Morning Star: Daily Astrology for October 1, 2014

Last night the Moon arrived in industrious Capricorn (Midnight). Today, she stays fairly busy with her first aspect, sextile to Mercury in Scorpio, occurring in the wee hours (3:39 AM EDT). Her second aspect, a square to Venus in Libra), occurred only minutes after at 3:53 AM). Now, she inches her way toward a sextile with Neptune in Pisces (10:01 AM).

Overlaying all this early morning activity is the tension of our First Quarter Moon which waxes in this evening at 3:34 PM. The First Quarter occurs at 8 degrees 33 minutes of Capricorn (Moon) and Libra (Sun).

Sabian for Capricorn 9: An angel carrying a harp

Bovee says, “The Angel carrying a harp manifests most clearly when there is an issue of tension. Increase the tension and things can go really off tune quickly. Plus, an individual with an important placement here in Capricorn 9 may carry and project unnecessary tension for a long while. The secret lies in loosening the strings... not getting hooked on something that throws you out of tune.

It would be no surprise to find people who professionally tune stringed instruments here. The challenge is to bring energies and emotions into the right tension. Anything too extreme results in hard, harsh, and far too sharp manner.”

Sabian for Libra 9: Three old masters hanging in an art gallery

Bovee says, “Tension and beauty, high-strung and pleasant: these dynamics search for a target, a goal. The desire to get things done is high. With a patient overview, one can hold the tension until ready, let loose one's arrow when the time is right.

For yourself, if inner tensions build to frustration, consider making an adjustment within. The time for executing and hitting the mark will come… let that overview bring relaxation.”

First, anybody else think it's ironic that the sabian we look to is 9 and there are so many 3's in the time and degrees? Of course, I know the hour 3 only applies to EDT, but the minutes are Universal. So there are still lots of 3's! Next, both sabians speak of tension. I've no doubt there is tension to move around with the Fire Trine still lingering about. Amidst all the tension of both sabians, the suggestion is to loosen up and aim true while waiting for the proper time to release.

If you would like to know more about how to work with all the Moon phases as they fall in your natal chart, join me in The Plan readings. Each week you receive a write up of the current Moon phase with information about how that Moon phase impacts your chart. You learn to set intentions according to the Moon. Plus, each month, my Plan subscribers receive a Lunar Return reading, stone/herbal suggestions, private write ups for the New and Full Moon phases which are not published on this site and one bonus reading. Sometimes these bonus readings are new spreads I'm testing sometimes they are individual planetary return (Solar, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn) readings (that normally go for $50-75). Currently, I'm working on a new private forum for folks who subscribe to the Plan. Once the forum is complete, the price on the readings will increase. However, if you get in now, your price will always be $30 a month and you will receive admittance to the group when it is launched even if your subscription has since expired. Visit the readings tab for more details and ordering information.

From her tense square off with the Sun in Libra, the Moon bumps right into Pluto (newly direct) in Capricorn. Doesn't look like the tension is waning anytime soon. The Moon is also scheduled to square off with Uranus in Aries overnight (2:12 AM). Things could become pretty intense as the day moves forward.

Keeping busy satisfies the Moon in Capricorn and tomorrow, she spends most of the day in a supportive sextile with her current ruler Saturn in Scorpio before reaching Void status which holds from Noon tomorrow until the Moon enters Aquarius at 4:01 AM on Oct 3.

Use the tension as motivation to keep chipping away at the stone. Diligence, persistence and hard work truly pay off here both physically and emotionally. Just don't forget to give a little whistle!

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for September 30, 2014

Know what is happening in the sky today? Nothing. That's what. Nada that I can see. The Moon in Sagittarius made her last aspect (trine to current ruler, Jupiter) at about 11:30 PM last night. She was busy all day yesterday. Today she is taking the day off.
Picture of the Moon taken 9/28/14 while she was hanging out in Sagittarius

If you started something yesterday and didn't have a chance to finish it, then today is a good day to wrap it up.

With a Void Moon all day, it isn't really advisable that you begin anything new. But, you can certainly experiment. I've made it a hobby to play with them.

We've not had a long Void Moon for a few days. But, I started a project under an active moon just to have something to continually work on during days like this. It seems to be going rather well.

Since there is nothing really noteworthy in the sky and I spent 15 minutes reviewing the news last night and have no intention to speak of current events, I'll tell you a little about it.

This is a cabinet that I inherited from my grandmother when she died in 2007. My grandmother collected salt and pepper shakers. My entire life, I grew up admiring them. Of course, I wasn't allowed to touch them. But, I could look at them and ask questions.

The shakers came from all over the world. Whenever my grandparents would travel, they would buy a set of shakers from every town they stopped in or visited. These became travel mementos each of them bearing their own set of memories.

Some of the shakers came as gifts from my grandmothers friends or relatives on their journeys. These friends would go on vacation or what have you. While they were there, knowing my grandmother had this collection, they would pick up a set of shakers and bring them home to her. As a Libra, I always thought that was nice. People were thinking of my grandmother fondly while they were traveling. And, their kindness was shown to her in a way that she appreciated. You know?

At any rate, I grew up looking into this cabinet and hearing stories of where the shakers came from and of where my grandparents had been.

