This morning we wake up to a busy Moon
in Aries waxing into sextile with her current ruler, Mars in
Aquarius. This aspect perfects at 10:55 AM. I see big pontifications
about plans forward being made here. We feel the need to initiate and
move through our Moon in Aries. Mars in Aquarius gets behind that
need and supports moving forward smartly. Here's the thing, though.
Aquarius is an Air sign. Sometimes when Mars is in an Air sign, there
is a lot of thinking about what needs to be done or talking about
what needs to be done but very little actual action. Sometimes, even,
Mars in Air folks will mistake talking about doing something for
actually doing it. Plus, Aquarius can over think and make things too
complicated. Actions can be stalled by this trait. Either way, this
aspect can really make us feel motivated. Just don't forget to
actually act on that motivation and don't get caught up in the
details.
Getting caught up in the details is a
possibility with the Moon also meeting Mercury in Capricorn by
square. This is the aspect that will bring practicality to our
pontifications under Moon/Mars. We could hear discouragement from the
outside world at this time too. This discouragement could come from
unwanted critiques of our plans or someone simply saying, “There is
no way that is going to work.” This could also be an internally
fostered critique in which we doubt the potential in our planned
actions. It makes me think of Schrodinger's Cat...perhaps because I
have watched too much of the “Big Bang Theory.” But, still, the
analogy fits. You don't know whether the cat is alive or dead until
you open the box. You don't know if your plans will work or not until
you give it a try!
Mercury in Capricorn in square to Moon
in Aries can also bring a good dose of practicality to ambition. (It
can also give you a headache, btw. So, if you are prone to those,
take whatever preventative measures you need.) It's up to us to
decide what is true practicality and what is doubt fostered by fear.
We walk a bit of a tight rope in that regard. In order to stay on the
rope, we must right ourselves through balancing against fear/doubt
and over criticism while staying on the thin line of practicality and
good sense.

It's a good idea to stay on that tight
rope too. Confidence is restored to our ambitious Moon through a
trine to Jupiter in Leo at 3:39 PM. This can give us the inspiration
to move forward or steer us into overconfidence and a self-righteous
stance toward nay-sayers. Temper that. Be humble and wise instead of
greedy and overly sure of yourself. Listen to what others have to say
and take those words into consideration but move forward based on
what you know you can do and what you feel is right. Remember there
are always at least a few stumbles on the paths we choose. Trust
yourself to be able to navigate through those stumbles without
allowing this energy to push you into over confidence. Moon to
Jupiter can foster that sense of self-trust as well.
By 7:47 PM, the Moon is squaring off
with Venus in Capricorn. Has it been a long day or what? Yes, it has.
And, this aspect can either bring a desire to burn the midnight oil
or finally give things up for the day. Venus in Capricorn is all
business but mixtures of the Moon and Venus (in any sign) can bring a
desire to rest and/or indulge. With Venus in Capricorn, those
indulgences could be geared toward resting upon the fruits of our
labors or a desire to keep working for more fruits. My recommendation
here is to lay work to rest for the day under this aspect. The Moon
is Void after its perfection in square to Venus until entering Taurus
at 5:57 AM tomorrow.
As the Moon enters Taurus, ambition is
replaced with diligent forward plodding. Lunar Mars energy gives way
to Lunar Venus energy and there is a significant change of heart
brought forth from that type of shift. Plus, we move from a Fire Moon
to an Earth Moon bringing grounding and practicality to the equation.
We may even realize...”Hey, most of the world is on vacation right
now! Maybe we should take a break too and settle in for the New Year!
Maybe we should bake a cake! Or maybe someone should!”
This is an ambitious day. But, by the
end of it, we could really be in need of a break. Moon moving into
Taurus will give us the opportunity for that. Until then, don't be
afraid to take action even if your plans seem a bit quirky. They may
be so crazy that they actually work. You'll never know, though, if
you don't try. In some instances, may be beneficial to just shut your
mouth about your plans and act on them. Then, when someone says,
“That's not going to work” you can politely tell them, “Don't
believe me? Just watch.”
