Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Sunday, May 31, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Moon in Scorpio waxing away from a trine with Neptune (00:31 AM) as the Sun waxes toward Neptune via square. I see melting here and a need to flush out the watery parts of ourselves. What I mean by that can occur in a couple of different ways. First, drink lots of clean clear water to flush out your system literally. Or, purge emotionally in an effort to expel more dank emotions and subsequently making room for fresh emotions to enter. Flush. Purge. Detox. Exorcise and cast out demons.

I've an inkling that the call I'm feeling toward this comes both from the Sun's square to Neptune and our current lunar position in which the Moon in Scorpio is also sextiling her current ruler Pluto. Sun in square to Neptune calls for us to dissolve and relax the drives of our ego momentarily while Pluto in any form acts as a drawing poultice. So, what we have here is a dissolving accompanied with ugly floating to the surface on both a bodily and emotional level all of which needs to be expelled. Plus, all this is occurring under a building Moon. As the Moon and emotions build, these toxins gain in ferocity if we choose to hang on to them instead of release. In an effort to be well prepared for our exuberant Moon in Sagittarius, we will want our waters (emotions) to be as pure and clean as possible. Today is the day to use to address that.

Furthermore, we are operating under a Yod with the Moon in Scorpio, Pluto in Capricorn and Mars in Gemini for most of the morning. The more effectively we flush out our emotional body (Moon/Pluto), the more effectively we operate (Mars). The more we purge the easier it is to decide where are ambitions need to be directed. The cleaner our machine, the more efficient its operation becomes. Make sense?
The last leg of this Moon phase (leading to our Full Moon in Sagittarius) reminds me A LOT of the times I've witnessed folks being baptized. First, a group gathers together (Libra Moon). Then, a preacher leads a person into the water and begins praying over him as he/she is shoved underwater (Scorpio Moon). While the person is under the water, it is said that something is transformed. They surrender their attachment to “wordly things” and open themselves up to acceptance of a higher power (Sun/Neptune). When the person re-emerges from the water, their energy is often exploding with hallelujahs and exaltation (Full Moon in Sagittarius). There is a symbolic death, surrender and subsequent release that occurs here. Today, we are shoved under the water and tasked with letting go, purging, restoring, sifting out the silt and preparing to re-emerge renewed and exuberant.

Of course, the energy of today's sky reminds me of other things too. Like an athlete preparing for the day of the big game. Today would be the day when the athlete withdraws from social interaction and spends the day resting and hydrating while visualizing himself already in the game. He anticipates his movements. He listens to inspiring and motivational music. Perhaps he meditates. Either way, this is the day for quiet preparation that is wildly introspective and it involves water...deliberately preparing our emotional bodies for a time of high adrenaline and activity.
By midday today, the Moon is in square to Jupiter in Leo (1:32 PM). If we've restored ourselves in the morning, by evening we may begin to feel renewed. However, if we linger in muck all day without releasing or purging it, we could begin to feel overwhelmed with the expansive power of Jupiter.
Then, we end our day with a trine from Moon to Chiron (10:27 PM) which calls us to rest and heal. This call toward rest is amplified by a waxing trine from the Moon to Venus that occurs early on Monday morning just prior to the Moon becoming void in Scorpio (7:02 AM).

Today, we rest, children. We hydrate. We float. We dream. We visualize. We prepare for the energy packed Fire Trine that creates a kite with Mars in Gemini who is definitely under the spotlight of this incoming Full Moon. We may kneel in prayer asking the Gods for guidance through this tunnel as we fall back into faith that all will be as it should while vowing to do our very best in playing our part when the time comes. And..the time is coming soon. We are pulled out of the water or thrust into that stadium under the Full Moon in Sagittarius. When you emerge from the waters will you be shouting hallelujahs or channeling demons? That's largely dependent on what you find under the water and what you choose to let go of or hang on to. The stage for our performance is essentially quietly set today.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Saturday, May 30, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Moon in newly in Scorpio (5:34 AM). Meanwhile, Mercury Rx is backing up to meet the Sun. This occurs at 12:56 PM while both bodies are within orb of a square to Neptune. The Sun officially meets Neptune by square tomorrow. But, the energy is tight enough to be felt today. Mars, too, is still lingering around this conjunction which occurs at 8 Gemini 58.
Mars is well on his way, though, to forming an inconjunct with Pluto. This inconjunct becomes more prominent as the Moon waxes into sextile with Pluto tomorrow creating a Yod with Mars in Gemini in the process. What we choose to put our energy into becomes important at that time as well as acting upon what it is we have learned.
This is my cat. His name is Mercury. Here, he is conjunct the it?
The inconjunct between Mars and Pluto tightens as we journey closer to our Full Moon in Sagittarius. As a matter of fact, the aspect perfects about an hour prior to Full Moon on June 2. At that time, as this occurs, another Yod is formed with Mars and Pluto. This one involves a sextile from Mars to Jupiter (June 5) with Pluto riding the apex. Again, what we choose to put our energy into gains in importance as well as acting upon what we have learned (Jupiter). Determining the best action to take in an effort to benefit our future selves and the collective is the goal. Many have grown at a tremendous rate and we are now being called to act on that wisdom and knowledge. How we do this has an effect upon how we build the foundation under our future (Pluto in Capricorn). Set your mind on that as you are trying to decide what to do for the next few days.

This Yod with Mars/Pluto/Jupiter has hang time and the Full Moon will be in opposition to Mars in Gemini while trining Jupiter in Leo and Uranus in Aries. So it not only remains in force, but it stands as beacon shedding light on what is to come under Sagittarius' full illumination during which emotions can only be described as largely radical and potentially erratic. If you feel compelled to do something, driven to complete something or feel a deep pull toward something, ask yourself “why?” What is motivating you? What's driving this bus? Does that need to be adjusted? Does that adjustment in priority or reason change what it is you think you should do? Logic is still confused but we can re-assess our reasoning. There is time to do so right now. And with the Moon in Scorpio creating a Yod of her own with Mars/Pluto, now is a great time to check out what is driving us. I would suggest paying attention to these things today instead of waiting until the Full Moon when emotions will likely be cresting, erupting, exploding...all heated up. Use today's inclination toward introspection to check under your own hood and assess your motor for potential problems.

On a literal level, as Astrology has a tendency to be, this is also a good time to check the fluid levels in your vehicle and other machinery. Summer can be tough on machinery after a long winter. Also, ward yourself against sunburn, dehydration and heat exhaustion.