I've also knew several years before my grandmother died that I would inherit this cabinet. She would tell me I'd have it one day and I would tell her I never wanted it. Not because I didn't actually want the cabinet or the shakers but because I never wanted the circumstances to arrive for me to have it. I didn't even collect the cabinet when my grandmother passed away. Something about having it still in her house after she was gone made me feel like a part of her was still there. Yet, when my grandfather died in 2012, the entire house had to be dismantled and everything was dispersed among family members. So, I brought the cabinet and all its contents home.

The cabinet sat in my living room and for a long time; I was averse to even touching it. I wanted to leave it exactly as she had left it. Each time I looked at it, though, I thought about my grandparents and the idea of inheritance. I wanted to keep this cabinet and pass it on to my grandchildren; but, I wanted to give it a little bit of “me” for them to look back on.

So, I decided to refinish it. As I said, I started this project under an active moon and, now, I only work to finish it on Void Moon days. I've packed the salt and pepper shakers up so my own grandchildren (2 young boys aged 5 and 2) wouldn't think they were toys and accidentally break them. I took off the glass doors and removed the shelves and stripped off the old stain which was that 1960's light maple or pine.

Then, I painted the interior of the cabinet flat black. It took me about a week to pick out the right stain (Because I'm Libra like that). Finally, I chose a nice reddish mahogany and I'm really satisfied with how it turned out.

On the inside of the cabinet, I've affixed pictures of all the family members (on both sides of my and my husbands family) that have passed on. Now, the cabinet holds not just where my grandparents had been but where we all came from. On the largest part of the cabinet, I affixed letters that my grandfather wrote to my grandmother while he was stationed in the Air Force (where he was when they met). They are dated from 1940-42 and speak of nothing but how much he loved her and missed her. At the very top of the one I placed in the middle he wrote “True Love” in big letters and underlined it three times. Who does that anymore? Well, saps like me do that. And, I put it in the cabinet just so my future generations could see THIS is how our family does it...we love each other and we let that be known. This is where we came from.

The paragraph in the above picture reads (under True Love) “I do believe the Lord above created you for me to love. He picked you out from all the rest because he knew I loved you best.” That's my grandmother on your left and my grandfather on your right.

I still have many pictures to add. The shelf that goes in the middle is the last piece to be refinished. The trick? The cabinet will never be finished completely. There will always be more family members to add. Take that Void Moon.

What I didn't expect during this refinishing project is how many memories of my grandfather the activity would bring back. He is the one who put the cabinet together originally. He is the one who put on the original stain and replaced the shelf when it was broken. As I sanded away the old finish, it released the smell of his workshop. The smell was so strong and familiar, I felt as if I was working on the cabinet in my grandfather's workshop and he was there with me.
My husband's family (and mine, too) intermingle on the top shelf

Tinkering with wood was my grandfather's hobby. He would spend hours in this workshop after he retired and every Christmas, it would be revealed to us just exactly what kind of projects he had been working on. One year, he made everyone standing bird houses that we each took home and decorated. One year, he made quilt racks which were used to hang the handmade quilts that my grandmother had made for us. My favorite, though, was the keepsake boxes he made out of old post office box doors. The combination dials still worked so it was like having a little safe.

I talked to my grandfather the entire time I was working on this cabinet. And, we have had some really nice visits. When I finally had it completely stripped down and put the first brushes of stain on it, I could feel his pleasure with my choice of color. It was just like we had worked on the entire project together. And, maybe we did.

The point? Well, obviously, even Void Moons can be useful. You've just got to get a little creative. Thankfully, we're working under a creative sky right now. How can you trick (work with instead of against) the Void Moon?

Our Moon enters Capricorn at midnight tonight.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for September 29, 2014

Things may start out slow this morning as the Moon is waxing away from a square with Neptune as we drag ourselves out of bed (4:43 AM EDT). However, if you made intentions at the New Moon in Libra and have yet to take your first true step forward, today is a good day to make a bit of progress.

The Moon in Sagittarius meets the Libra Sun by sextile at 6:12 AM. The fog from the initial square to Neptune begins to burn off quickly. The rest of the evening, the Moon links up the Fire Trine created by Mars in Sagittarius (conjunction at 2:34 PM), Uranus in Aries (trine at 9:48 PM) and Jupiter in Leo (trine at 11:30 PM).

As the fire is growing, Venus dances into her home sign of Libra (leaving her detriment in Virgo) at 4:53 PM. From Libra, Venus will quincunx both Neptune (Oct. 3) and Chiron in Pisces (Oct 10). She will oppose Uranus in Aries (Oct 11), sextile Mars in Sagittarius (Oct. 20) and Jupiter in Leo (Oct 14). She will make a closing square with Pluto in Capricorn on Oct 8 at 12 degrees Cardinal (original conjunction to Pluto occurred in December prior to her retrograde period, opening square on May 15 and her opposition occurred near the New Moon in Leo on July 28). For a full review of her dance with Pluto thus far, you can find the write up here. Venus also meets Mercury Rx via conjunction on Oct 17 at 22 degrees Libra.

Putting Venus' movements into the rest of our Libra season scene (which are pretty important given Venus rules this sign while the Sun in Libra is in Fall), as Venus makes her closing square with Pluto in Capricorn, we will be also be experiencing a Full Moon Eclipse spanning from Libra to Aries. Oh...did I forget to mention that? Why, yes, Venus and Pluto will fill in a Cardinal t-square during the eclipse each falling at 11 degrees Cardinal (eclipse occurs at 15 degrees Cardinal). By the way, Uranus in Aries is also tightly in this eclipse too, while Chiron in Pisces will be within orb of an inconjunct.

