Morning Star: Daily Astrology for April 30, 2014

We wake up to Moon in Taurus separating from an opposition to Saturn in Scorpio which perfected at around 11 PM last night. The tension from that opposition is now waning.
Mercury in Taurus formed a sextile with Jupiter in Cancer at 4:32 AM. Pleasant dreams. And, we wake up with a tad more optimism.

Taurus Moon will sextile Venus in Pisces at about noon bringing what we need and what we want onto the same page. Then, she goes Void until Moon enters Gemini at nearly 5 PM.
Today seems a little lighter and less eventful than the last few days.
And, although you may not notice it right off, it's also a pretty Neptuney day.

Venus in Pisces brings in our first inkling of the King of the Seas. Sometimes, Venus in Pisces can represent the Muse. So, the sextile from Moon to Venus this morning could have us being entertained by whatever form our muse has decided to take on.
When Moon enters Gemini tonight, it immediately begins applying in square to Neptune in Pisces. Neptuney point number 2. This can bring a bit of confusion the conversations generated by Mercury/Jupiter and also prompt more than a few fish tales.
Conversations are prevalent and bit more upbeat..not to mention a little more fluid with the mixture of Jupiter in a water sign. Both these aspects (Moon sextile Venus and Moon squaring Neptune) are EXCELLENT for naps. You may talk in your sleep while you are napping. But, so?

Either way, tonight, we should be able to sleep fairly well under Moon/Neptune.

Enjoy the break that today offers. Treat yourself and keep your ears wide open! Personal tales of the effects of the eclipses and the Cardinal Grand Cross will surely be spoken about over the next few days.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for April 29, 2014

Last night, a solar eclipse (Ring of Fire) happened in Taurus at 2:15 AM. Today we are under the power of a New Moon. Anything new started today leaves behind a solid footprint.

But, the Moon isn't finished. She's a busy chic.
At 10:07 AM Moon trines Pluto. Anything that occurs, we put our heads down and push through. Emotional endurance is accessible, as well as assuredness.
Optimism and perspective take center stage when Moon makes a sextile to Jupiter in Cancer at 1 PM EDT. And, we may need that perspective and optimism as Mercury makes a trine with Pluto at 1:29 PM.

Mercury in contact with Pluto can breed obsessive and paranoid thoughts. But, when used appropriately, can give a person a talent equivalent to x-ray vision. In that, you can see through the garbage of the situation straight to the source of the problem. It also gives your words a particular power. In Taurus, Mercury is solid and stable with a smooth air of charm. When placed in trine with Pluto, solid becomes heavy and air of charm becomes magnetism. You have the ability to grasp deep psychological concepts and when you speak, your words leave a deep impression. IF you access this energy, that is. It is via trine, so not forceful. But, if you have a serious message to deliver---one that needs to leave an impact---today's your day. Or, if you need to study something deep and complex, today is your day. If you want to lure someone into your boudoir, today is definitely your day especially if you also have an enticing dessert waiting on your nightstand. Just watch out for the tendency toward obsession and paranoia. Down the rabbit hole we go!

At 4:14 PM Moon sextiles Chiron. Little ouchie there. A little bittersweet. A little reminder of our own pain and imperfections.
Then, at midnight, Moon opposes Saturn and the night takes on an even more serious tone.
All in all, it's a solid day. Words pack a punch and we may be swept up in some deep thinking. Emotions are strong and run deep but are tinted with a bit of optimism even though our wounds are still fresh. Maintain your perspective. Don't get caught constantly looking over your shoulder and obsessing about the worst that could happen. Solid work and diligent progress are highlighted.
Take one solid step in the direction of your dreams. Welcome to a brand new start.

What does "the deep" sound like? Well, it's a lot like this.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for April 28, 2014

Monday, Monday. What do you hold for us? We wake up to a Void Moon. If you get up before 10 AM today, that is. AT 10:24 AM Moooooooo-n enters Taurus.

Are you ready for this eclipse? It perfects overnight at 2:15 AM. The only thing that happens between now and then is a sextile from Moon to Neptune at 11:08 AM.

You may not realize this, but Venus has pretty much taken over the sky. She’s lining up all her allies from her beach resort in Pisces. She’s strategic like that.

The North Node, Ceres, Vesta, Juno, Mercury, Moon and Sun all fall under the umbrella of Venus’ rule. LET THEM EAT CAKE!

Just kidding. Though, today would be a good day for cake.

The Sabian Symbol for 9 Taurus (where the New Moon Eclipse is coming) is “A Christmas Tree Decorated.” I love Blain Bovee’s take on it.

I’d change one thing though..the way he has worded his blessing/intention. New Moon’s are for planting seeds. So, if you cleaned out the garden yesterday or over the weekend, the time to plant those seeds is tomorrow morning (unless you WANT to do it after 2:15 in the morning.) Whatever works for ya.

BUT, for intentions you should pay very, very close attention to how you are wording this stuff, “May I?” NO. State it as if it already is! Switch “May I receive and honor” to “I receive and honor…” You do not have to ask permission to receive and/or honor. It’s yours. You just have to reach for it. Pin it down. And, declare it to the Universe.

