Morning Star: Daily Astrology for August 10 2014

Today at 2:10 PM our glorious Full Moon in Aquarius perfects. If you were able to see her last night, she was huge. Beautiful.

The weather in my neck of the woods was a bit weird yesterday. Any time I go outside and the sun is shining brightly but its raining, I think its weird. But, it brought forth this gorgeous rainbow and it made me think of Aquarius. Again. This time, though, I thought of the hopefulness that Aquarius brings such as in the Star.

In Tarot, the Star follows the Tower which is a card that heralds powerful, sweeping and sometimes unexpected change. On the heels of that, the Star brings hope to the ruins of the Tower. Light in the darkness. Such is the brilliance of Aquarius. Illumination. Enlightening. The higher vibration of Uranus, which is in itself the higher vibration of Mercury. You do have to elevate your vibration and tweak your mind (Mercury) and higher mind (Uranus) to change your perspective from seeing destruction to seeing hope.

Sometimes even seeking hope is scary. A person may fear turning their face from the chaos and embracing hopefulness because, what if they get their hopes up only to have them dashed again? Its a valid concern, if you ask me. But, the attempt to do so and the bravery called for in order to do so, are necessary efforts. Necessary for survival.

Mars is currently in Scorpio. This placement is known for endurance and survival. But, don't think that Mars in Scorpio only devours their problems to survive. No. Sometimes Mars/Pluto has to dig deep to find the threads of hope in order to move forward. This IS an important survival tactic. You can have all the endurance and wherewithal in the world, such as with Mars in Scorpio, but without hope the drive to endure and survive diminishes. “I can endure” without hope becomes “Why should I?”

My rainbow from yesterday :)
If you are asking yourself, “Why should I?” Please reach out. Sometimes hope needs help. Aquarius contains the sources of hope as well as the feeling itself, friends, wishes, community resources, advanced holistic medicine. Best thing about it, Aquarius loves all your quirks. Everything little thing about you that makes you unique that the rest of the world may sneer at, Aquarius cherishes and exalts.

Hope is essential. Hope is also the link that will help you navigate today's Astrological weather.

Prior to the Full Moon's perfection, the Moon sextiles her ruler, Uranus, who is currently retrograde at 11:32 AM EDT. This is a lightening aspect allowing us to detach from the emotionality of whatever we are dealing with. Then, the Moon perfects in square to Saturn in Scorpio at 12:32 PM. As the Sun is still within orb of squaring Saturn from Leo, this creates what is called a fixed t-square with the empty leg falling in our fourth fixed sign, Taurus. If you have planets in Taurus at mid-degree (about 13 degrees to 20), then that planet will complete a fixed grand cross with the sky today.

Taurus answers Scorpio's question of “Why should I?” too. Taurus' answer is “because I'm worth it.”

The fixed t-square permeates our full Moon in Aquarius. Aquarius heralds a need for change. Scorpio heralds a need for survival. Leo heralds YOU...it pulls YOU directly into the equation of what is happening in the world and within your community aside from what is happening to you directly. What that means is, the change (Aquarius) affects who you are (Leo) and its going to call for some endurance and deep transformation (Scorpio) and you need to meet this challenge because “you are worth it and IT is worth it.” (Taurus) The change itself, beneath the fear of fluctuation, brings hope.

Yet in fixed signs, change is never easy. These are not behaviors fostered overnight. These are long standing constant behavior patterns that can only be changed by chipping away at the stone. One jagged edge at a time. This is taken one minute and one situation at a time. Chip. Sand and smooth. Chip. Sand and smooth.

And, make sure that chisel is aimed at yourself, Ok? You can't go chipping away at other people. That is their job. Not yours. This sculpture is your project. No one needs to know and you certainly don't need to randomly enforce it upon others. For one thing, that won't work. Change is an internal decision and with Uranus retrograde, the opportunity to change on a personal level for the better (however “better” looks like to you) is knocking.

So what is it that needs to be sheered away? Fear. Prejudice. Sexism. Ethnocentrism. Egotism. Racism. Fear. Fear. Fear because all those things are bred by fear. All. Of. Them and many more. Chip. Sand and smooth. Chip. Sand and smooth whatever you find that applies. Because you are worth it and you are better than someone who cowers in the face of fear. You are stronger than that.

Those are the big rocks that need to go on a personal level. But, you can chip away at anything that is prickling at you at this time and the Universe is not only here to support you through, but it is also kinda pushing you in that direction. The question is not whether change will happen. It is happening. That point should be accepted. Then, you can decide, "Well, if change is going to happen, I might as well do it on purpose."

What is hindering you from being a contributing citizen (Aquarius cares about this!)? Fear of rejection or not being accepted? What is keeping you from being at your highest level of health? Unhealthy habits? Poor self care?

Chip. Sand and smooth. Because, you are worth these tiny changes. And these tiny changes and progress made through them breeds hope, restores self confidence, increases your ability to endure. Because as you change for the better, our world subsequently changes for the better. Addressing ourselves is the first step in helping address the problems in our current world. Its not going to come from standing on a soap box and preaching about what should be done. It is only going to come through a grassroots effort that begins with the person standing in your shoes right now. I would say standing in my shoes, but I'm not wearing any. But, yes, it begins with me too. Admittedly, I've a lot of rocks to chip away at myself. Today, I realize that I have control. Today, I realize I can change one minute and one step at a time because, I'm worth it. My community is worth it. My world is worth it. Chip. Sand and smooth.

How do we begin fixing the world? We begin by fixing ourselves and supporting/nurturing others as they also change. And, this is critical. Venus sits at 29 degrees Cancer during this Full Moon. Quietly, she sits on the sidelines. BUT, our values are the first thing to change. Venus enters Leo tomorrow.

Bovee says “The universal theme touches upon what we as individuals inherit from those who have gone before. The idea is that we are heirs to world and history fashioned by our forefathers and ancestors. In a sense, we are abandoned with an inherited situation.”

How true is that? Most of the problems in the world didn't begin with us...the one's standing on this planet now. But, we sure have to deal with them, don't we? Yes. It IS time for a change. And that change needs to be fostered with the thoughts of what kind of legacy WE are leaving behind.