At the New Moon Eclipse in Scorpio on Oct. 23, Venus will be at 0 degrees Scorpio. Wait...isn't the New Moon eclipse AT 0 degrees Scorpio? Um...yep. Venus officially catches up with the Sun on Oct. 25 but the Moon passes over Venus first before finding the Sun on the 23rd (conjunction of Moon to Venus 5:13 PM with the New Moon eclipse occurring at 5:58 PM). Well. I'll be dipped. She's certainly a player folks!
Also, between eclipses, Venus sits at the top of a Kite from Oct 11 all the way until she finally meets Mars by sextile on Oct 20. From here, she directs and connects the waning Fire Trine.

What was it I was saying yesterday about deciding what it was you STILL wanted and realizing you have the power to drive the train to get you there? And what a gorgeous train ride THAT would be? In the middle of October? As the Autumn leaves are peaking? I've actually had the privilege to do that once. Magnificent and beautiful experience.

I don't know how any other Libran natives feel, but I'm liking the fact that my Sun's ruler is so active AND in her home sign at my Solar Return. Libra gets a bit of a kiss even if some of us will have a big honking Full Moon eclipse in our charts. Many will have that nice little Venus kite within orb during their return. too. No way I'm complaining. Not when our polar opposite Aries friends all got stuck with their Sun's ruler in detriment and retrograde in every stinking one of their returns. Nope. I'll take this placement with a “Thank you very much, Universe! I'm going to draw on this lovely Venusian energy all year!”

Ahh, but back to today. The morning starts out slow but picks up speed rather quickly. It would be a good idea to make a short list of things you want to do in the morning and spend the rest of the day actively checking things off. It may be hard to sit in one place as the Moon passes through the Fire Trine this evening. So, if you can get outside and move around this evening, do so. Enjoy these pleasant fall days. Scurry around preparing for colder weather (the squirrels are busy doing it!). The urge and energy to move will certainly be present. Burning some of that off before bedtime may even help you rest more peacefully tonight. An early evening barbeque and a nice bonfire with your friends as the sun goes down has wonderful potential for tonight too, if you can fit that in.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for September 28, 2014

If you felt heaviness due to the Moon in Scorpio waxing into conjunction with Saturn on Saturday, know that pressure is waning today. The conjunction from Moon to Saturn occurred at midnight overnight.

Today, the Moon waxes into sextile with practical Venus in Virgo (4:32 PM) during her last full day in the sign. After the Moon reaches Venus, she becomes Void until entering Sagittarius at 6:51 PM EDT.
(By the way my Venus return readings are on SALE during Libra season. Good thing for ANY Venus sign given the fact that Venus is coming home very, very soon and has been quite the unexpected player in a lot of what we see going on. These are normally up to $75 for both Astrology and Tarot insight. But, NOW only $40 through Libra season. Check out the services tab above for details.)

The Sagittarius Moon's first encounter is a square to Neptune in Pisces (4:43 AM on Monday morning).

This is a good day for rest and relaxation according to the Moon. So, if you find yourself in need of one of those, here you go.

But (Dammit Josi, is there always a but?), let me tell you a little bit about what I've been observing lately. I'm seeing a lot of emotional heaviness. I'm seeing many stuck in indecision. I'm seeing some getting smacked around in attempts to finally...once and for all...move forward. In light of those smacks, I'm seeing some people give up or contemplating giving up. I'm also seeing that longer a person sits under this black cloud of heaviness, the darker and heavier it gets.
Yeah. And, that's all I've got to say about that

The solution? Move. Peel yourself off the couch or out of the bed and move. Seriously, it is just that simple. Get out of your head and into your physical body. I know if you are sitting under this cloud right now that going out in public or relinquishing your grasp on despair and disappointment is likely the last thing you want to do. But, in the back of your mind, what you REALLY want to do is still lingering around reminding you of all the reasons why you should be pulling the covers up over your head.

At the same time, I'm seeing others break free. Not everyone is stuck under this cloud. What this tells me is there is a way out...yes, even for you.

Take a walk back in time with me for a minute. In January of this year, we experienced Venus Rx in Capricorn and Mars' entrance into Libra. Yuck. And. Yuck, basically. But, what was happening then is we had an opportunity to note how we could build around our value systems and we discovered how stable the framework around our money and relationships was...or not with Venus.

Mars was showing us all kinds of stuff in his ridiculously LOOOONG passage through Libra. Plans were foiled. Some partnerships failed. Some partnerships encountered role reversals (shoes switched feet). Yet, SOME partnerships held together through all this and were actually strengthened. Anyone learn anything from any of that?

There were eclipses in the spring. Some of these events (Mars Rx, the eclipses, etc) manifested illness, injuries or blockages of another kind. Many were stuck in place as the eclipses roared in and gave us a lot of news of things we really couldn't do anything about. The mud and the plot thickened.

THEN, the tides rose washing in emotions from seemingly nowhere. More illness and blockages emerged as Mars (FINALLY) moved into Scorpio only to run into Saturn.

Mars in Scorpio brought angst for some but determination, endurance and forbearance for others. And, then, there was Jupiter that tricky little dicky. When Jupiter left Cancer, many thought the emotional washout was over. But, as Jupiter moved into an inconjunct with Neptune in Pisces, many were unexpectedly washed out again. That aspect waned away and we continued to look at the sky thinking...alright, when is that window going to open because I'm going to jump through it.