Much of the world is entering summertime and temperatures are rising. Just like our vehicles need to adjust, so do our bodies. Under the Full Moon, there is a Grand Fire Trine (as I mentioned before). Folks will be inclined to be active and most likely partaking in outdoor activities..sporting events, traveling, moving and shaking. Be sure your body is well prepped and protected for that. Increasing your mobility while ensuring the health of both your mechanical machines and your bodily machine will help each to endure the increase in activity. Sometimes we have a tendency to take effectively working machinery (mechanical/bodily) for granted. Now is certainly not a good time to do that. Pay heed to the need of maintenance and prepare each for the long journey ahead.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Friday, May 29, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Moon opposite Uranus in Aries (8:18 PM). That's quite an alarm clock there. But, yes, we are likely to feel like we've been jolted. Either way, this is an opposition where on one side we are inclined to operate in pairs and or teams (Moon in Libra). We need a partner. On the other, we are inclined to act independently, go our own way and do our own thing. There is a bit of a tug of war here that needs to be balanced out. We can be independent and still be in partnership. We can be unique and still be part of a team. It does not have to be either or even if it may feel like it.

From here, the Moon creates a square with her current ruler, Venus in Cancer (4:21 PM). This pits need against want and creates a loose Cardinal t-square between the Moon, Uranus and Venus. The outlet for this pressure lies in Capricorn. We are called to take charge of the situation and make decisions that are best for all a boss...because you are the boss of your own life, right? For example, we may miss the way Momma used to make apple pie but we are stuck with the way our partner makes it. There is compromise to be to be had here and that compromise is likely to occur in with ourselves, in an effort to accommodate relationship or to smooth things over at home. We do this by acting maturely and responsibly. In the pie situation, for example, if you don't like how your partner makes apple pie (Moon in Libra) because it's not how Momma used to make it (Venus in Cancer) then you can always make the pie your damn self (Capricorn). You know? Either way there is conflict here that needs to be assuaged on a personal level. You can say, “I'm fine” all you want but that doesn't make it true.

Personally, I feel that I'm a tough person to strike a deal with so I'm not great at self-compromise. I have a tendency to be an all or nothing type often forgetting about the possibility of a middle ground. Don't repeat my mistakes. Often there is a middle ground if we are willing to be flexible enough to find it. Otherwise, though, this aspect (Moon square Venus) can be uncomfortable. There could be bouts of indecision, procrastination in regard to making a choice and/or denial of what it is we truly need in favor of temporary pleasures or in an effort to accommodate someone else. There may be something we really need but we don't have the funds to purchase it, for example. In that we are called to make executive decisions in regard to matters of finance (Capricorn). There is a myriad of ways this can potentially play out. Momma (Venus in Cancer) may not like our new girlfriend (Moon in Libra). Daddy (Capricorn) tells her to get over it; because, you are a big boy now living your own life and making your own decisions. But, inner compromise and negotiation is the key to wrangling all this effectively. Realize you cannot please everyone all the time and sometimes we are in that group of “everyone” who is not pleased. Such is life. This discomfort, too, shall pass. Patiently iron out the wrinkles, if you can.

From here, the Moon is Void until plunging into Scorpio at 5:34 AM tomorrow. A 12 hour VOC Moon gives us room to rest our higher emotions and deal with whatever is at hand. Meanwhile, Mercury Rx is on his way to a conjunction with the Sun (May 30) just prior to the Sun squaring off with Neptune (May 31). As the Moon enters Scorpio tomorrow, the waters will begin to rise again. And, they begin to rise from the inside. I'm thinking of a car overheating here. Sun, Mercury Rx and Mars all conjunct in Gemini and squaring Neptune looks a lot like that. Don't ask me how I know. Literal Astrology is literal. But, at any rate, the Moon plunges into our deepest emotional recesses and finds that they are hot and threatening to boil over. If not tended to appropriately, there could be quite an expulsion/eruption on hand here. Use this VOC Moon to bring some of those emotions to a low simmer. Take a break from swamping situations and get yourself on center. Purge excess water as the Moon enters Scorpio if you need to but don't try to hold boiling emotions in. Hit your release valve safely. Get them out in a safe way instead of allowing them to explode and boil over hurting yourself and, potentially, others.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Thursday, May 28, 2015

This morning we wake up to a nice trine between the Sun in Gemini and Moon in Libra. This is breezy and light. Social and amicable. This energy continues throughout the day and is accentuated by subsequent trines from the Moon to Mercury (2:01 PM) and Mars (5:25 PM) also in Gemini. As this occurs, the Moon is also inconjunct to Neptune while both Mars and Mercury are within orb of squaring the Ocean King. So, even with the breeze, there may be a bit of rain. We may be social, but weary; chatty but teary all at the same time.

The mood deepens as we traverse this day. The Moon squares Pluto in Capricorn at midnight. Shortly after, though, the Moon finds Jupiter by bouyant sextile (2:24 AM). You know, today sounds a bit bipolar. We might want to reach for whatever brings us mood stabilization. The mirror certainly has two faces today. Even if most of the day is colored with amicability, there is more going on beneath our masks. Outwardly, folks may seem chatty and light. Under the surface, deeper waters are bubbling. Many will try to make nice through that. However, by late evening the depths of our emotions will be undeniable. Following the Moon's overnight sextile with Jupiter, Mercury Rx officially connects to Neptune via square. Dreams may bring emotional release. Some may talk in their sleep. Others may wake up tearful and confused. Either way, there are messages to be had in dreamland and subconscious work that occurs there tonight.

Mercury waxing into square with Neptune under an airy sky can also produce the likes of snake oil salesman, smooth talking charmers and those who would throw glitter on the truth just to keep the masses at bay. Liars. Or, they may not be lying but what we hear is easily misconstrued or misunderstood. Details are missed. We are distracted or emotional. Some will be roiling inside. Others will be hitting their knees in prayer. Some will just be sleepy and all chatted out. But, either way, as above so below, as within so without, the night skies may be roiling with storms as well.
There is a thin veil cast upon this day. Most folks will be trying to keep up appearances, be amicable and take a break from heavier emotions. But, under those smiles, one never knows what truly is happening inside of a person. Be gentle with one another and don't push an issue that someone may not be ready to address or talk about just yet. Clarify information you receive and try to be clear and direct in your own speech while paying particular attention to the language that goes on without words. Listen to what folks tell you with their eyes, body movements and the tone of their voice. Pay heed to what your intuitive body is telling you and be watchful for distracted drivers while aiming to not be one.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Wednesday, May 27, 2015

This morning we wake up to a Void Moon in Virgo. Very early this morning (6:37 AM) Mercury Rx bumped into Mars by conjunction in Gemini while both bodies square Neptune. This occurs at 10 degrees mutable bringing a swift rewind to any body in your chart that may be affected. It is quite a dispassionate review though, at least early in the day as the Moon is Void.
Later this evening, though, just prior to the Moon reactivating, Venus in Cancer finds Chiron in Pisces via trine at 3:45 PM. This is opportunity to spread balm upon old or new wounds and to bring ease to some of our sore spots. Then, at 5:43 PM, the Moon enters Libra bringing more importance to the position of her ruler, Venus.

By 8:17 PM the Moon is in a stabilizing and centering sextile with Saturn Rx. We are tasked with assessing which relationships bring us strength and solid support as we assess and nurture the wounds of Venus's past through her trine with Chiron. We may cry on strong trusted shoulders or simply rest our heads on them.

