Quarter Moon that perfects early in the morning as Chiron stations retrograde and just prior to Mars entering Cancer. Shifty, indeed.

Although Mercury square Neptune hazes up the day, the pressure that is exuding from the sky is felt by our emotional bodies as well as our physical bodies. We may not understand why we feel the way we do. As a matter of fact, there may be times when we don't understand a darn thing because, in some areas, it's too hot, hazy and humid to be able to think. You know those days when it is so hot you can look out at the road and it looks all mirage-y? Like it's flowing or melting or there is some ethereal haze creeping up from it? Or when there is a rainstorm and that is followed by tremendous heat that causes fog to emerge from the pavement like ghosts from the grave? Yeah, it's a lot like that. I find that disorienting; but, it is a wonderful depiction of the effects of Mercury square Neptune. Our eyes can deceive us by putting an oasis in our desert when none truly exits. Plus, yes, there is a chance for some wonky weather under a sky like this. As above, so below. As within, so without. The thunderstorm could very well occur within us, too.

The entirety of this day and how it should be treated can be captured with one statement, “Heal thyself.” I know you are busy. I know you have responsibilities. I know you have a long list of things to do. But, if we ignore our own needs, illnesses and injuries we could truly set ourselves up for failure or an extended debilitation that keeps us from accomplishing anything. Self-care is that important. Carve out some space in your day for that while remaining alert to emerging hazards. Expect folks to be distracted on the roads and drive defensively. Expect folks to be confused from time to time and use the Virgo powers we are currently imbibed with to sort your way through the confusion. Expect emotional energy to rise and get well positioned and centered to deal with that. Try to maintain a sense of humor and laugh at yourself as necessary. But, above all, be good to yourself and leave plenty of room for others to process whatever they need to while making some space for yourself as well.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for June 22, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Moon in Virgo making a mutable t-square with Mercury in Gemini (6:28 AM) and Neptune in Pisces (8:40 AM). This overlays the meat of the morning. Sagittarius is the missing leg that would make this a mutable grand cross. So, in the event of confusion, reach for the truth and the broader perspective to clear things up a bit. Know, however, that brain fog could very well be a thing under this sky and focus could be elusive particularly in the early AM.

Underneath that fog, lightning is striking as Jupiter perfects in trine to Uranus at 9:46 AM. This aspect is about as tame as a wild pony. But, it isn't something that waxes in harshly. However, it does bring the potential for wildly intelligent high-brow humor, unexpected opportunity, a sudden change in luck, an impromptu vacation or travel and much more. Events connected with this trine can be higher mind blowing, bringing expansion to our more developed intelligences or incorporating spiritual beliefs into scientific methods or experimentation. As a matter of fact, experimenting (Uranus) with different belief systems (Jupiter) could also be a thing. In a big way, this energy encourages you to be honest with yourself and others and to step out of your “shell” just as you are, 100% real and true to yourself regardless of what that end product looks like saying, “This is me; this is who I am” without abandon.
By 6:24 PM the Moon in Virgo is trining Pluto bringing power to our emotional body. Emotional strength and bravery waxes into the equation...not to mention endurance. The fuel (Pluto) for our shiny new (Jupiter) robot (Uranus) has arrived---HA! Artificial intelligence integration complete. Sorry. I think I just went all super (Jupiter) nerd (Uranus). It happens.

Today is mostly weird, folks. That is entertaining for some and nerve taxing for others. I'm ok with weird and unusual. The morning looks a little confusing and foggy on the negative pole and brilliantly imaginative on the other. While Jupiter and Uranus can bring inspiration, hope and humor to the future they can also increase anxieties for those with Moon's prone to such to begin with. Under a Virgo Moon, we are tasked with bringing all this to practical use and that is entirely possible as that Moon is imbibed with super powers herself (x-ray vision to be precise) through her trine with Pluto. Perhaps an unusual candidate (Uranus) for the Presidency (Jupiter) in the US will throw their hat in the ring. Perhaps, we all could be heroes for the day. Or, at the very least, we may finally get that new trendy haircut we've been thinking about. Take a little risk. Put yourself out there. Bravely be you. Or Wonder Woman...or Superman, or Batman, or Spiderman...but not Aquaman. Nobody wants to be Aquaman.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for June 21, 2015