These New Moon Intentions can pack a solid punch. Write them down. Read them outloud. Light a candle in their honor. Bless the entirety of it and go to bed tonight CONFIDENT that whatever it is, it will come. KNOW that you are able to do your part to get it. And, KNOW you deserve to receive. Graciously accept.

Congratulations! You have survived the Cardinal Cross of 2014 AND Aries Season. That means you are one bad mamba jamba and can handle just about anything the Universe throws at you from here. This eclipse is it. It’s all downhill from here. And, when Mars turns direct we get our WHEELS BACK! Yes!

Plant. Your. Seeds!

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for April 27, 2014

I hope you slept in today. I should have advised you to do that yesterday.

Today, we wake up to Moon in Aries and passing through the separating Cardinal T-square. Writing that, I was given an image of Grumpy Cat saying, “GOOD!”

And, that’s right. Let the cross come and pass before it ruins our entire Sunday! Not that it HAS to ruin your Sunday. You can get a lot accomplished in the early morning hours. Got yard work to do? A garden to till up? Yep. Weather permitting today is good for ALL of that. Cleaning up and clearing out the garden, that is. Hold off on the seed planting for a few days. Just get ready for it.

You aren’t going to have to twist my arm to get ME outside today. After this winter? Are you kidding me? Blessed be the work of Spring! Amen? Amen!
Moon opposed Mars at 3:29 AM EDT, squared Pluto at 5:27 AM, conjuncted Uranus at 6:02 AM and squares Jupiter at 7:03 AM. So, if you HAVE slept through all of that and an earthquake didn’t shake you out of your peaceful slumber and a plane didn’t land in your living room…YOU ARE DOING STELLAR! That means it is a good day. Right?

You might not have noticed any of that anyway (earthquakes and airplanes landing in your living room). Sun meets Neptune at 6:34 AM. The slumbering cow looks up and blinks his long eyelashes across his big brown eyes and says, “YAAAAAAAAWN. Wait. What?” He listens for a moment. Shrugs and says, “Wake me up when breakfast is ready.”

After the Moon finds Jupiter via square, she goes Void until entering Taurus at 10:24 AM tomorrow. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG Sunday with a VOC Moon? Hammock. WHERE’S MY HAMMOCK?

Literal Tarot is Literal-Josi's Tarot Take on the New Moon in Taurus

I had this conversation with an Astrologer last week where I described how literal Astrology plays out for me.

For example, the Full Moon eclipse in Libra fell on my Sun. So, during the time preceding the eclipse, I was averaging a loss of a body part a week. I mean, seriously? Can you get more literal than that?

Anyway, tarot has a tendency to work the same way for me. So, when I went to the cards to ask about the New Moon Eclipse in Taurus, I wasn't surprised to see the Faith card come up.
I was drawing from my Legacy of the Divine deck. In this deck Faith is the deck creators interpretation of the Hierophant. The Hierophant traditionally represents Taurus. Uh huh, there ya go. Literal Tarot is Literal.
I think the Universe gets that fact that I don't do hints very well--which is ridiculously un-Libra of me. But, yeah, I need literal. This is what I took from the draw.

How's your faith?

That's a pretty direct and intrusive way to start a conversation. But, really, how is it?

I'm not talking about your religious or spiritual routines. I'm asking about your foundational belief system.

Have you been shaken at your core lately? To a point where you don't know which way is up or what to expect? If so, did you have faith to turn to?

Martin Luther King Jr. is quoted as saying, “Faith is taking the first step even when you cannot see the whole staircase.”

That is kind of what I'm talking about here.

Faith and Hope or inseparable. One cannot really exist without the other. Without Hope, there is nothing to have Faith in. Without Faith, there is nothing to be Hopeful about.

Faith is a very personal concept. Even if two people go to the same church services and practice the same spiritual routines, their faith or understanding of their belief in a higher power will differ.

There are absolutely events that occur that strengthen our faith. There are people that inspire us to renew our faith. Stories that reinforce or confirm our faith. But, the primary source of faith is connected to an interpersonal relationship with something larger and outside of ourselves.

Faith CAN be shaken. And, it should be shaken or we would be even more prone to take it for granted.

In those times when Faith is shaken, what do you do? Do you avert your eyes and heart from the belief that there is divinity in the world? Do you become bitter? Afraid?

Or, do you hit your knees and pray in search of answers and hope?

I mean, to me, abandoning your faith in light of crises is like abandoning your car on the side of the road if it starts to sputter a bit. In this instance, it would be better to focus on what it is screwing up your car rather than just to walk away from the situation. But, people do this!

Something comes along and rattles their cage and it is as if their entire belief system and ability to access faith gets washed down the drain. But, in these times of crises is when we most certainly need our faith more than ever.

How are you about the faith of others? Are you the type of person who shudders when someone is struggling to get up from a devastation and they are expressing hopefulness about the situation? For example, Lady X is 50 and is getting a divorce. A thirty year cycle of her life is ending. She's been emotional and deflated for a long time and finally she gets to the point where she says, “You know, I think everything is going to be a OK. I'll find love again with someone else. And, even if I don't, I still have plenty of love inside me.”

How would you respond to that? Are you the type of person that would come in with the negative potentials of the situation? Or, would you see that little glimmer of hope in the person and reinforce that even though you know there could be bumps on the road ahead?