The atmosphere may be chatty today. But, most of what is said will fall on deaf ears or feel as if it is spoken underwater. Most folks will be wrapped up in their own pontifications even if tongues are wagging externally. Venus to Chiron may have us licking our wounds and then the Moon's movements prompts us to assess where strength in our current relationships is found or lacking.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Tuesday, May 26, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Moon in Virgo. Overnight, Mars squared off with Neptune. He will hang within orb of this aspect for a few days. So, even though the climax occurred overnight, there is still veiled intent and confused motivation hanging like a curtain over this day. Also, early, early this morning, the Virgo Moon squared off with her backward ruler, Mercury (3:43 AM). Some will wake up wondering if they were just dreaming or if what they remember happening overnight was real. There is a chance for a bit of confusion here. The veil between the worlds of awakening, sleeping and dreaming is very thin as is the veil between the past and the present. Everything is melding and blending in a rather disorienting way. Our emotional body is busy trying to sort things out. But, it's tough.
At 11:36 AM we do find some wherewithal through a trine from the Moon in Virgo to a deeply Earthed Pluto in Capricorn. This can feel stable and rich giving us a bit of opportunity to ground and find our center again. However, whatever is “felt” is felt at our core and emotions flow from the deepest recesses of our soul. It's not horrible. It's just deep and there is a type of “knowing” in the midst of uncertainty that enters our sphere.

By late evening (10:22 PM), though, we are ready to relax a bit with a nice sextile between the Moon in Virgo and Venus in Cancer. It's time to retreat to the home front and indulge in some gentle creature comforts. Late tonight, the Moon opposes Chiron in Pisces before reaching Void status (11:50 PM). She will remain Void for the majority of tomorrow until entering Libra at 5:43 PM. Meanwhile, minds are reeling as Mercury Rx moves in for a conjunction to Mars in Gemini early in the morning (6:37 AM) while both are in square to Neptune. This can produce storms both internally and externally. And, it can all feel greatly confusing.

The meat of this day is solid. But, it still may be difficult to wrap our brains around how time seems to just bend unexpectedly. Plus, minds will be busy as Mercury Rx builds in conjunction to our power supply. There will be plenty of opportunity to rewire and rewind our perspective. We may learn that time and space does give old wounds a chance to repair a bit and allow us to look back into our past and see happenings from new eyes allowing us to heal even more. However, there are some wounds that may be excavated that still seem as raw as when they were first incurred. Be gentle and nurture yourself through that process while remembering you have survived it; you have endured it; you are truly past it now and it cannot hurt you anymore.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for May 25, 2105

This morning we wake up to the Moon in Virgo bridging a Mutable Grand Cross between the Sun, Mercury Rx and Mars in Gemini along with Neptune in Pisces and Saturn Rx in Sagittarius. Saturn and Neptune are 8 degrees apart in orb and this aspect is waning as Saturn continues moving toward Scorpio. But, today's Moon links all this up in a shifty and unpredictable fashion. The pixies, imps and fairies of early summer are up to some new tricks. Look carefully for them.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've felt as if I've fallen in a veritable time warp over the last few days. I ran into old acquaintances (both for better or for worse) and even visited some old haunts. Memorial Day, indeed. There have been plenty of memories to re-visit. I've also listened to a lot of stories of the past as told by my 100 year old grandmother. We went to visit her over the weekend and she joyfully told my husband about how my cousin and I always reminded her of squirrels when we would come to visit. She said, “You could always find them scurried up a tree somewhere.” She was right. My cousin and I were tree climbing fools in our youth. But, that memory had largely left me until it was restored over the weekend. She also pointed out that myself and my two female cousins had all spent time working in hospital emergency rooms. She was right, again. I worked in an ER for about 10 years and am now a self-dubbed “Shock Therapist” often dealing with folks in emergent emotional circumstances. One cousin is a flight RN on a trauma helicopter. The other is an RN in a hospital ER. That was an interesting observation since we all share Mars/Uranus contacts which is a signature you can also find in my grandmother's chart. We are definitely all first responders in our own right (and adrenaline junkies). So, anyway, reminiscing has definitely been fun. But, at times, it was also a bit confusing and disorienting because the revisiting was so vivid.

As the Moon is the pivot point connecting all these planets that are currently in mutable, it is our emotions that will lead the way in the shiftiness of this ongoing mutable t-square. The first shift comes this morning as the Moon officially squares off with Saturn at 7:48 AM. This aspect is a bit heavy, but also holds grounding potential. We can get out of bed, firmly plant our feet on the ground and determine what it is we would like to do with this day. It can also feel pretty heavy so some may have some dreaded tasks ahead of them on this Monday.
At around 1 PM today, the heaviness from Saturn breaks up as Venus perfects in square to Uranus just as the Sun and Moon square off creating our First Quarter Moon. Venus is still within orb of an opposition to Pluto, but that is waning now. She is also waxing into trine with Chiron. That doesn't perfect for a few days. Today, though she is being catalyzed by the Lightning God. This can produce discomfort but can also be used to foster new friendships and social connections. On another level, if Venus feels trapped or if matters of Venus feel as if they are controlling us, we could be prompted to break free from them. In that, I mean overwhelming debt or oppressive relationships become very uncomfortable today. We are ready to wriggle loose of any chains or conditions that may be placed upon our hearts and the love we receive.

The First Quarter Moon pits a Gemini Sun against a Virgo Moon. The ruler of both Gemini and Virgo is running backward in the sky and within orb of this square between the two. It's time to rearrange the facts and rethink what it is we believe we know. Many minds will flip-flop under this shifty sky. That could assist with the revolution brought to our value system. We could begin to shift our own values as a result of this shift in perspective. Either way, this First Quarter heralds a week of planetary PMS (or a building moon) during which time emotions will grow to a full bloom which is released at our Full Moon in Sagittarius next week.
To muddle things a little more, as all this mutable energy is squaring in the sky, Mars is also waxing into square with Neptune. This perfects at 7:39 PM tonight. Ambition is confused or washed away. Drive is elusive. Motivation evaporates. In our environment, this aspect can catalyze a lot of yucky stuff, gas fires, explosions, boating accidents, incidents of drunk driving...even accidents that involve fireworks could be a result of this with Venus also in orb of Uranus. So, if you are fiddling with any of this kind of potentially explosive stuff (gas grills, fireworks, driving) make sure you are sober and on top of your game. Make sure you have the fire extinguisher on hand and that you are dotting your i's and crossing your t's in regard to safety.

The Moon officially passes through this Mars/Neptune square at around midnight tonight. This mutable t-square has an outlet in Sagittarius. So, keep your future in mind and aim toward directing your actions with means toward a conscious end. Give this aspect an “easy out” and wash your vehicle..that's a good exertion of Mars in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces that also pleases our Virgo Moon. Or, dance furiously or turn on some Barry White to backdrop lovemaking. All of these are great expressions of this energy without running the risk of getting swamped by angry waves.