This morning we wake up to a nice and potentially busy Leo Moon in sextile to Mars in Gemini (8:54 AM). The thing is, though, if we take off running out of of the gate this morning, there is a chance we could end up hitting a wall about midday. At around Noon we meet with drag created by a lunar square to Saturn in Scorpio. This is heavy and potentially depressive. To use it deliberately, you are going to want to aim for grounding, responsibility and fortitude. Know that the word “forbearance” certainly applies to our emotions at midday. We need to be responsible wardens of the same. Saturn is back in Scorpio now. So this energy pits the Lion against the Scorpion. I find that energy much heavier than a mutable square from Luna to Saturn in Sagittarius. Saturn in Scorpio is very heavy.
Remember this beast? The Scorpiolion? He's back.
Something I would like to also point out about the energy we have today. Several planets are in their shadow. Venus enters her shadow today. Mercury still lingers in his retrograde shadow even though his energy is leveling out. There is review still happening here. Things are resolving on a Mercurian level, but they are not completely unwound until Mercury exits his shadow next weekend. Saturn is retrograde, so, of course, also still in shadow and Neptune is following suit. There is nothing WILD or WRONG with any of that. But, it is a fact that is beneficial to remember because it can stir echoes bringing past events to the fore and, with Neptune, stripping away delusions or veils that were created around these past events along the way. Plus, with Venus direct and in her shadow some events that are occurring now may be revisited during her retrograde. Mercury in his shadow and within proximity to Neptune can assist that time-warpy feel in transpiring.

With Saturn Rx, he has passed over this ground once already. In that first passage, we learned. In the second pass, we re-experience and have a chance to consider what is we have learned. The experiences we have may not be carbon copies of the experiences we had that brought the initial lesson. But, they are of the same flavor and it can produce, at least, a mild inkling of PTSD-like symptoms. Then again, if you were not following the harsh lessons of Saturn in Scorpio when he was on his way out of the sign before, that fact may come back to haunt you now. As an extreme example, if you murdered someone as Saturn was leaving Scorpio, the body is likely to be found during his retrograde. When he is direct and moves over this point again, you are arrested and put on trial. Neptune Rx in Pisces is notorious for bringing floating bodies to the surface of the water. Just throwing that in there in case you tried to sink someone literally or metaphorically. Bear in mind, that, yes, this is an VERY extreme example. I'm not sure that many criminals or crooks even read astrology write ups. However, it is highly likely that crimes committed during Saturn's passage out of Scorpio will be discovered in his retrograde days and news of such does bear stark impact upon the collective. Lost or hidden bodies are discovered. Saturn is grimacing as this occurs saying, “And you thought you got away with it...didn't you?” That being said, mentally revisit the time in which Saturn was exiting Scorpio and prepare for echoes.

Gather your lessons from that time and get ready to employ them, or in the very least, test them out. Saturn was originally tracing the degrees he is retracing now between November and December of last year—around the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas, to give you a point of reference. He entered Sagittarius on December 24, 2014. Mostly what I remember from that time period is not being interested in the holidays at all. It was the first year in my 42 years on this planet that I did not decorate a single Christmas Tree. I simply was not in the mood. It didn't feel like the holidays. That solstice came and went and I was seriously not even interested. Now, here we are, at another solstice and Saturn in Scorpio's heaviness is back to greet it too. Now my bah-humbug is falling around the celebrations due to occur on July 4th. The “feel” of celebration is just not there. The call to perform in the face of tradition, gone. You may find similar echoes in your sphere that point back to that place in time too.
After the square to Saturn at midday, the Moon is briefly Void for about 40 minutes until entering Virgo at 12:59 PM. As the Moon is Void, the Sun skirts over into Cancer at 12:38 PM. Um...shifty and interesting. This evening's feel is quite different than the morning's and that can be a bit disorienting. By, 1:01 PM, the Sun and Moon are in nice sextile. Meanwhile, Venus perfects in an inconjunct to Pluto. As she moves from 14 degrees Leo toward 20 degrees Leo (where Jupiter is sitting), she bridges this inconjunct with Pluto and recombines Jupiter's energy into it (who is otherwise pretty much out of orb by 6 degrees). Yet, Venus carries the torch that re-ignites that. We also should not forget that Jupiter is holding an inconjunct with Chiron in Pisces who is due to turn Rx on June 24 and subsequently tighten in orb within that inconjunct. Venus is trine to Uranus and conjunct Jupiter as the inconjunct between Jupiter and Chiron Rx re-perfects on June 30th. On that day, the Moon is in Sagittarius catalyzing the entire thing with fire trines right on the precipice of our Full Moon in Capricorn. What I'm trying to tell you here is that a small bubbling in matters of Venus is occurring right now. As we near the Full Moon, that pot may threaten to boil over and/or explode at the Full Moon. This week, things get shaky under the First Quarter Moon in preparation for that. The heat is turned up and we are being called to tend to and protect that which we hold at value consciously and deliberately.
On top of that, with the Sun entering Cancer, our solar bodies now answer to the movements of the Moon. Moodiness and heightened emotionality is about to become a “thing.” In that we are called to be our own parent...our own mother, working to redirect ourselves and nurture our emotional bodies appropriately. Tend to the tantrums of your inner child effectively.