Can you nurture someone else's faith even though it may be different from your own? That's a hard bridge for some people to cross. Instead of focusing on the person, their hope and their problems what ends up happening is an attempt to convert the person to your belief system. What that does is confirms YOUR faith but, in turn, debases the person who is struggling. In other words, it makes you feel better. You soothe your insecurities in regard to the situation but end up smashing the other person's belief system in the process.

Little word of advice, other people's faith or belief systems are none of your business. And, they don't have to be relative to what you believe in order for everyone to inhabit the same planet.

There are some people who reinforce their faith with affirmations from other people. They say what they believe and wait for people to either agree or disagree thus putting that locus of belief under the power of another person.

That's pretty weak, I think. Your grasp on your personal faith should have nothing to do with the person standing next to you or what they think. On that same note, your faith should not begrudge someone else of theirs.

Tricky, huh?

Faith is essential particularly in crises. So, I'm just wondering (in a gut check kind of manner) how's yours?

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for April 26, 2014

This morning we wake up with Moon in Aries (6:02 AM EDT). You know what that means? It means the Moon will once again go through the now separating Cardinal Cross conjuncting Uranus, squaring Pluto and Jupiter, opposing Mars. Blah, Blah, Blah. Haven’t we heard this story already? Yes. We have. And we will worry about that…tomorrow.

There is a tremendous momentous force behind the Moon when she passes through these aspects. You can get quite a bit done with that type of power behind you. Or, you can get flattened. Now is not the time for faintness of heart. You deserve to be happy. Don’t let fear and self-doubt keep you locked in a stasis.

Our Earth bound Mercury makes a sextile to Neptune in Pisces. Remember those dreams? Good. Now, stomp your foot. *STOMP* I WANT THAT! I DESERVE THAT! *STOMP*
And, by the way, someone could very easily slip a lie past you today. Dirty dogs!

Now, to figure out a way to get what you want without running over top of everyone. It can be done. North Node in Libra says so.

Aaaaaaand, that’s it for today. The big players come out tomorrow morning to poke at the Moon. She finds Mars Rx via opposition at 3:29 AM. Indecision. Ambivalence. You want to move forward but we have been TRYING to move forward for months and are uncertain of our abilities after standing up and getting knocked down…time…after time…after..time.

Adjust and recalculate if you need to but GET BACK UP. You can do it. YOU CAN DO IT.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for April 25, 1014

Oh blessed day! Today is the day where we build structure around our plans for bliss. Venus in Pisces trined Saturn in Scorpio overnight (1:16 AM EDT).

Moon is in Pisces and she finds Venus and Saturn locked in trine between 2:29 PM (trine Saturn) and 4:04 PM (conjunct Venus). Those wobbly, hazy, elusive dreams of Venus in Pisces are about to grow legs. They are going to crawl out of the swamp and you are going to start devising a solid plan with your eyes wide open. Get me? You are going to look at the good, the bad, the ugly. You are going to consider the benefits and challenges. You are going to set something FIRMLY in place.

Why? Because, next week we have a Solar Eclipse in Taurus. Guess how many planets Venus will rule at the point? Moon. Sun. Mars. North Node. Mercury. Oh, and looky there….Vesta and Ceres too! Oh wait..AND JUNO!

Venus is genteel in Pisces. Soft. Watery. Compassionate. Empathic. Dreamy. But, guess where she goes next? That’s right. Venus is right now on watery retreat dreamily musing about her various pleasures. But, after that, she waltzes right into Aries. Her armor is being cleaned and shined right now just for this event. And, today, is her pre-conference with duty (Saturn) before her entrance into the sign of the warrior.

Venus in Aries will be in mutual reception with Mars in Libra. The two will oppose. But, they have notes to share. They CAN work together. They can work VERY WELL together! But, the key is going to be to mix the positive elements of both Aries and Libra. Know you can go it alone. Have confidence that you can. But. Know that if you are willing to effectively partner YOU DO NOT HAVE TO! However, if the partnerships you’ve fostered thus far are failing then consider a course correction BUT DON’T LET THAT STOP YOU!

Venus has been rejected and dejected for decades. I’ve heard, “I don’t favor Venus.”…”I don’t like Venus.”…”Venus does nothing for me.” I understand where this comes from. We have been raised and conditioned to reject that which is connected to our feminine parts. We have been told they are weak. We have been told it is better to engage Mars. In the interim, this rejection of Venus has brought about shame of any kind of enjoyment that could be entertained (and entertained WELL) through engaging Venus.

Venus. Is. Pleasure.

Get out of here with your stereotypes of lazy, indulgent, fickle, coquette. Life is not meant to be torture. Work is supposed to bring the funds you need in order to ENJOY life…not to chain you to a desk. Venus says, “Darling, there is so much more to life than that. It’s not my fault you choose to disregard it.”

I could preach about Venus for pages and pages. But, I’m going to stop here and leave you with an inkling to CONSIDER VENUS. Get to know her. She isn’t what you’ve been told. She wants you to feel bliss and pleasure. Don’t be afraid or feel guilty over that! Venus is coming out. Soon.