I'm almost certain that there will be plenty of folks who encounter “WTF” moments today. The sky is SHIFTY! There is duality to contend with along with the feeling of being in a time warp. It's best to just hold yourself on center and not make your mind up about what you are seeing just yet. Let things play out as you sit back and watch the show unfold. There's plenty to learn here. But, we just aren't sure what the point is or what it is we should do about it just yet. That's alright. We may be emotionally prone to try to “fix” things but, right now, the best fix is to let the pot simmer a bit.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Sunday, May 24, 2015

In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the Lion sleeps tonight. This morning we wake up to a Void Moon in Leo after she leaves a trine with Uranus at 6:50 AM. She remains Void until entering Virgo at 4:52 AM tomorrow morning. That's nearly a 24 hour Void Moon that packs a bit of a break from emotionality. Not to worry, though. The lights are turned back on the Moon ALL DAY tomorrow under some pretty harsh aspects the first one being a square from Moon to Saturn at 7:48 AM in the morning. The hits just keep rolling from there, too.

That being said, relax into this day. It's not earmarked for ambition (Mars is waxing into square with Neptune and the Moon, from Virgo, and Mercury Rx will be adding to that mix creating one wishy-washy mutable t-square all perfecting tomorrow). Today is light enough to enjoy good company and to grab onto a bit of rest and relaxation. Catch your breath and rest up while incorporating a bit of enjoyment in this day, if you can. Get your feet firmly underneath you and get prepared to face the harsher energies we have ahead of us on Monday.

Looking ahead
Monday: The Moon is in Virgo squaring Saturn, Mars/Mercury Rx and opposing Neptune. The Moon acts as a temporary bridge linking up a mutable cross that eventually fades to a mutable t-square. Meanwhile, Venus squares off with Uranus as she continually bridges a t-square in Cardinal signs. Mars officially squares Neptune. And, we are gifted with a very dynamic First Quarter Moon.

Tuesday: The Moon is still working this mutable t-square as we begin our day. But, some of the emotional haze begins to fade as we approach midday and the Moon trines Pluto and and sextiles Venus tickling the fading Cardinal Cross with a inconjunct to Uranus to boot. Moon is Void after an opposition with Chiron at midnight.

Wednesday: Mercury Rx meets Mars in Gemini by conjunction. Both are well within orb of a square to Neptune as this occurs. The Moon remains Void until entering Libra at 5:43 pm. This lunar movement occurs just after Venus finds Chiron in Pisces by trine.

Thursday: Most of this day is colored by a waxing sextile from the Libra Moon to Saturn Rx in Sagittarius. The day is solid and well boundaried.

Friday: The Moon in Libra plays nice with the Sun in Gemini. Then she moves forward making a nice trine with Mercury Rx and Mars in Gemini too. The words “windy” and “airy” immediately come to mind. She is, however, also waxing into square with Pluto and sextile with Jupiter as Mercury Rx officially squares off with Neptune overnight. There is a bit of flux that enters our spheres overnight that will trickle into our Saturday.

Saturday: Mercury Rx is square Neptune while the Moon in Libra opposes Uranus and creates a yod of her own through a sextile with Jupiter and inconjunct to Chiron in Pisces. Chiron is at the apex of this Yod as Jupiter, still, also holds inconjunct to Pluto. This creates opposing fingered Yods one with the apex pointing at Chiron (as previously mentioned) while the second points at Jupiter. We are emotionally invested in both. The Moon squares off with her ruler, Venus in Cancer, in the early evening. From here, she is Void until entering Scorpio early Sunday Morning.

Sunday: The Moon is in Scorpio as Mercury Rx meets the Sun by conjunction. There is cluster of Sun, Mercury Rx and Mars in Gemini with all bodies in orb of a square to Neptune. Sounds shifty to me. The Moon will pass by this Sun/Mercury/Mars conjunction by inconjunct. But, her first strong aspect, a trine to Neptune, doesn't wax in until midnight.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Saturday May 23, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Leo Moon making a nice active sextile with Mars in Gemini at 9:16 AM. This motivates us to get up and get out in the world or at least gives us the oomph we need to move around a bit. Hopefully the weather is nice in most areas so folks can enjoy being outside. There is plenty of activity going on this weekend in the US with the first official Summer holiday upon us. There are festivals, cookouts, parades and community events to attend. Families are gathering in light of the extended weekend and many will be relaxed and ready to sink into that type of light socialization.

By 5:35 PM, the Moon is in sextile to Mercury Rx and everyone is busy catching up on what has occurred since they last had a chance to visit. This is light, chatty and friendly if not a little playful. Our Sun is still within orb of an opposition to Saturn, so even if we are enjoying reconnecting with some folks we don't get to see daily, we are encouraged to lean upon our grown up selves and maintain a sense of responsibility and boundary while doing so. In other words, reminisce, but don't regress to toddler status. However, a little play never hurt anyone. This is a great day for outdoor games like volleyball, basketball, badminton or horseshoes (weather permitting, of course). It's also great for a bit of hiking, biking or anything conducive to being active. But, it's even better for just gathering together and collectively shaking off some heavier dust in favor of a bit of lightness and fun.

The rest of the day, the Moon waxes toward a nice conjunction with Jupiter (midnight). This will reactivate both the Yod with Pluto Rx, Jupiter and Mercury Rx as well as the 2nd Yod with Pluto Rx, Chiron and Jupiter. There's room for healing and changing your point of view (potentially upon past events). Allow yourself some wiggle room in that and let your perspective be flexible. Overall, give yourself a break and enjoy this day. Tomorrow the Moon is Void all day following a trine with Uranus at 6:50 AM. However, on Monday, more harsh weather moves in and the sky becomes a little more “tight” under our First Quarter Moon. Let's worry about that when it gets here. Overall, give yourself a break, get out there and enjoy this day.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Friday, May 22, 2015

This morning the Moon is still void in Cancer. She retains this status the majority of the day until entering Leo at 5:43 PM.

The rest of the evening brings grounding and, perhaps a bit of drag. The Sun in Gemini and Moon in Leo meet through a nice sextile at 8:48 PM. Then, the Moon trines Saturn at 8:52 PM as the Sun opposes Saturn at 9:36 PM. Saturn's energy here can be wonderfully stabilizing, restoring boundaries and the ground under our feet. However, the opposition from Sun to Saturn could be a bit heavy for some tastes. It is riddled with responsibility and duty just prior to entering a long weekend. I don't think this aspect will be overly taxing. But, it does pull us toward acting maturely.

Overall, the day is likely to be quite sedate with energy picking up toward later this evening.

The Cardinal t-square between Venus, Uranus and Pluto is still holding. The Yods of yesterday are still in force. The Moon will re-activate these briefly tomorrow and Sunday. But, today looks like a solid break within that. Finish up your work week and get ready for what looks like a rather active (social and chatty) Saturday.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Thursday, May 21, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Sun newly in Gemini (4:45 AM) and Jupiter perfecting into inconjunct with Pluto. The latter strengthens a Yod created between Mercury Rx, Jupiter and Pluto Rx. Pluto Rx rides the apex. This Yod was in force at our New Moon in Taurus. To me, it indicates that a personal review of our life philosophies and future course trajectory could lead to deep transformational changes within the foundation of our psyche. Of course there is a myriad of possibilities here. But, this is the one that stands out for me. Either way, our belief system, our personal philosophies/dreams/ambitions are due for conscious revision, review and reconsideration.