Overall, this morning starts off with the promise of being busy and active. However, there is the heaviness of Moon/Saturn to contend with in all that. It's difficult to make progress but the progress we do make will be solid...remember the trudging? It's back. However, this evening the energy shifts a little giving us a chance to pull back, go home and recuperate. Yet, even within that slim point of ease, we can feel the darkness lingering under the inconjunct from Venus to Jupiter...honestly, this reminds me of heartburn which is definitely a possibility with Moon in Virgo. However, it manifests and however you feel about it, don't ignore it. Be a responsible self-caretaker and give yourself what you need. Our VOC Moons are brief for awhile. We aren't getting many breaks emotionally so we are going to have to take it upon ourselves to make room for one when it is needed. Tonight is an excellent time to carve out some space for that.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Saturday, June 20, 2015

On the surface of today, things look wonderful! It's a great day for adventuring or getting out to try something new. Weather-wise, things do look quite heated...meaning, it's likely to be a very bright, sunny and hot day in many areas. Mercury and Neptune have settled down in their new directions by now. However, they are still waxing into square. So, yeah, there could be a few rainclouds to contend with due that. But, I'm not looking for many of them. This day is mostly geared to get us off the couch and out and about particularly in our early evening hours.

This morning we wake up to the Moon in Leo. She passes by Pluto by inconjunct early this morning (6:39 AM). The rest of the day, she spends waxing into a conjunction with Jupiter in Leo (4:38 PM) and trine with Uranus in Aries (5:08 PM). This lovely fire trine is great for outdoor games and cookouts. It's baseball season for many of our youth meaning lots of parents will be parked at the ball field being spectators and sideline coaches. Outside of official sporting events, though, there is plenty of room to become active in whatever you should choose. Just don't forget to seek out some shade from time to time and remain hydrated so you don't become overheated. If you are planning an event for Father's Day, I think today looks much more amicable for such than tomorrow. Today is light, friendly and active; whereas, tomorrow is colored mostly by a heavier more stoic Moon/Saturn square.

It's a great night to camp out under the stars or simply arrange a small gathering of friends for a taste of fun and socialization. Traveling can also be on the agenda. Just be mindful of the waxing square between Mercury and Neptune (which is nothing compared to the Mercury/Neptune mess we have been contending with in the recent past). Double check your travel plans and take a real map in the event that your GPS decides to go all screwy. Stay alert on the road. Otherwise, get out, move around, see, do and connect with others. If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, give yourself permission to take a break from “adult world” worries and engage in something fun and playful. The world won't stop spinning if you lay your work down for one day of play, I promise. Besides, you deserve it.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Friday, June 19, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Moon in fiery Leo. Her first and only major aspect within this day is a sextile to Mercury in Gemini at 3:36 PM. This is chatty busy and forward moving. Air mixed with fire has a tendency to be that way. Still yet, there is also a sense of leisure and pleasure wrapped up with the potential chattiness as the Moon is also waxing into a conjunction with Venus that perfects in our deep twilight hours (3:59 AM).

There are some minor lunar aspects sprinkled throughout the day too. The Moon passes in sesquisquare to Chiron 2:55 PM while forming an inconjunct to Neptune at 9:12 PM. This is followed by a semi-sextile to Mars at 1:36 AM. These minor aspects typically make up the subtle nuances of our day. Often, they slip by unnoticed unless you have a personal planet involved.