And, speaking of Venus…and Taurus, what do our Venus ruled Sun and Venus ruled Mercury have to say to us today? They meet via conjunction at 11:28 PM. Information in regard to Venus is incoming. This is pretty integral to the New Moon. It happens only 3 degrees away from the eclipse point. The next body to pass over the eclipse point will be Juno. Solid (Taurus) commitments (Juno). Not just marriage. Commitments. We make things officially official then. But, the plans, rules and stipulations are being drawn up right now.

It is likely you will face a choice. Take a risk on your dreams. Or, default on the side of what is safe and secure and……..

BULLSHIT! Don’t you let your doubts and fears keep you from exploring what might be. SO FREAKING WHAT IF YOU FAIL? If you don’t GO FOR IT you might as well fail. Not living is the BIGGER failure.

The choice you will have to make will have to do with deciding what it is that is motivating you. Are you working to feed your ego? Are you working to feed your emotions? Where’s Jupiter? Cancer? Then your blessings, fortune and luck lie in your emotions (Cancer). Like I said yesterday, you can have all the money in the world and even the power to turn stone into gold but STILL BE AN EMOTIONALLY INSECURE WANKBAG.
Don’t be a wankbag.
Follow. Your. Bliss.

The gears have been greased and the wheels are finally and slowly starting to turn. There will still be blocks. There will still be the undecided and unknown to deal with. There are still hurdles to cross. But forward motion has begun. The time is here! You’ve been told for months and months to prepare and wait. Prepare, purge and wait.

I’m done waiting.

Are done waiting? Don’t let the train’s sudden lurch forward scare you. Brace yourself. Things will level out and you will get used to moving again. Then, you can ride the momentum to exactly where you were dreaming about being.

But, first…plan. Realistically plan your dreams. It can be done. Set your mind, now.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for April 24, 2014

While you were sleeping, Moon surfed into Pisces (2:56 AM EDT). Today is where the emotional waves hit you from the past few weeks or so. It’s foggy. It’s watery.

Spend some time alone. Soak in a hot tub. Get out around or near water. Ground. Ground. Ground.

HOWEVER, from Pisces the Moon makes some really supportive aspects. Moon trines Mercury at 6:42 AM. This is where you are able to put your emotions to words. If you are not comfortable speaking about them, write it out. Vent all over a fresh piece of paper. Either way, get it out of you...don’t hold it in. Don’t even try.

From here, Moon sextiles the Sun in Taurus at 10:15 AM. Taurus elements are such a nice mixture with Pisces. There is such grounding and stability in Taurus and Pisces REALLY benefits from it. Besides, who do you think is in that stream that cow is lazing around next to. That’s right…FISH! The two are pals.

Moon conjuncts Neptune at 2:50 PM. If you are planning a pity party, this is the time to shoot for. If you have allergies, they will likely be particularly sensitive today. You may also notice an unusual sensitivity from your other senses…all of them. Pay particular attention to what your intuition is telling you. Give yourself and others space. Be compassionate and empathic. And, ALWAYS with Pisces Moon and particularly when in conjunction with Neptune, know you can SET YOUR MOOD by changing the type of music you are listening to. And, music, under a Neptune/Pisces moon is NOT optional.

Venus in Pisces trines Saturn in Scorpio (1:16 AM on the 25th). I like the looks of this. Venus in Pisces is so so sensitive. It cares and cares and loves and gives until it nearly depletes itself. In trine to Saturn, there is a life boat in the form of being able to foster stability and boundaries around all that “love.” We need that.

Being responsible and dependable in all matters of Venus is highlighted (money, relationships, etc).

So we have a watery Moon but a lot of Earth out there to help us along. There is a chance to drown emotionally with this type of Moon (especially conjunct Neptune), but sometimes it can just be a nice day to drift and daydream. Grounding is accessible if you need it. Don’t be afraid to use it.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for April 23, 2014

Good morning. I really do hope you slept well. With Mars and Uranus perfecting in opposition, that may have been difficult.

Today, looks to be a bit…yucky. To be honest. We have Mars Rx finishing his backward motion through the Cardinal Cross and Moon squaring Saturn (exact at about noon EDT). Mercury enters Taurus at 5:16 AM so we may wake up with a completely new (and stubborn) mindset.

There are times when I don’t see a darn thing wrong with stubborn. And, actually, if you can dig your heels in and endure these last few weeks of Mars Rx (turns direct 5/20/14), then you may fare pretty well. Tenacity is called for.

Mars squares Pluto at 9:52 AM. This is notorious for fostering power struggles. I’ve had Pluto squaring my Mars for what seems like FOREVER. What I’ve learned is that part of what you encounter (in the way of power struggles/threats) COULD very well be valid. However, the larger part of this transit is about learning to control and direct your energy appropriately. Focus.

Yes, focus is out there. But, don’t go waving your laser beam about haphazardly. Make sure what you are giving your attention to is WORTHY of your time and efforts. With Mars Rx, this could bring a boost to your energy levels. However, keep working on meting your energetic efforts out evenly. Otherwise, you run the risk of depletion and energetic bankruptcy because this is a TRANSIT. It doesn’t last forever. Take advantage of it but don't overdo.
Sometimes in a power tug of war, the best tactic is to just let go of the rope.