Right after midday, the Moon and Venus unite in Cancer (1:08 PM). Oh, this sounds like such a gentle and easy aspect. And, normally, it is. However, today, Venus and the Moon meet under stressful condition. At 1:51 PM the Moon opposes Pluto Rx. At 8:37 PM the Moon moves on to square Uranus (while still within orb of Venus) bridging the energy of all 4 of these bodies (Pluto, Venus, and Uranus) in a Cardinal T-square. Then, Venus officially opposes Pluto at 9:53 PM. This is the set up that can bring the wolf to our door. Turmoil could hit home. What we value and feel prone to protect and nurture could come under attack or be stripped away either literally or metaphorically. This is our chance to effectively defend what it is we officially declared as “valuable” under the New Moon in Taurus.

We may mentally revisit past relationships or even encounter lovers, partners and/or friends from our past unexpectedly under this sky. This gives us a chance to review how we engaged in relationship in the past and potentially revise our plans for engaging in relationship in the future. Issues of trust, proper use of power, debt, intimacy, obsession, control and codependency could be brought to the fore. All of that (and even more!) is brought to the surface in a potentially emotional way. Don't forget that Cancer is our soft underbelly...the part the crab tries to protect for its own safety...the babies the Momma Bear is tasked with shielding. This can also involve our resources (money/food/water) and there is a high probability that it could involve what we know as “family.” With Mars scattered in Gemini, this could be a multifaceted attack with veiled intent. Who the enemy truly is could be hard to discern. Make sure it isn't you.

Venus will hold this linking bridge within this Cardinal T-square with Pluto Rx and Uranus all the way through the weekend and into the first of next week. Then, the orb becomes wider and the energy starts to subside. In the US, this weekend is Memorial Day. A day in which we revisit and honor those who have passed before us. In all actuality, the energy from this Cardinal T-square fits that bill. Problem is, revisiting the past is revisiting the past. There could be unaddressed grief or remorse that is brought up along with all the potential heart screws associated with dealing with family, loss and remorse. There will be plenty of community gatherings and such that leave the door wide open to the potential of running into folks we've not seen for awhile and revisiting all the emotions connected with that.

Unfortunately, large gatherings of people who are distracted in emotionality or simply connecting also leaves the door wide open to thieves and/or those with other types of subservient intent. So, if you are going to a parade, make sure you lock your car up tight and make sure you didn't forget to lock your front door. If you are carrying cash, make sure you keep it secure and don't forget to keep an eye on the kiddos as you are reconnecting with Aunty Jane whom you've not seen in years. At any rate, there is a lot going on here and the energy of it lasts more than just a day.
Also, know there is an opposing Yod involving Chiron/Pluto and Jupiter. This one is passing by largely unnoticed, but, I promise you it is just as powerful as the first and it deals with how we address and react to our deepest pains and the effect that has upon our future. The Moon will pass over the apex of this Yod while in Leo on the night of May 23rd (Saturday). It's deep. It's personal. And, frankly, it hurts.
Tonight, after this storm (and this can be an emotional storm or a literal one—as within so without, as above so below) begins to roll and bloom, the Moon finds Chiron by trine (don't forget that 2nd yod!) and subsequently reaches Void status. Our soft underbelly meets with some of our deepest pains giving us opportunity to smooth healing balm over our wounds or simply wallow in remembrance of them. Venus, too, will perfect in this aspect after she pulls away from her square with Uranus on the 25th.

Today's Cardinal T-square and Yod operate in tandem joined by Pluto Rx in an effort to bring some deeply power stuff to the surface of the collective psyche for review. However, the events that surround this reassessment are highly personal and will need to be addressed on that level. This could be the budding of grassroots type of change for the better. But, it could also become a prime opportunity to repeat mistakes of our own past or even those of our ancestry. In that, there is also opportunity to birth a new type of reaction to old problems. Personal circumstance that unearths our deepest, most tender emotional bodies and our subsequent individual reaction to it helps to expose where we need to choose better in regard to how we love and care for one another. We remember. How could we even forget? But, yet, things from the past could look vastly different in our older and more wisely adept eyes than when the original event occurred. Take time to reassess that while gently nurturing yourself through it. Protect and shelter what you hold dear while realizing you have no true control over what you hold at value. You can love it but you don't get to lock it in your basement and keep it from interacting with rest of the world. You know? What we love is meant to be honored and appreciated through gratitude not manipulated and controlled out of our own fear of losing it. We can't lose it. It's not truly “ours” to begin with. Nothing, besides ourselves, is truly under our ownership or control. That being said, protect your valuables (be they material or otherwise) and the home front while realizing protecting and controlling are two totally different things. Shield your soft underbelly and allow room for reassessment of perspective. Know today could be quite emotional and be prepared to shield yourself a bit in that regard too. Boundaries up. Don't forget what is important. Then, circle the wagons and click the dead bolt...the wolf is at the door.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Wednesday, May 20, 2015

This morning we wake up to a Void Moon until about 10 AM when the Moon moves into Cancer. Many are still getting over Monday and some are still getting over the weekend. And, most are fairly moody and perhaps emotional in regard to the same. Today is a good day to nurture yourself through whatever you are feeling and, if you have the energy, assist others in doing so as well. I'm of the opinion that, right now, feminine energy is dominating our sky. That doesn't mean that women are dominating our sky or our world. It means that those that are familiar with and able to exude the positive expression of our feminine energies are coming out ahead in these days. Wrangling this stuff to its highest expression is seriously harder than it sounds. In that, I'm including the abilities to feel, nurture, intuit, be compassionate, supportive, gentle, forgiving and empathic. Penis bearing creatures have this capacity, too. Those that were able to tap into Venus/Neptune effectively and linger there while continually pushing love out of their hearts while remaining open to receive it back were able to navigate the craziness at the first of this week more effectively. Those who came rushing in like out of control steam engines got derailed. It wasn't Venus driving that train.

At the same time, there were also some negative expressions of feminine energy that also whacked up a lot of situations. Codependency, emotional manipulation, passiveness/avoidance, etc. There were hazy, smoke and mirror displays...stuff that was meant to be veiled but ended up being radically transparent and sometimes even catalyzing the actions behind that out of control train.