Windows did open in the last month or so as Mars left his contact with Saturn. But, then, he immediately was sucked underwater with a square to Neptune. People were still holding onto their plans with little shards of hopefulness. How many times were we stopped in our tracks so that we had to evaluate, truly, what it was that we wanted to do and whether or not it was worth it? How many times were stopped and asked to redefine our plans? How many times were we tasked with opposition from others and foiled by our responsibilities toward others in a way that kept us from moving forward? How many times were we emotionally swamped to a degree that not only we could we not address those plans but we really didn't care? Lots. And, lots and lots.

The year was so intense that some people did not make the complete journey. People died under these skies leaving us behind in the mud as we mourned, wallowed and wondered, “Truly, what IS the point?”

Pluto in Capricorn tore stuff down. Uranus in Aries blew things up. Global news became more and more distressing. The ground literally shook beneath our feet. Personal priorities changed. The circumstances of life shifted in ways we could have never anticipated. We saw leadership fall. We discovered just exactly the level of mistrust at which we held our governments and established systems. Martyrs were born through public beheadings, kidnappings and murders. Athletes fell from being stars and heroes into being killers and abusers. Police and those in authority were revealed, in many instances, to be part of the oppressive problem. Doctors were revealed to be pill pushers. Corporations were revealed to be thieves. And, the entire time we were looking around thinking “What the actual frack is going on here?” We were tasked with acknowledging our own accountability in the midst of it. We discovered there was a common thread in all of this. People. People are news reporters. People are politicians. People make up corporations. People are police officers. People are thieves and killers. A small percentage of people are making things insufferable for an even larger group of people. And, we are people. How could anyone detach from that fact? Yet, quietly there was also a realization that “If people did this, then surely people can change this and I AM A PEOPLE.”

Yet, as we discovered this, we still mourned. We felt more ineffective. We felt more powerless. We were pissed off and there wasn't a darn thing anyone could do about it but the effects upon our emotional bodies were undeniable.

Still yet, changes were made. In the US, rights to marriage grew. We still have a few states lingering behind. But, the pressure from the rest of the country is mounting for these states to come up off of their outdated prejudices. We were shown that racism, sexism and all the other isms were still buried in the psyche even though many think it is a thing of the past. It was still being perpetrated in homes and in lives across not only our country but the entire world.

People stood up to police. People stood up to corporations. People stood up in the midst of all of this. Differences have been made all while revelations of “MORE CHANGE IS NEEDED” popped up in our personal lives and on the global stage. Indeed, we still have a long way to go.

We, on the large part, accepted all of this. We endured it. We were personally affected by it in ways many didn't expect. Collectively, we began to care and had a great desire to take action. So, as this recent window opened and hope seemed to shine through once again, we began standing on our shaky legs and tried to move forward again. Some progressed and others got knocked down again hitting the ground with an exasperated “Ok. You win. I give up.”

I can read back through all the things I've written just now and pull out one thing. What part of “doing things they way they always have been done AIN'T CUTTING IT” did we not get?

Well, change is tough. Much of what we have endured has been excruciating. Yet, even if we may be hiding under the covers in our beds, we are still here...leftovers in this new world.

We need creative and inventive answers to deal with our lives and in light of the destruction we have have witnessed. Hmmm...creative and inventive answers. That sounds a lot like something Jupiter in Leo (creative) and Uranus in Aries (inventive) can address. Grab your map and your compass because the world is brand new (with some old crust that remains to fall off) and we, the leftovers, get to pioneer her new foundations. And, our North Node and all the action we've had in Libra (Mars retrograde, Mercury soon to be retrograde) and with Venus (retrograde in Capricorn), says we've got to figure out a way to work together.

Are you still trying to build in the Old World? Or are your plans equipped to handle the fluctuations of the old crumbling away in light of something new? Do you still want what you wanted at the beginning of the year? Or has that picture changed a bit? Have your priorities changed?

My priorities have changed. But, still yet, the picture of “what I want” has not. I'm still holding on to one or two things for which I still have great ambition. Looking back over my intentions for the year, there are some that I repeated over and over and over all the way up until our most recent New Moon. And, yep, I stood up on my shaky legs, determined to continue hacking my way through the wilderness in an effort to obtain these things and got smacked right back down. Or at least, that's what I thought.

I spent a day being discouraged. The words, “Ok, I give up.” slipped out of my mouth. I managed to shake that off and instead of trying to fight the smack down, I let it take me down and as I did I fostered a sense of acceptance saying, “Ok. This is how things are. There is no denying it. But, I still want THIS. So, how can I navigate in spite of it?”

I had to get creative. Really creative. I think many of us have lost touch with how to do that. However, do you think any of our genius inventors of the past ever accomplished anything by 1) doing things the way they had always been done 2) giving a crap about those who said what they wanted to do couldn't be done 3) not failing numerous times before finally...FINALLY...reaching the point of EUREKA? Nope. Do you think, if we were able to ask any of these people if their efforts were worth it, they would say, “No.” Ya think they would tell you it was easy? Hell no it wasn't easy and that is part of what made that FINAL success worthwhile!

All of this is where we were. Where we are now is staring down the barrel of a Mercury retrograde, two more eclipses and a fire trine with Jupiter, Uranus and Mars. That fire trine is going to poke at people. We are going to, again, want to move forward. Unexpected opportunities are going to arise during this time. Some, in their desperation, are going to jump on the first train that comes along carrying the baggage of their “wants” with them even if the train isn't going in that direction.