So, yes. Use it. But, don’t overdo and don’t become obsessed about everybody being “out to get you.” Chances are, they are not. But, if they are, take appropriate action. Where the skies are right now, verbal debates aren’t going ANYWHERE.

Moon square Saturn is our tension from the lines of Aquarius and Scorpio (perfecting at 12:12 PM). You can ground here. But, it often plays out as a depressive and suppressive aspect. When in doubt, work on something. Saturn always likes that and he traditionally rules Aquarius. Bring some “down to earth” wisdom to those unusual Aquarian inventions that you may be in the mood to come up with.

Sure, a tardis would be cool. But, do you think that is a really good thing to unleash on the populace at large? I’m thinking…no. Though, it did seem to work out well in “Hot Tub Time Machine” or maybe I’m just a really biased John Cusack fan…

Moon goes Void after this square. So, it’s inadvisable to start anything in the afternoon. More wrap up. More purging. More getting ready for the New Moon.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for April 22, 2014

This morning we wake up to Moon in Aquarius and the tension that comes with a Last Quarter Moon (Moon in Aquarius squares Sun in Taurus at 3:53 AM EDT).

Our emotional body knows that change is needed but our physical body is resistant to change. I've often said that getting Taurus to move is difficult. However, if you have a cattle Moon in Aquarius...

This is a prelude to the solar eclipse that has us discerning and weighing our need for ego-comfort versus our need for emotional-comfort. Sometimes the two do not go hand in hand. However, I think this Solar Eclipse will fill us in on the fact that security is much more complex than a big bank account. You can have all the money in the world and still be left as an emotionally insecure wankbucket. Without addressing emotional needs, the rest is fruitless and unfulfilling.

That's not hard for me to understand. However...there are some that still have it confused.

Mars RX also makes his way into the Cardinal T-square today. Mars squares Jupiter in Cancer at 3:28 PM. Aggrandized, justified actions. Be sure. Be VERY VERY sure you are doing the right thing. You will not be able to take it back and the urge to act will be upon you quick, fast and in hurry.

Moon sextiles her ruler, Uranus in Aries, at 11:19 PM. Can you see how emotions can range from, “We need to do the best for all” to “FUCK THEM.” Yeah.
It could go either way. You decide which is best for you. But, know both possibilities from others are floating around out there.

At 11:25 PM, Moon trines Mars in Libra. Can you take a detached looked at your past actions and see where you have room to improve and make better choices? Can you try? The ability is accessible now if you want it.

Overnight, Mars opposes Uranus. You may not sleep well. I'm thinking of “Restless leg syndrome” here. It is electricity in the physical body that needs to be grounded out and channeled. Cut down on the stimulants (coffee, soda, caffeinated drinks) EARLY today. You'll thank me for that at bedtime. You can find more tips about dealing with this energy here.

Keep grounding stones near you and use this energy to your benefit instead of allowing it to run you over. It can be done. But, not without grounding and more than a bit of self-control.

Tomorrow at 5:16 AM Mercury calms down a bit and our minds become a bit more stable and realistic as he moves into Taurus. This sets the stage again for the incoming eclipse when we will have 3 bodies in the sign of the Bull. When your mind is set with Mercury in Taurus, its SET...until, well, you know...cattle prods.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for April 21, 2014

Emotions find stability this morning as Moon in Capricorn meets up with her current ruler, Saturn, via sextile at 9:48 AM. Grounding. Boundaries. Stability. Deeply rooted concern over all the falling “buildings.” But, it isn't a screaming and hysterical type of concern. It's a “let's buckle down and deal with the nitty gritty of it” type of concern.

At 2:12 PM EDT, Uranus meets Pluto via square. This is among the Cardinal Cross undertone aspects that I discussed in yesterday's forecast and the blog posts of the previous day. Ongoing. Pressurized and brought to the forefront today and echoing throughout the week.

Uranus vs Pluto is an urge to break free from the garbage (pre-conditioned debunked beliefs, shady business operations, self-centered leadership—as opposed to community minded leadership, etc..etc..etc). It is the fuel of the rebellion. You have to decide where “the rebellion” is manifesting for you.

Moon squares off with Mercury just before leaving Capricorn at 7:22 PM. Some of those warrior-like thoughts may not meld well with emotions that are geared toward effective leadership. Use the tension to adjust your plan accordingly.

Moon is then Void between 7:22 PM and Midnight when she finds her way to Aquarius. Detachment and concern regarding the collective is incoming tomorrow. Today, discern what leadership role you are suited for. Tomorrow, (particularly during the last quarter moon), we decide how that position fits in with the group.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for April 20, 2014

I had to write separate and additional blog posts yesterday just to prepare for the information I would cover in the next few days with Astrology forecasts.

Tarot and the Current Times

Cardinal Grand Cross and the News

What these posts do is give you a sense of the undertone that has been set by the tightening Cardinal Cross.

Humans are just about one of the most adaptable creatures on the planet. And, in essence, many have adapted to the pressure (though we often bitch about it) created under our current Astrology. We've not really recognized that fully yet, though. We are still waiting for that other shoe to drop. But, assimilation will come eventually. Hindsight usually brings the best insight and sometimes when we glance back we see things we didn't really understand when the past was the present moment.