Overall, though, the day looks pretty good. It is Friday. We gear up for the weekend by touching base with the folks in our circle and discussing leisure plans for the weekend. Some may embark on a short weekend trip or plan an informal friendly get together. The energy is busy and active but not in an overwhelming way. It's filled more with gentle excitement and promise than harshness and emotionality. That sounds pretty nice to me. Enjoy this subtle energy and make plans to be actively engaged tomorrow under a sky that holds the potential for a flurry of event and adventure.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for June 18, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Cancer Moon squaring Uranus in Aries (7:24 AM). Our batteries get a jolt right out of the gate this morning with potential unsettling news of the unexpected. This aspect can bring nervousness, anxiety, jitteryness or provide for a bit of emotional detachment. We may want to buck our morning routine, mix things up or there could be unexpected events that occur within those routines that mix things up for us.

My husband and I were discussing our evening routine with our neighbor last night. When we finished filling him in our habits, we looked at each other and smiled. It's nice to have a routine for a change. Things have been pretty wild on a daily basis around here. So, it's pretty nice to have been experiencing “Business as usual” for the past week. Sometimes, boring is good. However, a morning with Moon square Uranus doesn't sound boring to me. It sounds more unpredictable and, perhaps, hurried to me.

After the Moon squares Uranus, though, things settle down a bit. Perhaps they even grow a little more quiet. At about 10:30 AM, the Moon trines Chiron in Pisces. This is a subtle and quiet aspect...fairly introspective. This water trine is followed by a second water trine from the Moon to Saturn in Scorpio at 1:52 AM. This is stabilizing, solid and grounding giving us something to firmly plant our feet on. From here, the Moon is Void for a brief half hour before passing into Leo at 2:23 AM.
Tomorrow and the weekend look fairly nice with a fiery Moon in play. Friday is chatty and busy but not too heavy. Saturday is exuberant and adventurous filled with opportunity to engage in summertime pleasures. The only harshness I see waxes in on Sunday as the Moon squares Saturn in Scorpio at about Noon prior to going Void on Father's Day. Then, the entire sky shifts with the Moon moving to Virgo and the Sun moving to Cancer. Energy is moving and shaking anyway as Jupiter and Uranus tighten in trine due for perfection on Monday.

Today, navigate the morning with alertness and flexibility. The rest of the day quiets down and becomes more solid allowing us to get down to business and get our feet underneath us. It's not particularly harsh. Hopefully, it's more boring and routine than anything.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for June 17, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Moon in Cancer waxing into trine with Neptune in Pisces (12:41 PM). This is rather mushy. When I think of this aspect occurring from Cancer to Pisces I see a big sea sponge. And, that is likely how this plays out. We are absorbent. Sensitive. Moisture surrounds us but it also keeps us alive. Drink more water. You knew I was going to say that, right? Neptune is newly retrograde. However, even when he is running backward, many of the same guidelines for dealing with his transits apply. When we are under the gun of Neptune, our emotional sensitivity does increase. Due this fact, I typically recommend cutting down on the amount of chemicals and stimulants you take into your body because their effects can be felt more acutely under a sensitive Neptune transit. However, staying well hydrated helps to calm things down a bit. It makes sense if you think about it. Don't dump pollutants into your inner ocean. At the same time, Neptune transits can increase sleepiness, grogginess and drowsiness. So, these are the days when we reach for that extra cup of coffee (or five) or some other type of stimulant (soda, energy drinks, sugary foods) to jolt ourselves into a more awakened state. In the end, this “quick fix” depletes us and makes us feel worse. Whereas working to build a foundation of true energy through increasing water intake and leaning toward eating energy supportive foods helps us feel more stable.

After the Moon wanes from her trine with Neptune, she begins waxing into opposition with Pluto (9:43 PM). The night is dark, dark, dark and we may find ourselves retreating to our shells in an effort to avoid the wolf at the door. This set up of Neptune/Moon followed by Pluto/Moon looks a lot like a set up for paranoia. Be wary of that. It also, at it's most negative pole, can indicate a feeling of emotional hollowness (Neptune) followed by a desperate reaching out in an effort to control (Pluto). Actually, that “reaching out” looks a lot more like clawing at the ground in an attempt to keep from being washed away or lost. The more positive pole has us releasing our grip and floating with the tides while fostering the bravery and endurance to trust in the process. We realize we don't have to stranglehold something in order to love it. We can let it go, grieve if necessary, but keep on loving it while subsequently gifting it with freedom.