Those that jump on those trains that are not consistent with the path and in the direction they want to go are likely going to find out that all they did was derail themselves as Mercury finishes his backward trek in the sky. However, those that are able to control their drive are going to wait for the train that fits their destination even if the other trains look really tempting. NO ONE is going to want to sit motionless. And, if you choose to do that (sit still), then the heaviness in the sky is going to keep bearing down. The black cloud is going to get bigger. And, as trains leave the station, those that sit are going to be left behind, again. Those that jump too hastily are going to end up somewhere they never intended to be. But those who have a strong sense of what they want and where they want to be and can hold their movements until the RIGHT opportunity (train) comes along because they are NOT willing to compromise that will be the first to set foot upon new land. And, as Saturn enters Sagittarius, these travelers will be the ones making the new maps, the new rules, the new philosophies.

So now, the question remains. What is it that you want that you have held onto this entire year? How bad do you want it? Your actions will define this. And, define it you should because the Universe is ridiculously impartial. You jump on that first train that comes along and the Universe is going to take you to that destination. You sit still and the Universe is going to let you sit there in your despair and misery. Once you realize that Universe is not punishing us. God didn't do this to us. People are the common thread here and YOU ARE a people...a creator of your own life...well, then you are also going to realize there is a bit of power in that. Then, you realize you are not riding a train; you are steering it.

Any experienced train conductors in the audience? Gulp. Yeah, me neither. And, the realization of “I've got the power of a locomotive under my control and I'm embarking upon on a new journey (Mars in Sagittarius) to personal freedom (Uranus in Aries) and I'm going to have to engage every bit of my own wisdom and creativity (Jupiter in Leo) to get there just as Mercury goes retrograde” is kinda intimidating. How does one travel under a Mercury retrograde? Is that even advisable?

Sure it is.

First, you check your equipment and recheck it, again. Your equipment is your body. It needs to be well cared for you to steer this train. It also needs to be well fueled so make sure you don't put any GMO garbage in your tank. You read the directions more than once and sometimes you have to write your own directions because this is brand new territory. It takes time, diligence, analysis, cooperation, collaboration and patience. You have to be emotionally sober and stable. No drunken train conductors, please. So, employ what Jupiter in Cancer taught you...that water levels and emotional states are important factors in EVERYTHING. So be mindful and give credence to your emotional body and it's needs during this journey. Rewind and rewrite the story as you go. Are you going to drive your train over someone else's to get where you need to go? The signal worker says, “That's the OLD way. We no longer allow that in the New World. Thou shall NOT pass.” Instead, you network with other train conductors (Uranus in Aries and NN in Libra).

Know that you will have to steer your train around the trains of others and you cannot blast through obstacles on your path. You are going to have to switch tracks from time to time to get around them. You will make connections and the NN in Libra encourages you to do that in fostering the new community of “man” (Uranus in Aries). Sometimes, there may not be tracks to where you want to go or the bridge is out (Pluto in Capricorn). So, build one.

Sagittarius is a mutable sign. You can switch directions. Aries is a cardinal sign. You can pioneer it. Leo is a fixed sign, you are who you are and once you know who that it is and accept it then you know exactly what type of equipment you have to work with.

Don't wait for a train driven by someone else to come and pick you up. Yet, feel free to drive your train side by side one another during the time the two (or three or four) of you are going in the same direction building the tracks together as you go. Foster a sense of mutual support and encouragement instead of competition and tug of war. Gather supportive people around you and give the nay sayers ZERO of your energy. Let them sit behind in the crumbling old world with their “I cant's.” Maybe when you prove, “I CAN AND DID” it will inspire them out of their funk of “can't.” Or maybe not. Either way it is not your train's concern.

The big task here is figuring out what it is you want. Then, discerning how badly you want it. Then, of course, learning how to drive this freaking train...which is you (Jupiter in Leo) and realizing that, indeed, it is a huge responsibility (Saturn in Sagittarius) that affects more than just you. And, you CARE about that now (Neptune in Pisces).

100% of it is up to you.

Are you the little engine that could? Or are you completely out of steam? Either way, the train is waiting. You can either steer it, jump on and let someone else drive, leave it to rust and rot or watch it pull out of the station without you. However, YOU choose, I definitely think you can. In the long run, though, what I believe matters very little. What does matter is whether or not YOU think you can.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for September 27 2014

Emotions are strong, stable and sober this morning as our Scorpio Moon meets Pluto in Capricorn via sextile at 7:26 AM EDT. With Mercury in his current condition, there is a chance for those that struggle with depression to relapse here.

Pluto in Capricorn together with a Scorpio Moon can be fortifying. However, if a mentality of delusion and paranoia exists, these can be exacerbated by the square from the Moon to Jupiter in Leo that perfects at 3:40 PM. Consciously take measures to turn these feelings around by re-directing your brain to look ONLY at the facts while attempting to provide yourself with a more positive interpretation.

This sounds easy enough for the person who does not suffer from obsessive, dark and penetrating thoughts. But, for the person who does suffer, darkness can certainly increase.

Rely on tried and true methods of treating any type of emotional distress by breaking things down into small manageable chunks. Step one. Get out of bed. Step two. Eat breakfast. Move forward step by step all the while managing emotions moment by moment.