The times we are in right now are a lot like that.

Today, we wake up to the Moon in Capricorn and Sun in Taurus. I came across a meme about the elements not too long ago and the phrase for Earth was “Earth Heals Us.” I'm going to have to agree with that. I recommend you remember that phrase. You may come up with the same counter phrase that I did, “Earth heals us. And, look what we do to her.”

But, at any rate, we've got ourselves an Earth Moon and Sun today.

At 3:24 AM the square between Jupiter and Uranus perfected. You may see some whiplash headlines on the news today. This aspect has been in force for sometime as part of the undertone described in the above linked articles.

Jupiter and Uranus squaring off is a conflict of ideals and freedoms. It is wild opportunity. It is BIG rebellion. It is aggrandized and possibly over-idealized visions of independence. It is the BIG ITCHY SCRATCHY.

For me, it is hard to sit still under this energy. Of course, my Mars is right in orb of this cross so that makes sense. On a Universal level, transiting Mars is on his way into this cross so keep the “itchy scratchy” not being able to sit still energy in mind because it is coming to your neighborhood. You are going to want to MOVE QUICKLY. So, make sure you have your possible destinations and actions in mind now.

At 9:16 AM, Capricorn Moon meets Neptune via sextile. Capricorn Moon is not the dreamy emotional sort. In aspect to Neptune, she softens a bit and becomes more sensitive, empathic and compassionate.

At 1:40 PM, Venus finds Chiron in Pisces via conjunction. Just writing about that aspect waxing in makes my chest hurt and I want to cry a little. Now, listen to me, hurt comes in many flavors. I'm sure it is painful for a chick to burst forth from an eggshell, a butterfly to emerge from a cocoon and a baby to be born. Yet, the successful navigation of all these hurts is a blessing to not only the chick, butterfly and baby but to all who encounter and love them during and after the fact.

Venus can bring healing and loving attention to old wounds. Or Chiron can break your heart. The first thing I thought of when seeing this wax in was someone drinking themselves to death in an effort to soothe a broken heart. It is in Pisces. If our heart is breaking we may want to transcend or numb the pain. Numbing is effective to a degree but it is also the downfall of Chiron in Pisces. Eventually you will have to face the pain in order to heal effectively or die (literally or figuratively) to escape it.

At 6:53 PM Jupiter opposes Pluto. Again, this has been another undertone aspect that we have been feeling for sometime. I direct you back to the blog I wrote yesterday (linked above) for reference about how this has played out and to give you an idea of how this may manifest in the future. From a personal perspective, to balance this out, weigh what personal constructs need to go and change your perspective about how you can go about getting rid of them. Still laughing at racist jokes? Still judge the actions of others based on rigid religious beliefs? Where are your prejudices? Are you willing to face the deeply rooted ugly of yourself and purge that? Because that is what Jupiter and Pluto are working to bring to your attention. The newly emerging mentality has NO ROOM for that shit. Be honest with yourself and get rid of it because it is not meant to be carried any further.

Then, the Moon finds her way into the Cardinal t-square. We FEEL what is going on acutely. Moon squares Uranus at 8:28 PM, conjuncts Pluto at 8:33 PM and opposes Jupiter at 8:33 PM. Yeah, we feel it all at once. Then, finally, we get a gut check with motivations and actions in relationship when Moon squares Mars Rx in Libra at 9:57 PM.

Today is determined, a bit serious, concerned with our establishments and how well they can weather the fluctuating times. We need new constructs. There is much work to be done on both a personal and collective level. There is a HUGE sense of social responsibility which we will need to maintain in order to navigate the destruction and decay of our current constructs. Because, without social responsibility we may build something back that does nothing but make things worse.

“Earth Heals Us”....”And look what we do to her.”...remember? Let's change that.

Lots and lots happening today and it doesn't necessary ease up as we move into our week. Moon does move out of the cross. So, the emotional undertone of today does not last but it DOES return right before the New Moon in Taurus as the Moon passes through Aries. So, we get breaks to assimilate a bit emotionally, but its not over yet. We aren't done with the work we need to do yet and you will most certainly feel that today. We are locked and loaded, for sure. We are just waiting for Mars to engage and pull the trigger. Aim true.

Tarot and the Current Times

Ah, the good old days. When ferries loaded with high school students didn't sink. When buses filled with children didn't burn. When millions of people did not have to worry about their plane just being swallowed in midair. When people dreamed of exploring space and weren't making reservations for their spot in a tent on Mars. When babies were procreated and not congealed in a tube.

Did those days really exist? Or, is it we just don't remember or overlooked stuff like this going on. Sure there have been massive tragedies in the past. Of course. Immediately the Marshall plane crash comes to mind as one such event.

But, it seems like these events were rare-- not subsequently occurring one after another in nothing that can be described any other way than a chain reaction of shocking, horrible, mysterious events.

Plus, there is this overwhelming feeling of helplessness among people as they try to figure out what they can do to change things.

All of these specialized protest groups are popping up. Collective organizations that spread across international borders creating petitions and activist motions.

In the face of adversity and helplessness, people are coming together under the umbrella of a common cause.

