Morning Star: Daily Astrology for August 15, 2014

This morning, we wake up to Mars in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn. I'm thinking it might be a good idea to make sure your breakfast contains plenty of protein. Nada on the sugary donuts this morning. Though you are likely going to want them with Venus and Jupiter hanging out together.
See these? Are they calling your name? HANG UP! JUST SAY NO TODAY!

The Moon is still active and in Aries as we awake. Mars, the Moon's ruler, is in Scorpio sextiling the Lord of the Underworld in Capricorn. We (Moon) need (Moon) blood (Mars and Pluto)...er, protein. Drive and passion are all heated up and coming in early for the East Coast. Look at it however you want. This is a day when you are going to be thankful for the energy and support that protein will give you in your breakfast this morning or severely missing it later.

On a different note, and what will change this early BASSOON energy around, at noon the Moon in Aries trines Mercury in Leo. Then, the two hold hands (metaphorically, of course) as they each change signs. Moon trines Mercury at 11:51 AM EDT and goes void for a whole 8 minutes before passing into Taurus at 11:59 AM EDT. Mercury enters Virgo at 12:44 PM EDT. Need a brain/mood shift? Here you go! Seeing this come in makes me want to go out and kiss the ground in my front yard and scream LAND HO! Because, that's really how I feel. “Dear Universe, could we please get some grounding down here, pronto? Please? Half the world is on fire while the other half is drowning.”

After we reach land (dear, dear sweet glorious land), the Moon squares Venus in Cancer at about 8 PM. That's when you will remember (or revisit) that donut I told you not to eat this morning. Yep. Then, there is a sextile from Moon to Neptune at 11:36 PM which holds the potential for some sweet dreams or a night of praying to the porcelain gods. Same energy. Just handled differently.

We wake up Mars and Pluto but go to bed with Venus and Neptune. The crucial gear in this comes with the shifting of Moon and Mercury. We decide to either 1) dig our heels in and keep butting our stubborn heads against the same wall or 2) take our toys and go home. We. Get. Real. And, we plan to sit on that for awhile (Taurus) while we sort things out rationally (Mercury in Virgo).
Earth. Glorious, beautiful Earth. Welcome to it.