Today has potential to be heavy as the Moon also waxes toward a conjunction with Saturn at midnight. Remember, it is passing.

Take the weekend to take meticulous care of your emotional body. Self-nurture. Bring yourself out of your head space and into your body by employing yourself through a medium such as literature, music, dance or any other type of creative form. Jupiter trine Uranus encourages you to reach for these. But, the energy there is not forceful. In other words, you may have to reach for it.

Our Sun in Libra meets Neptune by inconjunct this morning at 10:52 AM. This can be a fogged and skewed sense of self that demands to express itself under a misunderstanding and nebulous and heavy sky. Try your best not to fall in that trap. Instead, allow the sense of self to blur as you express it outwardly through creative means. Don't be afraid of what your brush want to paint. Allow the strokes to speak for you as you remain an ever present observer.

Tomorrow, the Moon leaves the grave of Scorpio and enters the lighter realm of Sagittarius. Things will become less heavy but no less watery (emotional and potentially creative) as her first aspect is a square to Neptune in Pisces. However, Tuesday, packs a punch with the Moon sextiling our Libra Sun, conjuncting Mars in Sagittarius and joining the trine between her current ruler, Jupiter, and Uranus in Aries. At this time, we may begin to see inkling of brightness returning through the slow turning of the Autumn leaves in US.

Venus supports natures self-expression, too as she moves from Virgo to her home sign of Libra on Tuesday as well.

In the meantime, hang in there. Be gentle with yourself. Come out of your messy brain and back into your body where creativity and physical movement can bring freedom and beautiful self-expression that words and thoughts don't necessarily support right now. Sitting still is certainly not going to be easy as Mars moves into the trine between Jupiter and Uranus. Get out there. Explore. Move and give your worried mind a break for a few days. Afterall, the whole message is not in just yet. In the smart and unexpected words of my husband, “Maybe we are moving forward and we just don't see it yet.” Yes, indeed. It is a lot like that.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for September 26, 2014

Our Moon in Libra touches upon Mercury in Libra this morning at 8:40 AM EDT before reaching Void status. This occurs at 29 degrees of Libra. The Moon is Void for a mere 2 hours until entering Scorpio at 10:30 AM.

From here, the Moon waxes into trine with Neptune in Pisces perfecting at 8:54 PM.

Mercury has slowed down significantly and will enter Scorpio tomorrow at 6:40 PM. Mercury remains in Scorpio throughout the rest of the month giving us a chance to turn inward to examine our shadows before he flips retrograde and heads back into Libra.

As Mercury hovers around the early degrees of Scorpio, we have an opportunity to really dig deep into ourselves to discover things of which few will speak. Additionally, Mercury will be within orb of a trine from Neptune Rx in Pisces during the entirety of this short preview in Scorpio. All of this gives credence to an increasing quiet among people where most will need to become reliant upon non-verbal communication in an effort to gather information.

A slowed and fogged up Mercury in trine to Neptune in Pisces can create a sense of paranoia on one side of the extreme. Outward communication can be misconstrued easily during these days. Minds can feel sluggish and confused.

In written communication, you do have a chance to edit and review your message before attempting to convey it to someone else. However, know that it is not an indication that the receiver will comprehend what you have said in the way you have intended...if they receive it all. Messages have a tendency to get lost either literally or metaphorically with Mercury in this condition. Therefore, follow up becomes imperative if you are trying to convey something important.

In direct conversations with others, listen carefully to the feedback you receive to ensure you are both on the same page. In listening, reflect back what you are hearing from the speaker to ensure you are hearing the message they intend.

Scour through any contracts or legal documents that need to be signed requesting all the time you need to make sure you understand the details of the requirements to which you are agreeing.

Otherwise, keep messages as short and simple as possible. Know that if what is coming out of your mouth does not match what your body is saying, people will pick up on it quickly. Non-verbal cues such as body language, inflection and tone will be the largest sources of true information.

Communication through pictures, poetry and music will be favored. But, as I said before, many may grow increasingly quiet holding plans and conversations close to their chest.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for September 25, 2014

If you would like a preview of the upcoming eclipse (if you've not encountered it already) today is your day. This morning, we wake up to a budding Moon in Libra waxing into a sextile with Jupiter in Leo (5:22 AM EDT) and an opposition with Uranus in Aries (5:31 AM).

Obviously, Jupiter and Uranus are becoming closer and closer in their trine which will perfect later today at 2:19 PM.

What happens when Science and the higher mind (Uranus) work together with Religion and philosophy (Jupiter) instead of constantly trying to debase one another? My belief is that wonderful things can happen. I also believe that each holds at least partial keys to what the other is searching for. And, with Mars skirting through Sagittarius (drive for a greater understanding), we may just get the opportunity to see such a collaboration take place. I smile as I think “Wouldn't that be nice?”

On a personal level, though, with the transiting Moon in Libra opposing its future position at the point of the eclipse, you may hear future echoes of what lies in store for you. The inkling is likely to manifest through your emotions. This could very well cause instinctual reactions to emerge.

It is important, I think, to note that there is quite a difference between instinct and intuition. Instinct is the body's visceral response to outside stimuli. One widely known concept of this is the body's reaction to an event triggered by the release of adrenaline called fight or flight.

However, intuition enters through the emotional body. Intuition can certainly trigger instinctual reactions. This can lead to impulsive (thoughtless) actions which can come in handy during an emergent situation (just like the fight or flight response). But, intuition does not always preclude an emergency. The visceral reaction that it provokes can certainly make it feel that way, though. It is never wise (being that acting with wisdom is your goal) to act impulsively upon insight or intuition.