Racism is becoming intolerable. Sexism is becoming intolerable. Anything deemed as unfair or unhealthy for the populous at large (or sometimes for a handful of folks) is being addressed by the same populous at large who are calling for political attention and reform.

Catastrophe breeds empathy, mourning, grief and despair. But, apparently it also breeds a desire to gather around people of likened minds and try to make a difference.

Out of tragedy comes collective action and, hopefully, eventually change for the better.

The roots of our own destruction seem to be exposed on a daily basis in a manner that strikes home for many and is impossible to ignore.

It is as if the Universe at large is co-creating these events in an effort to get us to wake up and give a crap.

“Sheeple” is a new slang term being flung about to describe people who are believed to be like ostriches with their head in the sand or herds of mindless minions who just follow along not caring about what is happening as long as they are fed, sheltered and mildly comfortable. Being referred to as a Sheeple is not a term of endearment. Ok?

It is becoming harder and harder to be disconnected from the events of the world and be a sheeple. It's harder to deny that leadership is prone to shady business. It's harder to deny or ignore that change is in order.

It is also becoming harder to wade through all the moral issues that are coming into play due recent events. Have we really been sleeping this entire time?

Everything seems so big an unmanageable that some people feel like there is nothing they can do to help. Yet, consistently, I'm seeing progress being made.

The progress and difference is being fostered by these pockets of activist groups. But, what can one individual do on their own to address what is happening?

Well. There are several things. For example, America's consumer mentality is being pinged as “part of the problem.” And, I cannot say that I disagree with that. Americans (and we are not the ONLY ones) glorify busy and focus quite a bit on material status. But, what we fail to overlook is that material status also holds power.

If you are fed up because you are being fed GMO food, quit buying it. How you spend the money you have is your personal power. If people quit investing their funds in things they don't believe in then demand declines. Enough people do this and companies have no choice but to change what they are offering or file bankruptcy.

The key is educating yourself about what is going on. Though, that is hard to do given there is also a widespread suspicion about what is published for our common knowledge by the media. So, in educating yourself you should also learn a bit about reading for rhetoric and critical thinking (both of which, in my opinion, are sadly lost arts).

Next, you have to realize you do have power even though it may seem miniscule in the face of these overwhelming consecutive events. The power is in your pocket book, your emotional reaction and the actions that you take on a daily basis. Your money fuels what you invest it in. Disagree with Hobby Lobby's stance on providing health insurance coverage for birth control? Shop somewhere else. Disagree with products that incorporate GMO food? Discover which ones they are and stop buying them. Let your voice be heard and follow it up with changing what you give your power (money, vote, patronage) to.

It doesn't sound like much. But, what it equates to is a collective and determined step in the right direction.

Cardinal Grand Cross and the News

It only makes sense that we would see evidence of the Cardinal Cross in the news, because Jupiter is involved. Jupiter rules publishing. So, anytime he is involved it is usually an event that ends up being broadcast.

Jupiter also rules higher education, politics, court systems and organized religion to name a few. In the sign of Cancer, matters of home, roots, family, emotions and children are involved too. .

Pluto rules death, destruction, sex, birth, rebirth, transformation the shadow side of the psyche. In Capricorn, this mixes in elements of leadership, established rules, foundations, business, resources and tradition.

The first example I have is the story of the former KKK leader (Pluto in Capricorn) who opened fire on a group of people at a Jewish Center (Jupiter in Cancer).

I've been saying for sometime that Chiron in Pisces is being overlooked in this Cross even though he is still engaged via degree through softer aspects (meaning, he is not IN the cross but he is connected to it--this stuff doesn't happen in a vacuum).

The above story pulls Chiron and Uranus in the mix because it is being reported that the suspect was a raging alcoholic (Chiron in Pisces-the part of our Pisces selves that hinders/hobbles us) who finally went completely insane (that's Uranus' territory).

The next example I have is the Pistorius trial. Jupiter rules athletics and Pistorious is a phenomenal athlete in spite of his disabilities (Chiron in Pisces-transcending wounds). So wounded athlete on trial versus suspicions of murder (Pluto in Capricorn) that occurred in a wild and unexpected manner (Uranus in Aries).

Then, we have the recent catastrophe of the ferry that sunk in South Korea (Chiron in Pisces-injured by the sea). The ferry was carrying around 300 high school students (Jupiter in Cancer). The Captain has just been arrested because he abandoned his duties instead of staying aboard to help people who were drowning---which is kind of his job (Pluto in Capricorn). And, on top of that, a Vice Principal in charge of the high school students has since committed suicide due to overwhelming grief (Pluto in Capricorn/Chiron in Pisces). It is also speculated that the crew steering the ship was under supervised and had to make a call to turn the ferry too quickly without the presence of their Captain at the bridge to direct them. Uranus in Aries is sudden and unexpected (sometimes awkward) moves.

These are just a few examples. If you learn the archetypes, I'm sure you can find many, many more. But, these (on top of all the earthquakes, mudslides, explosions, car accidents) and many others definitely have put Astrology on front page news for some time now.

