Morning Star: Daily Astrology for May 1, 2014

We are here! We have made it to May and I'm SO ready!
It's a busy month for transits of the inner or personal planets. The big players come into play a few times. But, overwhelmingly, this month is about the movements of Mars, Venus and Mercury.
Mercury is the front runner right now. He's ahead of Venus and waaaaaaaay ahead of Mars who is still backpedaling in Libra.

Mercury is gathering information about the future and pontificating about how we all fit into this "new normal." There is a sense of newness and freshness around things. But, then again, when you rip a scab off a wound, that's considered new and fresh flesh under there. And, it's REALLY sensitive.

We may find ourselves still reeling with sensitivity throughout this month. If we rely on the archetype of Taurus, though, we are able to handle things in a "matter of fact" and "down to Earth" steady manner. Diligence. Momentum. Patience. Practicality are ALL in play. Personal comfort and the things that help foster that are also factors during the reign of the Bull.

More than anything, I think the world needs this Earth energy. So much has changed just since the beginning of the year on a personal level AND from a global standpoint.
It's important to realize you are still healing and adjusting from all of that. Be easy with yourself and others.

This morning, we wake up to Moon still in Gemini waxing into square with Neptune which perfects at 6:23 AM. This square sets the foggy, sensitive, elusive tone for the day. Morning risers will be more groggy than usual (no springing out of bed ready to hit the ground running today). Allow yourself a little more time for waking up and for your morning routines.

Things do clear a bit in the evening and some of our energy/motivation is returned to us with a trine from Moon in Gemini to Mars Rx in Libra. It's not a HUGE return on physical energy since this does occur in Air signs and Mars is still retrograde. But, our mental capabilities start to kick up and the water becomes more clear and less muddy. Just remember (I'm looking at YOU Air people and particularly Mars in an Air sign people) just because you THINK or TALK about doing something...that is NOT THE SAME as actually doing it.

People begin putting 2 and 2 together in regard to recent events. And, they will likely talk about their findings and thoughts in different social settings (work, school, grocery store, etc.)
I plan on keeping my ears open to hear some of these tales of the Grand Cross and eclipses coming out. I'm a nosey student of life that way. It interests me how everyone's story is continually evolving. And, of course being an 8th house resident, I'm always interested in the under workings of the psychological process as far as developing coping skills, debunking ineffective ones and just seeing how everyone processes this information differently due various reasons.

At any rate, there will be some fish stories floating around. You will need to be able to discern what is real versus what has been completely blown out of proportion and twisted around.
Some of our feelings of independence and hopefulness for the future do have a chance to creep back into our sphere when Moon makes a supportive sextile to Uranus in Aries perfecting at 7:32 PM.

In the background of today is the waxing and looming opposition from Mercury in Taurus to Saturn in Scorpio. There will be a balancing required for these two entities. I have an inkling that balancing may have to do with matters that involve personal security and comfort vs breeches to privacy. How much of one are we willing to give up for the other? How much of your personal information are you willing to share in an attempt to foster solid relationships and intimacy.

This brings up personal relationship issues as well as issues particular to those of us who live in the US. We want to be safe. But, we don't want to be safe PRISONERS. We want to be safe occupants and contributors of society. There is a very big imbalance of these things in the US right now. It's likely to be a topic on many minds for the next few days while this Mercury/Saturn opposition is in force.

Best way to use it is to be honest and responsible about the information you put out in the world. Are you deliberately or unintentionally fueling "fear mongering"? Are you checking the reliability of the stories you share either online or in person? How responsible are you for what is in the current media?

aaaaaaah, that's a tough one, right? Everyone wants to bash the mainstream media for lying and covering stories that are centered around matters of little importance or are biased but...how much of a role do you (as an individual) play in that?
For example. How long have we been preaching against violence toward women and preaching about the right of victims in situations like rape, etc. But, yet, obviously there is a still a demand for these scenes to be played out AS ENTERTAINMENT every night on our televisions and daily through our music venues. As a consumer, you play a part in all this. So, yeah. There's some Mercury/Saturn issues to let roll around in your head a bit.
At any rate, nothing too dire going on. It's a good day for getting some things accomplished. We are headed into a long day tomorrow of an all day VOC moon. Get your work done today so you can spend tomorrow resting up for the next round!
