This morning we wake up to the Moon
still active in Taurus. Tonight, we will encounter our New Moon in
the sign just after midnight. In other Astrological news, though, our
sky is pretty active right now. Venus is busy hanging around Neptune.
Mercury is about to turn retrograde. Mars is pulling himself away
from his opposition with Saturn. Soon, the Sun will leave the fields
of Taurus and enter the chatty atmosphere of Gemini. Stuff is
shifting all around..which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But, it is
change none-the-less. Start limbering up to answer the incoming
mutable call.
I've got to tell you, though, the
majority of Gemini solar returns I've looked at seem fairly harsh.
Last year, I saw a lot of flux in our Aries Solar Returns. Remember?
Mars was retrograde and in his detriment ALL through Aries Season
last year. We endured it collectively. But, Aries Suns were stuck
with that mess ALL YEAR. This year, Aries Solar Returns were pretty
sweet. It's Gemini's turn now. Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, is all
wonked up for the majority of the season if he is in his home sign.
He's retrograde and lingering around Saturn and Neptune
and...well...yuck. Plus, right now, right this minute as I'm typing
this and as our New Moon waxes in, Mercury is sitting at the base of
Yod in sextile to Jupiter. Jupiter and Mercury both are inconjunct to
Pluto Rx. And, this Yod has some serious hangtime. As a matter of
fact, on THE DAY that the Sun enters Gemini (May 21) Mercury will
have flipped Rx and the inconjunct between Jupiter and Pluto will be
perfecting. Not only that, but on the same day, Venus perfects in
opposition to Pluto and square to Uranus while the Moon is also
conjunct her in Cancer. That, my friends, is the FIRST DAY of Gemini
season...don't kill the messenger. Er, perhaps I should say, it's not
the author of this blog's fault. There will likely be times when we
would like to kill the actual “messenger” that is Mercury, I'm
just saying. My Saturn in Gemini grimaces at the thought. The rest of
my mutable planets aren't too thrilled about it either.
Today, it's important to look ahead and
see what is coming down the pike. Many will be setting New Moon
intentions in the midst of impending flux. We've trudged and trudged
through Taurus season, now it's time to declare what type of ground
it is we truly stand on. To do that, we are going to have to operate
with this Pluto Yod which is so apparent in the Taurus New Moon
chart. The fact that the New Moon is also conjunct the severed head
of Medusa (Algol) sometimes referred to as a star of bad omens, you'd
think I'd be telling you to make sure you have your head on straight.
But, no. That's mainly due the fact that our heads and logic systems
are basically a hopeless case right now. I'm more inclined to advise
you to make sure your heart is in the right place. I feel that
telling you to leave your logical brain out of the equation today is
better advice. Venus is the body that rules this New Moon so her
position is of importance too. She is still in tight trine to Neptune
and swimming in the warm waters of Cancer bringing appreciation to
the principles of home, family and nurturing. Instead of gathering
your thoughts, gather your loved ones over a good meal. Look for what
is solid true and supportive in your life. Reach for what is tangible
rather than trying to logic your way through this New Moon. Unplug.
Step into the real world. Follow the callings of your heart to
discover what it is that you truly yearn for and give it a big hug.
Early this morning, the Moon finds
Jupiter in Leo by square at 3:45 AM. Then, our Taurus Moon dances
upon enriched soil with Pluto shortly after (4:39 AM). At midday,
there is a Moon/Chiron sextile that reminds us of our humanness while
also remaining supportive. Then, tonight, in the darkest of the dark,
under a blanket of stars the New Moon wafts in on a nice warm breeze.
Today is subdued, relaxed, indulgent and solid. Again, there isn't
much room for ambition..this is a weekend for truly unwinding and
recuperating. Monday is...well...crappy looking to be quite honest.
So, let's not worry about that for today. Today, lets keep our feet
propped up and simply watch the grass grow. Let's gather round our
friends and share comfort food and love. Let the cares of the world
melt away and opt for laying back in whatever makes you feel
comfortable. Give yourself permission to lay the tools down and enjoy
the fruits of your labors. Melt into it. You deserve it. Let there be
no regrets.