Let the lightbulb light up. But, consciously slow your body's response down in order to properly identify the purpose of the intuitive message.

Of course this involves being mindful of your physical body's condition as well as the condition of your emotional body. Ground your energy to soothe both before you allow the visceral response to intuitive inklings to lead you toward regrettable directions.

I recently had a conversation with a Christian lady who had been born with the gift of sight. She sees dead people. She had recently approached members of her congregation with questions about this gift. She wanted to be rid of it, frankly, seeing it more as a curse than a blessing.

I do understand this. A few years ago, I had requested and began exploring the possibility of being able to see Spirit. I became scared myself. I've quite the vivid imagination. Plus, I watched way too many horror flicks as a child making me wary of what I might walk around the corner and see. Almost as quickly as I requested the gift, I rescinded it happily settling back into my clairaudience, instead.

I was disheartened to discover that the lady's congregation offered her no solace or answers. Some even steered clear of her in light of her questions.

I get that people are often afraid or resistant to things they do not understand. Yet, I was perplexed as to why the group didn't advise her to pray about  her problem. I guess that was my job in the situation because that is exactly what I told her to do. As a matter of fact, I prayed WITH her even though I don't follow the Christian religion. I mean, her question was not about my religion or spirituality. Her question was about her religion and spiritual pursuits.

I do not see the benefit of debasing someone's beliefs, especially, if those beliefs hold strong influence over their life. What someone believes is not my business. Yet, I've seen others practically foam at the mouth at an opportunity to deconstruct someone's spiritually based search as if it somehow justifies and strengthens their own. Mind you, there is A LOT I don't understand.

Boundaries are a blessed thing
Even in my line of work, I sometimes receive ugly comments from various people being called everything from a harbinger of Satan to a member of the “lost.” I adamantly stand on the phrase, “All who wander are not lost” and maintain that trolling writings like mine is no different than me taking my tarot deck and table and setting it up in a church foyer. Out of respect for others, I would not do that. Also, because I've fostered a sturdy sense of self, I do not find these comments threatening. I smile, instead, knowing they are saying little about me but, in their projections, the person is telling me everything about the shakiness of their own faith.

Perhaps, basic respect and a sense of self is what lacks here (in the midst of the battle between Science and Religion). Yet each time I say that, I'm countered with “THEY don't deserve respect!” to which I counter, but what about your own self-respect? How does that not keep you from showing your proverbial Ass? :) I get that too. Doesn't always stop me either.

I can no more say that Scientific explorations are fruitless than I can say Religious explorations are fruitless. The fault does not lie in the practices themselves, but more in the practitioners. Just as a foreign language being interpreted to someone who doesn't speak it is not at fault for a misinterpretation or language barrier. No. The fault there lies upon the interpreter, speaker or listener—the human, not the art. In case you do not know, the human race is incredibly flawed. For good reason! What good would it do to come to Earth to learn if we were born perfect? Instead, we are perfectly imperfect which leads us to a great number of learning opportunities.
Can we not see that Science and Religion search for the same answers only traveling different paths? Why do they need to be carried to such defensive extremes? Again, the fault lies not in tenets or practice of either but more on the weakened knees of those on whichever path they have chosen.

Sometimes I chuckle as I think, “What's going to happen when these folks find out both paths lead to the same thing?” Then, I remember, it's not my business and walk away still chuckling.

No, I don't feel as if I have all the answers. I'm continually searching for more. But, in no way does my search need to infringe on someone else's. I will, however, be more than happy to assist someone else in finding or re-finding their own even if it causes our journey's to diverge; because, I know, in some way, we will meet again. I also know that the divergence is not going to rattle my own foundation.

I respect my own beliefs. In turn, I can foster respect for someone else's even if they don't align with mine.

I think Science is important. It provides information obtained through the testable Scientific Theory that provides quantitative and measurable results. I think Religion is important. For me, Religion was a gateway drug straight through the doorway in search of a higher understanding of myself, something greater than myself and toward the source of something I know that exists...higher and ethereal love providing intangible but still infinitely valuable results.
See? The Scientist and Philosopher can get along when they want.

Most importantly, to me, is the fact that moreover, no matter what Religion a person adheres too, they typically pray routinely. With all the negativity dispersed into our collective consciousness, the prayers for love, healing and peace are not only needed but NECESSARY.

Not that a person has to be religious to pray. But, many people who are religious do pray and I'm in no way ready to catalyze them away from that in attempt to jerk them over to my side of the fence anymore than I am ready to cut off my own foot.

At any rate, I'm hopeful that Jupiter and Uranus dancing via trine will bring awareness of this beneficial type of mutual respect. Though, I realize the quick transit cannot work miracles nor undo thousands upon thousands of years of conditioning. But, hope, like prayer is essential. I will not give up on either.

I am ready for some highbrow humor (not that I will "get" it until many days into my future). Uranian humor can be quirky and awkward increasing the chance for laughter, in and of itself. And Jupiter, well Jupiter rules over both truth and humor. If that's not funny, I don't know what is.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for September 24, 2014

The dawn of a new day brings the power of a New Moon in Libra having perfected at 2:15 AM EDT. It falls at 1 degree Libra.
Sun and Moon sitting in tree...K-I-S-S-I-N-G

We are officially in a new season having surpassed the equinox, which is a balancing of day and night. As a Libra, the thought of the hours of the day being in perfect balance brings me pleasure. How would it be logical for the beginning of the sign of balance to fall upon any other day?