Did you know there were folks out there that will sit back and patiently push your buttons until they find the right one just so you will go off like a rocket in response? Why? Because, assholes DO exist! And, because once they push the right button, they assume control of YOUR steerage. But, ya know what? If you are in true control of your Mars, have strong boundaries and the ability to peel back the veil and see these efforts they become much less effective. But, the typical response to stuff like this is to start slinging your big pee pee around..or at least try to. I've gotta tell you, if you are loosing your head (Mercury) and grabbing your pee pee (Mars) you are skipping over the part of you that holds the true answers. The answers await you in the middle of your chest and right under your belly button...which is EXACTLY where we should have placed the decapitated head of the Gorgon (Algol) for protection. Otherwise, those more tender parts of us ran the risk of being manipulated, infected, hurt, attacked. Can't go back and change anything now. But, you can certainly move forward with this knowledge as it is still HIGHLY applicable.

At any rate, that's the basic recap as I witnessed it. Today all the emotions from the previous week threaten to leak out. Things get quiet and we are left with only our emotions. The ability to deal with those on a personal level is very important because those emotions reach an acute ferocity under tomorrow's sky. Today, I encourage you to withdraw and recoup in preparation for that. Dissolve. Do what you need to do to effectively ease your heavier emotions. Eat. Pray. Love. LOL...but seriously. Ask for forgiveness if you need to. Hand it out if you have some to spare. Check for damage on the home front and patch up any holes in the gate. Circle the wagons. Find your safe place. Release, purge and discharge your more murky emotional waters and allow more fresh, clean water to enter.
Tonight, the Moon waxes into trine with Neptune at 3:33 AM. Shortly after, the Sun enters Gemini at 4:45 AM. Then, Jupiter perfects tightly inconjunct to Pluto (7:03 AM). The Yod created with Mercury and these two power houses is at it's tightest. Then, just as we get comfortable in our little nests...a wolf knocks at the door. DING DING! Round Two! But, this time, Venus will be pretty fed up. She's accommodated; she's tried to negotiate; she's tried to bring peace and compromise; she's soothed and consoled warring parties. Now, she's done. Wolf beware. There's a pissed off Momma Bear on the other side of that door and she's, frankly, had enough. I'm not thinking she is going to be inclined to invite you in for tea and crumpets.

Uh huh. It's a lot like that. Get well rested, well fed, well protected and prepared for it today. This “Venus under pressure and fed up energy” has hang time. It stays with us all the way up to the First Quarter Moon on the 25th. Protect, shore up and determine what it is that is important to you. There is a good chance that's exactly what the wolf is after.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Tuesday, May 18, 2015

This morning we wake up to our Gemini Moon leaving a conjunction with her current backward ruler, Mercury (4:07 AM). From here, our Gemini Moon waxes into sextile with Jupiter and Juno who are snuggled up in playful Leo (7:25 AM). You know, that doesn't sound half bad. There may be some nervousness and a twinge of anxiety that comes in through the Moon/Mercury conjunction. But, I feel that the sextile to Jupiter/Juno is pretty uplifting this morning. Blossoming energy.

In our early afternoon, the Moon sextiles Uranus (1:58 PM) bringing more lightness of being. Early this evening, there is a chance of a bit of “raining on our parade” possible as the Moon waxes into square with Chiron in Pisces at 5:53 PM. From here, the Moon is Void until entering Cancer at 9:57 AM in the morning.

I'm a little shocked, to be frank. Today looks pretty good. My Saturn in Gemini is frowning and saying, “Humbug! I'm doubting it!” LOL. But. It does look as if we are uplifted in the morning and further exalted in the evening with just a small chance of dour entering our sphere later. The day is earmarked for trying something new, getting out and about, socializing and breaking free. Tomorrow doesn't seem too eventful either. The Moon is active after entering Cancer, but her first aspect (a trine to Neptune) doesn't occur until the morning of the 21st (3:33 AM). So, she spends the day tomorrow waxing into this oceanic vibe that prompts us more toward drifting than becoming too involved in anything overly assertive or ambitious. Our last days of Taurus season seem to have us lazing around in the fields gazing up at the sky and pontificating puffy cloud animals.!

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Monday, May 18, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Moon entering Gemini (5:28 AM). I really like PEOPLE who have Gemini Moons. However, since I've following and paying attention how the movements of the Moon make me feel, Gemini is one of my least favorite transits...followed by Sagittarius. For me, when the Moon is in either of these signs, it is muddled by my Neptune in Sagittarius and squashed by my Saturn in Gemini. I don't feel muddled by Sagittarian folks and I don't feel squashed by Gemini folks. So, I know there has to be a way to swing these transits more effectively for myself. But, I've not figured it out quite yet. For now, I'm content whining about how it makes me feel though. So, if today's Astrology sounds more dire than you actually experience it, know that it is because the author is probably getting slammed. It happens. Astrologers are human too. We play favorites in regard to energy...or at least I do.

That being said, yesterday I referred to today's Astrology as crappy. I'd like to rephrase that. Today's Astrology is shifty. SHIFTY, I said...which could indicate either a negatively experienced change in circumstance or a positive one. Either way, the way we think about things is due to be re-examined not only today but throughout this Mercury Retrograde. Opinions will shift. Perspectives, minds and outlooks will change. Information held deeply within our selves are likely to revealed and that doesn't necessarily mean that information will be published into the world, but it certainly will become apparent to the individual. I've already made a couple of discoveries about my own self in regard to seeds of thought that were planted within me when I was very young that I've just followed not realizing that they may not be true. Now, these seeds weren't deliberately planted with malintent. They were just seeds who stuck and grew. I have a chance now (and so will you) to re-assess those plantings and decide whether or not I want to incorporate them as personal truths since I now know of them consciously. If I don't want to incorporate them, I'll release them at the Full Moon in Sagittarius. However, if I want to keep them, I'll re-institute them at the New Moon in Gemini. In the meantime, I'm prepared for Mercury's retrograde to bring more of this up for review, not just for me, but for the collective. This isn't the ONLY operation of this retrograde. But, it is one that is VERY apparent to me because the retrograde occurs in my 4th house....roots, foundation...the house that built me. With that in mind, note which house this in your chart the retrograde will take place and prepare to be given opportunity to rewire your thinking about matters that deal with that house. I'll give you a some examples:
1st house: Rewire how you think about yourself, how you engage in activity and initiate, reconsider what motivates you
2nd house: Rewire how you think about and assess your own value, your possessions, money and what is important to you
3rd house: Rethink everything you've ever learned, how you make friends, the way you incorporate information and learn
4th house: see above and also rethink the principles upon which your foundation was built. Rethink your concept of family, home and your idea of the archetype of mother
5th house: Reconsider your idea of fun and play and how you give yourself permission to do so or not, challenge what you believe in regard to areas where you feel like you do not shine
6th house: it's time to reassess how you think about your daily routines, your health and your day to day work and areas in which you may think you are helping. Re-assess how you set your priorities.
7th house: rethink your concepts of “fairness”, “justice” and “balance”. Reconsider your thoughts on relationships and partnering
8th house: Check over your thoughts and beliefs surrounding death, dying, sex and grief. Challenge your idea of what fair energy exchange is along with the proper usage of power. Rethink what it is you think you owe to others and what it is you think they owe you
9th house: reconsider how you feel about the news, politics, religion and sports. Challenge yourself in regard to what you publish to the world and what it is you incorporate as truth and personal belief
10th house: rethink your public image and career aims. Take careful consideration to look over and edit (if found necessary) any plans you have made and challenge yourself in regard to how you think about leadership and reconsider how it is you, personally, lead. Reconsider your archetypes of Father and authority.
11th house: reassess how you think about advances in technology (and your possible reliance on it), reconsider the results of your experimentation and how challenge your idea of “community”
12th house: don't think at all...paint something or let music speak for you. I'm kidding. Reassess how you interpret your dreams, fears and challenge the way you think about concepts such as imprisonment, emptiness, illness, addiction and unconditional love.