Morning Star: Daily Astrology for April 19, 2014

This morning, we wake up to Moon still in Sagittarius. At 7:49 AM EDT, she makes a pleasant trine to Mercury in Aries. If you have something you need to say...wait, let me rephrase that, whether you want to say it or not you probably will. Your mind (Mercury) is connected with your emotions (Moon) and they are both ON FIRE.

Sagittarius is outspoken--to put it mildly. However, it is also honest. Mercury in Aries is direct as well. So, if you can imagine a thought coming in your head and instantly coming out of your mouth...yeah, it's a lot like that. Reticence is obsolete.

Good news is this can be a really fun aspect. Especially if you have a good sense of humor and can perk your ears to listen.
If you are a writer ,today is highlighted to get lots of work done. I know it's Saturday, but it is also a great day to lay down the written word if that's your thing.

Not so coincidentally, this IS my thing and I have a lot of work to do. So YAY!

It is also a good day to take off on a road trip, which I'm hoping to also get to do because the weather is supposed to be sweet in my neck of the woods.

Have you met my new friend? He doesn't even have a name yet!
We end the day with a trine from Moon to Sun. ANOTHER sweet aspect that can be accessed throughout the day. Moon is only Void for about 10 minutes before entering Capricorn at 9:29 PM.

This is our last day of Sun in Aries. Tonight, right before midnight the Sun enters Taurus which means you should stock up on chocolate now before the rush. However, given this weekend is Easter for lots of folks, there may be no chocolate left!

So with that, I'm going to run to the store because the thought of “no chocolate” has made me panic a bit.

Last word...ENJOY THIS DAY!
(ugh, one small disclaimer..there is this small matter of Jupiter perfecting in square to Uranus at 3:24 AM overnight on the 20th. This isn't anything new and has been in application for quite some time. But, there is most certainly an air of the "unexpected" so, um, yeah. There's your wild card and then some).

Morning Star: Daily Astrology

Moon entered Sagittarius yesterday at about 6 PM EDT. At 6:05, I was outside building a fire. I didn't think anything about it until I had sat down and started watching it burn. All I knew was that being outside was not optional for me yesterday. And, burning stuff sounded very enticing.

This morning, however, we wake up with that Sagittarius Moon square Neptune in Pisces. Maybe I should say, we try to wake up under this apsect. This perfected at 5:43 AM.

Immediately before, Venus perfected her sextile to Pluto. We have the bravery needed to face the day. But, do we have the stamina? Venus/Pluto is money and power, beauty and death, vampires (mythical or energetic), love and sex, obsession about what we want, black widows, intimacy, debt. Sextiles are not pressured. They are strength (a tool of sorts) that we can use if we want. But, the energy itself can bring up all the stuff I just mentioned as well. Plus, with Venus' proximity to Chiron it can bring tremendous healing.

Moon trines Uranus at 5 PM giving us a bit of detachment from recent emotional issues and prompting us to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE! Adventure. Roam. Try new things. HAVE AN ADVENTURE!

I love adventures.

Moon will also sextile Mars in Libra giving us a bit more of a boost to get out and be social. Problem is, sandwiched between these two aspects are a square from Moon to Venus.

Want and need are in conflict. It could be that these Moon aspects do push us toward wanting to break free but something is pulling us not to. Maybe we are sick. A loved one is sick. You may want to get out but may not want to deal with the noise and friction of other people. Maybe you were drunk by noon and just really would rather sleep it off. *shrugs* Stranger things have happened.
Either way, it's a conflict or block that arises between what you Need (Sag Moon needs to roam) and what you Want (Venus in Pisces wants ethereal love, peace, quiet) that will need to be rectified.

At the end of the day, Moon makes a square to Chiron in Pisces. A bit more pressure, but most likely nothing too serious. A brief reminder of that chronic painful psychological condition that may prompt us to take a little extra self-care before we go to bed.

I was talking to someone yesterday about the New Moon Eclipse in Taurus coming in a few weeks. I've analyzed the chart for this and predominantly, I keep getting the same message about what it could mean.

The Taurus New Moon means, you have officially survived Aries Season and the Cardinal Cross of 2014. LOL! That's right. I think we should all get trophies and bouquets of fresh flowers for that one.

As a matter of fact, Sun moves into Taurus TOMORROW!

If you are a regular reader, you may know my affinity for Taurean energy. I feel like we are at the last bit of a race of endurance. We just have a few more feet to push before we can slide into home base and have coffee and chocolate pie.

Folks, we are ALMOST through this mess! New Moon in Taurus is for building new foundations, fostering a new type of security, getting our financial stuff in shape and focusing on what is tangible and pleasurable. Yes, it is an eclipse. I look over my shoulder at everything we will have passed through by then, I'm really tempted to say, “Um...eclipse? So?”

New Moon in Taurus also reminds me that I need to hang my hammock. Yes. I'm taking it that seriously.

But today, (oh yeah, we are talking about today) we lighten up a little but are not tension free. The square to Neptune early this morning produces fog that does burn away before the day is out. There are squares to both Venus and Chiron. But, if you can get yourself OUT, out of the house, out of the box, out of the office, out, out, out...then you could feel quite pleasant today. Roam. Wander. Refind your joy. Moon and Jupiter are in mutual reception. Don't forget to feed your wanderlusting belly!
