On June 23, 1989 Batman was re-animated on the big screen starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson. In those days, Pluto and Saturn were sextile and both moving retrograde. The difference between then and now is Pluto was in Scorpio at 12 degrees and Saturn was in Capricorn at 11 degrees. Their positions have switched. Pluto is hovering around 12 degrees Capricorn while Saturn is on 17 Scorpio.

 

Batman. How can you use your darkness?

 

I was 17 when this movie came out. My older cousin was in from the “big city” for a visit. We had been waiting and waiting for the release of this movie. We had specifically planned his visit around the debut.
I have to be honest with you. I didn't think Keaton had a chance AT ALL of being a good Batman. I was a little disappointed in casting's choice of actors before I actually saw the movie. The draw for me was Jack Nicholson (and Prince handling the musical score).

What I DIDN'T know at the time, though, was that Michael Keaton has Mars in Leo conjunct Pluto in Leo in his natal chart. He also has a Scorpio Moon.

I was wrong in my assessment of Keaton's ability. I've seen each Batman movie that has crossed the big screen since this one debuted. Keaton is STILL my favorite. He IS the Dark Knight.

Prince has Mars/Pluto, too. His Mars is on the Aries Point (0 degrees Aries). And, if that didn't give his Mars enough significance, it is also at the apex of a Yod with his Neptune in Scorpio and Pluto in Virgo. He's also a Scorpio Rising.

But, the BIG draw for me? The only one in this whole movie that I thought would have Mars/Pluto? Here's Johnny? One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest? The guy I cannot seem to get enough of because he has this mysterious, slithery, almost snakelike charm? Jack Nicholson. No Mars/Pluto here. As a matter of fact, Jack's Mars is Retrograde in Sagittarius. But, it wasn't his Mars that was drawing me in.

It was his Pluto in Cancer conjunct his AC in Leo. Powerful actor (Pluto conjunct Leo/AC). And POWER can run any which way. You know? Ever heard people talk about Jack? They either love him or hate him. By the way, he also has Venus in Aries on the MC squaring that Pluto. Strong attraction versus strong repulsion are pretty much a given for a placement like that. Whether people love you or hate you, the reaction is STRONG either way. There is likely very little middle ground.



There is no taming the attraction to bad boys who have a hint of psychopath...sad but true tales of Venus/Pluto natives

 

I can line pictures of these three gentlemen (Keaton, Prince, Nicholson) up and it's obvious that Pluto runs strongly with all of them. And, even if I can tell that my attraction to Jack is different than my attraction to Prince and Michael Keaton, I can also tell that the undercurrent of each type of attraction is 100% the same. Pluto.

This morning we wake up to Moon in Capricorn. You may not notice that so much. What you may notice is the odd craving you have for meat...blood...or sex. Or power. Or destruction. Or sex. Did you happen to run into any really big ferocious dogs during the full moon? Did one scratch you by chance? Are you looking for “bite” marks as you read this?

Then, where is this undercurrent of lustful and powerful and...is it just me? Or is that the sexiest bagel you've ever seen?

Welcome to Mars in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn...take three. This square perfects early today at 8:30 AM. It's a great morning to have more than breakfast in bed.

Here's the thing with this energy, though. It's wild. It's uninhibited. It is PURE instinctual drive. It is coming at us in harsh aspect. So...it's THERE in your face being both alluring and tantalizing and freaking SCARY at the same time.

It is a dangerous energy. Not everyone is going to be able to wear it well. This is a type of lustful intensity that ends up equating to POWER. POWER in the wrong hands...well, that's a type of scary that just goes beyond rationalization.

Word of advice from one who has been weathered under the transit of Pluto in Capricorn squaring their Mars in Libra (that is ALREADY all Pluto-ed up) for the past year or so...pass up the opportunity of becoming a victim of yourself under this transit. We have enough serial killers and murderers in the world. We don't need any new ones. Let's use our powers for good instead of evil. K?

So, how does one use Mars/Pluto for good? Well, best and most basic way to expend this energy is to have one awesome day of sex. Standard cautions do apply. Know your safe words.

You can also revitalize something. Refurbish a piece of furniture. Bring old plants back to life.

Better yet...re-discover your passion. That's what is truly building here. PASSION.

You say "Oh yeah! He was running backward forever!"
I say "Well, he's FINALLY back!"
We BOTH say, "YAY!"

How's your drive been lately? Wishing you had the energy to do something? This is your lucky day, my friend.

 

Defend yourself and be wary of your environment. There are those who will succumb to this energy in not so pleasant ways. So, yes, keep your antenna up and protect yourself. Know the difference between feeling paranoid and having good reason to be paranoid. That's one dynamic that will be in force with this aspect.

BE RESPONSIBLE stewards of this energy. Repeat to yourself, "Moon in Capricorn. Moon in Capricorn. What would the goat do?" Eh, yeah... that's more applicable than I thought.

Waves are certainly rising and cresting today. Mars/Pluto is just one piece of our Astrological puzzle. Thing is, though, it is one that is really hard to ignore. It's especially hard to ignore because you will likely FEEL it as the Moon passes through this square today. Moon conjuncts Pluto right after his square with Mars in Libra (9:44 AM) meaning the Moon also squares Mars at the same time as her conjunction with Pluto (9:45 AM).

We will end the day with a sextile from Moon in Capricorn to Chiron in Pisces (5:44 PM), to Saturn in Scorpio (5:34 PM) and an opposition to Jupiter (2:36 AM on the 15^th). That's a kite with Moon at the top. Did I mention the importance of being emotionally responsible stewards of this energy? Because, if you can do that, you could foster some...

 

The Moon also makes a trine with Venus in Taurus at 9:18 PM. Venus is moving slowly out of her opposition with Saturn and still sitting at the top of her own kite with a sextile to Chiron in Pisces and Jupiter in Cancer.