Of course there is more to consider during this retrograde than what the house position in your chart has to say. But, that is enough to give you a start. Just know that if Mercury continually aspects a planet or point in your chart, then that planet/point will play a role in the rewiring in one way or another. Also know that whatever point is being affected, it has also been hazed by Neptune (or very soon due to be) and that Saturn will eventually turn direct and assist you in solidifying the rewiring work you are doing now. In that, yeah...things will be confusing at times but it will be brought to form eventually and re-solidified anew.

Did I mention that Mercury officially turns retrograde today? Were you able to infer that? LOL!
As the Moon enters Gemini she also perfects in opposition to Saturn in Sagittarius (8:51 AM). Saturn is barely hanging on in Sagittarius getting ready to jump back over into Scorpio for a bit of review himself. We've still got awhile yet before he officially enters Scorpio again. That doesn't occur until June 14 after Mercury is direct again (June 11) and AFTER Neptune turns retrograde (June 12). Mark that week on your calender. There's a HUGE drying up that occurs at that time. Veils are dropped. Illusions are shattered. Questions are answered as Mercury retraces the steps in his shadow.

After we experience the potential heaviness and drag of Moon/Saturn this morning, the Moon moves on to temporarily link up a mutable t-square between Mars, Neptune and Saturn. The Moon, here, acts as a bridge bringing the combination of the energy from these three planets together. Shifty. We may feel scattered, tired or angry for no true discernible reason. Overall, the energy feels frustrating to me. However, the answer lies in practical triage as the missing leg of this mutable mess falls in Virgo. Only problem with that is Mercury is also the ruler of Virgo and he is quivering in his station right now. Triage may call for a re-assessment of priority. The whole set up makes me want to grit my feels grinding, pressured, confusing and overly frustrating to me. And, if you are relying on the masculine energy within you to guide you through this, it will likely feel the same to you. Mars is seriously messed up right now. So is Mercury and the Sun is due to pass through this mess soon too. However, look at the sky and see where our more feminine energies are...Neptune is at home, Venus is very well placed and still within orb of her higher octave. I'm about to tell you to let go of the reigns here and address this energy passively without trying to control or manipulate. Aim for acceptance and rolling with the punches instead. Don't try to think your way through whatever occurs...feel your way through. It is your heart and your stomach that will effectively guide you in this day. Observe more than you act. Float rather than lashing at the current. Let go of your desire to control instead of trying to hang on to it. Listen more than you speak. It's going to be taxing. But, it will be less taxing if you just accept the fact that in life you don't get to call all the shots. Especially not today. It helps, also, to realize that those who are trying to control and call the shots are going to be much more uncomfortable than you today. Save yourself some frustration in that regard. Get comfortable in duality and, when in doubt, look to our current North Node and heed it's call to balance things out.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Sunday, May 17, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Moon still active in Taurus. Tonight, we will encounter our New Moon in the sign just after midnight. In other Astrological news, though, our sky is pretty active right now. Venus is busy hanging around Neptune. Mercury is about to turn retrograde. Mars is pulling himself away from his opposition with Saturn. Soon, the Sun will leave the fields of Taurus and enter the chatty atmosphere of Gemini. Stuff is shifting all around..which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But, it is change none-the-less. Start limbering up to answer the incoming mutable call.

I've got to tell you, though, the majority of Gemini solar returns I've looked at seem fairly harsh. Last year, I saw a lot of flux in our Aries Solar Returns. Remember? Mars was retrograde and in his detriment ALL through Aries Season last year. We endured it collectively. But, Aries Suns were stuck with that mess ALL YEAR. This year, Aries Solar Returns were pretty sweet. It's Gemini's turn now. Mercury, the ruler of Gemini, is all wonked up for the majority of the season if he is in his home sign. He's retrograde and lingering around Saturn and Neptune and...well...yuck. Plus, right now, right this minute as I'm typing this and as our New Moon waxes in, Mercury is sitting at the base of Yod in sextile to Jupiter. Jupiter and Mercury both are inconjunct to Pluto Rx. And, this Yod has some serious hangtime. As a matter of fact, on THE DAY that the Sun enters Gemini (May 21) Mercury will have flipped Rx and the inconjunct between Jupiter and Pluto will be perfecting. Not only that, but on the same day, Venus perfects in opposition to Pluto and square to Uranus while the Moon is also conjunct her in Cancer. That, my friends, is the FIRST DAY of Gemini season...don't kill the messenger. Er, perhaps I should say, it's not the author of this blog's fault. There will likely be times when we would like to kill the actual “messenger” that is Mercury, I'm just saying. My Saturn in Gemini grimaces at the thought. The rest of my mutable planets aren't too thrilled about it either.

Today, it's important to look ahead and see what is coming down the pike. Many will be setting New Moon intentions in the midst of impending flux. We've trudged and trudged through Taurus season, now it's time to declare what type of ground it is we truly stand on. To do that, we are going to have to operate with this Pluto Yod which is so apparent in the Taurus New Moon chart. The fact that the New Moon is also conjunct the severed head of Medusa (Algol) sometimes referred to as a star of bad omens, you'd think I'd be telling you to make sure you have your head on straight. But, no. That's mainly due the fact that our heads and logic systems are basically a hopeless case right now. I'm more inclined to advise you to make sure your heart is in the right place. I feel that telling you to leave your logical brain out of the equation today is better advice. Venus is the body that rules this New Moon so her position is of importance too. She is still in tight trine to Neptune and swimming in the warm waters of Cancer bringing appreciation to the principles of home, family and nurturing. Instead of gathering your thoughts, gather your loved ones over a good meal. Look for what is solid true and supportive in your life. Reach for what is tangible rather than trying to logic your way through this New Moon. Unplug. Step into the real world. Follow the callings of your heart to discover what it is that you truly yearn for and give it a big hug.