What is Libra, anyway? It is the only zodiac sign without a live archetype. Aries has the Ram. Taurus has the bull. Gemini has the Twins. Libra? A set of scales (hopefully) hanging in perfect balance.

Balance, however, is not the only principle ruled over by Libra. It also holds the key to mirror images like those equated with Narcissus. It shows us the principles of Justice and Fairness laid out upon its scales much like Maat (the goddess of Truth, Order and Justice) weighed a person's heart against an ostrich feather. Within this mirror image of Narcissus and Maat's principle of balance, we also find the introduction of someone else in partnership, the elusive other.

Is your heart as light as a feather? Or, do you find yourself weighing out the things you have done against the things you have not and finding heaviness? It's a good question to ask.

Preceding this New Moon, I was asked about the principle of false prophets. This weighs heavily upon my mind. As a matter of fact, it is one of the reasons that I turned internally for spiritual guidance instead of continually searching for answers from a specific guru or pastor. I had tried, in the past, to align with certain religions. However, I never really found a doctrine with which I could fully agree.

The weight of the preachings that I could not adhere too, pushed my scales too far out of balance.

The idea of false prophets recently arose to me, again, by someone asking, “What religion am I?”

At first, I stumbled over the question thinking it was a pop quiz. I thought, “Did this person tell me what religion they were and I have forgotten?” That's a pretty important piece of information, for me, to have overlooked. But, no.

The person was specifically asking me to shed light on their own spirituality because they were unsure about how to define it. Little did the person know that defining one's spirituality did not have a name (or at least, doesn't have to). And, the trek toward a person's personal spiritual beliefs may be an ever evolving lifetime pursuit.

I told the person, “The first rule of any type of search for spirituality (and yes, spirituality and religion do differ...though, they really shouldn't) is that you do not allow anyone to dictate your beliefs to you.”

The person tells me they would like to learn and read more about Spirituality and Religion. But, they were afraid of the Bible's mention of false prophets and did not want to be misled.
If you are wondering what false prophets look's some

Interestingly, my answer to that was the same as the first rule of the search of spirituality, “in that instance, turn inward. If something doesn't feel right, then, to you, the prophet is false.”

“But, what about all these New Age spiritual leaders? Sometimes when I listen to what they say, it really resonates with me.”

I tell the person if something resonates with them, they should follow the idea, not necessarily the person. Then, I told them if they were truly on the lookout for false prophets (and yes, they do exist in walks of life), the one sure fire way to spot one is that, eventually, they will preach division among people. True spirituality does not preach this no matter what kind of pulpit or book of teachings that it holds. False spirituality and religion (or the false interpretation of religion, rather) will advise you to be violent or exclusive instead of at peace and inclusive. False prophets are found in extremism. They are ego and material led in one way or another gathering followers as if they were running a pyramid scheme in light of some type of worldly or spiritual reward.
More extremist false prophets

True spirituality needs no enticement of reward but is content within itself while maintaining a grounded balance between exploring the realms of the ethereal while still functioning upon the Earthly plane. Then, I assured the person that they would know and feel the “right” path for themselves as they continued to explore and balance both what they learned from the outside world against what they discovered in their internal journey.
Spiritual journeys are led by the heart not by the ego.

This heart led journey fits nicely with Venus ruled Libra, especially since the Sun (Ego) is in fall in the sign. Embarking upon a spiritual journey during this New Moon is also supported in the sky through an inconjunct to Neptune in Pisces. As a matter of fact, not only is Venus at home in Libra, but according to the book “36 Faces” by Austin Coppock, the Moon (emotion) is thought to rule the Decan upon which this New Moon falls. And, interestingly, the key to the highest expressions of Libra comes not from the outward search of a partner but, first, from the inward search of self found from Aries to Virgo.

Who knew Libra season could be spiritual? But, the ruler of the primordial Spiritual Seas, Neptune is the higher vibration of Libra's ruler, Venus. Also makes sense that “love”, true love between two people is found not in the controlling needs of ego (Sun) but in the non-attached, blending, blurring and surrendering waters of Pisces. Libra whispers this to us, but sometimes is not heard over our ego-led search for partners. Many get caught in Narcissus' journey of ever finding their face projected upon someone else because they have yet to get to know that person...the self. Our SN in Aries tells us the gold in this polarity begins with self. Then, once we get to that self and walk through the rest of the zodiac to Libra, ideally we will be in a balanced sense of self, ready to share that miraculous happening with someone else.

But, how does one strike that balance to begin with (I mean, since we are BEGINNING Libra)?

One way is to begin with the Native American Medicine Wheel. I've studied modern medicine and several different religions. Today finding a holistic approach to anything is rare. The Medicine Wheel, in its simplicity, is brilliantly applicable to anything. It's balance pleases Libra. The following video is the first in a series of 3 (approximately 8 minutes each) videos discussing the Medicine Wheel. If you have 24 free minutes, they are absolutely worth the time.

Coming back full circle to the Sabian symbol for our current New Moon at 2 Libra: The light of the sixth race transmuted into the seventh. I'm led to wonder who is the 7th race or generation and what are they doing with the knowledge that has been passed down to them? Are they active at this New Moon? Yes, I believe they are.
