Morning Star: Daily Astrology for April 23, 2014

Good morning. I really do hope you slept well. With Mars and Uranus perfecting in opposition, that may have been difficult.

Today, looks to be a bit…yucky. To be honest. We have Mars Rx finishing his backward motion through the Cardinal Cross and Moon squaring Saturn (exact at about noon EDT). Mercury enters Taurus at 5:16 AM so we may wake up with a completely new (and stubborn) mindset.

There are times when I don’t see a darn thing wrong with stubborn. And, actually, if you can dig your heels in and endure these last few weeks of Mars Rx (turns direct 5/20/14), then you may fare pretty well. Tenacity is called for.

Mars squares Pluto at 9:52 AM. This is notorious for fostering power struggles. I’ve had Pluto squaring my Mars for what seems like FOREVER. What I’ve learned is that part of what you encounter (in the way of power struggles/threats) COULD very well be valid. However, the larger part of this transit is about learning to control and direct your energy appropriately. Focus.

Yes, focus is out there. But, don’t go waving your laser beam about haphazardly. Make sure what you are giving your attention to is WORTHY of your time and efforts. With Mars Rx, this could bring a boost to your energy levels. However, keep working on meting your energetic efforts out evenly. Otherwise, you run the risk of depletion and energetic bankruptcy because this is a TRANSIT. It doesn’t last forever. Take advantage of it but don't overdo.

Sometimes in a power tug of war, the best tactic is to just let go of the rope.

So, yes. Use it. But, don’t overdo and don’t become obsessed about everybody being “out to get you.” Chances are, they are not. But, if they are, take appropriate action. Where the skies are right now, verbal debates aren’t going ANYWHERE.

Moon square Saturn is our tension from the lines of Aquarius and Scorpio (perfecting at 12:12 PM). You can ground here. But, it often plays out as a depressive and suppressive aspect. When in doubt, work on something. Saturn always likes that and he traditionally rules Aquarius. Bring some “down to earth” wisdom to those unusual Aquarian inventions that you may be in the mood to come up with.

Sure, a tardis would be cool. But, do you think that is a really good thing to unleash on the populace at large? I’m thinking…no. Though, it did seem to work out well in “Hot Tub Time Machine” or maybe I’m just a really biased John Cusack fan…

Moon goes Void after this square. So, it’s inadvisable to start anything in the afternoon. More wrap up. More purging. More getting ready for the New Moon.