Early this morning, the Moon finds Jupiter in Leo by square at 3:45 AM. Then, our Taurus Moon dances upon enriched soil with Pluto shortly after (4:39 AM). At midday, there is a Moon/Chiron sextile that reminds us of our humanness while also remaining supportive. Then, tonight, in the darkest of the dark, under a blanket of stars the New Moon wafts in on a nice warm breeze. Today is subdued, relaxed, indulgent and solid. Again, there isn't much room for ambition..this is a weekend for truly unwinding and recuperating. Monday is...well...crappy looking to be quite honest. So, let's not worry about that for today. Today, lets keep our feet propped up and simply watch the grass grow. Let's gather round our friends and share comfort food and love. Let the cares of the world melt away and opt for laying back in whatever makes you feel comfortable. Give yourself permission to lay the tools down and enjoy the fruits of your labors. Melt into it. You deserve it. Let there be no regrets.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Saturday, May 16, 2-015

This morning we wake up to a very fresh Moon in Taurus. The day is all about Venus and her higher octave, Neptune. Not only is Venus the current ruler of both our Sun and Moon in Taurus, but, at 2:49 PM, Venus in Cancer finds Neptune in Pisces via trine. Then, the Moon waxes into this trine creating a sextile to both. This makes a mini-trine that could prove to be very relaxing, indulgent and perhaps even a little melodic. The mini-trine between the Moon, Venus (7:27 PM) and Neptune (7:06 PM) envelops our evening hours. I don't see much in the way of ambition today. It's more of a day in which we just enjoy eachother's company and sit back, prop our feet up and unwind a bit. If you live near a lake, ocean or large body of water today would be a good day to float in it or simply hang out on the shore enjoying the fresh breeze. If it's raining in your neck of the woods, it's a wonderful day to curl up on the couch and listen quietly to the gentle patter of the raindrops. Midday nap opportunities abound. But, in that, irritation and frustration tolerance will be looooooooow. Anything that is typically a minor irritant feels like it is a clawing minion burying under your skin...the bulls may get more angry than typical in response to being prodded. Leave them alone and stamp your foot in demanding of your own peace and comfort if need be.

This is a great day for lovers. But, it could be not so great if you are love sick and lonely. Venus/Neptune can magically sweep you away or create a huge hollow space in your chest depending on the circumstances you find yourself in. If it's the latter, and you find yourself forlorn, lonely and lovesick, be gentle with yourself. That is how most of this day should be handled anyway---with gentleness, compassion, ease. Lay down your plow. Come in from the fields and take a leisurely dip in the pond or pour a nice ice cold glass of sweet tea and sip away. All cows are granted a day off...ENJOY!

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Friday, May 15, 2015

Helloooooooooo Friday! This morning we wake up to a Void Moon in Aries. She is Void ALL day after her conjunction with Uranus at 8:05 AM. Mars is still hanging tight in opposition to Saturn. So, there may still be some drag and heaviness overlaying this day. But, our give a damn breaks early...
It's time to wrap this week up and get ready for the weekend. Today is not the day to run off and start something new. Today is earmarked for finishing things up and tying up loose ends in preparation for both the weekend and our New Mooooon in Taurus late Sunday night. While we are dispassionately toiling in an effort to wind things down, it's also time to assess what we've learned thus far in Taurus season...because, believe it or not, it's almost over!

Some things you could ask yourself in preparation for the New Moon are 1) what is truly important to me 2) do I need to switch up my priorities 3) Am I too stubborn or do I give in too easily 4) what brings me comfort, satisfaction and ease 5) what is worth the sweat of my brow 6) am I getting back as much as I put in? All of these questions can help you discern how to word your intentions for our New Moon. If nothing else, they help to show us exactly where we stand, what is real, what is solid and where we are at risk of becoming stuck. The self-assessment has worth and, besides, what else are you going to do under a Void Moon all day?

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for Thursday, May 14, 2015

This morning we wake up to the Moon in Aries creating a sextile with Mars in Gemini (3:51 AM) and a trine with Saturn Rx in Sagittarius (5:02 AM). That looks a lot like resolve and determination to me. But, it can also feel like running into a brick wall as soon as you step out of bed. Ok, that may be me being grumpy. I'm not a fan of the Moon in Aries or Mars opposite Saturn. So, mixing them all together is like a huge gift of astrological crap as far as I'm concerned. But, in my best effort..aside from my grumpiness, I'm inclined to tell you that this aspect is usable. It brings out your grit, your tenacity, your self-directed drive AND it solidifies the formerly muddy ground into something upon which we can make traction. Those tracks left behind you are made from pure trudging tenacity though. You've got to WANT it. Otherwise, it's just going to feel like heavy trudging. Well, it's likely to be heavy trudging either way. But, if the ends justify the means then you just don't mind as much.

Speaking of “wanting it” the Moon in Aries also squares off with Venus in Cancer at 1:34 PM. See? We WANT to be cocooned but here we are...trudging. It would be a good day to pack your lunch and bring along a little flavor (and reminder) of home for our late week workday.
By later tonight, we do have a chance to unwind a bit as the Moon meets Mercury in Gemini by sextile at 10:01 PM while also waxing into trine with Jupiter (1:47 AM). However, the waxing energy of Mars opposite Saturn is ever increasing until it perfects at 2:04 AM just as the Moon also finds Pluto by square (2:45 AM). What is it we are trying to accomplish anyway? Better yet, why? What's driving this bus anyway? Not that it matters, we are pretty steeped in obsession over it right now. This type of set up coming in at the hour it does, reminds me of those dreams where you immobilized or unable to scream or escape. It feels dark, dank, shadowy and HEAVY. It's also not too far from being an illustration of BDSM. As a matter of fact, this set up sounds quite a bit like that. Here is the thing, do you feel like a willing participant in any of this? The answer to that question is what you need to be pondering. Is this something you want to do? No? Then, get the Hell out! If it IS something you are want to do then head down and trudge on...or mask on and chains up, heck I don't know. Just know you have a choice in the matter and if it doesn't feel right you have 100% right to back off and dismiss yourself from it. Our sense of responsibility is sky high right now. But, know that it is not 100% your responsibility to do all the things all by yourself even if you feel like it is.

In the morning, the Moon runs into Uranus first thing off the bat. Perhaps, just perhaps, we are being prodded to put some of that weight down...particularly the load that doesn't belong to us or the part that we shouldn't be carrying alone. These are the days of a waning moon. Meaning, we should be releasing stuff anyway. So, if the load you are carrying is too big and not entirely your responsibility, then, think about laying it down before you risk being crushed under it's weight. Streamline. Delegate. And be mindful of taking on more than you can realistically handle while tackling one diligent task at a time. Continue chipping away at the stone until it is whittled down to a very sharp edge.

Steps forward today will be solid but well-earned. Tomorrow, we may just be ready to cast off a bunch of shackles under a broken “give a damn” and a very looooooooong VOC Moon (from 8:05 AM on the 15th until 3:05 AM on the 16th).
One thing to remember, if you continually feel like you are taking a run straight into a brick wall, then this may be the Universe's way of trying to tell you something. Stop for a minute and reassess. Maybe it's not such a good idea. What are you trying to do? Why? Is tackling it head on the best tact? Because, that bruised brick imprint on your forehead is telling me, maybe not. Maybe it's time to fall back and punt or consider a different course trajectory. At the very least, do a gut check in regard to what is driving you because the answer to that introspective question could hold the keys to the freedom that you crave more so than the mountain you are trying to move.