Dealing with the emptiness in your gut can be difficult. Especially if that emptiness (Neptune) is followed by an intense craving and accompanied with fear and paranoia (Pluto). There may be a bit of emotional eating today as many try to fill that insatiable ache. Some may revert to emotional manipulation in an effort to bring assurance and control to their fears and paranoia. Again, this is all occurs on the negative pole---which is found on the path of least resistance. In other words, it sneaks up on you when you are not deliberately employing the energy. And, when it does, it chooses the easiest route for itself...which for us humans, is not always the most favorable one. So, to employ this energy deliberately, proactively address your emotions...which we will get more practice with when Mars enters Cancer (June 24). Defend your soft underbelly and surrender to the building flow of the tides. Don't try to swim against the current. Flow with it instead. Surround yourself with the positive influence of Neptune, music, poetry, art, dreaming...NAPS!

Let go of any desire to control the folks and circumstances around you while being acutely aware (like you will have a choice) of any manipulative attempts to control you. Dig deep into your emotional body and find the toxins. Then, purge them. Let Pluto draw them to the surface and subsequently surrender them to the waters. Find a quiet space and address your emotional wounds. Or, if you find yourself well positioned and pumped full of love, allow that cup to gently overflow into the potentially dry cups of others. That's a “sickness” worth spreading. However, know today will likely prompt you to want to retreat a bit. If you have to be out in the world, pack a few reminders of home with you. At our last Cancer Moon, I brought a plant from home to sit next to my desk at my office, as an example. You can also pack your lunch from home or bring some pictures of your loved ones/family to carry with you or to place near you while at work. If you are embarking on travel, pack your favorite pillow and blanket or other favorite creature comforts. National take your favorite stuffed animal to work day? Why not? Ok, that may be a bit out there for some; but, I think you catch my drift.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for June 16, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Moon in Gemini leaving a square with Chiron (3:40 AM) and waxing into a conjunction with Mars (9:06 AM). At 10:06 AM our New Moon in Gemini perfects at 25 degrees. From here, the Moon is Void until entering Cancer at 6:51 PM.

We start the day off chatty and busy. If we roll with that early on, we could get a lot accomplished today. Overlaying that, there is a lot of chatter and much information is exchanged. There is plenty to talk about as Mercury direct and Neptune retrograde are working in tandem to tear down veils and let the truth emerge.
The New Moon itself feels very progressive. Opportunities for new beginnings abound. But, this is just the first step. The door opens, or several doors open, and we are tasked with mustering up the courage and self-confidence to choose one to step through. We have already had our graduation under the Full Moon in Sagittarius. Now all the school kids are out for the summer. Their lives are suspended momentarily and, of course, the daily routines and even the peers they may hang out with will change due to being at home instead of being at school. It's change, but it is expected change that occurs for school children every year. Do you think, overall, they mind this adjustment? Because, I'm thinking, not so much. No more classrooms, no more books, no more of teacher's dirty looks?

The New Moon in Gemini marks a time of increased activity, road trips, meeting and making new friends while out adventuring, learning new things outside a traditional classroom, summer workshops, outdoor plays, activity camps, fireflies...I love fireflies. And, tonight would likely be a good night to see those fireflies under a completely moonless sky. It's also a good night to entertain the brilliance of the stars.

Upon her shoulders, this New Moon carries not only opportunity but also, hope and the promise of a lot of activity. Underneath the action and chatter though, there is a square from the New Moon to BML in Virgo as it also opposes Pholus in Sagittarius and squares Eris in Aries. This is a reminder to connect and embrace the natural wild instead of trying to contain, hide, shame or tame her (Lilith). Dismiss interaction with chemicals that hinder your judgment and instead soberly make decisions based on what is best in the long term instead of what simply serves to please others “in the moment” (Pholus). And, don't let the wild promptings of someone else catalyze you into acting a fool (Eris). Weed out the unnecessary chatter. Listen for the truth both from your inner world and the outside world and employ that truth upon your path forward. Don't be afraid to mix things up a little. Try something new. Take a summer class. Speak your truth. Make a new friend. Put your seatbelt on and take a road trip. See a movie. Test out a new genre of music. See an outdoor concert or play. Get out there and join in.
